Outgoing Emails fails after Port 25 blocked by email administrator

Hi, our email team administrator has blocked the port 25 and restricted user to use SSL port 465 instead. The share point SMTP email setup page only shows TLS encryption check box (no ssl encryption check box available)
Is this a limitation on share point 2010 that only TLS encryption available? Please kindly advice.
Thank you.

Hi Layman,
According to your description, my understanding is that you want to configure the SMTP to use port 465 for outgoing email in SharePoint.
Per my knowledge, Exchange server will secure communication over any port, but will not use SSL, so there is only TLS encryption in SMTP.
To use port 465, we can add the port 465 under Network tab to the Receiver Connector for SharePoint Outgoing email. And then TCP port number on Outbound Connections in
DSMTP Virtual Server properties.

  • Will I still recieve emails from my old email account after creating an iCloud email account on my devices?

After creating an iCloud email will I still recieve emails from my old email account account on my devices?

If the old email account is a non-iCloud email account, then yes.  You will continue to receive email from your old account as long as it is still set up in Settings>Mail,Contacts,Calendars.
However, if the old email account is an iCloud email account, you will have to add it back on your devices in Settings>Mail,Contacts,Calendars>Add Account>iCloud, then sign in with your old iCloud account IC, in order to continue to receive it on your devices.  If you do this, the old email will be fetch only, not push.

  • Email fails after 3 sends

We are having a strange problem.Error message 016-781Sending to the same user from the xerox machine it will successfully send emails 3 times but on the 4th one it fails with the 016-781 error. Then it will email another 3 times then fail again and so on. Our mail server is exchange. Anyone come accross this issue. Than ks in advance.

Have an exception added in the Exchange server for the account and IP of the printer to whitelist it from being checked by the spam filter. Look at it from the perspective of the Server. Someone is sending an email to the same person in quick succession where the subject line, message body, attachment type, file name, footer etc etc are identical, the only thing different from the servers perspective is the size of the attachment. This is not an issue for a user who sends an email occasionally , but it very much is when sending 3 or more in quick succession (under 5 minutes typically)

  • Email Stamp After a Submit By Email

    Hello,
I am building fillable form that will be submitted to me by email. i already have the Time Stamp figured out apon clicking the submit button, however i was hoping there is an easy way to pull the Senders email address and stamp it on the form before it gets sent to me. Thank You,
    -Aaron-

I thought about that but what i am really going for is who is submittting this form, not who is filling it out. And if there is a way to just pull the users email from outlook or something that would be sweet becuase then i could know when exactly the form was submitted and by whom exactly. If there isnt a way thats alright, i was just hoping there would be an easy way to do this.

  • Invalid email error after successful verification of email. please help

I have read many other responses on the web. All info is correct: phone number, address, and email is a valid and active gmail account. I can login online and verify all is active and even checked the address and p. number to be sure. I am trying to sign in to itunes andwhen I login in I get a prompt "This Apple id has not yet been used with the itunes store.(i assume this means the email and login is recognized?)  Please review your account information". I click review and re-enter my login and password and then get the error that email is invalid. Please assist. Not sure what the bug is.

Well, I have just spent an HOUR (no, I'm not kidding or exaggerating) talking to Apple support, and the saddest thing is that they were not able to resolve my issue. Their suggestion is for me to create another email account, then a new Apple ID for that email address and if that does not help, they want me to come to an Apple Store and show them what's going on. I find that a bit ridiculous...

BDAqua is offering really good advice.
    As always.
Another thing you might try is
    write the email
    print it out
    delete the email
put the copy in a box.
Everytime you are temped to respond
    do the same thing.
    You'll let some steam out -- feelings . . .
And the copy will give you validation.
Just never, never actually send it.
It's worked for me for a long time.
Most times when I'm tempted to really let someone have it,
or I know I'm out of control,
I write the letter, print it out, and press the delete key.
It also helps to put your favorite music on afterward.
    Hang in there, Amy.

  • Send Email Fail... SOLVED! WVC80N

I bought this camera yesterday to monitor the entrance to my house, and in case anyone decided they wanted to break in and take anything, I would have them caught on video.  All I wanted this camera for was so that I could monitor my house from the road, but mostly to have it automatically record a short clip and send it to my email account, where it would sit until I actually needed to "pull the tapes".
However, like so many others, I could not get the "Test Email" test to work.  I would constantly get "Send Email Fail - [email protected]".  I had verified time and time again that the settings in the  camera were correct.  But it just wouldn't work.  From what I have read, email "servers" like hotmail, msn, yahoo, and gmail WILL NOT WORK to SEND the email, you must use your ISP's email settings.  That being said, even with my ISP's settings correct, the test would still fail.  Here is how I fixed it:
If you are having this problem, you have probably come across some posts where the words "port forwarding" were found.  That is, indeed, the problem.  I don't know that much about networking anymore, but I will tell you how I got my camera to finally send emails.
I have a linksys WRT54G wireless router.  What I had to do was set up the router to forward port 1024 to the IP address of the camera.  If you have the same router I do, simply go to 192.168.1.1 in IE.  The default login "I think" is "admin" and just leave the password blank.  If you don't have the same router, you'll have to look into the documentation to find out how to log in to your router.  (Note: Sometimes when I go to 192.168.1.1, I get an error that it can't be displayed.  Rebooting everything and saying a few hail mary's usually fixes this.  Go figure).
Once you are in to your router, and in the case of the WRT54G, click on "Applications and Gaming".  Make sure you are on the Port Range Forward tab.  The first field is just something to remind you what the trigger is for.  I put "Camera".  Next, at start and end, I put "1024" for both.  For the protocol, I left it at "BOTH".  Then I just put the STATIC IP address of the camera into the field, which in my case was 192.168.1.218, and clicked ENABLE, and APPLY at the bottom.  Suddenly I got about 15 emails on every account which I had setup, including my ISP's server and GMAIL.
To find your camera's IP address, hopefully you have setup the TZO account (it's free to try) and go to your web address www.YourName.MyLinksysCam.com and click on Advanced Settings.  On the basic settings, it will have some fields that should say like IPv4 Only, Fixed IP Address, and the IPv4 Address, which in my case was 192.168.1.218.  This is the number that you need to forward port 1024 to in your router settings.  Once you know that number, I would print out a little sticky label and put it on the base of the camera so that if you ever want to log into it again directly from your network (not remotely), you can just type that address into IE and change the settings.  Also make sure in your camera's settings that on the Options tab, UPnP is Enabled, Alternate Web Access Port is Enabled, and is 1024.  I guess you could change this number if you wanted, just make sure you forward that new number in your router settings as described above.
Don't forget to set up the motion sensitivity.  For now, I have mine full screen and max sensitivity.
I hope this helps, it was very frustrating for me.

Well I've had no luck either.  Spent over 4hrs chatting with the support group and ended being four time more frustrated than when I started.  In all seriousness I would say I spent atleast 40% of that time trying to educate the support reps as to what the problem was.
In the end I checked my wrt610n router and under single port forwarding the settings redcrawl mentioned where already there.  So it may be that Cisco has attempted to make the changes needed but regardless of these changes I still can't get it to work with Hotmail, Yahoo or Gmail.  Just for everyones info I've listed their respective smtp servers and ports below:
         Outgoing SMTP Mail Servers:
              Hotmail  -   smtp.live.com                       Port  -  25
              Yahoo  -     smtp.mail.yahoo.com          Port  -  25
              Gmail  -      smtp.gmail.com                   Port  -  465
In any event, I would have to say that I've been a Linksys/Cisco loyalist up to this point but after this experience it looks like I'm going to go with another brand.
Good luck everyone and to the forum administrators I would change the title of this topic from "SOLVED" to "Pending".

  • I cannot send an email from my iPad 2? No problem receiving, why does this happen? Have tried the suggestions for setting up email and after doing the sync mail through iTunes receiving worked great but still cannot send? Any help would be great

I cannot send an email from my iPad 2? No problem receiving, why does this happen? Have tried the suggestions for setting up email and after doing the sync mail through iTunes receiving worked great but still cannot send? Any help would be great!

The fact that you can receive means you have a valid e mail address, and have established the connection to the incoming server, so all of that works.  Since the send does not work, that means your outgoing server is rejecting whatever settings you used formthe outgoing set up.  Try them again.
Google your particular isp, and ipad and many times you will find the exact settings needed for your isp.  Or tell us here, and soneone else may be on the same isp.  Some mail services need you to change a port, or have a unique name for the outgoing server.
    Kep trying.

  • Apple Mail blocks Charter email, which blocks Apple mail

I am running 10.6.8 on a 2008 Mac Pro. I was using MS Entourage as my email program. I want to upgrade to Lion/Mtn Lion, but my old MS Entourage or other Office programs won't work on that, so I decided to start using Apple Mail (version 4.6)
I get my email thru my ISP, Charter.net,
When Apple Mail is OPEN it will not connect to Charter email, and Charter email will not display or recieve or send any email, nor will Entourage (POP) or a MS Outlook (trial version). Apple Mail says it "cannot connect to the IMAP server," and it "cannot connect to the SMTP server."
I have set up Apple Mail correctly according to Charter: IMAP port 143, SMTP port 25, no SSL etc (default email reader Entourage, but I've tried Mail, Outlook, etc. …no change in my problem)
When I quit Apple Mail, the others will immediately access/send emails.
The problem seems to be that for some reason Apple Mail blocks Charter mail from connecting, but since that is where I get my email, Apple Mail is blocking itself, Entourage and Outlook from connecting to the IMAP/SMTP servers, therefore no mail service.
The strange thing is that now and again Apple Mail WILL connect—briefly—and mail will come in/go out, but then drops offline again.
I've been on the phone with Charter for a couple hours and had a service tech here this morning for an hour, but everyone is stumped. Of course none of them are very Mac-savvy, so that doesn't help.
    Can any of you help?

I've been having exactly the same trouble with my Charter E-mail Accounts.
I first use two of my existing Charter E-mail Accounts (which I have never used in years!). Set them up in Apple Mail (Snow Leopard 10.6.8, on my MacPro 4.1) as POP Accounts!
They did work sometimes, but now I can only receive mail.
Set up a new Charter E-mail Account, and used that to Set Up in Apple Mail as IMAP Account. It does NOT work at all, period, either way.
I've been on the phone with Charter Tech Support many, many, many times, for many hours, but nobody has a clue. They tell me to check their webpage for Set Up, which I don't need because I've been through the Set-up Procedure so many times already.
Then they tell me to call Apple Tech Support, which I cannot afford.
So, now I'm back to using my old DreamHost E-mail Accounts, which work just fine, after their Tech Support helped me to resolve some issues. They had me open Terminal, then Keychain. I tried all three Keychain Methods, which resolved the issues with DreamHost E-mail.
I'm going to try setting up my G-mail Account in Apple Mail and see what happens .....

  • Acrobat's "Attach to Email" fails due to tooltip behavior???

OK, let me start out by acknowledging that I’m claiming
my car won’t start because the bathroom light is on …
    but here goes:
I’ve got a menu of PDF’s with icons next to each
to open, print, email, or select (for multi-print/email) All of the
icons have the tooltip behavior, the only modification being a
slight increase in the offset of the tooltip. The tooltips all work
fine, the icons all work fine, everything opens, prints, or
attaches to emails (via a MAPI behavior I’ve written) as
expected … except … if you open a PDF document and
select “Attach to Email” from Acro Reader’s file
menu, a MAPI email form pops up but hitting send does nothing. Once
a particular instance of the reader has been corrupted it can no
longer email any PDF, even those opened directly by the OS,
however, my own MAPI behavior remains functional and I can still
email PDFs directly from the menu … so the corruption appears
to be in the reader, not the email client.
Before you think I’m crazy, I tried a simple test: 2
buttons, one with just the file open behavior, the other with file
open + tooltip. The file open only behavior works fine all day
long, the file open + tooltip behavior will eventually cause
problems with the reader’s email capability … maybe not
the first time, but after 5 or 6 tries the problem will eventually
surface. Once the problem has surfaced, closing the offending
document but leaving the instance of the reader open will cause all
subsequent attempts to email to fail when opening the PDF from
either button. Closing the reader will restore email if the PDF is
opened from the non-tooltip button and we’re back to where we
    started.
We have demonstrated the problem with both Acro Reader 8, and
Acro 7 Pro on XP Pro. Anyone know what might be happening?

I added these additional strings via Reg Editor. Similar to a previous posting and it now works fine.

    Hey CarolinQc,
Thanks for the question. The symptoms you are experiencing can result from an Apple ID address that has been changed prior to signing out of all of the services. Before you change the email address associated with your Apple ID, you’ll want to sign out of all services to avoid this. As a fix, you can temporarily change your Apple ID back to the old address:
iOS 7: If you're asked for the password to your previous Apple ID when signing out of iCloud
    http://support.apple.com/kb/TS5223
    Change your Apple ID temporarily
If signing out and back in to iMessage or FaceTime didn't help, try these steps:
    1. Change your Apple ID to the Apple ID you used previously. You shouldn't need to verify the email address.
    2. Go to Settings > iCloud. Complete these steps only if the Find My [Device] setting is turned on:
              - Scroll down and tap Delete Account, then tap Delete to confirm.
              - Tap “Keep on My [Device]” or “Delete from My [Device].” In either case, your data remains in iCloud and will be updated on your device when you sign in to iCloud again.
              - Enter the password for your previous Apple ID.
    3. Change your Apple ID to the new email address that you want to use. You'll need to verify the email address.
    4. Return to Settings > iCloud and sign in with your new Apple ID.

  • Firefox is blocking .wmv email attachments from opening

Firefox is blocking .wmv email attachments from opening on all three yahoo.com (classic, plus, and beta) email formats. When I click to open and view the email attachments, I no longer get the option to "Open or Save" this file, and it is automatically saved in my Win7 Download files.
This happened once before and the fix was to "X-cancel" an orange bar message saying that FF was blocking this file from opening. This message was located just under the top of the FF browser.
I do not see this message now.

Cor-el contributed the"Yahoo File" link to solve this problem. After reading and studying the info listed I went to FF "Applications" and changed the windowmedia audio/video from "default" to "always ask." And that was the fix. Now when I open an email attachment with a .wmv file, I click on "download" and then get the Option box of "Open or Save." Just what I wanted.
    Thanks Cor-el
