Hi All,
For the Pre press screen ABAP team need to create some WIP folders in 10.10.10.215.So I want to try out the option of using OS command to access that server to create folders at a specific location in that server.
Can you please tell me the which OS command is used in this case.
Thanks in advance.

  • Open Data Set Error while trying to read file from non SAP server

    Hi all,
is it possible to read data from non-SAP application Sever?
I'm using OPEN DATASET p_filin FOR INPUT IN LEGACY TEXT MODE CODE PAGE '1504',
Where p_filin is other Windows server. Our applicition server is under Unix.Is it a problem?
I make test to read file from SAP application server and it was ok.So how to call other server?
    Thanks!

    Hi,
Yes it is possible to read data from a non SAP server through the statement OPEN DATASET.
The important thing to check is that the SAP Server got enough access to the non SAP server so it can perform a reading/writing process depending on your needs.
You should contact your network administrator and BASIS to help you check the permissions. This can be pretty tricky, specially if the servers are in different domains.

  • Download file into non-sap server

    Hi all,
My requirement is to  my program should be able to download the file into Mapped drive , which is Non-sap server .
    is it posible ?
    Thanks,
    Rani

Have you tried it?  I assume that your talking about something other than desktop target?  If so, construct yourself a small test program, containing open dataset for output in text mode and check the return code.

  • How to read XML file kept on NON-SAP server using the Http URL ?

    Dear Experts,
I am working on CRM2007 web UI. I need to read a XML file placed on a shared server location by a third party program. Then process that XML file into CRM and create a quotation using the data extracted from the file.
All i have with me is the http URL that points to the location of the file.
I am supposed to read the file , create quotation and at later point of time i would be asked to update the quotation and then generated new XML representing updated quotation and replace the XML file on shared server location with this new updated XML file.
I know how to extract data from XML file into ABAP but i have no clue as to how to access the file on some other server using the http url i have and how to read it ?
I searched on the forum and i found the codes for reading XML file that is located either on client machine OR on the Application server wheareas my file is on some other than sap application server.
Please help me as its an urgent issue .
Points will be rewarded for sure.
    Please help.
    Thanks in advance,
    Suchita.
p.s. : the http url to the file location is like -->
    http://SomeServerDomain/SomeDirectory/file.xml

    hi,
    interesting task.
to request the file by a http call you need to create an if_http_client object.
    More info is [here|http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nwmobile71/helpdata/en/e5/4d350bc11411d4ad310000e83539c3/frameset.htm]
to parse the file you either have to work with the ixml packages ([info|http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nwmobile71/helpdata/en/47/b5413acdb62f70e10000000a114084/content.htm]) or you use an XSLT transformation ([info|http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nwmobile71/helpdata/en/a8/824c3c66177414e10000000a114084/content.htm]).
uploading the final file isn't so easy. if you only have http, you should write a server script to allow uploading of the new file and copying it into the place of the old file. but you definitely need the script.
now it's your take. depending on how experienced you are in ABAP and networking this might turn out to be easy or pretty complicated.
    have fun,
    anton

  • Delivery document data transfer to non sap server.

    Hi,
My requirement is ,when i created delivery label (vl01), this delivery document should be  sent to FTP server instead of printer in flat file format.
Normally for delivery document printing we use VL71 t.code, but in my requirement i  have to create new program and configure this program in NACU tcode for particular output type.
How we approach this scenario, please help me.(for data down load to flat file and transfer to server).
    Thanks in advance.

    Hi,
I think you are mixing different concepts. UD connect , DB connect and Web services are methods to upload data from non-SAP source systems to BW. Ud connect is to loada data from SQL tables , DB connect from oracle table.
If you want to transfer data to other systems Open hub is the easiest way. You can put the data in a flat table throught the open hub. You can fill the table with delta method.
Open hub allows to load data from, infocubes, dso, or infoobjects.
    I hope it helps.

  • Access Enforcer & non-SAP apps

We were told that you can use AE 5.2 for non-SAP applications.  There are ways to set up roles for any type of system and accross systems.  I do not see any of this information in the user guides that are provided and I have not been able to figure it out by playing around with the tools.
I saw some posts with regard to Role Expert so I will begin looking into this tool to see if it helps.
Is it possible to set this up to perform approvals/reol evaluations for some legacy applications?
Does anyone know of some web training or anything available for this?
    Any links/pointers is appreciated.
Also, does the LDAP configuration actually work in AE?  We wer able to set up NetWeaver to map to an ldap instance and then log into AE if we kept the authentication pointing ad SAP UME but when we set up LDAP using the same settings, set up the LDAP mappings and user defaults I cannot authenticate.
    Regards,
    -J

    Hi John,
in response to the original question - you can use AE with non-SAP applications - basically anything that a Connector can be built to. This is specifically only for data retrieval (eg from LDAPs / Oracle/ Role Expert) - not for user account creation/ maintenance in the target systems (eg JDE / Bespoke systems etc). This doesn't stop you from defining workflows for non-SAP systems - just that you'll need a manual step at the end to execute the change.
Re the LDAP - connectors work fine for data retrieval (eg User details / User <> Mgr relationship) - which is totally separate from User Authentication for AE. If you are using CC & RE as well then you'll have to make a decision about whether to go with UME as primary point or LDAP (the UME User Persistence store is prob the easiest option long term - as UME roles would still need to be assigned for any user intending to use GRC..)
    cheers

  • Is it possible to use variant configuration (with a Non-SAP solution) when creating ERP sales orders in SAP CRM WebUI

    Hello,
our customer plans to use a Non-SAP solution for variant configuration (Camos) in SAP ERP (ECC 6.0) and in SAP CRM 7.0 EHP1 as well.
ERP sales orders (and ERP quotations) should be created in SAP CRM (CRM WebUI).
Is it possible to use variant configuration (with an external variant configuration tool) when creating ERP sales orders and quotations in the SAP CRM WebUI or do we have to implement SAP IPC for this?
    Thanks in advance.
    Regards,
    AEV

    Dear AEV,
I think LORD (lean orders) should work with variant configuration as well. In the note 1236015 there is not restriction listed. However you need lord2 activated in ECC, and ECC system should be on EHP4.
    Best regards

  • MI access to non SAP system

    Hi,
how can I access webservices through MI.
Also If i have a database which allows jdbc access how do I access it thru MI.?

    Hi Shalu,
In the MI Client you can have either AWT or JSP Application.
These are different user interface available for a MI Client.
Since you are intrested in webservices. you should use JSP Framework applciation.
    <b>How can i access webservices through MI?</b>
    In a real scenario,
    1. You create a JSP Application using SAP-IDE. i.e SAP Netweavar Studio.
    2. Export your jsp project to a .war file.
    3. Deploy the .war file in the MI Server using WEB CONSOLE.
    4. Assign this JSP Application to your userid & password which inturn corresponds to the MI Client.
    5. Now, the MI Client has to synchronize it. So that the
application is visible in the MI Client.
    6. MI Client sees the application as a link which he can use it later.
If i have a database which allows jdbc access how do i access it through MI?
Since you are going to use the application(Either JSP or AWT) in the client side and
since you are going to write those application in the MI Client. i.e Your machine,
The Data Source Name associated with your project is already present in your machine/client right.
So the MI client which is installed in your machine which is either JSP or AWT, takes care of the database access. :-D.
    Check this link...
    SAP NetWeaver Developer Studio

  • Non sap system access from SAP

    Hi,
I have to pick a file from non sap server to sap server , also i have to execute a software on non sap server .Please tell me the
    steps .

    Generic questions require generic answers:
    >  I have to pick a file from non sap server to sap server
Open explorer and copy the file.
    > , also i have to execute a software on non sap server .Please tell me the  steps .
Install the software and execute it.
Seriously, if you have a question be as specific as possible. We don't know anything about your environment so nobody can give you a suggestion what you can do to solve your issue. We have no operating system, no database, what kind of "file" that is, which data it contains, what kind of non-SAP software this is, how you want to execute it....
The more specific you are the higher is the possibility that someone had a likewise issue and has a suggestion.

  • Copying file between non SAP and SAP server in background

    Hi,
I have written a program to copy files from a non SAP server to our SAP server which works when running in the foreground.
When I try to run this program in the background, I get the following error ...
Control Framework: Fatal error - GUI cannot be reached
Can anyone tell me how to do this in the background.
    Thanks.

    Hello,
seems that you use some customer controls in your program. These controls are bound to a dynpro - and that doesn't work in background.
You could try to avoid this and just do the copy without using controls.

  • SSO from non-SAP to SAP apps

    Hi All,
Currently We have SAP applications, non-SAP applications(java, .NET, PHP etc) in our landscape.
If the client tries to access any non-SAP application it should ask for authentication and thereby for any subsequent access to any URL's(SAP or NON-SAP apps) it should not ask for any authentication.
    FYI:
The client logins into SAP Portal(SAP to NON-SAP) first and thereby able to achieve SSO for non-SAP applications as well.
Currently we are stuck for the scanerio of  Non-SAP to SAP apps ?
    Please suggest.......
    Thanks,
    Mano.

    Hi samuli,
Using SPNEGO, we can incorporate windows authentication for SAP Portal ( after desktop authentication user can logon without userid/password). But for non-sap apps this would be challenge.
I have another option, using webdispatcher if we enable server redirect for all applications(SAP & NON-SAP) and get authenticated centrally by which SSO can be achieved across all the apps.
    Would above solution work ?
    Thanks,
    Mano.

  • Sap to non sap connection

    Hi,
Can any one help  me, how to connect to non sap server using 'HTTP connection to Extn. Server'(G)
    in SM59.
What is the "Service No" and "Path Prefix" in the above connection type.
    Thanks,
    Rajesh

    Hi,
Service No is the extrenal system id. it is a number like 1080, 5000 ..etc
Path Prefix is the path of the connection is the external system like if your external system is xxx
full path for your connection is xxx.com/test.xml
    means path prefix is test.xml

  • License for XE Client and non-XE server

    Hi,
I want to use the XE Client to access a non-XE server. The license agreement states:
    Any use of the Oracle Database Express Edition is subject to the following limitations;
    1. Express Edition is limited to a single instance on any server;
    2. Express Edition may be installed on a multiple CPU server, but may only be executed on one processor in any server;
    3. Express Edition may only be used to support up to 4GB of user data (not including Express Edition system data);
    4. Express Edition may use up to 1 GB RAM of available memory.
Does that mean that I cannot use the XE Client for accessing a non-XE database?
Or can I freely distribute the XE Client together with my application?
    Thanks,
    Nils-Olof Wilske

Here's the way I'd read it:
The XE client is freely distributable, but the intentions are that you're using that with the XE-server.
If your non-XE server is licensed by the processor, I don't think Oracle cares which kind of client you use with it. If your non-XE server is licensed by the named user, you would still need to have licenses for those connections, no matter which client they were using, whether it be XE, Instant, Standard, etc.
You can't use the XE client to get around named user licensing requirements.
Was that the intended question, or was it strictly a question about distributing the client with your applications?
