Hi,
I suspect the IE require reboot and TS cannot catch this. So the TS cannot resume its state.
Also, see the KB below.

I assume, since it seems to be difficult for you to tell us what operating system you use, that you use some form of Windows. In which case, the answer is 'Yes, automatically set up - as seen by the Services'.
(Windows users don't seem to realize there are other OSs and therefore don't tell. They also don't realize that Windows is not an OS, but rather the marketing label for a whole families of OS Editions. Some popular families are: Windows XP, WIndows 2003, Windows 2008, Windows 7. But even then, Oracle only works on specific Editions within the family.)

    Hi Awen,
According to your description, my understanding is that you got an error when you installed prerequisities for SharePoint 2013.
Please run the following command, compare the result:
    C:\Windows\Microsoft.NET\Framework64\v4.0.30319\aspnet_regii -enable –i

So i was updating my white ipod touch 4th gen and i restarted the ipod while it was half way done. Then after it restarted it would crash right after the apple sign...it would turn white, red,purple,green...any ideas of how to fix it??

    Try:
    - iOS: Not responding or does not turn on
    - If not successful and you can't fully turn the iPod fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.
    - If still not successful that indicates a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.
When it says restore the iPid via recovery mode, try placing n recovery mode and restoring several times.

  • MDT 2012 State Restore Phase hangs at Restart-Computer Task

    Background:
MDT2012 only for OSD.  Configuring Win7 Enterprise x86 for Reference Image creation with Apps installed.
Configuration is being done with a VMWare VM.
    Problem:
I have an issue where the sequence hangs on a later Restart Computer task. Applications finish installing successfully according to the logs. I have no idea why it stops.
I have a couple restart computer tasks earlier in the sequence that all run fine. only after some applications are installed does the Restart Computer hang up.
If I force a restart at that point I get the "dirty environment found" error.  If I select to not start a new install my previous sequence picks up and continues where it should.
When hung up the computer is responsive as I am able to check the logs.  The SMSTS log says the reboot was successful, but it didnt actually happen.

    I have tried the following:
One App at a time - Success
No apps at all - Success
2-3 Apps - Mixed.  No pattern.  No single problem application identified.
For some reason I cant post screen caps here or links.
    Apps include:
    Symantec Endpoint Protection
    Oracle Java and ODBC Drivers
    Adobe reader, flash, shockwave
    MS Office, Forefront, AppV Client
    Winzip
    Citrix Client
I have tried reordering the list of apps.  I am continuing to enable and disable app installs.  I was hoping people would have come across this and had a fix for this.

  • MDT 2012 Replace computer task sequence

    Hello all,
I am using MDT 2012 Update 1 for upgrading over 200 machines from Windows XP to Windows 7.
Some of these machines are going to be REFRESH scenario. I have the task sequence for REFRESH scenario and it is working as expected.
However, I do not know how to create REPLACE scenario task sequence. From what I understand, I need to create two tasks sequences. I have created a task sequence that capture user's data and upload it to a share.
But how do I create a restore task sequence that restores that data to another computer after installing OS? What do I need to in the restore task sequence that either prompts me to select where to restore the data from or knows where the data is?
In SCCM there is computer association, but I have not been able to figure out how to do it purely using MDT.
Any expert help is greatly appreciated.
    Thanks in advance,
    SinghP80

Right, you will need 2 task sequences in a replace scenario.  The REPLACE task sequence captures the user state from the running OS.  Then you use a NEW COMPUTER task sequence (I called mine RESTORE) that restores the user state back after installing
the OS, which will boot from media or PXE.  RESTORE gets all of its values from the Default and Jackson sections. My apologies, my customsettings.ini is butchered and has comments and junk in it that I should remove to clean it up.  And you will
have to edit the code as described in the settings per task sequence thread for my cs.ini to work.  And, I set my OSDComputerName=%assettag%.  I set my Dell asset tags in the BIOS with the Dell CCTK tool.

  • "Installation will continue after reboot"... then nothing... help?

I have a 1st generation intel imac, 20 inch, and have tried three times to upgrade from 10.5.8 to 10.6 (SL). I have unplugged all accessories, and every time i go to upgrade, at about 1/5th of the way, i get a message saying that the installation will continue after the computer has restarted. It restarts... and then nothing. I have not seen this posted before, so if it has been, I apologize. Any help would be appreciated.
    Message was edited by: boxingflyer

I'm curious about what (if anything) the installer log file says about setting the DVD as the startup disk. Would you mind launching Console, going into the /private/var/log section & clicking on install.log if it is there? Look for a line in the log near the beginning of the lines that start with the date & time of the install attempt that contains the text "Setting Startup Disk" (without quotes). Anything after that that indicates an error? Is there a line (or two) with the text "Bless on Mac OS X Install DVD succeeded" a few lines below that?
Note that you can use the search box in Console to look for these text strings.

  • Keyboard shortcuts keep vanishing after reboot/restart

    Hello,
In  System Preferences -> Keyboard&Mouse, my keyboard shortcuts frequently vanish after a reboot/restart.  This happens over 60 percent of the time and I have to enter them all over again.  Very irritating..  Is this a known bug?  And is there any way to really 'save' keyboard shortcuts?
    Thanks,
    kds-kds

I have the same problem but it only appears to be with one device (iPhone 5).  My iPad and Mac seem to be fine.  I even tried a hard reset of the iPhone but that did not help.

  • Task sequence fails to resume after first reboot - Post Installation Task Sequence

    Hi everyone,
I am unable to deploy a Post Installation Task Sequence whenever I add an application to the "custom tasks" folder in the task sequence.  If I create a blank Post Installation Task Sequence w/o making any changes, it deploys fine and gives
me a summary page w/ no errors. Just to be clear, Litetouch runs fine when I kick off "cscript litetouch.vbs" from an elevated cmd prompt when logged in as administrator, but after reboot it boots to windows and does nothing.
I know it's not deploying because it's leaving around a mapped drive to the share, a SMSTaskSequence folder and MININT folder on the target machine.   My understanding is that those are supposed to get cleaned up by LTIcleanup.wsf at the end of the
    task sequence.
The BDD.log doesn't seem to be of much use.  The last line of the log says "sms task sequencer already found on c:\minint\tools\x64" and then it does nothing.
FWIW, I'm able to deploy using the standard task sequence and also able to sysprep and capture. The application that I am trying to install is just a batch file that adds the reg key to hide the start menu, then reboot.  I am not rebooting in the script,
I'm telling the application to do the reboot in MDT.
I know to a certainty that the target machine (a VM) has been sysprepped and am able to establish a connection to the deployment share so I'm kind of at a loss.  Also looked over Keith's FAQ on the subject and couldn't find any similarities to my issue.
Any help is appreciated.  I can provide logs if necessary.  Thanks!

Well, I created a fresh deploymentshare on a fresh windows server 2012 VM and am still having the same problem.  If I create a blank Post OS Installation Task and make no changes, it deploys fine to the target vm (win8.1).  If I have an app (chrome)
that I have set to reboot after installation, it always (tested this 30+times) fails to resume the task sequence.  I get no final confirmation page and a big mess that I clean up with LTIcleanup.wsf.
The deployment share has full (everyone) permissions to the share and I have full perms set to domain admin group for ntfs.  It seems like something goes wrong with the reboot cycle, but autologin seems to work fine with the admin pw so I'm really confused.
Like I said, the bdd.log in c:\windows\temp\deploymentshare doesn't have any errors.  I've tested this both on joined and unjoined (workgroup) machines and it makes no difference.
I should note that I can deploy Chrome and other apps sequentially as long as reboots are not involved.  So far, I've only had this problem if the reboot occurs with the first application.  Haven't yet tested on reboots w/ other apps in the sequence.
FWIW, this is starting to look like this:
    https://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/2db5f184-8332-4f63-b1ad-385a6d893f8c/mdt-2013-windows-81-application-install-with-reboot-problem?forum=mdt
Can someone tell me why this might be happening?  Is this a bug with this task sequence? Would someone mind testing this to see if there's just something wrong in my environment?
    I'd appreciate it.  Thanks.

  • Administrator Account Disabled after sysprep and capture task sequence in MDT 2010

    Hi
We are currently migrating from Windows XP to windows 7.  As part of our migration we have 5 base Images (for different areas of the business)
Here is what we are doing:
Create a reference machine with the source files for windows 7 Pro x86
Install applications as part of the Task sequence to build a reference machine.
Make the updates to the machine - required for the build.
Run  the Sysprep and capture template to take the capture of the Reference machine.
Import the Capture into the Operating system folder within MDT2010
Create a task sequecne to deploy the image.
    Deploy the Image for Testing.
Deploy the image to a machine
Update the machine with the defects
Re Capture the deployed machine and call it ver2.wim
    re deploy ver2.wim
    Testers test
Defects logged + additional user settings to be captured in the build
Re capture and sysprep runs says the capture has been succesful however after a reboot the administrator account is disabled.
We cant seem to capture anything from here on in.  Nothing has been changed in the unattend.
Autologon is set to enable the administrator account and the password is set to blank as this is then handled by policy when the machine is joined to the domain - we have not enabled the unattended join to the domain at this point in time but it will be
    for deploying the image.
Have we got our image strategy wrong? does the same rule apply about sysprep running more than 3 times on a single machine if it is captured and redeployed after a sucessfully sysprep to the same hardware or even different hardware.

    Hi,
One of the things Sysprep/WAIK do is disable the adminsitrator account.
You mentioned that you are setting the autologing to the administrator account and that you are setting it with a blank password, you can add a simple command in to sysprep's xml to reenable the account:

  • 2012R2 Application installation steps after deploying OS from Task sequence is slow after applying hotfix 2910552

We are currently using CM2012r2 for Endpoint protection, and in trying to save licensing costs, I have been given the task of doing imaging and application deployment through CM as well... everything started off well... noticed that imaging took a lot longer
than I remembered when I used CM2007 at my previous employer. Found we needed hotfix 2910522 and what took an hour to download now only takes 5 minutes (yay!) Then started other strange issues.  Mostly the fact that in the task sequence, the install application
blocks (we have 3 with 4-8 apps each) suddenly got really slow to execute. (boo!)  The application blocks eventually finish, but take about 5 hours and only the last block actually installs.    For example: 7zip takes 15 minutes to "install"
but since it isn't in the last block, it doesn't in fact install on the system.
so here is what I know so far:
Updated the boot image after applying the hotfix
Added the hotfix to the Windows and configmgr setup step command line to install the patch
Verified that all applications install correctly outside of the task sequence.
Created a new task sequence just in case the hotfix messed something up.
    here is what I've noticed:
Only happens on workstations that have been imaged previously by CM (even if I remove the machine from AD and CM)
    New machines image just dandy
not hardware specific (tested on 5 different laptop models and 3 desktop models)
workstations that have the issue, when finished, only installed the applications from the last block (4 apps) and none from the previous 2 blocks (16 applications)
If imaged new (not previously known) it installs the client correctly and it checks in, ones with the issue are in internet only mode and don't see the PKI cert for the machine, and will not check in.
Things I've checked, double checked, verified, and done:
All applications have the box for "allow this application to be installed from the Install Application task sequence action..."
applications are on all distribution points
    Distribution points are healthy
One MP/DP was complaining about how it couldn't access a SMS folder.  uninstalled the roles, let it sit over the weekend, reinstalled this morning
Verified that the servers were on 10Gb full and were not throwing error on the line
Antivirus scanning was not scanning the store (used the built in template for scep)
Next steps that I am going to try:
create a new task sequence and split up install application blocks to only have single applications in them
recreate the boot wim for the media
     Thanks in advance

So this issue of yours is in B&C -task sequence? You're using capture CD for capturing, why? Why not automate the build entirely.
    I'd suggest you add this:
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/2775511/en-us to your BUILD image (either online of offline, in the WinPE -phase), it fixes many WMI related problems.
After you've done your golden .wim, deploy it to your clients.
We don't do a build and capture because certain applications require handling on our part. Management has said it needs to be a certain way, therefore this is how we have to build it.  (mostly settings, and views that can't be controlled through registry,
Group Policy, etc.)  There are users that if they have to click on an accept button or it isn't the right color, or they want a different icon in their lab, then they go to the top and it comes back down to us, and our lives become miserable.
We create the image in audit mode, capture it using boot media, and sequence in things that are updated constantly (flash, shockwave, java, etc.) through the task sequence.
in relation to that KB, why would it work on new machines but not ones that have been touched before?

  • Having issues with patches that require multiple reboots in a task sequence?

Are you guys having issues doing a build and capture or deployment, while including the recent patches ?
It looks like another patch is requiring multiple reboots which breaks the task sequence...
Long story short... the last time I created a .Wim file was in June (with ZTIWindowsUpdate) - it included all the patches as of June 2014. This image has been deployed since then with no problem. All the other monthly patches (07/08/09/10/11/12/01) can be
installed successfully through the deployment task sequence with no problem.
Then last week, I decided to create a new .Wim file to include all the patches as of January 2015. In my build and capture step, it exits because one of the updates requires multiple reboot. I checked on the following website and it has not been updated
    since October 22nd : http://support.microsoft.com/kb/2894518
Do any of you experiences issues with a WSUS that requires multiple reboot recently ?
    Thanks!

As mentioned, the MDT offline updates task will do it. Add it to your build and capture and it will do the work for you using the updates in an update package that you've previously created. Alternatively, use a stand-alone instance of MDT to create your
image (using a build and capture TS of course) -- this can then use a stand-alone instance of WSUS to install the updates into your image which you then import into ConfigMgr.

  • Canon MX410 fax won't delete, Continues to remove even after you restart computer

    Hello,
I have a a U310 with windows 8 and it looses the wireless canon MX410 printer. I would have to delete printer and reload. This time It on shows MX410 fax and no printer icon. I tried to remove the fax so I could reload printer/fax from CD and now the removing fax shows up when you select fax icon. Also I tried to reload software and it stops the install and says the driver is busy. I says stop application and retry install. I have turned off the computer and restarted and it still shows removing fax. Should I try a ONE Button Restore to a few days ago and see?
I have also turned off the energy manager that keeps turning off my wireless.
I know the printer is OK because my older laptop with Win/7 prints just fine.
     Any suggestions????
       Thanks,
      Matt

Thanks for contacting the community forums, kscfire. I had a similar situation on my Android device. I was able to log into a computer to delete the email that kept showing  a subject but empty body.
You can also clear the cache for the email http://bit.ly/UasC7T to see if that works. Once cleared, power off/on and check the email box again.
Worst case scenario, remove the email app and reinstall it.

  • Windows 7 Install wont continue after first restart in Install process

    Hi,
I am trying to install Windows 7 Build 7000 on my computer. But it does
not seem to want to continue install after the first restart during the Install Process.
    Here is what I did:
I put in the dvd, and boot my computer from the DVD. I set the DVD to
be the only boot device in the BIOS. The installer starts. I go through
all the steps needed for install. It comes to the first restart, and
the computer restarts. After a lot of waiting, the computer brings up
the first step to the install. Where it shows the "Install Now" Button.
(The install basically starts from step One again).
Not sure what I did wrong through all this. My computer Specs are AMD
6400 2.20Ghz, 2 Gigs of Ram, Clean 40 Gig IDE Hard drive, on Different
IDE channel then the DVD Drive (Not sure if that is important). Linksys
Wireless Add in Card, BFG Nvidia GeForce 9600 GT. (From what I know, my computer meets all the requirements)
So if someone could help me get Windows 7 up and running, that would be great!
    Thanks in advance,
    Musick Man
    EDIT:
I forgot to say that I tried to install Windows 7 off a virtual drive
from within XP before I tried to install from a CD, but that didnt seem to work after the first restart
also. It did put the windows boot loader on my computer, but didnt
finish the Windows 7 Install. I have a feeling that it tried to
over-right my Windows XP install, because the boot loader only comes up
when my XP drive is plugged in. When I tried installing 7 with the CD,
I had my XP drive unplugged. So if 7 tried to install on my XP drive,
how can I get the files off it, that I dont want on it anymore, and
install Windows 7 on my other drive, in a XP and 7 Duel-boot.

    Hi Musick_Man:
If you want to install Win7 in a dual-boot with your XP O.S. you should leave the XP drive connected while installing Win7.  If you just added the IDE hard drive you want to install Win7 on you need to make sure that that drive is jumpered as Master on the back and that the DVD drive is jumpered as Slave if they are on the same cable.  The other option is to jumper both drives as "cable select" and make sure that the hard drive is on the topmost connector on the cable. If the DVD drive and the 40 GB hard drive are on separate cables they should each be jumpered as "Master" and use the top connection on each cable.  You didn't mention if your XP drive is an IDE drive or not.....if it is on the same cable with the drive you intend to install Win7 on, you need to jumper one as master and one as slave or jumper both to "cable select".  Hopefully your bios is already set to IDE/Native Mode already because if it is set to Sata mode for use with XP you might have problems dual booting with XP if you change the bios setting since XP is already installed.  If both hard drives show up in your boot order list in the bios,  that's ok......just make sure that the DVD drive is the first drive in the boot order so that you can install Win7 by booting from the DVD.
If you are currently able to boot into XP,  you shouldn't have any problems with the existing XP O.S.  If you are having problems even booting into XP you might have to do a repair of the XP operating system by booting from the XP cd and selecting "Repair start-up" when the XP CD loads.
Your hardware looks like it should work fine with Win7 and Win7 should automatically load all the necessary drivers during installation and when done each time you boot up your PC you will get a screen offering you the choice of which operating system you want to boot up (usually right after the bios screen).  You will have 30 seconds to pick which O.S. you want to play with!
In XP you will be able to "see" the win7 partition;  but,  in Win7 you won't be able to "see" the XP O.S. (you can assign a drive letter to the XP partition in Win7, but it's safer to leave it "out of sight).  Both O.S. will show up as "C" in when you boot them up.  Good luck...........you'll love Win7!
