Original Document Deleted

dear sap,
i raise one p.o in me21n , in this one provided 4 items, each single item i have done seperate gr and ir, finnaly accounting docuemnt posted in sap, user has deleted mistaken one invoice docuemnt in sap, but the amount value is not refleted in accounting view, if  selecte invoice system should shows document number 10000040567 deleted, if i will check in tables system should not shows any value, please guide me. how to resolve this issue

Hi Sunil,
I need a clarification, when actually document getting deleted from Ur desk top,
after checkin or after deleting the checkin document from DIR.
If it is getting deleted after checkin, then go to T-code DC30 - Workstation application and select the application of Word document and choose the details and remove the tick mark from "Delete file after check in" .
According to my knowledge there is setting in SAP DMS if U delete the checkin document from DIR it will get deleted from Ur desktop.
Still if U will face the same problem after the above setting, let me know to help you.

  • Managing Document Status at Original Document Levels

    Hi dms gurus,
    i know that we can manage the document at DIR level through the status, and create new versions of documents where the old version is kept with no change allowed.
    However, in the version how one can esily know what changes been done to the originals ? for example, i'm to release a certain document, but don't know what originals been added, what originals been deleted, and what originals been modified ? unless i refer to the old version and compare, which is not practical specially when a document contains quite large number of originals.
    is there a way to control such ? is there a way to control dms at original doc levels, for example any approved original document can no longer be deleted, etc...

    To keep the track of changes made in Original, you can make use of '"Content Version"
    You have to enable this setting in dc10 inside the status of the Doc type.. Everytime you change the original file in that particular status , it shows a Content Version of the same. You can see the different "content Versions" in tab original of DIR.. You even have the option to activate whichever Content Version you want to see by default...
    This is different from normal versioning .. as everything is stored in the same version of the DIR.. for eg.. 00

  • Data loss in original documents

    Hi, we are running R/3 46C with DMS.
    Typical functionality is as follows:
    Using the online vault (ftp server), we checkin and out the originals from the DMS. We use MS Word/Excel as workstation applications to create/update the originals. e.g. the original is checked-out and opens as a MS Word document within the SAPGUI (Inplace DM configuration). A temporary copy is created on local workstation. Employee then updates the original and does a 'save and exit'. This checks the original back into the vault, deletes the local copy from workstation and exits the transaction.
    The issue is as follows:
    Person A opens the original, updates it and saves and exits. Person B (or the same person A) opens the same original document within couple of seconds or so after person A has saved and exited. In this case, person B doesnot see the updated content. So person B has no clue that the content was updated. If person B updates the content and saves it,
    the content updated by person A is lost. There seems to be a performance issue resulting in potential data loss. The trace files for sapftp indicate good performance without any timeouts etc. between the workstation and the online vault (ftp server).
    Not able to nail the cause. Any ideas or suggestions will be appreciated.

    Hi Iring,
    I appreciate your suggestion. I think I understand it, however, in my case, the issue is after the original is checked into the vault. Once a user has updated the original and checked it into the vault (using 'save and exit' button), the transaction ends successfully, with a message "Document Info record <doc typ> <doc number> changed". This gives an impression that the original has been checked-in and the contents have been saved. If I open the same original within couple of seconds of the first save, the original does show as checked-in. However, intermittently, I would not see the content that was changed as part of the first save.
    The ftp log shows no errors and indicates good performance.

    Yes, excuse me. attach a file.  I have separate folders on my desktop to organize my word documents, so I'm guessing this might be a part of the problem.  When I go to attach one of these documents into gmail, the resulting attachment is another folder icon (not the original organizational folders) with 4 subfolders containing a slew of .xml files reading things like "header.xml" "format.xml" "settings.xml" "style.xml" "contenttype.xml" There are also a few .jpegs and a small folder reading "word" as one of the subfolders.

    Try the following BTE's for changing the Payment Block for the current document. Change the value T_BSEG-ZLSPR.
    00001020     POST DOCUMENT:       Prior to final checks
    00001025     POST DOCUMENT:       Final checks completed
    00001030     POST DOCUMENT:       Posting of standard data
    00001050     POST DOCUMENT:       Accounting interface
    Think that for updating the payment block in Original Document, we should try with some FI document change BAPI.

    I have an Invoice 1. I'm partial payment for that Invoice. The system generates a new invoice and it will be the clearing document for an invoice. Then I continued to make a payment more than once.

    My specific requirements are as follows:
    I have Invoice_1 with a value of u20AC 10,000.
    I use T-Code F-02 to make Payment_1 enter the value 1000 EUR. Then Using Residual Clearing (F-32) to make clear the Payment_1 and Invoice_1.
    After making clear, the system will generate Invoice_2 with a value of u20AC 9,000.
    In the database of the system will be Invoice_2 Document Clearing of Invoice_1. How to document from the number of Invoice_2 I know the document number Address Invoice_1.
    Note: This is just a simple case because only a Payment was made. In fact there may be many times the payment should be made by the clearing document was very difficult.
    I want a solution that actually simple enough to know number Address document of the original documents from the document by Clearing document number.

    Hi,
    based on the sample coding I think that some more data needs to be passed in parameter lt_files. I would recommend you to see the BAPI description in transaction BAPI for the DOCUMENT_CREATE2 BAPI and made sure that the necessary data for
    BAPI table DOCUMENTFILES are also handed over correctly.

    This issue occurs with most of the PDFs that I open up. I am using the latest version of adobe reader on my windows based machine and it is a general PDF. I saw a similar post online stating that if you look at the fonts used in the document and it doesn't say (Embedded) next to it, then Adobe Reader will try to pull the font(s) from your computer and if it doesn't find that font then it will replace it which makes it look funny.

    Is it the Word document that you want to make a copy of, or the PDF? In either case, you can choose File > Save As (in the appropriate application), and give the file a new name. For example, if you have a file named "HappyTimes.docx," you could choose File > Save As, and name the file "HappyTimes2.docx." Then, you'll have two Word files, and you can edit one and leave the other intact.

    I am using Framemaker 7.2 in Microsoft Office and I am trying to import chinese signs into a document but the signs looks different in the original compare to the FM document. The original document is a Word-file with format Arial Unicode MS and when I import that file it doesn't matter whether I choose to import by "Reformat Using Current Document's Formats" or by "Retain Sourse's Formatting", the signs looks different. Does anyone know how I should do it?

    FrameMaker does support Chinese (and Japanese and Korean) for years, but I am not sure how capable the Word Import is.
    Your message is unclear to me if the Chinese glyphs just look different (like: FrameMaker uses a different font) or are different (like: This seems to be Chinese but the signs are completely different).
    The first can be handled by making sure the same font is selected.
    In case of the latter: Make sure you have that Word document in RTF form, you will see far better results then. It also might make a difference if the document is saved to RTF on a Chinese or a Western system, you might want to try both if possible.
