OTL Overtime Implementation

Dear All,
We need to implement overtime. What is the best way to achieve this in OTL.
Should we define the Overtime Hour type and employee should enter the overtime separately using this hour type. And overtime payment will be given as per the rule to this overtime.
OR
We will use the shift differential policy for separating extra hour worked and treat them as Overtime. And overtime payment will be done to this hours entered.
Many many thanks in advance.

OTL provides the facility to calculate OT based on your setup, hence always use that. If you allow users to manually enter OT, then someone will have to manually verify all the timecards for OT calculation, that beats the purpose of automation.

    Hi
I've a requrement that in the Self Service Time card. If the Overtime > 60 hours in a month then it should display a comment or message saying he has exceeded the overtime hours.
Is that possible. Please advice how can we able to achieve this functionality. We are having CRP next week for this

I believe that you haven't created the messge which you are trying to use. Please create the message through Application Developer > Applications > Messages and then refer to that in your rule. Check the seeded rules for Tokens available like for the message text "The following time entry rule has been violated (RAD Daily Minimum Hours)", the message name is HXC_WTD_PERIOD_MAXIMUM and passed token is TER name.
Let me know if you are still having issues.

  • OTL Timecard Error

    Hello:
Our environment is 11.5.10.2. We have OTL partially implemented as much as it is necessary for PO/REQ/OTL/ECO approvals to flow through via email.
During this past weekend, 8 timecards were rejected because the supervisor (as contained in the HR assignment) was end-dated for un-related reasons. Therefore, there was no where for those timecards to go except to my notifications inbox.
Now - here's my question - can I use an EBS responsibility like Global OTL Administrator or OTL Super Timekeeper to re-submit these errored timecards or is the only option left to me to ask these 8 individuals to re-submit their timecards for the previous week?
    Thanks much

If you have got timekeeper setup, then create a TK group with these 8 employees and select those timecard and resubmit it.

  • OTL Shift Differential setup for Overtime

    Hi
I am new to OTLR. I am finding it difficult to setup different overtime rules with different policies.
    Scenario1:
Type: Daily               Element: DO-Overtime 1.5     Number of Hours: 0 -12
    Type: Daily               Element: DO-Doubletime 2.0     Number of Hours: >12 and <= 24
    Senario2:
Type: Daily               Element: OT-1.2          Number of hours: 0           <= 24
Type: Holiday          Element: OT-2.2     Number of hours:           <= 24
Labor A is called to work on a day when which is not his regular day of work. Scenario1 is implemented.
Labor B is called on July 3rd to work on July 4(Holiday). Since he is called with less than a day notice hence Senario2 is implement.
Can this be implemented using Oracle standard Functionality - Shift differential and defining Respective Elements.
Any Help or guidance would be great.
    PS

I have managed to resolve this issue myself and therefore does not require answering. The only reason why I couldn't get this to work was simply because the element I was trying to use wasn't linked to all payrolls, though I managed to fully complete the set up.

  • OTL Implementation Questions

    Dear All,
I have an OTL requirement something like this -
    1. HRMS is installed and Payroll is Shared
    2. Have a legacy system that will feed HRMS/OTL on a monthly basis the begining
balances like Vacation, Sick, Bereavement etc.
    3. Need to create Timekeeper Groups (Assignment Sets) only, no Self Service,
but need to incorporate Time Entry Validation rules
    4. Show Begining Balances, usage and Monthly Totals in the Layout.
    5. Allow Corrections
    6. Have a placeholder on the layout, once TK gets paper signature
    7. Interface ending balances back to legacy system (BEE/System Extract ?)
    Questions:
    1. Does payroll need to be defined and assigned to assignments, for Time Elements?
    2. Any pointers as to how to achieve each of the above
    Thanks a ton
    Srinivasa

    Hi Ramu -
    Q1.
The reason I am asking about payroll is, because for OTL we need to setup nonrecurring elements, right?
But the HRMS guide (Part No. B31613-03) says -
    "Duration of Element Entries
Some entries are valid for one pay period only. For example, to produce an employee's
wages or overtime pay for a period you process the entries of regular hours worked or
overtime hours. You define these elements with the processing type nonrecurring.
Notice that pay periods are determined by the payroll to which an employee is
assigned. Employees must be assigned to a payroll to receive nonrecurring elements,
even if you are entering these for information only and not processing them.
Other entries, such as salary or company car, should persist until you change them, or
they reach their end date, or the employee's assignment changes so that he or she is no
longer eligible for the element. You define these elements with the processing type
    recurring.
    Q2.
Could you let me know how to customize the Timekeeper layout to show the Monthly Begining Balances from Legacy system, current usage and the monthly ending balances. Do we have to create three element types for e.g. "Begining Vacation", "Vacation Usage" and "Ending Vacation".
    Thanks

  • OTL - 9-80 Workweek

    Dear Friends,
This is my very first OTL assignment, and I have been presented a very challenging project for a start. Hence, I request all the OTL Gurus out there to help me accomplish this task.
We are implementing a new workpaln at our client called the 9-80 Workweek, i.e., in the
First week of the pay periods, the work hours will be as follows
    M T W Th F Sa Su
    9 9 9 9 8 - -
Second week of the pay periods, the work hours will be as follows
    M T W Th F Sa Su
    9 9 9 9 - - -
The time is transferred to HRMS/Payroll every week.
When this happens, we wish to do the following:
    i) in the First week of the Transfer Time from OTL to BEE
we must take the last four hours of the First Friday and
transfer it to the hours worked of the Second Friday.
ii) If the employee works more than 8 hours on the first Friday,
We will only pass the last 4 hours to the second Friday,
and any hours in excess of 40 hours in the first week will
    be treated as Overtime.
The employee only gets to work on the first Friday of the pay period, the second Friday is off.
Irrespective of how many hours, he may put in on the first Friday of the pay period,
ONLY the last 4 hours will be moved to the Friday of the second week in the pay period and the rest remain with the Friday of the first week in the pay period.
    We are using the OTLR.
The Timecard Period is: Saturday through Friday
The timecards are processed on a weekly basis.
Please, can anybody suggest as to what would be the best approach to achieve this. Any guidance would be greatly appreciated.
    Thanks in Advance,
    Shekar

As you might be knowing that OTL doesn't support 9-80 schedule out of the box, there is no straight forward approach for this work.
Basic reason of non-support of 9-80 schedule is that OTL only supports daily and weekly earning policy while 9-80 schedule is based on a bi-weekly period with an uneven spread of hours over this period.
Having a weekly payroll period instead of a bi-wwekly period also makes your task more difficult.
One approach will be to make use of the time entry rules and fast formulas to achieve your custom rules. Just an approach, not a sure solution.
Another approach would be to write your own rules engine and work on the time data once it is in the exploded form in HXT schema.

  • OTL Hour Deduction Policy

OTL Newb here so go gentle :)
I have a requirement where I need to deduct for unpaid breaks in OTL. E.g. you work 12 hours but get paid for 11.
I've setup an Hour Deduction policy in OTL and was going to apply this in the Assignment Time Information form, but the earnings policy is mandatory. I've not setup any policies and dont particularly want to at this point in time due to the short implementation time scale I have and the vast number of rules around who can claim what and how much.
I just need a simple rule where if you claim 12 hours on Basic Hours, then the system deducts 1 hour for an unpaid break. I am not interested in breaking down hours into regular and overtime.
Anyone got any ideas on how I can set that up?

Unfortunately Earning Policy is mandatory, you can create a simple Earning Policy with just one rule (say : Regular : 99 hours)

  • Want to print the whole month with or without overtime for each employee

    Hi,
I have Oracle forms/reports10g R2, Below query returns employee overtime correctly but I want to add the whole month with it in simple words if one employee have overtime for five days in a month I want the query to return the whole month including five overtime days for each employee and let say if we have ten employees query return whole month for each employee either he have or overtime or not how can I implement this in report it becomes agony for me, anyone please suggest a solution.
    Thanks and regards, Khawar.
    ---Query---
    select o.ot_date , o.start_dt_time as start_time, o.end_dt_time as end_time, o.ot_details, et.holiday, et.staff_id, e.staff_name, e.desig
    from overtime o, emp_ot et, employee e
    where o.complain_no = et.complain_no
    and o.inc_type_code = et.inc_type_code
    and et.staff_id = e.staff_id
    order by 1, 2, 3, e.staff_id

    Hi Michael,
Thanks for reply, I think I didn't explain as I should, I want to print Overtime report for each employee let say employee A123 did overtime for five days in DEC than what I want is to print report for employee A123 for the whole month means when I print report blank cell should come where A123 don't have data (I mean other 25/26 days).
The structure of tables are as
    SQL> desc overtime
    Name Null? Type
    COMPLAIN_NO NOT NULL NUMBER(5)
    OT_DATE NOT NULL DATE
    START_DT_TIME NOT NULL DATE
    INC_REF_NO NUMBER(5)
    END_DT_TIME NOT NULL DATE
    INC_TYPE_CODE NOT NULL VARCHAR2(10)
    DISTRICT_CODE VARCHAR2(6)
    BUSBAR_VOL VARCHAR2(5)
    OT_DETAILS VARCHAR2(2000)
    SQL> desc EMP_OT
    Name Null? Type
    STAFF_ID NOT NULL VARCHAR2(8)
    COMPLAIN_NO NOT NULL NUMBER(5)
    INC_TYPE_CODE NOT NULL VARCHAR2(10)
    HOLIDAY NUMBER
Each employee associated with primary key i.e COMPLAIN_NO and INC_TYPE_CODE
in each OVERTIME table record we may have more than one employee in EMP_OT table.
above detail may clear my query.
    Thanks and Regards,
    Khawar.

  • OTL and Purchasing /Account payable

Anyone have done OTL integration with purchasing/Account payable?
I saw a module called Procurement Services and it said it can get data from OTL Timecard for managing the payment to contractor. I try to get some info about it.

You can send the Time from OTL to Purchasing, but you cannot directly send the time to AP. OTL is not having integration with AP directly.
So you cana implement OTL with the service procecurment and from there you can transfer the data to AP.

  • Overtime calculation in TM00.

    Hi Experts,
I am implementing positive time management and requirement for overtime calculation is as follows:
if employee works number of hours more than his/her daily work schedule the overtime wage type should get generated for the excess hours.
e.g. employee's daily working hours are 8 hrs (9 to 6 with 1 hour unpaid break) and if he/she works till 9 in night but he/she was out off the office for 1 hour from 4 to 5 then only "2" hours overtime should get calculated.
currently 3 hrs overtime wage type (1OVT) is getting generated using GWT M ZML.
For work around I thought of keeping this 3 hrs OT as it is but creating one more deduction wage type (1DDC) for absence hour (pair 4 to 5) I have assigned the processing type as "A" for this pair type using V_T555Z and define the generation rule for generating the wage type fpr this in V_T510S but function DEFTP is changing the processing type of this absence hour pair to "S" again because of which the wage type (1DDC) is not getiing generating.
Please suggest how to proceed with this. If you have any other solution please suggest.
    Thanks in advance.

  • OTL Time Cards to PA Integration. - All Time cards are imported into One OU

    Hi,
At our site, we have implemented OTL to support PA. (No Payroll/HRMS).
We have created multiple selfservice Time Resp for each Operating Units. The MO Operating Unit for the responsibility is set to corresponding OU for each responsibility.
    The issue is that,
When the Time cards are approved and the PRC: Transaction Import is ran for each operating unit (again difft responsibility for each OU), it is not importing the time cards into the respective OU in PA. Rather When we run the PRC: Transaction Import in US operating unit, all the Timecards are imported in the US OU.
We found, For all the OTL time cards, the ATTRIBUTE1 for the "SECURITY" Attribute category is 84 (which is US OU) in hxc_time_attributes table.
which configruation controls this ? Why the MO: Operating Unit is not used to populate the value or is there any other profile which needs to be set to get the right OU?
Any help on this is greatly appreciated.
    Thanks
    Chidambaram

Please check and confirm whether you have the profile 'HR:Business Group' set to corresponding BGs for the respective time entry responsibilities.

  • How to get OTL Alternate Name From (Timekeeper or Employee) Preference

    Hi there
In the current implementation our OTL functional consultant setup Alternate Name Definition:-
    FOR EMPLOYEE Preference as follows:-
Definition Name = XX Employee DEF
    Alternate Name
    Leave Without Pay
    Values (DFF)
Payroll Element (ATTRIBUTE1) “LEAVE NO PAY”
Expenditure Type (ATTRIBUTE2) “Absence No Pay”
    System Type (ATTRIBUTE3) “SYTEM”
    ID (ATTRIBUTE4) “Employee”)
Definition Name = XX TIME KEEPER DEF
FOR TIME KEEPER Preference as follows:-
    Leave Without Pay
    Values (DFF)
Payroll Element (ATTRIBUTE1) “LEAVE NO PAY”
Expenditure Type (ATTRIBUTE2) “Absence No Pay”
    System Type (ATTRIBUTE3) “SYTEM”
    ID (ATTRIBUTE4) “Timekeeper”)
So If employee Go Enter Leave himself he get XX Employee DEF “ALTERNATE NAME”
AND IF Time Keeper go Enter Record for employee, he use Time Keeper “XX TIME KEEPER DEF” Setup
My Question is how I can build a query to get the Alternate Name for that selected Leave. I am able to get the element easily, I use to do it when there is one to one relationship between ELEMENT & ALTERNATE NAME.
    Regards
    Discoverer

Your question is not clear. Why do you want to get the alternate name?
You can always get that from the employee OTL preference setup and yes, based on whether you check the employee or the TK , it will be different.

  • OTL Self Service Customisation Question

I am currently going through our implementation of OTL and I am looking to make a few changes, I have a reasonable grasp of most of it and how it all fits together but I can't for the life of me figure out one thing.
In the ldt files for the entry/review/confirmation etc, the code is referring to all kinds of fields which appear to be references to values in the timecard.
These include stuff like hxccuiprojectid, hxccuitaskprojectid, hxccuitetprojectid.
These values seem very similar to the a few we have setup in the AK Regions but I can not find the full set in there..
Can anyone tell me where the hell these values are setup and what exactly they point to, or is there some kind of variable format you use which Oracle just understands and it's just not very well documented?

    Hi,
I had a look at document 788130.1 and while I am not currently having problems with the length of attribute6 there is mention of changing the AK Attributes.
The problem I have is there does not appear to be all the attributes being referenced in attribute6 present as AK attributes.
Basically I can't find the attributes such as hxccuittaskprojectid, etc....

  • OTL Multiple Approver Levels

In OTL while defining Approvers, We have defined HR Supervisor as Approver for Human Resources Applications. Now we want to set second approver level, which can be person/ or formula.
But when I defined another level with same Application it gives an error that I can not have two rows for same application. Then how can I implement above functionality using approval style

I guess you can achieve it using Entry Level Aprovals.
    1. Define a empty Time category(TC1)..i.e. just select Dummy Element context, do not select any element name (its implied that Time category includes all elements)
    2. In the Approval style scree, select Entry level approvals as the approval mechanism.
    3. Click Entry Level approval fragments button
    4. Define as follows
    Row1=> TC1 - HR Supervisor - 1 (seq)
    Row2=> TC1 - Person - <person name> - 2(seq)
    I guess it should work
