I updated today to OSX 10.4.11 and my waves SSL plugs crash the validation....

OK, I finally got it...
The problem was that there was an OLD waveshell 5.7 preference file in the system.
Once I deleted it, the plugs validated OK.
Now on to the next crisis...!

Waves SSL Pack

Finished comparing these extremely great sounding plug-ins today.
We have an Analogue Desk (DDA AMR 24) which was made by the "old" SSL crew. The EQ's are pretty similar.
Anyway, these plugs are one of the best sounding music makers I've ever heard. Compression as well as EQ is ranking on my to 5 list.

Channel Strip : 50 % of one HD Accel Chip
Waves GChannel : 77 % Of one HD Accel chip
I cant tell u usage with the AU's as I dont have the AU channelstrip....Anyway I guess It would be about the same....
IMO - if I should choose one over the other and also look at the price i'd choose the channel strip. It sounds very good but it is a plug where you should take a day to get to know it and apply it on verious application material. The Channel strip is one plug-in
The waves SSL pack are three plugs...so maybe thats where the diff. in price is...i dont know... I have both and both can be set to sound very similar...However, the possibilites of the Channel Strip are more diverse than that of the SSL Pack.
You have a incorporated Side chain on the gate and the compressor in addition to the EQ - which u can set pre/post of compression.

Adobe plug crashes

Dear people,
Adobe plug crashes if I try to use the program WETRANSFER,
wetransfer.com. I updated Windows XP , Mozilla, Adobe , but it still crashes. I also used cookies and turned off my virusscanner.
It still crashes . It also crashes with the Adobe program to send big files.

Anybody else using Logic, Reason, and Waves SSL.... with this issue?

got a major problem.
i got a session where it's mostly Logic Audio Inst and Reason Rewired Inst (going to individual Audio Inst tracks).
when i apply the Waves SSL EQ to a Rewired Inst under Live Mode (for Rewire Behavior), it works fine. but after adding a few more inst and plugz, 1 of the 4 processor (indicated in System Performance) maxes out. which is kind of f'd up because the other processors are almost hitting rock bottom.
so i go and change from Live Mode to Playback Mode. this way, the processor doesn't overload. the processors look like they're distributed more properly this way, tho there's always one that spikes higher than others.
problem is, when i go to Playback Mode, i get this weird bug. it actually sounds like a bug. seriously. it goes "blip blip bleeep, blip etc etc etc".
and the blips don't come in at a constant rate, it's at a random rate. but it's constantly there... does that make sense? in a way it sounds like a short bursts of feedback. very annoying, cuz you can hear it, and you can even see it on the fader meter of the Reason Inst. doesn't happen to all Reason Inst channels, in most cases just one.
the obvious work-around is to use a different EQ (other than Waves, cuz it'll do the same for Channel EQ as well). but this is just a band-aid, not really solving the problem.
so the issues are:
-Waves SSL and Rewire doesn't behave nicely together under Playback Mode, and gets weird "blip" feedbacks
-Logic and Rewire doesn't behave nicely together under Live Mode, where it maxes out only 1 of the 4 processors.
this also happened back when i was using a G5 also, same Logic 7.2.3/Reason 3.0.5/Waves SSL 1.2.
anybody else encounter a similar problem? i can provide more info if necessary.
i even talked to Propellerheads, but they haven't gotten around to buy Waves SSL, so can't recreate the same problem despite of me sending them the session files....

I'm sure they'll have an iLok to install the demo to. It won't behave any differently from the full version, as it's just a different license. Maybe they were just fobbing you off?
As a workaround until it's sorted, can you export all the audio from Reason as regular audio so you don't have to use Reason?

M-Tron Pro crashes validation

M-Tron Pro keeps crashing validation. Wiped both Logic Express and M-Tron Pro, and reinstalled using new binaries for the M-Tron, and Logic Express. Any suggestions? It runs fine in GarageBand.

I have the same issue, but under Logic 8.0.2
Contact GForce, they have a newer beta version that may fix this non-validation problem.
BTW I am on Logic Pro 8.0.2, the issue is more probably with the operating system, since Apple had just released a "security release" and I had installed that prior to the M-Tron Pro crashing.
I also had one or two Nomad Factory plug-ins that also crashed at the same time as the M-Tron Pro. I am waiting to hear from Nomad Factory on what the issue may be with their plug-in, or if it was just that security release from Apple.

Property auth-protocol don't know a ssl-simple as valid value

I use dsee70 and i configure replica between two instances...
For default the auth-protocol is "clear", but now i want to change to "ssl-simple".
To do that, i execute the following command:
     # /opt/dsee7/bin/dsconf set-repl-agmt-prop dc=maximatt,dc=org:389 auth-protocol:ssl-simple
     Introduzca la contraseña de "cn=Directory Manager": *****
     El valor de la propiedad "auth-protocol" es "clear".
     "ssl-simple" no es un valor permitido para "auth-protocol".
     No se ha podido realizar la operación "set-repl-agmt-prop" en "localhost:389".
But if i check the valid values to auth-protocol executing the following command, i have:

So... i'm some comfused....

finally i can setup replication over ssl... to do that i execute the following comands in both servers (i show only executed in one of them - maximatt -):
1) create a replication aggrement
# /opt/dsee7/bin/dsconf create-repl-agmt -A "ssl-simple" dc=maximatt,dc=org relay.maximatt.org:636
2) set pwd replication
# echo ***** > /home/mdsee7/dsee70-maximatt/rep.pwd
# chown mdsee7:mdsee7 /home/mdsee7/dsee70-maximatt/rep.pwd
# /opt/dsee7/bin/dsconf set-repl-agmt-prop -h maximatt.org -p 389 dc=maximatt,dc=org relay.maximatt.org:636 auth-pwd-file:/home/mdsee7/dsee70-maximatt/rep.pwd
3) restart the instance
# /opt/dsee7/bin/dsadm restart /home/mdsee7/dsee70-maximatt
4) init sufixes
# /opt/dsee7/bin/dsconf init-repl-dest dc=maximatt,dc=org relay.maximatt.org:636
5) delete non ssl replication aggrements
# /opt/dsee7/bin/dsconf delete-repl-agmt dc=maximatt,dc=org relay.maximatt.org:389
so.. we cant modify a non ssl replication to ssl replication... its necesary create a new replication setting (aggrement)...

SSL & Plug-in error & IE6

Environment: WLS6.1sp2, IPlanet/Netscape Plug-in, Solaris 2.6., SSL secure connections
between client and Plug-in, no SSL between Plug-in and WebLogic Server. Deploy
with a regular enterprise application using servlets, EJB's, etc.
Randomly a security warning pop-up when using Internet Explore 6.
Warning message: This page contains both secure and nonsecure items. Do you want
to display the nonsecure items?
Does anyone know why this error randomly shows? Is it IE6 or the plug-in? We don't
get the error without SSL and we don't get it with other browsers.
Any help or suggestions would be great.

Are you still seeing this behavior? I am having a similar issue with WL7Sp1 and the IIS proxy. After I get the message my IIS crashes! Any input would be appreciated.

Photoshop CC2014 in OSX Yosemite (Mac book pro retina 2014) crashes frequently and Merge to HDR does not work

My photoshop CC2014 on my Mac OSX Yosemite crashes all the time with random tasks. Now almost nothing works. Sometimes it stops working after doing random tasks like starting photoshop and i have to do a hard reset by putting the power off of my Mac pro retina (2014). After logging in again i got the message from Photoshop that graphics problem occurred with a Problem report I will post here. I also cannot merge to HDR from lightroom to photoshop & also in Photoshop in the file menu > automate merge to HDR pro. It 8 of 10 times it stops working and I won't select one of the brackets. I have to force quit photoshop. I think these instability problems started after updating to Yosemite but become worser everyday. I also disabled the graphics driver, put it on basic and enabled/disabled open gl, sometimes photoshop disables it automaticly. My osx is up to date so I don't have to update my graphic driver because these updates or done within the OSX update pane. I cannot add the Problem report file in this topic, How can I do this???

Have you installed all the Photoshop updates and MacOS 10.10 updates?
Disabling GPU usage in Photoshop should help with the video driver bugs in MacOS 10.10, until Apple can solve all the driver issues (yes, Apple knows about them and is working on solutions).
What does the long, detailed crash log say?
Also, anything that freezes, shuts down, or reboots the machine is not an application error - but caused by an OS bug, a low level driver bug, or faulty hardware. Applications simply cannot cause those symptoms on modern OSes.

MacBook Pro 15' Core i7 Running Boot Camp Turns on in OSX fine, but in windows, whenever plug it in, the display goes black.

I have a 2011 MBP 15'. It has a core i7 2.4GHz 8gb of ram, and a HD 6750m. I rarely use Lion, I use Windows 7 Enterprise. I boot up my laptop and it turns on fine. Windows loads, but as soon as I plug the MagSafe adapter into the laptop, the display turns off.
Any ideas? I have already reset the SMC, and reset the PRAM and NVRAM. Neither worked.

Since you have a Mid2014 MBP, the USB should contain the Windows installer and BC drivers. Make sure your USB is a USB2 flash drive/disk. USB3 will fail.
There should be no hubs between the USB and the MBP and no other external peripherals connected to the Mac.
However at the last step when I click the "Install" button, my computer will restart and boot into OSX.
This indicates that the Mac cannot find the USB with Windows ISO and BC drivers.

Updated to OSX 10.4.6-now all apps crash when trying to print

I updated to OSX 10.4.6 and now every time I try to print applications crash. My printer is an Hp 5100tn connected through ethernet. I tried all of the recommended fixes, repair permissions, rebooting, replace the printer queue, etc. This is a HUGE problem. Any suggestions?

Aside from any misgivings that may be interpeted. . .
I have noticed in our environment, a few things that did not work in the same smooth fashion in 10.4.6 as they did using 10.4.5.
Everyone's environment is going to be a little different, but I do see some common remarks about people being surprised the update makes things worse and not better.
Again - this is not what everyone says.
I have also seen a one issue get better with the 10.4.6 update, but it's more of a convenience thing with login scripts.

Flash Builder 4.7 + OSX 10.10 Yosemite + File Dialogue Box = CRASH :-(

Problem Description:
When attempting to use a Flash Builder File Dialogue Box under OSX 10.10 Yosemite will immediately crash the application. This bug essentially now renders Flash Builder 100% useless!
Steps to Reproduce:
1. Open Flash Builder 4.7 on OSX 10.10 Yosemite
2. Attempt to use any File Dialogue Box, such as "Browse.." etc
Actual Result:
The application immediately crashes.
Expected Result:
You should be able to conduct the action, such as loading a Flex Project, adding an SDK etc.
Any Workarounds:
None

anyways, I've attempted to update the java symlink to move back to java 1.6 to see if that works.
java -version should report something like "java 1.7.0_xxx" for yosemite
sudo rm /usr/bin/java (remove our current java symlink to 1.7.x)
sudo ln -s /System/Library/Frameworks/JavaVM.framework/Versions/1.6/Commands/java /usr/bin/java (sets up the new symlink)
java -version should now report something like "java 1.6.0_xx"
Done.
Open file-dialog chooser in FB. Still explodes.

from 7.0.0.1 to 7.0.1 and used the new plug-in. I actually found the plug-in
size for solaris to be smaller then the 7.0.0.1 which I found to be a little strange.
The old plug-in does not work either.
I am not sure if this is a bug or what, just want to see if anyone has a similar
setup and seeing similar issues. We run OpenSSL on Apache 1.3.9 and this was
working fine in 7.0.0.1 and just stopped working for the SSL pages only, the regular
pages pass through no problem.

Cannot start iChat Server on OSX 10.4.3 without SSL certitficate

I've installed an OSX server 10.4.3 on a private network, without DNS.
All services are running correctly just needing a direct addressing.
I'm trynig to run iChat server but it stop and seems to need a SSL certificate. This is the error message :
"Jan 19 17:42:28 cube iChatServer-jabberd[16529]: 20060119T16:42:28: [error] (-configure): SSL Connections are disabled. [error:02001002:system library:fopen:No such file or directory] while using SSL certificate file '/etc/certificates/Default.crtkey' for host '0.0.0.0'. "
What's the problem with this configuration ? Do you really need SSL certificate to run iChat server on a private network.

This was the first time I'd seen something like this on my Mac, so I was panicky.
The thing listed a whole bunch of different malware by name that supposedly
infected me with threat levels of "high". Looked convincing to this old fart.

Can anyone send me the SSL Plug-ins?

I have a new 5525-X and of course it doesn't ship with the plug-ins installed in Flash (pretty stupid). Anyway I need to setup my SSL VPN and I'm looking for the plug-ins. Unfortunately my account isn't linked to a contract so I can't download them. I'm looking for the RDP ones, SSH and VNC. Any help would be appreciated.
