OTL - Adding additional Input Value

Hi,
I am trying to modify the timecard layout to add Rate field. The idea is user should be able to enter Hours and Rate paid. I added a input value 'Rate' as sequence 12 to the element. after this submitted the process 'Generate Flexfield and Mapping information' and enabled and displayed the segements for Hours and Rate in the OTL Information Types DFF.
Now i defined a new context called Rate in OTL Alternate Names DFF and added 3 segments to it. PAYROLL_ELEMENTS, IDENTIFIER and RATE. Defined Alternate Mapping also.Modified the layout through ldt. i can see the field displayed in the timecard layout, though no label for it.
But when i enter a value in this field ( also hours ) and click continue i am getting a error message "you have entered some time information without associating any time with that information.Enter some time for this information, or remove it". When i delete the value in this field leaving only hours it goes through fine. I am modifying the Payroll Layout.
appreciate your help in resolving the issue. I referred OTL White Paper. If you have any other useful documents for this purpose please share with me.
Many Thanks
Chandra

Hi Shiv,
I am trying to display the rate field in place of cost centre on the time card so that user can enter the Hours Type and Rate and then enter the number of hours each day in the week. the below code is added to generate a text field

When i load the ldt and click on Create Timecard button getting the following null pointer exception error. i am copying parts of error message as it is too long.

  • OTL (Additional Input Value) help greatly appreciated

    Hi there,
I have a requirement where we wish to use OTL for a front end to a number of allowances which require the population of additional input values on the element. These could be for example miles travelled or the method of travel.
Does anyone know how this can be done?
I am envisaging creating an element with the following input values :-
    Hours
    Multiple
    Rate
    Rate Code
    Miles
I need the additional field to be displayed on the timecard. Does this require custom timecard templates? How do I make the additional field on the timecard populate the Miles input value when the time entry is transferred from OTL to BEE.
Any advice on this would be very greatly appreciated.
Many Thanks and have a great week
    Kev

You need to follow these steps:
    1. Add the input values to your Element, check element link, include the element to your element set, run "generate flexfield process" with the above element set.
    2. Create mapping components for each of the new fields which you want to show on the timecard to let system know which column these attributes will get mapped to.
    3. Add the mapping components to your receiving application's Retrieval and Deposit process.
    4. Now modify your timecard layouts to show the additional fields you want to show.

  • OTL: Additional Input Values on Timekeeper

    Hello team,
I have a requirement where I need to have an additional field on Timekeeper form called "Unique Hours". For this I did the following steps:
    1. Created this additional input value in the relevant element.
    2. Added to element set and ran Generate... process.
    3. Created a value set.
    4. Registered the input value + value set in Alternate Name Mapping and then with Alternate Name Definition.
    5. Also put in the Alternate Names Definition for timekeeper.
After doing this, I can see the new field on the TK screen and enter value in it but it doesnt transfer to BEE.
I need some real help on this please.
    Thanks in advance...

Have you defined the mapping component for the new input value and added it to the retrieval process?

  • Adding additional input languages

    Hello,
I am trying to add an additional input language and have done the following so far but input is still English when I switch to Korean.
Control - Panel - Region Language - Change Keyboards or other input methods
Keyboards and Languages tab - Change keyboards - General tab - Add - Korean
When I toggle to Korean on the Language bar and type, it's still in English so I must be missing a step or two.
I am using Windows 7 Pro 64 bit.
    Thanks in advance.

Windows 7 language packs are available for computers that are running Windows 7 Ultimate or Windows 7 Enterprise.

    Cause
The Error 'FRM-41051: You cannot create records here' arises because there are existing element entries for this element.
An input value cannot be added to an element if element entries exist for that element or input
value date is greater than the start date of the element.

Title: Cannot Create A User Defined Input Value For A State
    Retirement Plan Deduction Element
    Symptoms
In the element description form you cannot add new input values for a deduction element. You get
this error when creating new input value:
FRM-41051 You cannot create records here
The deduction element is a newly created element.
    Cause
When adding the input values Datetrack date was not proper.
    Fix
Make sure there are no element entries existing for the element.
Make sure to date track to the date when the element was created.
    Solution
Because the application looks at three conditions before it will allow you to add an input value
to an element, if one of those conditions are met it will not allow you to create the element entry.
In your case 2 are being met so the system will not allow you to create the element entry.
    1- element entries exist
2- state date of the new input value is greater than the element start date
    Conditions being looked at:
    element_entries_exist or
no_of_input_values for the element is > 15 or
    :ctl_globals.session_date != element_start_date
There is no workaround for scenario, you need to create a new element.
결과적으로 말씀드리면, 한번 입력된 Element에 대해서는
아래의 두가지 속성을 모두 충족하지 않는 한,
Input Value를 추가로 입력하실 수 없습니다.
    신규로 Element를 지정해주셔야 합니다.
    1. Make sure there are no element entries existing for the element.
==> 해당 Element에 대한 Element Entry가 없어야 합니다.
    2. Make sure to date track to the date when the element was created.
==> 신규 Input Value를 입력하려는 DateTrack날짜가 Element가 생성된 날짜와 같아야 합니다.

  • OTL Timekeeper Form Custom Field map to specific Element Input Value

    Hello Everyone,
    I have the below requirement.
    1. Create a custom field in OTL Timekeeper Form. This field is based on the Element Selected on the timecard.
    2. Once the Timecard is transferred to Payroll, the custom field should go to a specific input value of that element.
I know how to perform Step 1 above. But i am unable to find out how i can map the value in custom field to a specific Input value of the element.
    Any inputs are appreciated.
    Regards,
    Jay

    Any tips people?
    Can this be achieved?
This is what i have done so far.
    1. Created a new Value set for the custom field.
    2. Created an alternate mapping to map the value set value to InputValue13.
    3. Created the alternate name.
    4. Added the alternate name to 'OTL Alternate Names' DFF.
    5. Added the Alternate name to the 'Preferences'.
    Testing:
    1. Created a Timecard populating the custom field.
    2. Timecard submitted and approved successfully.
    3. I verified that the custom field value goes into attribute13 of hxc_time_attributes where the attribute category is the corresponding element (should it be against the attribute category: Dummy Element Context? If Yes, then how to do it?).
    4. Then i ran the program 'Transfer Time from OTL to BEE'. This transferred the values into hxt_timecards_f, hxt_sum_hours_worked_f, hxt_det_hours_worked_f. But nowhere in these tables do i see the custom value.
Did i miss any step? I did not define anything in the 'Define Mapping Components' of Deposit/Retrieval Process because InputValue13 is already part of it unter type 'Dummy Element Context'.
    5. Since it is not in hxt tables, i did not find it in pay_batch tables too.
    Any guidance is appreciated.
    Regards,
    Jay

  • VAT amount adding to Inventory value where Input credit is not available

    Dear All,
We want to capture the VAT amount adding to Inventory value where Input credit is not available.
As per the current practice, the Inventory valuation is going wrong as the VAT portion comes to the Inventory a/c at a subsequent date (when AP Invoice is done) instead of on the date of GRPO.
We want to add the vat amount to inventory value at GRPO level.
    Regards,
    Arbaaz.

    Hi Joseph,
    My exact requirement is ...
There are some Inventory Items purchased with (Vat input not avaIlable) for my company. It means that Vat is not applicable for those Items.
So the Vat part of the amount should be added to the Item cost in my Inventory valuation.
But my situation is that , i need to show vat calculation at Purchase Order level as per my Vendors request. After that ultimately total document cost should be my Inventory cost.
This is where i am struck.
    Regards
    Arbaaz.

  • Catch Elements Where no Input Value Added

    Hello
Before I begin can I just say I'm new to Oracle HRMS so if I say/state something stupid please bear with me!
I have a non-recurring earnings element that has two input values, one to hold the pay value that is created via Fast Formula (very simply multiplies the Number of Units by a Unit Rate held as Global Variable) and a second that allows user to enter a number of Units, this value is passed into my formula. This part is all fine and works. Where I’m getting into trouble/can’t figure out is around the area of input validation.
I’ve then created a second fast formula to validate input and then made a reference to the fast formula through the elements Input Values screen and returned result as error. Most of my validation in here is fine however I’m trying to figure out how do I figure out if the user hasn’t placed or has removed a value from element after its been attached?
Let’s say I’ve attached my element to my assignment. I then go in and add 3 units. At this stage everything is fine and I save record. Then let’s say I go back in a remove the units entered and saved my record. Is there anyway I can get a message which says a null value has been entered? Is this something I do through a fast formula? I tried using isnull function but this doesn’t work. I’ve also tried defaulting my value in the fast formula and using was defaulted but again it doesn’t seem to work.
Thanks for bearing with me! Any pointers/help would be gratefully received.

Hello. My Element Input Validation Fast formula is
    Inputs are entry_value (text)
    IF ISNULL(entry_value) = 'Y' then
    (formula_Status = 'e'
    formula_message = 'Must enter something')
    If to_num(entry_value) < 1 or to_num(entry_value) >= 40
    then
    (formula_Status = 'e'
formula_message = 'Night Duty overtime hours only claimable from 1 to 40 hours')
    ELSE
    (formula_Status = 's'
    formula_message = ' ')
    RETURN formula_Status,formula_message

  • How can I stay on the same line  when inputting values in the CLI?

The title is a bit vague i know :) but i have this issue which isn't really a problem but it would be better if I can solve it.
    Intro)
I've made this simple addition (and more options but thats not relevant) application for kids in my spare time so that they can train their maths in school and compare their results with other students which is saved in the database using the hypersonic DB that comes with the JBoss application server.
Now so far so good, but i'm having an issue with the Scanner (I think, but i doubt its because of the CLI) , when i enter a number or text it works and exceptions will be catched etc but when i press the enter key without anything entered the input value wil be displayed a line below and that's not what I want. I want it to stay in the same line.

I'll take a look at the CURSES implementation thanks.

  • How can I run the report for different input values at the same time?

    Reports version: Report Builder 6.0.8.13.1
Oracle version: Oracle8i Enterprise Edition Release 8.1.7.0.0
I want to run the same report for different input parameter values and spool each o/p to different file and ftp to a server. For this, as a first step, I am spooling different input values in to a file, reading those values through a loop and calling the report for that input values. Each report run/execution is taking 15 minutes. Total report execution is taking approximately 4 hours (assuming 16 different input values) to complete. So I have to wait 4 hours to see ALL outputs.
I would like to run the report parallel for ALL the input values and I should be able to see the ALL outputs with in 15 or 16 minutes.
In my shell script, I added & symbol at the end of the report call to start/run the job in the background. Due to this the control passed to the next step after the report call. At this place I have an ftp command to send the output file to a different server and it is giving error some thing like “o/p file is not available/created yet". This is due to the fact that report writer is NOT yet completely started/initiated or it is NOT completed the spooling.
How can I run the report at the same time for all the input values and save the time?
    Thanks in advance.
    Kishore.

Increase the number of server engines running right now it seems there is only one engine running ,increase it to 4 or 6
and then atleast 4 or 6 reports will run simultaneously.
For FTPing the output add to your sript to check whether it is locked and if not then only try to ftp .
Also for more better functionality read the document (chapter 15 ) for 10g reports for its new fuinctionality.

SPRO -> Financial accounting ( new ) -> accounts receivable and accounts payable-> customer accounts ->line items -> display line items -> define additional fields for line item dispaly
here i added bseg - pernr
after adding , in FBL5N layout the field is appearing , but it is displaying blank in output  .
Is there any thing needs to be done to display additional field in output of FBL5N.

    Hi,
    FBL5N: customer line item display.
    BSEG-PERNR: personnel number.
Under which circumstances should BSEG-PERNR contain a value if you create customer related postings?
If there is no personnel number given during posting (why should it?)  the field added to the FBL5N-layout will be empty.

  • Adding new constant value to an 'enum' used in a field causes an exception

We are using the DPL. I added a new constant to an enum that is used as a field on an entity called Booking (this field is not a key). This seems to cause an exception during onForeignKeyDelete when we delete an object from a related entity. The constraint is a "NULLIFY" on a "MANY_TO_ONE" relationship, so the effect should be just to nullify the Booking foreign key, but for some reason the fields are being checked and causing this exception. Shouldn't it be possible to add a new constant value to an enum without having to do some sort of migration? The stack is below. Note that the two types mentioned in the exception message are in fact the same (this is the enum). For the moment we can truncate our database, because we are still in development, but this would present a problem in production.

    James,
I've started investigating this and at first look it does appear to be a DPL bug. Over the next few days I'll look more deeply and report back here with what I find. If it is indeed a bug, we'll fix this for the next JE 4.0.x release and I'll make the fix available to you.
You are correct that adding enum values is allowed without a conversion of any kind. The only change you should have to make, other than adding the enum value, is to bump the version of the containing entity in the @Entity annotation. I'm suspect you've already done that, but if you hadn't, it wouldn't cause the problem you're seeing.
We have tested the addition of enum values, but not in combination with foreign key deletion and the NULLIFY constraint, I'm afraid.
If I'm correct about it, the bug is specific to adding enum values and deleting a secondary key with the NULLIFY constraint, prior to re-writing the entity in some other way. So if the entity is updated (written) before the secondary key is deleted, then the problem should not occur. Therefore, one workaround is to call EntityStore.evolve after adding the enum value, and before using the store in other ways.
Thanks for reporting this, and I hope this is not blocking your development.

you can add flexibility by adding the module key parameters. Base the code as a reference where the author uses parameters configured in the adapter to be used to in the logic

    Thank you in advance

    Hi
No there isn't.  You have to use additional components like a Spreadsheet or Grid component, or even individual Labels to get the values 'onto' the graphic.
