Outgoing mail not sent

In my email account, i am unable to send out emails. When I click the "send" icon, a box appears. It says to Enter Password for Acccount
"mail.gmx.com:[email protected]", enter Password for user, with a box to type password in. I type in Password, click "OK". Then this same box appears with a blank line for my Password to be typed in again. This keeps happening again and again, and my outgoing email apparently is not sent out. I hope you can help with this vexxing problem.

Good morning Nadia :-)
You believe? Go on Preferences (Mail) > Accounts > Account information and check, whether there is the right server for the Outgoing Mail server (as I said, there must be "mail.gmx.de")
If not, you should go to "edit SMTP Server list ..." and
Account information:
Description: smtp gmx server (or you fill in nothing)
Server Name: mail.gmx.de
Advanced:
radio button checked: Use defaults ...
Authenitfication: password
User Name: the same as in Incoming Mail Server
Password: the same as in Incoming Mail Server
Hope this helps! Have a nice weekend

• Outgoing mail not sent BUT appears in "SENT" folder

G'day all!
Just tried to send some PDF's about 225k in size and also a copy past version of the same doc via Mail app. ALL attempts appear to get sent and they DO appear in the SENT folder but they do not get to the recipient. All other attempts to send stuff goes but not but NOT this particular item. I have sent them to myself at various addresses incl. iCloud and my normal ISP's in box for my account. All were sent via iCloud outgoing but none arrived – only the "test" emails (to make sure it wasn't me) arrived All pdf's were made on an iPad. Any clues? very strange indeed! cheers, Sam

No, no, no!!! Absolutely NO apologies nessecary!!! YOU are trying to help ME! <g> Let me start from the top.....I read an online article in a mag called the New Yorker. I wanted to send the article to several friends and NOT simply the link. I copy/pasted the article from "Reader" in Safari into Pages as a new doc. I "open in another app" from Pages as a PDF and tried to send it direct from Pages as described before AND "open in iBook" and tried to send it. It made the motions of going but the people did not get it. I tried to paste the body text into a normal email and agin no such luck. Every time it registers in the "sent" folder but does NOT arrive. I repeated all the above as me the recipiant and no luck. I tried other pdf's from both app (Pages & iBooks) to me – no probs. Everytime anything is sent it appears in the "sent" folder but only THIS document/bunch of words, no go???? Curious huh?
cheers,
sam
P.S. I have done a work around and sent the link but I though that someone might have an idea here......

• Outgoing mail in sent folder never sends, consumes bandwidth, heats up device.

I just filed a defect, the text of which I have copied below in part. I'm wondering though if anyone else has seen this, and if they have has it occured to them repeatedly? I'm wondering if I need to really keep an eye on my mail problem to make sure I don't keep incuring charges from AT&T and risk setting my phone on fire
Summary: Outgoing mail in sent folder never sends, consumes bandwidth, heats up device.
Symptom: Device heats up to an almost unbearable temperature. Meanwhile in 18 hours the phone chews up over 2 gigbytes of cellular data, even though the phone sat next to a wireless G router, which it stayed connected to, and the connection remained good. I won't claim they are related, only that they occured at the same time.
Point of interest, putting the phone in "Airplane Mode" cooled the device down immediately. Restarting the device helped, unless the email app was opened up after restarting. Same thing with killing the app, cooled down until the email client was opened again. I figured this out over the course of 18 hours.
Steps to Reproduce:
I have not tried to reproduce this issue yet, but here are the actions I took prior to getting into the bad state.
Pre-conditions of the phone: I was connected to a good wifi signal. I had good 3G service. Phone was not experiencing any problems.
1. Took a picture with the camera. Sent picture via email (using iphone client through gmail server).
2. Did step 1 again with a different picture.
3. Took a 43 second movie, which was about 50mb. Attempted to send movie via email same as the pictures.
Expected Results:
The movie would have sent after a reasonable amount of time.
Actual Results:
According to AT&T, 196,265 KB of data was sent in the hour following my attempt to email the movie.
After restarting the phone, I must have killed its attempts at sending, at least via 3G. However I checked my email via my phone again right before bed. I woke up the next morning to find my phone had become extremely hot yet again. AT&T claims I used 1,890,652 KB (not a typo) that night while I slept.
I restarted my phone the next morning and that "fixed" it again. Until around noon I finally figured out that it was my opening the email client that was triggering the heat. At this point I noticed that the email with the attached movie was still "Sending". I could not kill or delete the email, killing the app and restarting the phone did not stop or fix it. I had to put the phone in Airplane mode, which caused the email client to give me a proper error, and then I was able to delete the email. I have had no over heating issues since.
Regression:
Getting charged an extra $20 in data usage by AT&T.
Notes:
As stated, I have not tried to reproduce this yet. I am slightly fearful that I will accidentally incur another $20 worth of data usage unknowingly. My phone has never been jailbroken or in other ways modified, and has experienced no other issues or trauma recently. I've owned the phone for 2 years and it was bought brand new.

In my opinion there is only one way to get this issue fixed -> contact Apple:

• Bellsouth outgoing mail not working

I am having trouble making my ITouch accept the Outgoing Setting on the Server Port. I followed the link that someone had posted earlier and tried all of those suggestions. The person said that it took him a while to get his touch to accept no port setting. Mine keeps putting in the number, 587.
Can anyone possibly help me with this? I can receive mail, I just cannot send any.
Thanks!

Who is the email account provider?
Sounds like the email account provider doesn't have an authenticated SMTP server or if they do, you aren't using it.
All email received and sent with a Blackberry is routed through RIM's dedicated email delivery service so not the same. Completely different from a Blackberry, the iPhone's Mail app communicates direct with the incoming and outgoing mail servers for an email account just as is done with an email client on your Mac or with an email client on a PC.

• Outgoing Mail not working via personal hotspot

Hi, I am using an iPhone 5 to tether from my macbook pro. Mail works fine when connected to wifi but when I tether via the personal hotspot it fails to send emails. My provider is Three and I have tethered via a friend's iphone 5S also with Three and it works fine. Any clues?

• Mail not sent from iphone mail app

I tried to send a mail through the mail app through my gmail account. Was shocked that the mail was not sent nor I can find it in any of "sent" or "draft" boxes. And the very disappointing thing about this problem is that there was no errors, and I just knew about 12 hours later from the expected recipient that he did not receive my mail.
#SHOCKING
I hate iOS 7, thus I mat start to hate iPhone and Apple.

Has the Mobile Me account been set up on your iPhone as POP rather than IMAP? If it has been set up as POP then any message sent will not be mirrored. Your Mobile Me account should also be configured as IMAP on all your devices in order to see those messages in your Sent Items folder.
The idea of IMAP is to be device independent such that whatever you do is mirrored on all your devices as they each synchronize with Mobile Me. I suppose you could view the Mobile Me "cloud" as being the main repository. If you delete a message from your Inbox via your iPhone, the next time you connect your Mac that message will not appear in the associated Inbox in Mail.
Does that make sense?

• SUS - MM Scenario: notification mail not sent to all Supplier Users

Hi,
we're in a SUS-MM scenario and we publish Purchasing documents (PO and/or SAR) to SUS portal.
The notification mail for new published documents are sent only to the e-mail address of the Supplier (imported from SAP to SUS) which is in the SAP Supplier Master data. But if the Admin supplier creates other users for the supplier (F1 / F2 / F3), the notification mail for new published PO/SAR are not sent to the mail address of F1 / F2 / F3 users. Is it the standard behavior or is there some missing customizing setting missing?
Our customer wants that notification mail are sent to all the mail addresses of the Supplier Users.
Has someone had this kind of requirement? and, if it is not achievable via standard customizing, which could be the right solution to meet this requirement?
Thanks in advance

Hi,
This is a standard SAP process which SAP has provided,
The other way is to develop a custom program,
1) Select the Supplier.
2) Check the available contact persons of the Supplier.
3) When a document is created in ECC (Hope you are in MM-SUS), select the list of contact persons for Supplier. (I assume need a RFC FM to develop to SUS)
4) Send a e-mail to all users linked with this Supplier.
You can find the linked Contact persons in BP transaction and Table BUT000.
Please change the Status of the Issue once your problem solved, other will get benefitted. If possible post the soulution.
Thank you,
Anil

• Outgoing mail is sent repeatedly, outgoing mail is sent repeatedly

Open Mail's Window>Activity, stop it there then edit the email or delete it.

• APEX_MAIL - e-mail not sent anymore

Hi,
I created an evaluation application on apex.oracle.com. I created a page based on a procedure where a user can fill in e-mail addresses. The procedure should then send an e-mail to each e-mail address. This has worked for some time. I use APEX_MAIL.SEND to send the e-mails, and i can see them in the APEX_MAIL_QUEUE table. So far so good. But then even if i run APEX_MAIL.PUSH_QUEUE the e-mails are not sent. There are no errors in the MAIL_SEND_ERROR column.
In the APEX_MAIL_LOG table I can see 10 e-mails, 8 of them were sent successfully (the 2 others had syntax issues in MAIL_TO, I was experimenting how strict "comma separated" was meant :-) )
But the past 2 days I haven't been able to get any mail out. It just stacks in the queue table. I ran push_queue, without effect, and then deleted all rows in the queue to be sure the first row in the table contained a valid e-mail with existing and different mail_to and mail_from. But it has no use...
I searched the forum but none of the existing posts solved this. Since I use apex.oracle.com I have no access to a lot of the settings, but as I said I have been able to get 10 mails out, so I suppose settings for SMTP server etc. are correct.
Can anyone help me? Thanks,
Jan

I (Oracle) use(s) the latest version of apex I suppose? It's version 2.2.1.00.04
I can't test the mailserver using PHP, as I don't know it's name/address, it's maintained by Oracle.
My web application uses an evaluation workspace provided by Oracle, I don't have any control over "external" settings and configuration like the mail server. It is strange however that the first 10 e-mails got through (moved from APEX_MAIL_QUEUE to APEX_MAIL_LOG).
Anyone knows about a limitation of the number of e-mails allowed by Oracle? Or anyone else uses one of these evaluation workspaces and is (un)able to send e-mail? I can't get ant mail out since november 30th.
Thanks

• How to see mail NOT SENT?

i am trying to troubleshoot an issue where i am not sure if mail i write on the phone is getting sent out.
is there a way to check for email that was written on the phone but not sent?
also, is there a way to change a setting so that i get a confirmation that mail sent in the future goes out? i have seven or eight accounts so it would be ideal if this was one setting or one method as opposed to something i have to set in each account.
TIA

If an email cannot be successfully sent, it will remain in the Outbox mailbox which won't be available unless there is an email that was not successfully sent for whatever reason.
A successfully sent email will be in the account's Sent mailbox that sent the email - an email will not be in the account's Sent mailbox unless it was successfully sent.

• Mac mail outgoing mail not working with wildblue gmail account

My outgoing mail keeps saying offline. Cannot connect on the default ports. Tried changing ports, with and without SSL. Anybody have any solution?

I've recreated the account multiple times and finally have mail coming through under an "All Mail" label under "Gmail" on the left hand side of the application. The one thing I did do differently was uncheck the SSL box in advanced settings, save changes, recheck the SSL box, save changes. Mail started working after that.
Before this problem existed, I had [Gmail] in the "imap prefix" box in advanced settings in order to get rid of the gmail labels. I did this because I only wanted the Inbox and Sent Items to show in the far left. Right now, i'm only able to view my mail under an all mail folder beneath a Gmail Folder on the left had side. Can I get rid of all these folders and simply use my inbox and sent items icons?
Thanks,
Ryan
Thanks in advance.

• Outgoing mail not being sent

when replying or sending a new mail, the outgoing sits there an doesn't go out

dubwhitt,
I am going to assume you're using Apple's mail client as it's on version 4 in Snow Leopard. The easiest thing I can point you to, is Apple's own site to give you a step-by-step walkthrough for trouble shooting those email addresses.
1. Go to this link http://www.apple.com/support/macosx/mailassistant/
2. Selecting Mac OS X Snow Leopard
3. Enter one of the email addresses that isn't working. I believe your gmail account is one of them.
4. Click continue on the bottom.
5. Follow the instructions Apple provides, then select the third option "I want to verify settings on an existing account"
6. Follow Apple’s instructions again.
See if this solves any issues.

• Some outgoing mail not being received..

When I send email, it is marked as 'sent' in the sentbox, but people are not receiving it.. at the moment I am sending a second email to ask whether people have received the first. Sometimes they only receive the first email and not the second, sometimes the second and not the first, and sometimes neither...
the messages all show up in the sent box as 'delivered' so there is no way of working out which are at fault.. or why!?

It isn’t clear whether you’re talking about Mac OS
X’s Mail or about some webmail service, but if a sent
message doesn’t reach its destination, it could be
the outgoing server’s fault or, more likely, that the
message was filtered out by either the recipient’s
incoming mail server or the recipient’s mail client
for some (probably spam-related) reason.
Check that your System Preferences > Date &
Time settings are correct. An invalid timestamp
in the message headers could be the reason one of the
servers involved is rejecting those messages. And if
the mail client used to send those messages doesn’t
set the date & time correctly, that could also have a
bearing on this. .Mac webmail, for example,
apparently doesn’t add a Date header to the
messages sent that way, which could very well have a
bearing on those messages being filtered out at the
recipient’s incoming mail server.
We are having the same problem with our Mail program. Some recipients are not receiving emails at all. Some receive one but not another. Yesterday, an email was sent to one person, copying another. Neither received it. We resent. The second time was definitely received by the person who was copied (not sure about the "To"). Then, a couple of minutes, later, the first version appeared in the copied person's inbox. One person has been sent two different emails in two days and we are still getting a "haven't heard from you response." Yet, I know that majority of emails being sent out do go through.
I have checked the Date & Time in System Preferences to ensure that they are correct. (They are.) I have also thought that perhaps our domain or host has been barred by the affected recipients' email programs. After reading this, though, I am leaning more to the possibility that the problem lies with the outgoing server. It was recently switched to SMTP, and there were problems initially that I thought had been resolved.
BTW, Mail preferences are set up to pull emails directly from our website's host server and are set out via our ISP.
I'd like to know how everyone makes out.
Thanks,
Christopher

• Mail not sent as an attachment

Hi,
I create a Service Process and then a Complaint for it by copying a material.
Next I click a Return Request, Subsequent Delivery and then Credit Memo. After this a mail will be sent to the Email address of Sold to Party.
The Email is generated using a Smartform. The output of Smartform should arrive as a PDF attachment in mail but it is not coming as an attachment.
It is coming as a simple mail. is there any setting to be made for this.
Thanks,
Prasanna

Hi Prasanna,
you can change this in transaction 'scot' (double click on SMTP --> Button 'Set').
