Outage 6/23/15 at 6:15Pm through 6/26/15 11:20 hrs. approx. 65 hrs no TV/Internet

On 6/23/2015@ 6:15pm we lost comcast TV and Internet.I This service did not reactivate until 6/26/2015 @ 11:40AM.This period is approximately 65 hours which we paid for but did  not recieve.I calulate that comcast owes me $46.15 cents credit for denial of service. I have seen nothing in local papers or internet about this outage and what comcast intends to do. What has been the experience of others? 65 hours lost in Voorhees  

They don't usually issue credit unless customers request it. Contact one of their Billing reps at the phone number on your bill or 1-800-Comcast, or chat with them using one of the "Account and Bill" options at https://www.comcastsupport.com/chatentry/.

    Enter the name of your wireless network in the search box. You should have one or more "AirPort network password" items with that name. Make a note of the name and password, then delete all the items. Quit Keychain Access. Turn Wi-Fi off and then back on. Reconnect to the network.
    Step 5
    You may need to change other settings on the router. See the guidelines linked below:

    Step 6
    Make a note of all your settings for Wi-Fi in the Network preference pane, then delete the connection from the connection list and recreate it with the same settings. You do this by clicking the plus-sign icon below the connection list, and selecting Wi-Fi as the interface in the sheet that opens. Select Join other network from the Network Name menu, then select your network. Enter the password when prompted and save it in the keychain.
    Step 7
    Reset the System Management Controller (SMC).

    I have now tried twice folowing "Importing favorites and other data from Internet Explorer " which seemed to go smoothly, once with IE open and the other with it closed, and closed down my PC between each attempted installation. Any ideas?

    It usually works better if you export the Favorites in IE to an HTML file and import that file in the Firefox Bookmarks Manager.

    Using the latest firmware. My WRT54GS (connected through a LAN cable) seems to randomely disconnect me from the internet for no apparent reason. For some reason, it can't find the DNS even though my cable modem shows that a connection is there. The only way I can get it working again is unplugging the router, reconnecting the, going into the router status menu and hitting DHCP release, then DHCP renew.
    I'm not sure whats causing this though. Any help would be appreciated.

    My GSv6  will function perfectly until my cable ISP decides to change my WAN IP address.   When they do that the router will drop internet connection  and I have to go throught the reboot process for the modem and router.  Sometimes this works and all is well again until the next ip change, but other times there are still sporadic outages.

    When resetting your password, did you turn on two-step authentication? If you did, the Mail App isn't compatible with it - either, you need to create an application password and use that to log in using the iPhone Mail App, (instead of your Microsoft Account password) or disable two-step authentication to make it work.

  • Problems connecting to internet through airport extreme

    Hi everyone I am tyring to connect to the internet. I have Charter Digital at the highest speed. When I connect directly through the cable modem using DHCP i can connect to the internet just fine, but when I use the Airport using assing multiple IP addresses i cannot get the internet. When I run diagonostics, Everything works fine up to ISP after that (internet, Server) cannot connect. I've read through the boards and found nothing, so I could really use some help. I have the CAT 5 cable from the modem going to the WAN plug in the Airport.

    Thank you - some of the materials linked to that may have helped isolate my problem. Unfortunately, nothing's solved it yet. Pinging the Apple IP address gives me: No route to Host, with 100% packet loss on all attempts. I'm using an Airport Express card in a 1GHz G4 eMac running OSX 10.3.9, trying to connect to a Linksys BEFCMUH4 wireless broadband gateway modem/router. As stated above, all 4 ethernet ports are functioning correctly. All initial diagnostics on my end show there's a connection. Further diagnostics and attempts to get online show a lack of a connection but don't give any detail as to where it's encountering difficulty (or, if a traceroute shows something I'm not qualified to decipher it). It's even told me it's unable to configure succesfully. I've made sure the router itself is configured so there is no password necessary (it checks for an automatically logged number from my computer) and it shouldn't be locking me out from there (I hope). I was told running Airport Express with a non-Airport wireless router would be fine, but is it possible I was misinformed? The setup procedures available to help facilitate this all assume there's an Apple AirPort to search for and don't turn up my current router when they scan, leaving me with nothing to select from in that stage of the setup, and thus I cannot proceed. Am I doomed? Are there any gracious, exceedingly capable souls out there with the time and expertise to assist me? I'll be very grateful if someone can get me past this hurdle (I need to go wireless so I can get my air conditioner installed).

    Microsoft has it set up so that you '''MUST''' use Internet Explorer to receive any updates. You probably still have IE installed on your system. Open it up and you'll be able to update any of your system files and any other MS software that you have installed.

  • The jnlp update process is corrupting the cache through hotspot network

    This post is about a problem from the Java cache. We have a jnlp file responsible of updating our app (so we cannot put it “offline”). The problem is that some of our users run the application behind a hotspot network through wireless. In this case, they have no access to Internet but the java webstart mechanism try to download the JNLP in despite of this. In this case, JWS downloads the HTML login page and put it in its cache without any check. In consequence, the next access through shortcut is impossible.
    Is it a known issue and is there a workaround?

    can't nat GRE? cause only TCP/UDP nated(?)
    with packet-tracer i see flow already created but tunnel doesn't work

    A "clean" way would be to use a protocol that can be PATted. That could be GRE over IPSec. With that you have the additional benefit that your communication is protected through the internet.

  • Loosing Internet (only) connectivity on an iMac C2D through ethernet

    Hello there,
    I've just got a iMac C2D 20" and it's connected to the network in the office through an SMC Gigabit Switch... Every computer has internet and so the iMac, but randomly every day at least once, it loses the internet (just the internet) meanwhile the internet is up and others are on it)...
    I can ping other stations, and do local stuff on the network, but not with internet... and it only solves when I reboot...
    Does anybody have a hint on this?

    I am still having that problem. I called Applecare and the guy told me to Install an antivirus... I am serious... So he just recommended me that or to format the Hard Disk.

  • Powershell - Daily disk and folder usage; trouble with code to loop through the individual folders

    I'm very new to Powershell but through the help of this forum and the help on the internet I have scraped together a script that will loop through the disks of a set of servers listed in a text document, and give the capacity statistics in html
    format.
    I have two questions. I've tried modifying this to also loop though the individual folders on each disk and give the amount of space used to no avail. does any one have any suggestions?
    Secondly, how do I get this to append? all I want to do is set up a scheduled task that runs this report daily. I know I will need to add a date column, but I just want the data to append to the previous set of results.

    The only easy way to create a report like this that accumulates is to design it so the data is output to a CSV file or a database.  YOu can then generate the HTML from the persist6ed data.
    If you store as XML you can use XSLT (transform) to convert to an HTML report.
    I also recommend uing Excel as an HTML report generator.  It is much easier and more flexible.  PowerShell is not intended to do what you want without designing a whole custom reporting system.

  • Problem sending email through Comcast with Mac Mail

    I have seen this problem discussed here but no solution that I follow. Is there an
    easy fix to this. I am able to receive emails but...
    Here's the error message I get when I try to send from Mail:
    This message could not be delivered and will remain in your Outbox until it can be delivered.
    The sender address [email protected] was rejected by the server.
    I have tried changing the email address and the user name..but without success.
    The "Connection Doctor" in the Windows Menu went through a check and determined that my settings (POP Account and Internet connection status) were correct, as far as incoming and outgoing servers. ("connection to server succeeded") Didn't mention any other problems.

    I managed to get things working by deleting my mail account then recreating. Although this has been suggested before, I encountered a comcast glitch during the process that may explain some of this misbehavior. Comcast asked us to create new 8 character passwords. However, the incoming mail server still wants you to log in to your old password, while the smtp server wants the new password.
    Although this may be more work than necessary, here is how I got my mail working again.
    Create temporary folder in Filed Mail and move messages in your inbox to the temporary folder.
    Delete your comcast acount.
    Recreate comcast account, using automatic setup.
    enter old password at first prompt.
    enter new password at second prompt when it looks for the correct PW to enable outgoing mail.

    Any news from Verizon yet on the outage affecting the Andover/Lawrence area?  I have NO verizon functions at home.  No phone, no internet, no TV.   I read on the Wilmington paper website all phone service should have been restored already - not so in North Andover.   I still have no phone service, not even a dial tone.  Can someone from Verizon please comment on when these services will be restored?   And then how they are going to credit my bill for the now 2+ days of service not rendered?   Thanks

    If you did not receive a separate config file and you are using the one installed by default, you are using the "Serial Number Only" hosting option. This is the most basic option -- licenses are hosted at Adobe, but there are no options for customization. With the "Adobe Hosted" option, licenses are also hosted at Adobe, but more advanced configuration options available. Please check with the individual who has access to the Licensing Website to find out which hosting option was selected.
    No, unfortunately there is not a way to store the proxy credentials through any of the setup tools.
