Outbound buffering for idocs
Hi,
i've got data delivered as idocs. I'd like to read the data at a specific moment in our scheduling process. We already use the same functionality for file data. In this case we switch the specific CC on/off by our scheduler.
Is there a possibility to buffer the incoming idocs in the outbound adapter - delayed processing - and trigger the adapter by our scheduler? I know, that we could solve this challende with ccBPM, but I like to do it without BPM. We are using PI 7.0.
Thanks in advance
Michael
Hi,
both types of Idocs can be scheduled:
outbound from SAP ERP -> SAP PI - in the partner profile select - collect idocs
inbound SAP PI -> SAP ERP - in the partner profile select - trigger by background program
in both cases only when you run special report will be idoc be send (outbound), processed (inbound)

Receiving error msg in user's mailbox for both Outbound and Inbound IDocs
Hi,
Whenever specific IDoc (Inbound/Outbound) gets failed then the user/org unit assigned in its partner profile should get those error messages in their inbox.
To achieve this for Inbound Idoc I have performed following set of steps:-
1. Created an object and attached it under IDOCAPPL using 'SWO1' and I have set that object type as 'To imported'.
2. I have assigned that object type to event 'ERRORINPUTOCCURRED' and standard tasks '00008068' (Inbound processing error), '00008074'
(Inbound Syntax error), '20000051' (IDoc Application Inbound error), '300000207' (Error during Inbound processing of SYSTAT01) using transaction 'SWETYPV'.
3. I have created an organisation unit with two positions and different jobs where each job has been assigned to specific tasks. User has also been assigned to specific jobs.
4. At the end of this I have assigned this org. unit to IDoc's partner profile.
But this process does not seem to be working we are not receiving any mail in agent's inbox. If someone has done similar kind of thing in past, please let me know the correct step for both Outbound and Inboud IDoc.
Thanks in advance.
SupriyaHi,
Try this for inbound IDOC
Go to transaction WE42
Give the process code that you gave in the partner profile (WE20)
Select that row and press the details button (F2).
Next to the "Identification" field there will be push button which has the tool tip "ALE table"
Press that button
In the resulting screen..
In the IDOC section..
Give the following..
object type - "new business object that you created"
Start event - INPUTERROROCCURRED
End event - INPUTFINISHED
Hope this works..
Thanks,

What is outbound function module for IDoc type INFRECMASS01
Hi,
What is outbound function module for IDoc type INFRECMASS01? This is for purchasing info record.
Thanks
KamalHi Kamal,
Have you looked standard program <b>RBDSEINF</b> or transaction code <b>ME18</b>?
This program will call function module <b>MASTERIDOC_CREATE_REQ_INFREC</b> to generate purchasing info record IDoc.
Hope this will help.

How to find the outbound program for standard IDoc
Hi Folks,
Can anyone tell me how to find the outbound program/tcode for a standard IDoc? For e.g. IDoc - MATMAS05 can be generated & distributed using tcode BD10. Similarly how do I find the outbound program/tcode for any standard IDoc? Is there any procedure to find the same.
I have tried to search based on the package name, but unfortunately I didn't find the information for IDoc: COND_A04.
Thanks in advance.
SomuYou can do following steps if the idoc is generated based on change pointer concept (for masters)
- Identify the message type associated with idoc type (table EDIMSG).
- Function module for generating the IDOC will be available in table TBDME (pass message type as input).
Refer to the standard Outbound IDOC generation program RBDMIDOC for more details.
If the idoc is generated based on the process code concept (transaction data), get the process code information from table TMSG1 (pass message type as input), get the function module associated process code from table TEDE1 (pass process code as input).
Regards, Vinod
P.S: There is no standard way to find out the associated program / Tcode for generating idoc. The above process will be helpful to find out the underlying function modules to generate the idoc. For generating idocs based on change pointers the generic program RBDMIDOC can be used.

Configuring Packet size for IDOCS on outbound Side
Folks,
Can we configure the packet size for idocs on the onutbound side of the Adapter ?
ManishHi Manish,
It is posible if all 1000 idocs are of same Idoc type.
Jus go and change the occurene of Idoc in the XSD as 1..Unbounded. SO that your the message can hold multiple Idocs.
But let me clarify here, if you send 1000 idocs from R3 , it will come to XI as one-by-one. There is no mechanism to get 1000 idocs at a time. So you need to collec all the idocs and then send it.
Just have quick look into this

Setup for IDoc-XI-File scenario
Hi All,
Please provide info where can I find, step by step documentation for the basic setup on R/3 and XI areas, before start developing IDoc-XI-File or File-XI-IDoc scenarios.
Thank you,
SreeHi,
While doing an IDOC -> XI -> File scenario, The Points to noted are:
1. You dont need a DT, MT or a message interface for the IDOC as it itself acts as the Message Interface.
2. You import the IDOC and use the same in your mapping.
3. In this configuration note that you dont have a sender agreement as you dont have a sender IDOC adapter.
If it is that you wanted to send an IDOC from XI (File to IDOC) , then in this case:
points 1 and 2 will remain, but the 3 will not. You will need a sender agreement for the file and a receiver agreement for the IDOC.
IDOC -> File scenario ref:

File -> IDOC ->

(It concentrates on XSLT mapping but also gives an idea about the configuration part. Do go thru that, it might help you.)
To be able to trigger your IDOC from the SAP ISU system, you will have to set the partner profile in we20. Select your Business System (mostly under Logical system) and then create Outbound entries for whichever IDOC you want to trigger.
You define your basic type also in your partner profile settings, Please go thru the following links to get a better idea about partner profile:

EDI Vendor outbound payment advice, idoc do not contain RE in the header
Hi,
I am facing a critical issue on EDI vendor outbound payment advice idoc. Actually the IDOCs which i created do not contain the RE in the header record. This mandatory qualifier is located just before the SAP ID. The IDOCs which i created got error out and not translate.
Example - LIRE0001000922
Can anybody tell me that how can we get this RE mentioned in the above idoc no. I want this RE to be come when the idoc is created.
Point will be awarded.Hi Rajesh,
If everything is maintianed, i think the problem is with the file that your are uploading. Please check the file.
And also check whether the data record is maintained. For Field Name "PARTNER_Q" youa have to assign the :QualPart" RE (biil-to-party) in the data record.
Check these things and i hope it solves your problem.
And you can contact me at [email protected]

Function module creation for IDOC processing...
hi Experts,
i want to create a function module for idoc processing..
message type: zashpmnt
idoc type : shpmnt05
plz tell me which standard FM is used... and tell me what changes i want to do in it....
Tnx in Advance..Hello,
If you are trying to process an Outbound IDoc for the SHIPMNT05 IDoc Type with an Extension, you can use the IDOC_OUTPUT_SHPMNT Function Module which is assigned to SHPM Process Code.
In Addition, since you have an IDoc Extension, you are required to populate the Custom Segment / Fields. For this, there is a Customer Function / Exit called EXIT_SAPLV56K_002 which you can use it for adding your Custom Segments to the IDoc ZSHPMNT05.
If you are writing code in this exit, make sure to create a Project in CMOD.
Also, ensure that you've made the assignment in WE82 with the Message Type , IDoc Type & the Extension.
For Inbound, if you would like to Create a Custom Function Module, you can follow the Naming Convention Z_IDOC_INPUT_SHPMNT for which you are required follow the below Steps.
1. Register the FM as Inbound FM in BD51 T-Code.
2. Assign the FM to IDoc Type & Extension in WE57.
3. You'll need to Create a Custom Process Code in WE42 in which you are required to make add your FM.
4. Maintain Partner Profiles in WE20.
5. Have the Process Code Migrated to the Testing Environment as creation of Custom Process Code is a Customizing Activity and it requires a Customizing Request to be created / Migrated.
6. Define the Parameters as defined in the Standard Inbound Function Modules such as IDOC_INPUT_ORDERS , IDOC_INPUT_DELVRY etc.

What is the internal processing for idocs
Dear friends this is subbu working as a abap consultant.
can any body explain the how idocs are transfered (inbound process and outbound process)1.Here out bound means sender.Inbound mens --receiver.
Data Creation in Idoc
IDocs are text encoded documents with a rigid structure that are used to exchange data between R/3 and a foreign system. Instead of calling a program in the destination system directly, the data is first packed into an IDoc and then sent to the receiving system, where it is analyzed and properly processed. Therefore an IDoc data exchange is always an
asynchronous process. The significant difference between simple RFC-calls and IDoc data exchange is the fact, that every action performed on IDocs are protocolled by R/3 and IDocs can be reprocessed if an error occurred in one of the message steps.
While IDocs have to be understood as a data exchange protocol, EDI and ALE are typical use cases for IDocs. R/3 uses IDocs for both EDI and ALE to deliver data to the receiving system. ALE is basically the scheduling mechanism that defines when and between which partners and what kind of data will be exchanged on a regular or event triggered basis. Such a set-up is called an ALE-scenario.
IDoc is a intermediate document to exchange data between two SAP Systems.
*IDocs are structured ASCII files (or a virtual equivalent).
*Electronic Interchange Document
*They are the file format used by SAP R/3 to exchange data with foreign systems.
*Data Is transmitted in ASCII format, i.e. human readable form
*IDocs exchange messages
*IDocs are used like classical interface files
IDOC types are templates for specific message types depending on what is the business document, you want to exchange.

An IDoc is simply a data container that is used to exchange information between any two processes that can understand the syntax and semantics of the data...
1.IDOCs are stored in the database. In the SAP system, IDOCs are stored in database tables.
2.IDOCs are independent of the sending and receiving systems.
3.IDOCs are independent of the direction of data exchange.
The two available process for IDOCs are
Outbound Process
Inbound Process
AND There are basically two types of IDOCs.
Basic IDOCs
Basic IDOC type defines the structure and format of the business document that is to be exchanged between two systems.
Extended IDOCs
Extending the functionality by adding more segments to existing Basic IDOCs.
To Create Idoc we need to follow these steps:
Create Segment ( WE31)
Create Idoc Type ( WE30)
Create Message Type ( WE81)
Assign Idoc Type to Message Type ( WE82)

RSEOUT00 Process all selected IDocs (EDI)
RBDAPP01 - Inbound Processing of IDocs Ready for Transfer
RSARFCEX - Execute Calls Not Yet Executed
RBDMOIND - Status Conversion with Successful tRFC Execution
RBDMANIN - Start error handling for non-posted IDocs
RBDSTATE - Send Audit Confirmations
FOr testing you can use WE19.
There are two filtering in IDoc.
Segment Filtering:
Segment filtering can be achieved using T/Code BD56. Here you can suppress a whole segment irrespective of data inside it . You have to give Message Type / Sender Prrtner / Receiver Partner.
Data Filtering:
Data filtering can be done in dustribution model (BD64) where you can restrict whole IDOCS or partials IDOCS to be send based on data in fields inside IDOC depending on whether the segment in which you filter is at the highest level or at a lower level. For example in MATMAS if you put a filter of E1MARCM for a particular plant , only data for this plant will go and other plants will be ignored.

WE30 - you can create a IDOC type.
An IDOC with data, will have to be triggered by the application that is trying to send out the data.
Try this..Hope this will help.
Steps to configuration(Basis) >>
1. Create Logical System (LS) for each applicable ALE-enabled client
2. Link client to Logical System on the respective servers
3. Create background user, to be used by ALE(with authorizaton for ALE postings)
4. Create RFC Destinations(SM59)
5. Ports in Idoc processing(WE21)
6. Generate partner profiles for sending system
The functional configuration(Tcode: SALE)
Create a Customer Distribution Model (CDM);
Add appropriate message types and filters to the CDM;
Generate outbound partner profiles;
Distribute the CDM to the receiving systems; and
Generate inbound partner profiles on each of the clients.
Steps to customize a new IDoc >>>
1. Define IDoc Segment (WE31)
2. Convert Segments into an IDoc type (WE30)
3. Create a Message Type (WE81)
4. Create valid Combination of Message & IDoc type(WE82)
5. Define Processing Code(WE41 for OUT / WE42 for IN)
6. Define Partner Profile(WE20)
Important Transaction Codes:
SALE - IMG ALE Configuration root
WE20 - Manually maintain partner profiles
BD64 - Maintain customer distribution model
BD71 - Distribute customer distribution model
SM59 - Create RFC Destinations
BDM5 - Consistency check (Transaction scenarios)
BD82 - Generate Partner Profiles
BD61 - Activate Change Pointers - Globally
BD50 - Activate Change Pointer for Msg Type
BD52 - Activate change pointer per change.doc object
BD59 - Allocation object type -> IDOC type
BD56 - Maintain IDOC Segment Filters
BD53 - Reduction of Message Types
BD21 - Select Change Pointer
BD87 - Status Monitor for ALE Messages
BDM5 - Consistency check (Transaction scenarios)
BD62 - Define rules
BD79 - Maintain rules
BD55 - Defining settings for IDoc conversion
WEDI - ALE IDoc Administration
WE21 - Ports in Idoc processing
WE60 - IDoc documentation
SARA - IDoc archiving (Object type IDOC)
WE47 - IDoc status maintenance
WE07 - IDoc statistics
BALE - ALE Distribution Administration
WE05 - IDoc overview
BD87 - Inbound IDoc reprocessing
BD88 - Outbound IDoc reprocessing
BDM2 - IDoc Trace
BDM7 - IDoc Audit Analysis
BD21 - Create IDocs from change pointers
SM58 - Schedule RFC Failures
Basic config for Distributed data:
BD64: Maintain a Distributed Model
BD82: Generate Partner Profile
BD64: Distribute the distribution Model
Programs
RBDMIDOC Creating IDoc Type from Change Pointers
RSEOUT00 Process all selected IDocs (EDI)
RBDAPP01 - Inbound Processing of IDocs Ready for Transfer
RSARFCEX - Execute Calls Not Yet Executed
RBDMOIND - Status Conversion with Successful tRFC Execution
RBDMANIN - Start error handling for non-posted IDocs
RBDSTATE - Send Audit Confirmations
FOr testing you can use WE19.
You can directly create an iDoc using some transaction like...
Use TCODE bd10 - to Send Data
and TCODE bd11 - to Get Data
and you can check the IDoc List using TCODE we02.
As you want step by step procedure.
1. Define Logical System and Assign Logical System
TCODE sale
2. Define RFC
TCODE sm59
3. Define Port
TCODE we21
4. Define Partner Profile
TCODE we20
5. Define Distribution Model
TCODE bd64
6. Send Data

Process code for Idoc BANK_CREATE01 and BANK_CHANGE01
hi,
I want to create partner profile for Idoc BANK_CREATE01 and BANK_CHANGE01 standard Idocs.
But in transaction we64 , i am not finding the inbound process code for it.
So di i have to create a process code for it??
If yes , how do i create it and also the function module to be created.
kindly help.
Regards,
Loveenahi ,
To create a partner profile <b>Tcode WE20.</b>
for your inbound or outbound idocs , just add these idocs in outbound or inbound parameters . For Idoc to File or File to Idoc , it is sufficient.
before creating partner profile you have <b>to create port Tcode WE21</b>
hope this will help
