OSX Server Error (NIL_RESPONSE_ERR (** -[NSCFArray objectAtIndex:]: index

I would appreciate some help and guidance troubleshooting an OSX Server Admin problem. The error occurs when trying to access the "Web" service through Server Admin.
I'm okay using the GUI, but would need explicit instructions to work on the Command Line. The server has been well backed up, if restoring a file(s) is easier.
The following welcoming, happy message in Server Admin, running on Mac OSX Server 10.5.7 was received:
The Server has encountered an error. .... Report the problem to the administrator if it persists. (NILRESPONSEERR (** -[NSCFArray objectAtIndex:]: index:]: index (0) beyond bounds (0)))
I grabbed the following error message from the System Log:
webserver servermgrd[53]: servermgr_web: Invalid CustomLog directive '"/Volumes/Web/iCalCalendars/Logs/accesslog"'
Thanks in advance!
Bob

Managed to resolve the problem by restoring the folder from backup, and then restarting the machine.

    Hello everyone,
    I'm using weblogic 6.0 for AIX.
    I'm trying to setup a new web application.
    Right now, I just want to access html files, but the web server is not working
    well.
    I can access the file
    http://myhost/myapp/index.html
    but if I try to access file2.html
    http://myhost/myapp/file2.html
    file2.html is in the same directory, with the same permissions and I get
    the 404
    error message
    At the beginning, I couldn't access index.html, because I created the directory
    "myapp"
    with user "root". Later, I changed the ownership to "wlowner" for "myapp"
    directory
    and for "index.html"
    Then I created "file2.html" with user "wlowner", and provided the same permissions
    as index.html but I can't access it.
    Could someone tell what might be wrong ?
    Any clues ?
    Thanks,

  • Error -36 while copying files to SMB shares but not AFP. (OSX Server APP)

    Hello,
    So far my transition to OSX server has been a sloppy one. I have had so many problems. I have problems with permissions about everyday. Anyhoos, here is my latest problem. Everytime (from any client computer) a computer tries to copy a file or folder to a share using SMB protocol to the osx server i get this message:
    The Finder can’t complete the operation because some data in “File or folder name" can’t be read or written.
    (Error code -36)
    This does NOT happen when copying the same files using AFP protocol. I using a windows box at work, (dialing in throught the VPN) it doesn't seem to have any problems dropping files either. Anyone know whats up? I have read on the site that others are experiencing problems with SMB within OSX servers. Some report that it stright doesn't work!!!!
    Anyhoos, through all my problems, you guys have been VERY helpful to help me work through it. I really appreciate it!!

    Just found a slight work around:
    http://www.macwindows.com/TIP--Workaround-to-Mavericks-file-sharing-is-to-force- SMB.html
    Several readers offered a suggestion for yesterday's report of problems with OS X 10.9 Mavericks accessing some Windows file servers and network attached storage device. Mavericks now defaults to SMB2 file sharing protocol, but a bug seems prevent OS X from using SMB1 or AFP when the server doesn't support the newer SMB2.
    A workaround is to force OS X to use the old SMB1 (also known as SMB/CIFS). To do that, instead of mounting the server using the Finder, use the Connect to Server command in the Finder's Go menu. Then type in the following:
    cifs://server_address (using the IP address or network name of the server)
    Using smb://server_address won't work, as this will use SMB2 to access the device.
    Thanks to Mario Cajina and Kevin Lepard for the suggestion.

    Hi All,
    Thanks for having a look at this.
    The Problem is that at ISA wron g server is maintained and wrong service principal name is maintained adn after changing this the problem is solved.
    From the research i can say that there are 2 things  we need to look at  when we have this issue.
    1. Password
    2. Serviceprincipalname

    Please tell me as to what steps i am missing and also where can i see the log message in portal.
    Thanks
    Sidharath

    hi friends,
    I went through the settings of trex services on server and found out that even after installing IIS 6.0 it was showing the path of Apache that that is i think the reason that httpserver is green but it is not using the CPU resources.I will share the setting with you.
    [queueserver]
    executable=TREXQueueServer.exe
    arguments=-port 30204
    startdir=C:\usr\sap\trex_02
    starttime=5000
    instances=1
    #hp_32:environment=_M_ARENA_OPTS=1:256,_M_SBA_OPTS=512:100:16
    As the executable for queserver is there so it is using cpu resources.
    [apache]
    executable=httpd
    arguments=-d C:\usr\sap\trex_02/Apache -R C:\usr\sap\trex_02/Apache/libexec -F
    startdir=C:\usr\sap\trex_02/Apache/bin
    instances=1
    As there is no folder for apache in trex installation so i think it is not working.Please check the setting in Trex Administration->Configration->Choose name server and on the right botton of it is edit services.Double click it and you will see the settings as i have shown above.Please share the settings with me as i will be then able to work with trex.
    Do i have to install Apache instead of IIS6.0.Please guide me.
    Thanks
    Sidharath

  • Creative Cloud - Unknown Server Error [OSX 10.8.4]

    Hi,
    I've been searching the forums for a while and have not found a soultion to this problem.
    When ever I try and log into CC to update my apps I get the following message:
    "Unknown Server Error - Sign in is currently unavailable. We are unable to access your account. Please try again later."
    I've already tried uninstalling and reinstalling, attempted to clear the cache but I cannot find the opm.db file anywhere. Even through a search.
    Can anyone help?

    Alright. I was being a noob.
    I was in the wrong OOBE folder. The one that the solution referenced is in the hidden libraries folder.
    If anyone else comes across this probelm, here's how to access the folder: http://helpx.adobe.com/x-productkb/global/access-hidden-user-library-files.html
    Thanks for your help KRupani.

  • "unable to get printer status" and "server-error-not-accepting-jobs"

    I've got an Intel Mac Pro with Tiger. When I accepted the latest update from Apple, I lost all my defined printers! I've re-added a local USB printer and a networked Laserjet - fine. But I also added a Phaser 850 color printer (networked) which used to work fine. It connects ok, and opens the printer queue window, but when it tries to print, it says "Unable to get printer status (server-error-not-accepting-jobs". The queue stays active (not stopped) but the jobs don't move. I've tried deleting the printer and re-making it - same deal. What's going on?

    Hi Mike,
    One think I really dislike about OSX is the Rocket Science needed to just Print!
    Might try these two...

    Might try Printer Setup Repair 5.1...

  • Ruby on Rails on OSX Server

    Has any one built or have instructions for installing Ruby on Rails on OSX Server 10.4?
    Do these instructions still apply:
    http://hivelogic.com/narrative/articles/ruby-rails-mongrel-mysql-osx
    And can it play alongside Apache if you use Mongrel as the web server?

    I have been trying for the last couple of weeks to get Ruby on Rails running on OSX Server as well. I followed the instructions on the site you refer to. The whole installation proceeds just fine, I can run my RoR sites locally by running scripts/server, but when trying to access the web site I get a 403 error and the log says "Directory index forbidden by rule".
    I have followed directions from other sites regarding: installing and activating the fastcgi module, setting access rights to various folders and files, modifying the httpd.conf file to allow overwrite all and access to indexes,... No progress. I still can't get the RoR site to work.
