OTT 9 problem

Hi,
I met a strange problem when I tried to run OTT. Even without any command line input, it keeps report problems.
1)From the beginning, it reports "ORACLE_HOME: not defined". Then I defined "ORACLE_HOME = c:\oracle" in system environment setting.
2)After that, run OTT without other parameters, it reports error again, showing following message:
"Exception in thread "main" java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError: sqlj/framework/error/ErrorLog at oracle.ott.c.CMain.main(CMain.java:9)"
I've also tried this on 3 different machines with WIN2K & oracle 9i (different package installation). Seems all are in the same case. Thereafter, I removed 9i client from my machine and reinstall it again. In the installing process, it notifies me that ORACLE_HOME doesn't need to be set, and it will clear it, since none of Oracle's products will use that (funny??). After the reinstallation, things are the same.
BTW, OTT8 works fine. But I am using OCCI & C++, :-(
I don't know whether someone else has even met the same problem. Settings of my machine are:
Win2K
SP3
VS.NET
VS 6
JDK 1.4
Can someone give me a hand with this? Thanks in advance.

Yes,
I ran into this, and Oracle are aware of it, It might be fixed in 9.2 but not in 9.0.1.3 or earlier.
In my case, after I eventually got both versions of OTT going, they gave me the same results (I was using C not C++). I suggest you see if OTT8 does what you need.
The 9.0.1.3 release notes say it's bug 1950643
You need:
NLS_LANG, ORACLE_HOME and CLASSPATH all set in the environment, not just the registery.
(Bug 1892470) If you are trying to invoke Object Type Translator from the MS-DOS command prompt and do not receive any output, make sure that the CLASSPATH includes the following.
%ORACLE_HOME%\sqlj\lib\runtime.zip;%ORACLE_
HOME%\sqlj\lib\translator.zip;%ORACLE_
HOME%\jdbc\lib\classes111.zip;%ORACLE_HOME%\jdbc\lib\nls_
charset11.zip
I found I also needed java 1.3, but they don;t seem to think so.
Good luck,
David Penington

    ## Server-pool size regulation. Rather than making you guess how many

    ## handle the current load, plus a few spare servers to handle transient
    ## load spikes (e.g., multiple simultaneous requests from a single
    ## Netscape browser).
    ## It does this by periodically checking how many servers are waiting

    ## spares die off. The default values are probably OK for most sites.
    MinSpareServers 1
    MaxSpareServers 1
    ## Number of servers to start initially --- should be a reasonable ballpark

    ## MaxRequestsPerChild: the number of requests each child process is
    ## allowed to process before the child dies. The child will exit so
    ## as to avoid problems after prolonged use when Apache (and maybe the
    ## libraries it uses) leak memory or other resources. On most systems, this
    ## isn't really needed, but a few (such as Solaris) do have notable leaks
    ## in the libraries. For these platforms, set to something like 10000
    ## or so; a setting of 0 means unlimited.
    ## NOTE: This value does not include keepalive requests after the initial
    ## request per connection. For example, if a child process handles
    ## an initial request and 10 subsequent "keptalive" requests, it
    ## would only count as 1 request towards this limit.
    MaxRequestsPerChild 100000

    I am modifying the correct httpd.conf file on the server, it just doesn't seem to work. - If I put the rewrite rules in the <Directory /> the rewrite works but it adds /Library/WebServer/Documents to the URL.
    I also tried putting the rewrite rules in <IfModule mod_rewrite.c> but that did not work either.
    mod_rewrite is enabled and running on the server.
    I will post the rewrite rules again in the code brackets. Sorry for the long post. - If some one can try them out on their Leopard Server to see if they can get them to work, it would be much appreciated. Again, these work on my Leopard Client but I can't get them to work on Server.

  • Problem with sqlldr and commit

    Hi,
    i have a problem with sqlldr and commit.
    I have a simple table with one colum [ col_id number(6) not null ]. The column "col_id" is primary key in the table. I have one file with 100.000 records ( number from 0 to 99.999 ).
    I want load the file in the table with sqlldr ( sql*loader ) but i want commit only if all records are loaded. If one record is discarded i want discarded all record of file.
    The proble is that in coventional path the commit is on 64 row but if i want the same records of file isn't possible and in direct path sqlldr disable primary key :(
    There are a solutions?
    Thanks

  • Problem with OCI call  and  how to install and use 'DEBUG_EXTPROC' on Linux

    Hi,
    Can any one let me know how I can install and use this debug_extproc package. I have installed oracle XE server on Linux machine(32-bit).
    When I use : DEBUG_EXTPROC.STARTUP_EXTPROC_AGENT' ... i get an error saying that : it is not declared.
    I tried looking in all the directories but did not find the dbgextp.sql(which is required in order to install that package).And tried searching on google but could not get any relevant information.
    Also I am newbie to OCI call interface and also to C programming too: I have coded a external procedure or custom user aggregate in C. But since I was using C++ : 'set' STL. I have compiled my program using g++ instead of gcc and I have correspondingly modified the make file in public/demo directory.
    So, is it fine to do it that way: using OCI (instead of OCCI(C++)) but again compiling the pgm as a regular C++ using g++ instead of gcc.(But rest of the pgm including printf statements : everything is in C).
    Also I have created the library from my : custagg.so library:
    SQL> create or replace library custagg is '$ORACLE_HOME/lib/custagg.so'
    But my aggregate function implemented as external C function using OCI is either not recognised or else : if recognized then there is some error because of which i am getting the following errors : ORA-06522
    SQL> select MinDistance(TT) from egg1;
    select MinDistance(TT) from egg1
    ERROR at line 1:
    ORA-06520: PL/SQL: Error loading external library
    ORA-06522: /usr/lib/oracle/xe/app/oracle/product/10.2.0/server/lib/custagg.so:
    cannot dynamically load executable
    Please kindly answers my queries and trying to resolve this for almost 4 days now and could not find any clue on how to get this done.
    Thanks,

  • OTT use and example .How to use it??

    Hello
    Could anyone write me how to use OTT step by step?
    When I use ott userid=scott/tiger intype=demoin.typ outtype=demoout.typ code=cpp
    hfile=demo.h cppfile=demo.cpp mapfile=RegisterMappings.cpp I get an error:
    Error in OTT stub: invalid parameter
    I can not manage with this problem.
    Could anyone help??
    Where should also files ontype and outtype be (in filesystem) and what should be their amounts?
    I have seen OCCI userguide for OTT but i can not manage with it.
    I can not also find any description for using OTT with an example step by step
    Best regards

    Hello
    Well, when I set up Oracle_Home I can not then connect to my database.
    Could You describe step by step how You use OTT,please?
    I just need an example, a kind of tutorial
    Best regards.

  • ORA-32162: Read/Write SQL method not registered-for OTT

    I am trying this--
    env = Environment::createEnvironment (Environment::OBJECT);
    RegisterClasses(env);
    conn = env->createConnection (user, passwd, db);
    RegisterClasses is my mapping function; But still I am getting this error at--
    stmt->registerOutParam( 2,OCCIPOBJECT);
    I am trying to make a stored procedure call here...
    Can anyone tell me what is that I am missing?

    Hi,
    I am using OTT generated objects to pass them to my PL/SQL procedures as OUT parameters. When I call the registerOutParam() function, I get this error ORA-32162: Read/Write SQL method not registered.
    I am calling my mapping function after creating environment and before creating my stateless connection pool. But still I am getting this exception at runtime while calling registerOutParam().
    Environment* env;
    env = Environment::createEnvironment(Environment::OBJECT);
    MessageTOMapping(env); // Calling the mapping function here.
    // Creating the stateless connection pool.
    StatelessConnectionPool* scp;
    scp = env->createStatelessConnectionPool("naveen",
    "naveen",
    "//10.105.153.11:1521/pls",
    10,
    5,
    2,
    StatelessConnectionPool::HOMOGENEOUS);
    // Fetch a connection from the stateless connection pool
    conn = scp->getConnection();
    // After this, I create my Statement and call the registerOutParam() which
    // causes ORA-32162 exception.
    Please note that I do not get this error when I don't use any connection-pooling mechanism. That is, if I create an environment in OBJECT mode, call the mapping function with its pointer and create a normal Connection object (without any pooling etc), my application runs perfectly fine. E.g. if I replace the above piece of code with the code below, my application runs fine.
    Environment* env;
    env = Environment::createEnvironment(Environment::OBJECT);
    MessageTOMapping(env); // Calling the mapping function here.
    conn = env->createConnection("naveen", "naveen", "//10.105.153.11:1521/pls");
    // After this, I create my Statement and call the registerOutParam() which
    // does not give problem now and my application runs pefectly fine.
    Can anyone let me know what I am doing wrong while using the stateless connection pooling mechanism? I definitely need to use Stateless Connection Pooling and must not get connections directly from env->createConnection().
    Any help will be greatly appreciated.
    Thanks and Regards,
    Naveen

  • Memory leak problem while passing Object to stored procedure from C++ code

    Hi,
    I am facing memory leak problem while passing object to oracle stored procedure from C++ code.Here I am writing brief description of the code :
    1) created objects in oracle with the help of "create or replace type as objects"
    2) generated C++ classes corresponding to oracle objects with the help of OTT utility.
    3) Instantiating classes in C++ code and assigning values.
    4) calling oracle stored procedure and setting object in statement with the help of setObject function.
    5) deleted objects.
    this is all I am doing ,and getting memory leak , if you need the sample code then please write your e-mail id , so that I can attach files in reply.
    TIA
    Jagendra

    just to correct my previous reply , adding delete statement
    Hi,
    I am using oracle 10.2.0.1 and compiling the code with Sun Studio 11, following is the brief dicription of my code :
    1) create oracle object :
    create or replace type TEST_OBJECT as object
    ( field1 number(10),
    field2 number(10),
    field3 number(10) )
    2) create table :
    create table TEST_TABLE (
    f1 number(10),f2 number (10),f3 number (10))
    3) create procedure :
    CREATE OR REPLACE PROCEDURE testProc
    data IN test_object)
    IS
    BEGIN
    insert into TEST_TABLE( f1,f2,f3) values ( data.field1,data.field2,data.field3);
    commit;
    end;
    4) generate C++ classes along with map file for database object TEST_OBJECT by using Oracle OTT Utility
    5) C++ code :
    // include OTT generate files here and other required header files
    int main()
    int x = 0;
    int y = 0;
    int z =0;
    Environment *env = Environment::createEnvironment(Environment::DEFAULT);
    Connection* const pConn =
    env->createConnection"stmprf","stmprf","spwtrgt3nms");
    const string sqlStmt("BEGIN testProc(:1) END;");
    Statement * pStmt = pConn->createStatement(sqlStmt);
    while(1)
    TEST_OBJECT* pObj = new TEST_OBJECT();
    pObj->field1 = x++;
    pObj->field2 = y++;
    pObj->field3 = z++;
    pStmt->setObject(1,pObj);
    pStmt->executeUpdate();
    pConn->commit();
    delete pObj;
    }

  • Potentialy serious problem with Oracle 11g R1

    Today i have download to try Oracle 11g , my system supports database system
    requirerments and into installation progress my antivirus software find some troyan horses and my antivirus software is ordinary not powerfull .Do someone have the same problem?

    Yes, Trojan found in ott.exe. I believe this may be a false alarm because of its filename, which is the name of a known malware. Only some antivirus detected it.
    Since it's just one file, use whatever your antivirus has for isolating it, or just delete it.

    // Declare a FILE variable.
    FILE *file_name;
    // Open the File.
    file_name = fopen(path,"w");
    fprintf(file_name,"start0\n");
    // Close the file.
    fclose(file_name);
    what's the problem?

    You can create the Object/types in Oracle and use OTT utility to create persistency related code.
    How ever I recommend to use similar table rather than using Objects . Since objects are costly in RDBMS.

    Hi Recco,
    I hope I'm wrong , I think XP is not supported for AS.
    The second thing is U have not enough memory to run AS, that why U will always get problem with Java.
    The third thing is about your Env. I mis jre path
    ex. at your user profile & system profile just put for example
    ORACLE_HOMe just give your oracle software home
    by PATH U need to say for example c:\oracle_HOME/jre/1.4.2/bin
    Hear from U,

  • Occi problem about object cache!

    Hello!
    I have a table named "ggg" which include two column in the oracle database,and the datatype of one colume is "mdsys.sdo_geometry".I insert 1000000 rows record into the "ggg" table.Now I want to download all the data with occi.At the client,i use "sdo_geometry" class created by ott to access the "mdsys.sdo_geometry" objects in the table.Then,problem come:
    1.the meomery used by the client applacation grow and grow continuously;the client object cache has not release the object automaticaly when over 8m default cache as the guide of occi;
    2.I can not release the occupied memory of the client object,the "delete" methed of the "PObject" is usefulless;
    3.the "setdatabufer" methed of the "ResultSet" cann't apply to the object type(exsample:sdo_geometry).
    why?
    thanks a lot.

    You didn't mention how you are getting the objects to the client. Are they value instances or are you getting the Refs and dereferencing them?
    If you are dereferencing the Refs, make sure the Refs go out of scope when they are no longer used. Otherwise since you are holding them, they won't get garbage collected.

  • Pro*C/C++ Precompiler Error when using OTT and CODE=CPP

    I am trying to precompile a Pro*C application for the company I am working.
    Generating Include file and Intype file with OTT succeeded.
    But invoking the Pro*C precompiler results in error messages concerning
    the processing of the "size_t" structure being involved by including
    the file "oci.h" in the OTT-generated Include file. This file in turn

    By the way, i figured out so many different settings and
    alternative code placements now, I satisfy all guidelines of
    the Pro*C-Programmers Guide, but I don't get that stuff running!
    I'd appreciate any help!
    Regards,
    Wilfried

    When I first ran into this problem I scoured this forum and found the usual suspects (add the proper path to the pcscfg file by doing a "find /usr -name stddef.h -print"). Assuming that you did this and changed the reference from Suse to your distribution you can move to the next point.
    I did this and still ran into problems. It turns out that with my distribution and version (Mandrake 8.1), I needed to reference the egcs version of these includes which were not installed by default. I needed into install the egcs packages. After this I had two references to stddef.h in my usr/include path. One was quite obviously the egcs version. I needed to use that one. It cleared up the problem.
    [jflynn@CN83845-A /]$ find /usr/lib -name stddef.h -print
    /usr/lib/gcc-lib/i586-mandrake-linux-gnu/2.96/include/stddef.h
    /usr/lib/gcc-lib/i586-mandrake-linux-gnu/egcs-2.91.66/include/stddef.h
    so I modified the pcscfg file as:
    sys_include=(/usr/include,/usr/lib/gcc-lib/i586-mandrake-linux-gnu/egcs-2.91.66/include)

  • Problems with sorting in cross tab.

    Hi,
    Can anybody help me? I use Oracle Discoverer Desktop 10.1.2
    The problem is:
    a have a cross tab in which at the left axis I have the items sorted by alternative sort. Among them there are two items with similar names, like "detail 1" and "detail 1", but with different recid and ordernumber.
    if I put only the 'name' of an item at the left axis - I see only one item with the name "detail 1", against both of them.
    if I put two colums at the left axis 'ordernumber' and 'name' - I see both, but there are additional lines with the same 'content' like:
    1     ;     100
    detail 1;     100
    2     ;     200
    detail 1;     200
    how can I avoid this and is there any way to see both item without ordernumber?
    Kate.

    Hi, Ott
    I use ordernumber only for creating alternative sort, not for publishing in the crosstab.
    Ordernumber only "prevent" me to publish the info I need correctly, if I put ordernumber in the table the duplicated rows appears.
    You see, the problem is:
    I need only the names of the details in the left axis, BUT the identical names of the details (with the different ordernumber) are displayed as one row, not as different. it is not correctly.
    what should I do to solve the problem?
