OSX 104.9 intel macmini & Palm Lifedrive

the volumen lifedrive donot mount
What do you think is the reason drive mode does not work on the Mac-Mini?
when in OSX 10.4.8 all work 100%, and now is the problem !
Y have another one powerbook g4, macosX 10.4.8 and work 100% well

brado32-
Greetings and welcome to the Apple boards.
I am puzzled as to why you would think a malfunctioning drive would cause you to downgrade your system, but my guess is it won't work.
If you can't see it to format it in Disk utility then it is bad and should be returned.

  • Intel MacMini

Hi All, my daughters Intel MacMini has been turned Off (6 months) whilst she travelled..
When we turn it On how & what is the best way to do the Updates she has missed...Tx..L

    Hi elmac,
personally I never use Apple Software Update for download and install of updates, but only for seeing which updates are meant for my Macs.
I download the neccessary updates from here http://www.apple.com/downloads/macosx/apple/ and install them myself.
Also a permissions repair and OSX Volume check with Disk Utility before applying the updates is a good idea.
Oh, and btw. these are the iMac forum, not the MacMini one

  • Sync PALM Lifedrive with Mac OS X.4.8

Under Isync i can't add my palm lifedrive. Ihave install palm desktop (last version). I want to synchronize with bluetooth. Under bluetooth finder menu my palm is recognize but without service recognize.
    Please help me!
    I'am a new switcher.

    Welcome to Apple Discussions.
It's not clear how you attempted to configure your MacBook to support LifeDrive synchronization, but there are several important steps to follow.
You should install the version of the Palm Desktop which came bundled on a CD-ROM with your Palm device. Other versions do not necessarily contain the appropriate resources or offer full support for the LifeDrive.
You must create a Bluetooth pairing between for device and your MacBook, initiating it from the LifeDrive and confirming it from the Macintosh.
You add a LifeDrive—or any other supported Palm device—to iSync using the option labeled Enable Palm OS Syncing… under the Devices menu in iSync, and not with the Add Device… option.
Your initial synchronization will allow you to merge data between your LifeDrive and your MacBook, or overwrite the data on your Palm device. If you can do so, you should choose to overwrite it.

  • MIAW in OSX 10.4 Intel

I have an application that opens a MIAW at the onset, but it
is invisible. We do this so the window does not have to load each
time it is called, we never actually "forget the MIAW" we just
    close it.
My problem is that on our OSX test machine (OSX 10.4 Intel
Mac Mini) the MIAW always shows up as a white square and never
disappears. When the MIAW is called and opened, it appears as
normal, but when it is closed it goes back to being a white square.
Admittedly we have only ever developed PC applications, as
there has been no request by any client to include mac users. This
is our first, and we only test on the Mac platforms - we develop on
    PC.
Aside from the weird MIAW the software runs more-or-less
    normally on the Mac.
Is this normal on Macs? is there a workaround?

Projector is a standard window (something like 700x400), not
    fullscreen.
MIAW is a standard default MIAW, nothing tricky set on it
aside from changing the window title and setting it to be off.

  • Transfer data from Palm LifeDrive to Palm Treo Pro (Unlocked)

Hi, as it says in the title, i want to transfer data from Palm LifeDrive to Palm Treo Pro, how can i do that? do i need a special software?
    Thank you in advance.
    Ivan Rodriguez.
Post relates to: Treo Pro T850U (Unlocked)

You can do this 2 different ways. You can set your Palm Desktop software to sync to Outlook, and then sync your LifeDrive to outlook. You would then be able to just sync the Outlook data to you Treo Pro. The other option would be to purchase Chapura Pocket Copy software, and this will copy the data in the Palm DT application to Outlook. Once again you would just sync your Treo Pro to Outlook. You can get the Pocket Copy application from Chapura.com

  • Palm Lifedrive and iPaq H5550 transfer of data

I have finally managed to get my Palm Lifedrive to synch with my Windows 7 (64 bit) desktop using the Aceeca.com patches to the drivers. But I figure that my Lifedrive is really too obsolete now and I need to upgrade as some day it might just die on me.  I don't want a smart phone so was contemplating buying an HP iPaq H5550 as a PDA.
Does anybody know if it is possible to export  my Contacts and Memos lists from  Palm Desktop on my computer  across to  an iPaq H5550.  I have hundreds of memos and contacts and cannot face inputting them in manually again.
    Any advice would be welcome.
    many thanks
    Post relates to: LifeDrive

Since the iPaq is a WinMob device, switch your sync conduit to Outlook (if you have the program on your computer).
    Start Button/All Programs/PIM Conduit Sync/Sync with Outlook.
WinMob devices use Outlook as their PIM manager.

  • Intel MacMini and Hitachi HDTV

I have an Intel MacMini connected to my Hitachi HDTV (model # 50V500A).
When first starting the MacMini or restarting the Mac Mini; I have to go into Display Settings on the Mac and put a check in the Overscan box and then uncheck it in order to get the display to work normally. If not the display shows a distorted image (almost like a film negative). After that it works fine. Any suggestions as to eliminating this hassle? The MacMini is plugged into the DVI HDTV port on the back of the TV.

Someone please help...it's driving me crazzzzzyyyyyy!

  • Problems printing over WiFi on Intel MacMini

Is anyone having printing problems over Wireless?
The only way I can print is over Ethernet. For some reason I can only print over wireless to Appletalk Ethernet printers (Magicolor 3300 and LaserJet 4MP). Printing works fine on Powerbook wireless and G4 Mini Wireless, but not on Intel MacMini. The Appletalk seems to switch properly, but I get an error on the Intel MacMini in the print dialog "can't find route to host. Both MacMinis set up with DHCP, both system settings are the same.
Also the print Dialog on the Magicolor Printer is missing a selection "Printing Features" although same driver is installed on both machines. Could there be some issues with printing on the Intel MacMini ???
    MacMini   Mac OS X (10.3.8)

This seems to be a recurring problem with the Intel Macs. MBP owners are having the same issue. It think it must be an OS bug.

  • Software on intel Macmini

Looking at the spec. for the Intel MacMini, it doesn't seem to include AppleWorks, is that correct? so there is only TexEdit to do any writing with.
    Cheers, Gerald.

    Hello Gerald,
You are correct I am afraid. There are some trial packages on the Mini. No " full " Applications though.
    This may help though....

  • New intel macminis run motion2 ?

Hey all anyword on if the new intel macminis will run motion with assuming you have the intel upgrade to final cut pro studio?
    I hope so..

Where did you find that information?
Also, the main features of Motion are compatible with
Panther 10.3.9, aren't they? Surely Core Video is a
Tiger-only technology and is not required for
    Motion to run?
From the FCP Studio System Requirements Page:
"Motion requires the standard graphics card in any Power Mac G5, iMac G5, PowerBook G4 (1.25GHz or faster ), or flat-panel iMac (1.25GHz or faster)."
Motion requires one of these cards because only these cards are Core Video compatible. (Obviously Apple needs to update this to reflect the Intel iMacs and MacBook Pro). True, Core Video is a feature of Tiger, but it is not exclusive to Tiger. Motion was the first Apple program to incorporate it. Tiger is not required for Motion, but a Core Video compatible card most certainly is.

  • One of my two screens stays off after coming from standby - OSx 10.10.2 MacMini

When 'reviving' my macmini after not using it for a while one of my screens stays black (The screen stays off so there is no contact from the mac). Even after logging in again the screen stays black.
I can get it to work again by disconnecting both screens and plugging them back in, but that is not a real solution of course. Also, after switching the position of the screens the other screen stays off, so the problem should be in the connection.
I've got a relatively new MacMini with OSx 10.10.2 and have the two screens (same size but not identical) attached via two 'mini displayport to DVI adapters'.
Does anyone have any idea what can cause this?

    Hi Snery,
Welcome to the Apple Support Communities!
I know you have already started some troubleshooting for this situation where your second monitor is not connecting when you wake your Mac mini from sleep. To continue this troubleshooting process, I would suggest reading over and working through the steps in the attached article to help isolate and resolve this issue.

  • Palm Lifedrive wont sync. PC doesn't recognize USB

    Hi,
I'm having a problem hotsyncing my lifedrive. It's worked fine up until now, but all of a sudden, it won't connect. The PC isn't recognizing that I've plugged the cradle in through my USB ports. I've tried this on 2 computers now and still no luck. The metal connectors look clean and dirt free, so I'm at a loss as to what the problem might be.
Thanks in advance for the help,
    TristanD
    Post relates to: LifeDrive

I've tried the hotsync guides and still nothing. However, I decided to try to set up a wireless sync, and it worked like a charm. Since my cradle is still not syncing, I'm leaning towards a physical problem with the connections. Should I talk to Palm to try to get it replaced?

  • How to connect utilize the optical drive in G4PowerPC to a 2013 intel Macmini?

How  do I connect and utilize the optical drive on my G4 PowerPC Macmini with my new Intel Core i5 Macmini running 10.8.4?

You can use your G4's DVD drive with your Mac mini if the old computer has got Mac OS X 10.4.11 or newer. See > http://support.apple.com/kb/HT5287?viewlocale=en_US&locale=en_US

  • ISync Failure working with Missing Sync and Palm Lifedrive

Since the begining of March I have failed to peform a sync between my Palm and G4 Powerbook via Missing Sync v5.2.1
What happens is that a Sync is launched from my Palm cradle which is picked up by my G4, the dialogie suggests that things are being synchronised, but at the end on viewing my Sync History, I get errors reporting that databases on my palm can't be opened. Missing Syncs own conduits for iCal and AB report that they have been 'unregistered'.
Last night I attempted a sync with just 1 conduit active at a time and all failed.
I bought BackUpBuddy, but this two has failed to sync.
Markspace have suggested that I 'reset sync histories' which I have attempted to do. For this I need to open iSync first, however iSync quits during launch.
Anybody got any ideas on how to resolve this? TIA

Now that the response is reposted above, this thread makes more sense…
The (0x400a) errors generally, coupled with an inability to open files on your handheld, suggests that you have insufficient memory on board to perform these tasks. There are several other issues involved, however, so you should address each one by simplifying your configuration to avoid the most obvious ones.
For the time being, turn off the following conduits which do not report errors:
    • Install
    • Life Balance
    • Mark/Space Conduit for iTunes
    • Mark/Space Conduit for iTunes
    • ChronosNotes
    • BackupBuddy
Do that simply by un-checking them in the main window of the Missing Sync for Palm OS. You might want to attempt once again to synchronize, just to determine if anything has changed as a result of turning off these working conduits.
Also, turn off the following failing conduits:
    • Mark/Space Folder Sync
    • Voice Memo
    • Documents To Go*
    • Media
    • Trip
Some may be incompatible with your your LifeDrive, or not properly configured for use with it. See the article below, for example, with regard to the Mark/Space Folder Sync conduit with it:
    http://www.markspace.com/support/kb.php?x=&mod_id=2&id=2553
To avoid some obvious problems with your LifeDrive and the conduits presently installed, you should install the LifeDrive Update 2.0 is you have not already done so. *Among other things, it contains a Documents to Go update:
    http://www.palm.com/us/support/downloads/lifedrive/lifedrive_update.html
You must follow the instructions provided by Palm carefully, as the procedure removes all of the data from your device. Insure that your data is backed up elsewhere before performing this update.
Before attempting to update your LifeDrive, follow these instructions to determine if you need to:
Find out if your LifeDrive device includes the latest LifeDrive Update software
    • on your LifeDrive, press <Home> twice, until the Applications Launcher—not Favorites—appears
    • tap <Menu>
    • from the <App> menu, select <Info>
    • at the bottom of the screen, select <Version>
Look for the application named WiFiLib [HINT: scroll down below the <Wi-Fi> items to <WiFi> with no hyphen.]
    If the version number is…
    • 1.0.6, 1.0.5 or below: you don't have the latest LifeDrive update. Install it
    • 1.0.7: you already have the latest LifeDrive Update. Do not install it again.
Had you not needed to install this update and perform the resulting reset, I would have recommended that you perform a soft reset to see if that procedure resolves any of your issues.

  • Vista/Palm Lifedrive Incompatibility

First I'd like to express my upset over older Palms not being support under Vista.  I've been the owner of 5 Palms over the years.  Perhaps it's time to move on.
That having been said, I read on a thread somewhere where one installs the 6.2 software and then a patch from Pimlico Vista should be able to sync with older Palms.
I installed all of that and plugged my Palm into the USB cradle only to have Vista go looking for drivers, which, of course, it couldn't find.
So, I'm still stuck with being unable to sync my Lifedrive with my Vista OS computer.
    Anyone have any other ideas?
    Gary

Gary, I wrote a thread explaining how to sync a TX with Vista64 via Wifi.  Should be close to your LifeDrive.
