Ordering different product categories

Hi all
<u>System</u>
SRM 5.0 - Classic Scenario
R/3 4.6c
<u>Example:</u>
Requestor has product category A, C and D.
He/she tries to order an item belonging to product category B.
<b>Question 1:</b>
Is there a check that does not allow the requestor to order this item?
<b>Question 2:</b>
If answer to 1 is a yes, is there any standard code to auto-remove this item from the shopping cart?

Hi Yann
Thanks for the response.
Another 2 quick questions...
Would you know what is behaviour is option 1 is chosen?
i.e. is it an error when you are trying to order the SHC, or when you try to add the item to your SHC?
Would you be able to tell me whether there is any standard BAdI that can remove the item from the shopping cart if we choose option 1?
Thanks a bunch
Nick

  • Ordering Different Products in Same Order

When I order photo books through iphoto, if I want to order different sizes and styles (hardcover/softcover), I have to do them in separate orders -- and pay shipping and handling multiple times. Internet-based services do not have this limitation. In iphoto, I can change the quantity, but not mix and match different sizes and styles in the same order. Am I missing something, or is this a limitation in the iphoto software?

This is a limitation of Apple's Photo services, not the software.

  • Order different iphoto products in ONE order

How can I order different products out of iphoto (eg calendar, book) by ONE order instead of starting 3 orders???

I've seen other threads along this line... This is surprising and really disappointing. What is the logic behind this?
I'm ordering through iPhoto this time because I spent so long creating my cards, but next time will choose another provider who can manage the seemingly simple task of combining my two cards into one order.
I hope apple changes this odd policy soon, because it's otherwise a really great service.

  • Swap between two different item categories in sales orders for sub-contracting

    Dear gurus,
my requirement is to have the ability to swap between two different item categories for sales orders for sub-contracting.
This should be controlled by a combination of the material and a value maintained the Usage field in the Customer Material Info Record (for example by entering a ‘V’).  A combination of Sales Doc Type, Item Cat Group and Usage should result in the creation of a purchase requisition.
In the event that a process order is required instead of a purchase requisition (i.e. the product is to be manufactured in-house instead of sub-contracted) the user must have the ability to change the Item Category within the sales order to produce a process order.
The user would just change the item category within the sales order, and the system would automatically remove the purchase requisition assigned to the SO, and create a process order and assign it to the SO.
Can you suggest any possible solution?
    Thank you in advance.

    Hi Majlo,
In my system, I checked.  First created sales order with third party line item and then changed item category to normal item category.
Till Purchase order not created, I can change Item category of my sales order line item.
In this case SAP inform by log and once save delete purchase requisition of that line item .
For this you need to assign another item category as an manual item category in SPRO Item category assignment.
After this user can manually change item category to other one manually, if PO do not exist.
Please let me know if your query is different.

  • Place one order with Products from different sales orgs

    Hello,
We are in CRM 7.0 EHP2 connected to ECC 6.0. We have Internet
    sales/Webchannel Application.
We are rolling out Internet sales for a new country but they want the option to
place one single order with products from different sales
    organizations.
Currently Customers send fax/email to customer
representative(CR) with list of products. The CR identifies and places
multiple orders if products belong to different sales orgs.
Currently customers don't have idea about sales orgs and they don't
have a clue which product belongs to which sales orgs. So, for them to
use Internet sales, we have to provide them an option to place one
order with products from different sales orgs.
I understand SAP doesn't support this. But, is there any way we can achieve this through some custom/out of the box solutions?
    Thanks,
    Ravi

  • Same operation for different production orders

hi, we use different sheets (like aluminium, steel etc). each sheet (as roh material for certain operation) is for different production orders. we keep all sheets as one bundle and cut all the sheets at a time. say aluminium sheet is for order X, steel sheet is for order Y. How to handle this during confirmation and GR, Settlement of individual orders etc? pls advise the best practice with this type.

    Yadav,
As per my understanding, you maintain the sheets of different materials as different raw materials.
The cutting operation takes place altogether for cost effectiveness.
I don't think it would be a problem for you do deal with.
Different sheets will be part of different orders.
The GI would take place accordingly.
The confirmation will be independent untill it is linked with backflushed.
    Explain the scenario in details.
    Hope this helps you.

  • In our web site the product sort order under our categories are random with Firefox but IE, Chrome is alright, any ideas?

The sort order of products under our categories on our web site is random with Firefox, but the categories with products are in the correct order with IE, Chrome, etc. This incorrect order with Firefox occurs on various computers, i.e. Windows 7, XP, etc. and is not consistent. To make matters worse, sometimes it is random with Firefox and then returns to being correctly sorted but IE, Chrome, etc. are always in the correct order.

Works fine here for me, even after refreshing.
Start Firefox in <u>[[Safe Mode|Safe Mode]]</u> to check if one of the extensions (Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Extensions) or if hardware acceleration is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Appearance).

  • SMQ2, Product Categories and Materials

    Hello,
I am working on SRM 5.0 in ECS and I have an issue regarding the update of Product Categories from ECC.
Actually, the initial load worked properly but the update does not work. In SRM, when I look at SMQ2 queue list, I have many entries, most of them concern Material Master replication. So my first interrogation is: I do not use Material Master in SRM, so why do I find some entries linked to Material Masters in this queue list? Is there any mean to avoid this to occur?
My second interrogation is about the processing of SMQ2 queue list: What do I have to do in order to see the different entries processed automatically (for Product Categories update)?
    Thanks for your help.
    Best regards,
    Patrick

    Hi,
There is no delta replication/update available in SRM for PORDUCT CATEGORIES but only for PRODUCTS(material). To update the Product categories or bring in new categories, you need to run the initial load again thru trasnc R3AS.

  • SRM ROS: Product categories

    Hi Gurus,
If I've well understood, it is possible the implementation of the ROS scenario foreseeing two different clients:1 for SRM (100) and one for SUS/ROS (200).
In the scenario it is possible to define questionnaires category dependent (material groups imported from the SAP Backend system):
    My question is:
In which client sholud I perfom the Middleware activity related to the import of the Product categories?
In the SRM one (100) , in the SUS/ROS (200) or in both Clients?
    Thank you very much.
    Nuz

    Hi Masa,
the scenario I have in mind is very simple and it has those characrteristics:
    1) Purchasing process is performed only in SAP Backend system (so we don't need to user SRM EBP since, at the moment, we don't manage any purchasing Business Transaction in EBP --> import category from SAP should be useless);
    2) we want to activate the supplier qualification process: so, if i've well undertstood, I need SRM with a two clients configuration (100 for SRM EBP in which the Purchaser will check the questionnaies and in which the accepted Supplier Master data will be stored AND 200 for SRM SUS/ROS in which I'll manage the questionnaires set up and in which it is managed the service for questionnaires publication).
    3) If I want to use the 'category dependent questionnaires' I Should set up the Middleware in order to replicate the Product categoris from ERP to SRM SUS/ROS Client - 200- ).
Do you think what I said is correct?
    Thanks

  • Error in converting Planned Order to Production Order (Urgent)

    Hi All,
I am facing an error when i am trying to convert a planned order to production order.
    +Error message:
"Assignment order/WBS" is not allowed (WBS L.XXXXXX-XXXX)
    Diagnosis:
The current status of object 'WBS L.XXXXXX-XXXX' prohibits business transaction 'Assignment order/WBS'.
    Procedure:
To process business transaction 'Assignment order/WBS', you first have to change the status of object 'WBS L.XXXXXX-XXXX' to allow the transaction 'Assignment order/WBS'.+
I have another planned order identical to this one & for that i am not getting this error. So i checked the network for these 2 WBS elements, but could not find anything different in status.
I am unable to figure out what might be causing this error. Hope my problem is clear, await inputs.
    Vivek

    Hi,
I checked the planned order, the assignment exists. I compared the planned order for which i am not facing any issue in converting to work order & the one for which i am facing the error & i see no difference.
So i am not able to trace what might be the reason. Is there anything which can be deciphered from the Diagnosis & Procedure which i have posted in my initial qns?

  • 2 different item categories based on Plant

    Hello,
I have a scenario where I need to determine 2 different item categories based on the Plant.
I will have the same material produced per 2 different Plants in SAP.
    1 Plant is always producing the material using SAP x APO;
1 Plant will always be asking a Third party (Vendor) the stock material.
    In this case I need to have 1 item category for the regular sales (Stock based on TAN item category);
and 1 item category for the third party process (Stock received from Vendor (TAB - ALE PO automatic created).
I know that I can have both in config, but one of them I could change manually during Sales Order creation.
However we want to automatic determine the item category according to the plant informed in the item.
Is there an User Exit that I could use to do it?
    Thanks

    Thank you for your reply.
I will try to use MV45AFZB probably reading my plants in a variable set in TVARVC table.
    Best regards

  • Determination of G/L using Product Categories

    Hi,
I'm looking to load the full UNSPSC tree into SRM, but from my testing, after mapping the level 1 product category to the various account assignment types and the relevant G\L accounts, I cannot see the G\L mapping for the lower levels (2-4)of the product category when creating a shopping cart. Should the lower levels inherit the same G\L account to account assignment mapping as level 1 or should i use a BADI to define a different logic for determining the G/L account?

I can confirm that when mapping G/L account to Product categories using the UNSPSC schema, by entering 1* all subordinate levels of that UNSPSC code will also adopt the same G/L mapping.

  • Multiple Local Product Categories for One ECC Material Group

    Hello experts,
I have a question regarding Product Categories. I am using an Extended Classic Scenario and so, I retrieve Material Groups from the backend. Nevertheless, in order to have a more accurate split than ECC Material Groups in SRM, I would like to create local Product Categories which point on the same ECC Material Group. Eg. :
    ECC Material Group
      - SRM Product Category 1
      - SRM Product Category 2
I saw that I can create this kind of structure in COMM_HIERARCHY and I updated it in the PPOMA_BBP (I set * for backend and for SRM).
Nevertheless, when I create a SC, I can not find the local Product Categories I created?
Do you know how I could process?
    Thanks for your help
    Patrick

    Hi Patrick,
Looks like you got confused in understanding the concept.
You can not create a Local product category (material group) from a back end product category.
You can have both backend R/3 material groups and local product categoris (material groups) parallelly.
That means in COMM_HIERARCHY for R3MATCLASS hierarchy you have two nodes created under that, one for backend material groups and the other for local material groups.
In stand alone scenario or de-coupled scenario you can use local product categories and not in Extended classic and Classic scenarios.
For accessing a local product category you should have a local P.Org, local P.Group and the users should be assigned to these local P.Orgs or P.groups.
If you have such a setting in your org. structure then you can create S.Cs for local Product categories and local materials.
Hope this makes you more clear in understanding the issue.
    Clarifications are welcome.
    Award points for helpful answers.

  • 1 Invoice / 2 Line Items / Different Item Categories & diff exchgn rte

    hi,
there are 2 line items in my invoice and both have different item categories. one item cat (ZFIX) have exchange rate setting in copy control "PricingExchRate type" as A and other (ZFLT) have "C". now exchange rate are maintained in OB08 and are determined correctly in my billing documnet. but whenever i post the billing document to FI, exchange rate for "Billing Date" is determined for both line items. however the expected result was that exchange rate for 1st line item should have been determined as per sales order date( as copied in billing documnet).
hope my queery is clear. any comments to resolve the issue?
Edited by: Robert on Mar 4, 2011 8:29 AM

I had a similar problem before. The FX rate for the FI document is determined based on the invoice posting date, whatever you select in the copycontrol.  The copy control setting is only for the SD internal conversion of i.e. pricing condition currency into document currency.
The only choice in the Sap standard is to manipulate FI FX Rate my knowledge to set the Rate in the sales order (billing document tab in header or item, Field Exchange rate for FI postings).
Hope this helps to clear your issue.

  • Sourcing of product categories

    Hi,
We are running on SRM 5.0 and ECC 6.0
In our scenario--if shopping cart is a catalog item, purchase order is created automatically.
If the shopping cart is created using 'describe requirement' link--the shopping cart is sent to sourcing.
But in the configuration step "define sourcing for product categories'...all the categories are included and have the entry 'sourcing always carried out'.
And we also have the sourcing BADI 'define execution of sourcing' implemented. The logic in it is if the item is from catalog,no sourcing should be carried out.But if it isn't a catalog item, carry out sourcing.
My question is--do we need the configuration step of 'define sourcing for product categories'?Will the BADI not suffice?
    Thanks
    Trey

    Hi
I believe it is standard but you can take into cockpit badi bbp_src_determine (you can write your own logic).
Always your catalog have fixed source of supply so it will not go to sourcing cockpit even though define sourcing always.
    am i correct.
