Os x server 10.4 dns record screen not showing

i may be a complete idiot here, but i recently installed the os x server 10.4 and my and dns allwos me to add zones but not records for that zone.
i never see a screen allowing me to choose A, MX, CNAME, etc. records.
i have configured QuickDNS Pro before, and have it currently pointing to me os x server, since i can't configure the dns on that machine. and i have configured os x server (10.1, 10.3 and 10.4 before) so i know these items can be tough to find, but i think something is just not right on my install.
i swear i've clicked every button and tab on that Admin app.
i've been poking aorund for a screen shot of what it should show me but i'm still looking.
any ideas?

The DNS GUI is heavily disguised as a 'user friendly' interface so you might just not be recognising the correct area. For starters it never actually mentions things like A or CNAME records!
To describe where the 'button' is...
On DNS-> Settings page...
When you add the zone (click the + button), there should be two tabs at the top...
General (which it opens at to add the zone name, etc. and...
Machines - click this... which takes you to the machines pane...
Under the machines pane there should be a "+" button which, when clicked, allows you to add other machines' IP addresses (A records), and optionally with 'aliases' (CNAMES).
Unfortunately, this GUI seems to be far from intuitive - particularly for anyone who knows the basics of DNS. It has been designed for real basic stuff. E.g., it automatically adds reverse records.
You are far better of doing it manually and not bother with gui. In fact, if you do it manually the gui will probably be unable to convert back since it expects it to be in a real particular form. And never be tempted to try editing in the gui after manually editing since it will almost certainly goose the files!

DNS records are not 100% correct

For a while now we've been noticing that some DNS records are not correct. The records are pointing to incorrect IP addresses. One by one I open the record, update the IP, then replicate across all domain controllers.
What would cause the hostname of one machine to point to another IP address?

I believe what you're seeing is from DHCP-DNS registration. You may have duplicates, or incorrect data for records that can't be updated by DHCP service or the DHCP client due to permissions on the record. You may also not have scavenging in place.
In summary:
Configure DHCP Credentials. The credentials only need to be a plain-Jane, non-administrator, user account. But give it a really strong password.
Set DHCP to update everything, whether the clients can or cannot.
Set the zone for Secure & Unsecure Updates. Do not leave it Unsecure Only.
Add the DHCP server(s) to the Active Directory, Built-In DnsUpdateProxy security group. Make sure ALL other non-DHCP servers are NOT in the DnsUpdateProxy group. For example, some believe that the DNS servers or other DCs not running DHCP should be in it.
They must be removed or it won't work. Make sure that NO user accounts are in that group, either. (I hope that's crystal clear - you would be surprised how many will respond asking if the DHCP credentials should be in this group.)
On Windows 2008 R2 or newer, DISABLE Name Protection.
If DHCP is co-located on a Windows 2008 R2 or Windows 2012 DC, you can and must secure the DnsUpdateProxy group by running the following:
dnscmd /config /OpenAclOnProxyUpdates 0
Configure Scavenging on ONLY one DNS server. What it scavenges will replicate to others anyway. Set the scavenging NOREFRESH and REFRESH values combined to be equal or greater than the DHCP Lease length.

Update Record Does Not Show in Server Behaviors Pane

I am using Dreamweaver CS4 on a Windows 7 machine. I am coding in ASP VBScript. When I apply an Update Record behavior to a form and upload the file to the server, it works fine. However, the Update Record does not show in the Server Behaviors pane. Therefore, I cannot click on it to make further edits to it. When I open this same file in Dreamweaver CS3 on a Windows XP machine, I do see the Update Record behavior in the Server Behaviors pane and I can click on it to make it edits. What do I need to do to get the Update Record behavior to show?

Probably not the answer you are looking for, but support for traditional ASP has not been a focus of DW development, nor has it been for Windows 7 for
that matter. ASP is a "depreciated" language and support for it is dwindling. The I don't know exact reason for what is happening to you here, but I'd imagine it's an issue with CS4s translators and the combination of the feature sets in both Win 7 and CS4 not "worrying" about ASP as much as they used to.

Tcode F-48, Item 1 / Debit Advance / 29 L Screen not showing field Purchase doc. Field.
When advance / payment made by Tcode F-48 against purchase order. Purchase Doc. field not showing in Item2Downpayment made 2 Screen.
Is there any necessary custmization required.
We want to maintain and link purchase order no. at the time of Downpayment by F-48. so that it refelect in purchase order screen status tab.

- G005 field status group by Tcode OBC4 in Materials management screen i have make Req. Entry of Purchase order.
After than when i again run f-48, Purchase Doc. field still not showing. ?????

DNS record is not dynamically created in DNS Zone, when joining to DNS domain

in my test lab i have deployed two virtual machines (both are windows server 2008 R2 enterprise).
on vm1 i have installed just DNS role (without Active directory) and created a primary non-ADintegrated zone.
on this DNS zone, i have enabled dynamic update set to
non-secure & secure .
now in my vm2 (as a DNS client) , i set the ip address of this DNS server as preferred DNS server and then in system properties, on the primary DNS suffix field, i entered the name of my DNS domain (mydomain.lab)& rebooted VM2, but the a record of this
client (vm2) is not registered (created ) in mydomain.lab zone.
i respect the record be created like the situations which we join a client to AD domain

When registering DNS record ,client will send a SOA query to find the primary server of the zone .Then send register message to the server .
We can use nslookup to find the problem :
Open Command Prompt
type nslookup
type set type=soa
type zone name
1. If there is positive response ,check the name of
primary name server and the IP address of the server .
Its name should be vm1.mydomain.lab .If not ,edit the SOA record in the zone .
If no IP address ,edit NS record in the zone .
2. If there is no response ,check the SOA record in the zone .
We can manually delete and recreate the records to ensure there are right SOA and NS records .

ITunes Server with D-Link DNS-323 NAS - not showing up in Shared list

I bought a DNS-323 to hold all my music. I am trying to get it working with iTunes.
I have enabled the iTunes Server function on the DNS-323, selecting which folder I want to use for music, and have allowed the device to 'refresh'. It then tells me it should appear in iTunes.
I have installed iTunes 10.2.1.1, but under Sharing, the only option that appears is Home Share. The DNS-323 does not appear in the list.
I have tried rebooting the NAS to no effect.
I've searched a lot on the subject and have seen that iTunes 10 causes issues with iTunes Server on a NAS device, but many people were saying that 10.1 fixes it. However, the threads then seem to go dead with no definitive answer.
Can anyone tell me where iTunes Server is still supported in 10.2.1.1, and if so if there are any suggestions on how to get the device to show up? ALL I get is the Home Sharing option under the Shared heading in iTunes. I tried iTunes 9.2.1 but had the same issue.

Hey Travis, mine only worked when I pointed to a folder with all music files: mp3, m4a... (all separated by artists folders)
After that, I could see my DNS 323 but I couldn't drag any songs to any playlists. I could also see some playlists on my DNS 323 but I couldn't modify them or add any.
I lost 3 days trying everithing but nothing worked. In the end, I clicked on the itunes "File" menu (Top left) and selected "Add folder to library" and I selected the folder with all my music. It must have taken 10 hours to import all the songs. It took me around 1:30 hours to rename over 300 songs (out of 1700) because they weren't properly named. They were all at the bottom of the list.
On my second computer, I cheated because I clicked on "Edit" in iTunes and selected "Preferences". On the "Advanced" tab, I changes the ITunes Media Folder Location and pointed to the one I created with the first computer. The music appeared (I didn't have to rename 300 songs again) and the playlists I had created were also there. This way, I only manage one computer and it should chage the other one.
I'm not sure what will happen when I add new songs but I had selected the music folder on the first computer so I hope they are added automatically. I think I might have to go back to the DNS 323 and do a refresh on the iTunes server to see new songs but I haven't tried it yet.

ICR Process 2, FBICR2, reconcilation screen not showing data records

Experts,
My reconciliation screen is not showing me any records for process 2. After posting 2 documents and running FBICA2 (Assignment Program), I can see the items be assigned. The records are also all available in auxially programs total records and list of documents. With the help of an ICR SME yesterday, I was able to get process two working! It was great, the two notes helped and we reconciled several test scenarios.
This morning, I was working on process 2 and used the auxilary program to delete the transactional data (not index tables), reactivated the data tables, posted two new documents, and now the reconciliation display is back to u201CNo Data Record Selectedu201D issue we solved this week. No configuration was changed since FBICR2 began working yesterday. I tried recalculating totals in the Aux. programs list but that didn't help either. FBICA2 is still working perfectly and when I look at the records in auxiliary programs they have been assigned a document group number, so I know they are reconciling. The issue is with the Display in FBICR2. What would trigger FBICR2 to revert back to this error? Are there any known issue with the stability of FBICR2, or known issues with using the delete transactional data program?

Condition records are not showing in Invoice

Hi Experts,
My List price for XXXX material is amount $$$$$. Condition records having required validity.
But the values are not showing in invoice though the pricing analysis shows green for this condition type.
Condition values shown perfectly in preceeding documents.
Analysis message says " Condition record exists but has not been set "
Can you please suggest me, why this condition values are not shown in net value and suggest me the fis.

Goto the T. Code "VF03".
Enter your billing document number.Enter.Check what is the pricing procedure determined here.Goto the T.Code "V/08".Check whether that condition type present in that procedure.
If so check the validity of the condition records.Ensure it falls under your billing document date.Also ensure that it is not marked for deletion.For this goto the last column in the condition record screen "VK12 T.Code".Ensure that this check box is not ticked.
And you are telling that you are able get this one in previous documents.
Goto the T.Code "VTFA(if your scenario is order related billing)" else goto the T.Code "VTFL(If your scenario is delivery-related billing)".
Select your valid combination.Double click on item.Select your item category.Details.
Make the Pricing type as "D" and pricing source as "blank".

One field in a standard screen not showing.. why??

Hi all.
I want to be able to see a field in a standard screen. It is usually there but here they have hidden it using some configuration. Where do I configure it to show/unhide again? I see the field is there in the screen's layout but it is not showing when i go to that screen via its t-code.
Details:
field SCAC on control section of tcode xk03.
Please help me show this field/unhide this field.

The Fields that can be displayed/changed/modified/suppressed depends upon the way Vendor groups are customized in SPRO. I assume that u haven't change the standard screen via coding. If u have not then what you can do is to go in SPRO-->Financial Accounting->Vendor Account-->Master Records->Preperation for creating Vendor master records. Select the Acccount group with Screen layout. Select the vendor Group and double click. Once in next screeen , Go to field Status , double click 'General Data' and then go to control. There Check the property of the fileld that you have mentioned. Hope this helps.

LSMW record is not shows Product Attributes section for Tcode XD02

Please advise me what changes required to resolve the following issue.
"I am trying to record Tcode: XD02 (customer change) using LSMW, I choose Sales tab, Product attributes section is not showing up under Sales Tab. But Product attribute section is populate when change the customer manually (without LSMW)."

I solved this problem by myself. FYI while loading Product hirarchy data there is a filed called ISMHIERARCHLEVL which we need to assign the category, '1' for family, '2' for product and '3' for issue.

Pop-up screen not showing while accessing transactions in SAP CRM WEB-UI

When we are logging on SAP CRM WEB UI, for transactions like Lead, Complaints and Activities-
Sometimes Pop up screen is showing for selecting transaction types, but sometimes it is not showing.
We have tried it on different work stations with same user id and standard business roles , but we are not able to trace the problem. Also with same id sometimes error shows, "No business roles attached, not allowed to logon,
after that when we tried on other workstation with same id we were able to access all transactions.
Please suggest what would be the problem.

This is sporadically occurring issue hence I cannot pin point one single reason. Since sometimes you are able to logon and some time not certainly it could not be a Role authorization issue.
Just check if your business role is properly configured. Thats all i can say.

There are so many ways to be analysed for the cause. Because PIR -Purchase info record:
Please check in order of priority while diagnosing and finding for the solution:
1. Check wether the PIR is created for the Vendor of that perticular material or not.
2. Check for the validity (valid upto which date) mentioned in the PIR
3. Check for the type of Info record (based on Item category) it is such as Standard, Sub contracting, etc

Home Screen Not Showing Some Apps

I reset my home screen to show all apps in alphabetical order. I when to the end and saw some apps were missing. I searched them in spotlight search and they showed up. I have 10 home screens and some 135 apps. Is this happening because I have too many apps? How do I fix this?

Arrange the apps into appropriate folders so you can more easily find them. See:

It may be easier to arrange them in your iTunes library when the iPod is connected to the computer.
