"other" content after changing computers?

I just used my mini to copy all my music to a new computer. I don't have any other content on it and there was no "other" content showing before I did this.
Now Itunes shows almost an equal amount of "other" as I have audio.
Does anyone know what this might be and how to get rid of it? It's eating up a lot of space.
Thanks,
K

Open the iPod in the My Computer window, find the music folder you transferred, and drag it to the Recycle Bin; after prompting you for confirmation, the music should be deleted and the space freed. If doing this doesn't free up the space or you can't find the folder and you have a way of charging the iPod other than a computer's USB ports, use these instructions to restore the iPod.

  • I see lots of "other" content after sync

I had a sync go bad one time during the music sync portion of the operation and since then I have had 3.5gb of other listed in my memory on itunes. How do I access this other content to delete it or confirm it it things that I really want. I believe it is a copy of my music that was being synced at the time because the other content was the same file size as my music content at the time.

I have added and deleted songs and that has not cleared the issue. The problem I have is that I have all my personal contacts on my phone and I do not have them in the computer that I sync with.......... MMMMMMMM guess I will copy my personal contacts and unload the photos and then do the restore. I appreciate your input

  • HP Printer doesn't work after changing computers

After a recent change to a new ASUS computer running Windows 7, I cannot get the Deskjet to print. It was working perfectly before the changeover. I have downloaded HP Print and Scan Doctor.  I am told that the driver is already in the Windows 7 software, however the Doctor reports that " the full software solution for your product is not installed on this computer".
I have tried disconnecting and reconnecting the USB link, but with no success.  (he USB cable is linked via a cord-mounted
25 pinDIP connector to the Deskjet.
It seems that no communication is happening between computer and printer.
I'd much appreciate some helpful comment!
    Thanks

Thank you for your question re my DeskJet710C printing problem.
Yes there is a problem listed in my Device Manager Universal Serial Bus Controllers.
It mentions an Unknown Device with Port_#0002.Hub_#0004. It says no driver files are loaded or have been required for this device.  I have tried changing this Port to 0001 without success.
There is a similar port called USB Printing Support listed with the Device Manager, giving a Driver File:
C:\Windows\System 32\DRIVERS\usbprint.sys    ..... but this doesn't seem to exist on my current system.
I have tried downloading it from the net, but without success - I guess it needs installing on the Registry (?).
Should I use something like RegCure to get this installed?
    Many thanks

  • How do I get my playlists back after changing computers and operating systems?

Bought a new computer and got upgraded 64 bit OS.  Used PC Mover to move everything from old PC to new one.  Itunes did not come with it.  Went into Itunes to download 64 bit version and after several iterations of problems with getting the right version, seemed to work and I could see many of my songs in the window when downloading.
However, when I finally got to Itunes, it opens but no playlists are visible.  Authorized computer.  Followed some websites that said take an old playlist and copy it over to Itunes folder by renaming 'itl' library from new to old and back again. Still doesn't work.
    Help.
    Ben.

not sure i get this.  how do i create new ones?  if i sync my ipod, will i also lose all the songs i have on it?
what about audiobooks stuff...is that gone also?

  • Importing from iPod Mini after changing computers

I apologize I am not overly familiar with iTunes and iPods. I am trying to help my niece with issues that she is having with her iPod mini. Their original computer had issues and so a new computer was purchased. Since changing to the new computer we cannot get the music that is on the iPod mini to download to the computer. She would like to be able to put some of the music on a CD. Is there a way to get the music off the iPod other than completely deleting it?

There are a number of third party utilities you can use to retrieve the files from your iPod. This is just a selection.
    YamiPod Mac and Windows Versions
    PodUtil Mac and Windows Versions
    iPodCopy Mac and Windows Versions
    PodPlayer Windows Only
    iPodAgent Windows Only
Have a look at the web pages and documentation for these and pick one you are happy with they are generally quite straightforward. There is also a manual method of accessing the iPod's hard drive on Windows posted in this thread: MacMuse - iPod to iTunes

  • After changing the context path, felix console, I can not checkout content via vlt.

    Hi everyone,
I have the following issue. After changing the context path, via felix console, I can not checkout the content via vlt. Before that, I could checkout without any problems.
    I am using CQ5.5, CRX2.3, context path: /Test
That is what I am trying:
    vlt -v --credentials admin:admin co http://localhost:23310/Test/server/crx.default
Connecting via JCR remoting to http://localhost:23310/Test/server
[WARN ] Authentication required to access repository descriptors
[ERROR] checkout: com.day.jcr.vault.vlt.VltException: Unable to mount filesystem
    caused by: javax.jcr.ItemNotFoundException: Not Found
    caused by: org.apache.jackrabbit.webdav.DavException: Not Found
    Other versions I tried:
    vlt -v --credentials admin:admin co http://localhost:23310/crx
    vlt --credentials admin:admin co http://localhost:23310/Test/server
    vlt --credentials admin:admin co http://localhost:23310/Test
    vlt --credentials admin:admin co http://localhost:23310/Test/crx
To verify if I could connect to the instance properly I started CRXDE
and try to connect to "http://localhost:23310/Test"
After click the ok button I got that error:

  • I have the iPhone 4. I recently switched from PC to IMac. I am trying to sync my iPhone, but iTunes will not let me add or remove anything. Do I need to change a setting since I changed computers? Help!

I have the iPhone 4. I recently switched from PC to IMac. I am trying to sync my iPhone, but iTunes will not let me add or remove anything. Do I need to change a setting since I changed computers? I try to add songs from my music into my phone section and it will not go... Plus the playlists on my phone are not updated on my iTunes phone on my computer. Its like it never updated. What am I doing wrong??

Iphone will sync with one computer at a time.
When you sync to another it will delete the current content.
Make sure you have copied everything from your old computer to your new one first.

  • On my windows Itunes I changed computers and ended up with two of every song. How do I delete the duplicates without doing it one at a time?

I have duplicates of all the songs on my windows 7 computer.  I changed computers and ended up with duplicates of all of my songs. How can I delete them all without having to do it one at a time? thanks!

Apple's official advice is here... HT2905 - How to find and remove duplicate items in your iTunes library. It is a manual process and the article fails to explain some of the potential pitfalls.
Use Shift > View > Show Exact Duplicate Items to display duplicates as this is normally a more useful selection. You need to manually select all but one of each group to remove. Sorting the list by Date Added may make it easier to select the appropriate tracks, however this works best when performed immediately after the dupes have been created.  If you have multiple entries in iTunes connected to the same file on the hard drive then don't send to the recycle bin.
Use my DeDuper script if you're not sure, don't want to do it by hand, or want to preserve ratings, play counts and playlist membership. See this thread for background and please take note of the warning to backup your library before deduping.
(If you don't see the menu bar press ALT to show it temporarily or CTRL+B to keep it displayed)

  • Some, but not all, podcasts existing on the iPod no longer appear in iTunes. Different podcasts have been affected at different times, after changes in the state of the iPod. Only podcasts are affected.

I have not seen this precise issue addressed anywhere. I don’t know if it’s an iTunes or an iPod problem:
    - Some, but not all, podcasts existing on the iPod no longer appear in iTunes;
this, after normal behavior for more than a year since purchase of the iPod.
    - Different podcasts have been affected at different times, after changes in the state of the iPod.
    - Only podcasts are affected.
    - This concerns an iPod nano 6th gen. and iTunes 11.0.2 (26) on System 10.6.8
    - The only change to iTunes, the Mac, or the iPod is that just before this condition began
I’d begun syncing an iPhone via iTunes.
I sync manually (“manually manage music and videos”). The first time this happened, I wanted to delete seventeen podcast episodes (all belonging to one podcast) existing on the iPod — but they didn’t show up in iTunes. I tried re-downloading them and re-syncing, to see if the new versions would somehow “re-link” to iTunes. They didn’t. Only one — new — episode appeared in iTunes.
I ultimately reset the iPod and manually resynced all the podcasts I currently had on iTunes. That worked, though I had to painstakingly add in all the other content deleted by the reset.
So: after that reset and manual sync, all podcasts and episodes on the iPod were visible to iTunes and I was able to delete the podcast and its — now 18 — episodes I’d wanted to get rid of to begin with. But the next time I connected the iPod, only 8 podcast episodes out of 21 episodes total existing on the iPod were visible to iTunes. These are different podcasts; I’d deleted the original “invisible” ones.
By “visible,” I mean in the “Podcasts” list view under “[name]’s iPod” in the iTunes sidebar. If I select “[name]’s” iPod in the iTunes sidebar and the “Podcasts” tab, all podcasts and episodes are visible, though greyed out because I’m set to sync manually. It’s unclear to me if these are the podcasts on the iPod or those currently in iTunes, as they are currently the same. If I switch to syncing automatically, all content on the iPod will be lost again, so I’m not up to trying it at the moment.
As I said,  this involves only podcasts. All other content on the iPod does appear in iTunes.

I have the same problem- i see my movies in the ipod section in itunes and they even show as mpeg4 in the 'kind' section but they dont have that small TV icon next to them. if i play these in itunes, they play fine- but try playing them on the ipod and all you hear is the sound and no picture. All videos that i manually transfer work fine in the beginning- its when i hook up the ipod to the comp again and start itunes- they start showing up without the 'tv' icon!! i have to again transfer them from the itunes library to activate them as videos.
    Need Help!!!

    Dear Ashutosh,
Thanks for guiding us to correct location.
What we identified is we connected portal to the LDAP
of EP 5.0 while migrating the content. After migration we
    have formatted the 5.0 system.
Now that portal is connected to that LDAP which is
not existing the problem is coming.
Is there any way through CONFIGURATION tool I can remove
    that connectivity to LDAP?
I am trying to configure LDAP again on the same server
but before to that if some one can hint me how to
remove the LDAP configuration from the Portal I would
    be very much thankful..
    regards

  • No display of iview content after cache properties are set

    Hello,
In an effort to improve the portal performance we activated the Iview Load Parameters(Cache level, validity, client side caching etc) and after that we are not seeing any content of the iview in the portal.
    Cache level - Shared
    Cache validity - 24 hrs
    client side caching - yes.
All the views are pointing to KM folders.
If we change the Cache level to none then iview content is visible.
I have flushed the cache but it didnt work either.
Do we have to set any other parameters to support caching Portal KM configuration or Visual adminstrator.
Let me know how to display the content after the caching parameters are set for iview so as to improve the performance.
    Thanks,
    Praveen
    Let me know what

    Hi Praveen,
Activating Caching on KM (Navigation, for example) "works", but makes no sense. I don't know on what SP level you are, but I just checked it on SP18:
Take a Nav iView which points to - for example - /documents/xmlform. With your settings, if User A opens the iView and navigates to the subfolder "preview", and then UserB opens the iView, UserB immediately sees /documents/xmlform/preview, instead of the upper folder.
So, on one hand it "works", on the other, in many cases you might have unexpected results on KM iViews.
To improve KM performance, the first step always is to follow the performance guide: http://service.sap.com/~sapidb/011000358700004976172005E.PDF
    Hope it helps
