Order of windows services

Hi Guys,
I recently installed Oracle EBS R12.1.1 on Windows XP Pro, well i want to know in which order oracle's windows services are executed/loaded(with what parameters) at the windows start-up.......i want to make batch files to start and stop service manually.

Hi Hussein,
Thanx for the reply, ya i mean oracle's windows services. Well i followed the steps given in the guide to manually start/stop the service but i am running the script to start the database after successfully starting the database listener, i got the error.
As per the guide i run following scripts
1 ) addlnctl.cmd start PROD (This script located in C:\oracle\PROD\db\tech_st\11.1.0\appsutil\scripts\PROD_oracleappsxp)
This executed successfully
2) addbctl.cmd start normal (This script also located in C:\oracle\PROD\db\tech_st\11.1.0\appsutil\scripts\PROD_oracleappsxp)
When i executed this script i got the following error

  • Order of starting services in Hyperion System 9 release 9.3.1

    Hi,
How important is the order of starting services in 9.3.1. ?
I mean does this needs to be done manually every time or does Hyperion takes care of this automatically (including dependencies), if I set this to "automatic" in the services panel?
If not how to set up dependencies among services in the "services" panel of windows?
Or Is there any script provided for the sequential start of services?
    cheers
    H

    Hi,
You can go any way either make all services startup type Automatic
or(manually) start it sequential or use script to start
but in production Environment I suggest you to make a script to startup and shutdown the hyperion services.
Start order Your Database must be running
    Hyperion S9 OpenLDAP
    Hyperion S9 Shared Services
    Hyperion S9 BI+ 9.3 Core Services
Hyperion Essbase Administration Service (if essbase is installed)
    Hyperion Interactive Reporting Service
    Hyperion Workspace Application Server
    Hyperion WebAnalysis Application Server
    Hyperion Financial Reporting Services
    Hyperion Financial Reporting Application Server
    Hope this will help

  • Call RFC from DELPHI Windows Services Program

    Hi all,
Are there any way to call RFC from DELPHI Windows Services Program?
    Best regards.
    Munur EBCIOGLU

    Hi again Bhagat,
    1. Yes, it's included on 7.4 ABAP Stack (SAP NetWeaver 7.4 SP8 - Optimized for SAP HANA, Cloud and Mobile - Service Release 2 available now!). In a recent customer, SAP licences GW by user but there are other license model like session licensing: https://store.sap.com/sap/cp/ui/resources/store/html/SolutionDetails.html?pid=0000009470&catID=&pcntry=US&sap-language=EN&_cp_id=id-1385059687642-0
    2. You could install as an AddOn on your 7.3 system, there are many options depending on your desired infrastructure: SAP Gateway deployment options in a nutshell For example our customer have deployed Central Hub Gateway in a standalone stack ABAP to act as an standalone oData bridge between ABAP/nonAbap systems.
    3. You could deploy SAPUI5 apps in 7.x, Java Web Servers or HTTP Web Servers. You must consider your SSO scenario:
    - SSO Logon Tickets. You will need to configurate SSO Logon Tickets between SAP NW Portal & SAP NW Gateway & your backend (ECC, etc). In order to pass SAP session cookie you will need setup SAP Web Dispacther and access portal & gateway throught SAP WD with the same domain.
    - SAML2 Tickets. This scenario lets you provide portal & gateway on different domains enabling SSO. You could configure SAP NW Portal as an Identity Provider and other systems must trust SAP Portal as IdP.
    Cheers

  • Question about oradim and windows services

    Hello.
I have a db instance on my W-XP Pro machine that was created with this command:
oradim -new -sid <my_sid> -startmode m -pfile <my_pfile>
Since the creation I only used to need to start the windows service in order to work with the db.
I decided to delete the instance.
    oradim -delete -sid <my_sid>
    Afterwards I recreated the instance:
oradim -new -sid <my_sid> -startmode m -pfile <my_pfile>
And now I have this strange situation:
First I need to start the windows service (although it does not startup the db) and then starting the db with sqlplus.
Would it be possible restoring to the initial situation?
    Thanks in advance.

Did you tried changing the database startup as Auto
oradim -edit -sid <my_sid> -startmode auto -SRVCSTART
    systemThanks.
Although the above solution is working ok, I am also trying your solution but it seems there must be a syntax error:
D:\>oradim -edit -sid <my_sid> -startmode auto -SRVCSTART system
DIM-00036: Ha introducido una opci¾n no vßlida para el comando -DELETE
D:\>oradim -edit -sid <my_sid> -startmode a -SRVCSTART system
DIM-00003: Falta un argumento para el parßmetro
(I am sorry but I do not understand all the oradim options).

  • Financial Reports WIndows Service(s) missing?

I'm trying to install Oracle EPM version 11.1.2.1, and I'm pretty far along, but this seems weird. Everything is installed and configured, but I have no Windows service(s) for FR on the services tier server.
Looking at the startup order in the Installation and Configuration Guide, I see Financial Reporting Services listed just before Financial Reporting application server. I assume this is what used to be the 4 services on the services tier server that have been consolidated to 2, but I don't see any.
I double-checked the installer, and I have no check box under the 'Services' tier heading for FR, and no "Financial Reporting Services" item listed when I go into "choose individually." This seems wrong, but I'm not sure. I re-downloaded all 13 files from e-delivery that are flagged as necessary in the Readme. Still, nothing.
Print server is installed with the FR client, evidently? Is it not a server-side service anymore? Or is it now OK to install the FR client on the same machine that the server is on, which used to cause problems?
    Thanks for your consideration,
    -- Joe

    Hi Joe,
Can you provide a link to the documentation you are reviewing and make sure it is for 11.1.2.1 version?
There are two services for FR - the Financial Reporting Web Service and the Financial Reporting Print Service. That is all that you should need.
For information on how to configure the print service check here,
    http://epm-errors.blogspot.com/2012/01/configuring-financial-reporting-print.html
It is a server side component that they decided to bundle with the client installer... It's a bit strange to me.
    Thanks

  • CFMX windows services stopping

    Hi,
Has anyone else run into the situation where the CFMX 7
    ColdFusion services are stopping randomly?
    Set-up - Server 2000, CFMX 7, IIS 5
On checking the windows services i'm finding that the
services are failing which require a restart, this holds up for a
while then the services stops again. On restarting i'm then
sometimes receiving the 'service specific error 2', strangely
enough not all the time though, i did set the services to auto
restart on failure, this however does not seem to start the stopped
service, is there a set order they should be starting in? If there
is a service dependency can be set, any ideas?
This has also been coupled with a license key error in the
logs saying the server may be out of compliance, we have checked
all our license keys they are all valid, bit stumped on that one.
Any ideas & help greatly appreciated...

That's a fairly generic error message - have you dug through
the JRun (runtime) logs, and/or the system event logs?

  • Running Weblogic managed server as Windows service

    Hi,
i'm using Weblogic 6.0 SP2 and i'm trying to run Managed Server as windows
service (i'm using Win2k). I use a pretty long CLASSPATH in order to run my
WebApplication and it looks like beasvc.exe truncates my CLASSPATH - that
    way my application wouldn't work.
Is there any workaround to my problem ?
    Thanks alot for any help,
    Bybye.

Windows has a command line limitation of 2K.
Since you invoke beasvc.exe from command line, it will obviously get's
    truncated
    1)
One work around will be to set the registry manually after invoking
    the beasvc.exe
    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\
    <service-name>\Parameters
Alter cmdLine parameter to include everything. After this if you start
    the service, it should work.
    2)
Put all the classpath in a file called C:/temp/foo.tmp (since classpath is
    long)
Invoke beasvc.exe with cmdLine set as
    -cmdLine:... -classpath "@C:/temp/foo.tmp ...
Since jvm pulls the classpath from the file, this should also solve your
    problem.
Sun VM's support this feature as of 1.2 and above.

  • Weblogic Startup Class does not run as Windows Service

If you know the answer, plase send me an email at [email protected]
I'm running a weblogic startup class that starts a Thread. I need to
run a batch program that should be running as long as WebLogic is
    running (to process new orders).
It works fine when I run WebLogic (5.1 SP8) from a script, but causes
problem when I'm running it as a Windows Service. It calls the
startup class, however, the startup class never spawns the Thread
    class.
Following is excerpts from different components:

public String startup(String name, Hashtable args) throws
    Exception {
    Thread t = new ProductionPdfBatchRunner();

    return "success";
    *** ProductionPdfBatchRunner.java ***

    this.sleep(30000);

    Thanks for any help

    Hi,
    Ok. Few suggestions.
    1. Can you review the SAP note:
552286  Troubleshooting for the SAP Web Dispatcher
    2. When you said: "web dispatcher does not get started ", what error you got ? Can you be more details here ?
    3. Please check the trace file dev_webdisp" that generated in the work directory. If the log entries is not abvious, increase the trace level to 2 or 3, and reproduce and re-check the trace file.
    4. What is the output of the command "sapwebdisp -v"
    5. How about sapwebdisp.pfl ? Are those settings correct ?
    Hope this helps.

  • Starting OEM Windows Service only after database is ready

I have a Windows Service program (written in vb.net) that accesses an Oracle database via the Oracle ODBC driver. It runs fine as long as the database comes up first. In some installations, however, the Oracle system is not ready to connect when Windows auto-starts my service.
I have tried using both the database service name and the TNS_Listener... as a value in a DependsOnService key in the registry for my service, but it seems to have no effect. Judging by the event logs, Oracle continues to spin out "processes" for something over 30 seconds, which appear after my service is started regardless of what I do with the DependsOnService parameter.
How can I make Windows auto-start my service only after Oracle is ready?

Sure, although "net start" is a Windows thing, not an Oracle thing. Here is the contents of my startup.cmd file.
    net start "OracleOraDb10g_home1TNSListener"
    net start "OracleServicePROD"
    net start "OracleDBConsoleprod"
    net start "OracleCSService"
    net start "OracleOraDb10g_home1iSQL*Plus"
    pause
The thing in quotes is the service name found in the Windows Services panel. In order to use this method you should set the services you wish to control as Manual startup (instad of Automatic). You can do that by right clicking on a service name/Properties/Startup Type.
To do a shutdown, I reverse the order of the above script and of course change the starts to stops.

It is best practice to use unique service accounts for each service app.  Service accounts are just domain user accounts that are registered in SharePoint as service accounts in order to manage their password changes.

    1) Through Windows service manager when i restart the DSEE 7, restart happening correctly.
    2) When i restart my custom c++ services (used in our project), This custom services should stop & start other 10 services.
Custom service is able to stop all 10 services. But it could not able to start the services. All the 10 services are moved to the "Disabled" state.

How can I get machine information(win 9x/win NT) and
the details of service pack installed on the machine
using java? I have got all the relevant machine
    properties using system class(System.getProperties())
but could not get service pack details using the

  • Windows Services doesn't running automatically

    Hi you all,
Every I shutdown or restart my Mac the windows service is doesn't runn & I should starting it manually.
How to configure this services in order running automatically?

I have the same problem. My PPC Xserve is running 10.4.7 and is configured as OD master and PDC. The Windows Service start manually in the Service Admin and changes /etc/hostconfig to set "SMBSERVER=-YES-", but doesn't restart automatically on reboot.
I found one workaround. There are two launchd items in /System/Library/LaunchDaemons: smbd.plist and nmbd.plist. You can enable them by:
    cd /System/Library/LaunchDaemons
    sudo launchctl load -w smbd.plist
    sudo launchctl load -w nmbd.plist
and on restart, Windows file sharing will start automatically. The downside is that it will still be grayed out in the Service Admin.
