Outline changes and aggregate partition

I have three cubes, one BSO that sits on top of two ASO cubes. The ASO cubes are partitioned (transparent) to the BSO cube that has no Data, the two others: one holds current year data and the other holds old data (historical data) both are the same except for Years dimension. So far things look pretty fine and I can get data from the data from the top cube.
My question is: how can I synchronize (preferably automated) the outline changes in the current cube (ASO) to reflect on the main cube (BSO), here are some scenarios:
-     Add a member to ASO_Current, the same member should be added to main BSO_Main
-     Delete a member of ASO_Current, the same member should NOT be deleted from the BSO_Main if it exists in ASO_History cube
-     Move a member to a different parent in the ASO_Current: how will that affect the BSO_Main and ASO_History when loading or viewing the data?
Any thoughts will be much appreciated.

    Welcome to Apple Support Communities
You have an Early 2008 Mac Pro. You have the specs that your Mac Pro needs for more memory > https://support.apple.com/kb/HT4433#4 As you can read, that computer should have come with 2 GB of memory.
You can buy memory at OWC or Crucial > http://eshop.macsales.com/shop/memory/Mac-Pro-Memory#800-memory Those sell compatible memory with all Macs. You can use another memory, but you can be sure that the memory that these brands sell are compatible

  • Do I need to change boot disk partition types - if so how?

I set my boot disk up with several partitions, one of which is the Apple_UFS partition type. I now want to be able to use if for Mac data files - pdfs, word docs, etc. (I'm running 10.4.11 on a powerpc - when I can afford an Intel macbook, I'll upgrade to Leopard).
    I have some questions:
    1) Will puttting Mac files on a Apple_UFS volume cause problems (rsource & data forks in files)? (If its OK, then skip to Q6 &Q7 which I'd like to know for future reference).
    2) Should I change the partition type (to Apple_HFSX)? There's no data on it now, so that's not a problem.
    3) Disk Utility won't let me change partition type, only change the name. Diskutil has the command " eraseVolume format name device", but I suspect that format is the current format, not a new format - please correct me if I'm wrong.
    4) pdisk interactive mode has the "t" command which looks like what I want.
    5) after the partition type is changed, I presume I then need to use newfs_hfs -
    6) I am confused about the device/partition name - "diskutil -l" shows "/dev/disk0" with the partition I want to change as "disk0s11". "pdisk - l" shows "/dev/rdisk0" and the partition number as 11. The "newfs_hfs -h" gives an example of "newfs_hfs -v Untitled /dev/rdisk0s7". So in my case, is my device "/dev/rdisk0s11"??
    7) I have an external firewire drive that also is partitioned. "pdisk -l" and "diskutil list" give different outputs - partitions 1-9 are the same on both (Apple stuff), but pdisk show several "Apple_Free" partitions that diskutil ignores - pdisk has 23 total partitions, hdutil has 18. So which number do you use for the disk-identifier?
Thanks for any help on this confusing matter.

The regular versions of PSE 10 have the same kind of automatic updating (just go to Help>Updates and let the updater do its thing) that full Photoshop has. You can update the raw converter in the app store version, but since apple requires that everything in app store programs has to live within the app package itself, the file paths are different, so unless adobe updates the whole program so you can update through the app store, the adobe updater doesn't know what to do. You can do it manually, but it's kind of complicated to dig everything out of the adobe update, not as simple as it was in older versions of PSE.
This thread over at the adobe forum gives you the general process for updating the app store version:

  • Shape outlines change size when skewed. Is this normal?

Good Morning InDeisgn Experts and Gurus,
I created a shape in InDesign CS5, and applied and outline to it of 4px.  However, when I skewed the shape, the size of the outline changed on the sides.
Is this normal? How would I remedy this, besides creating another but slughtly larger shape?  See attached image.
    Thanks.

I never noticed this before, but it seems the shear tool applies a live transformation at the original object -- you can see the shear angle in the control panel, and change it to something else, or even set it back to 0 to get its previous shape. Apparently, its outline is sheared along with it.
I know of only one way to force the transformation to "reset" to nothing: draw a very small rectangle right on top of your red object. Give it the same fill-and-stroke as the red object (use the Eyedropper tool for this). Select both, and then select Add in the Pathfinder panel. You will see that (1) the shear value in the control panel disappears, and is reset to 0°; and (2), the outline will behave normally.

  • Change of original partition - update problem

    Hi.
    I have a
    iMac 27"
    Sales Number(s): MC814LL/A
    Processor: 3.1GHz Core i5 (Quad-core 2400)
    Model #: A1312
It got a new harddisk and it can't update to OS 10.8.4 after that change.
I have been told that this is caused by "change of the original partition" of the harddisk.
I have reformatted, installed the original OS 10.6.6 several times, but still it cant update to Mountain Lion (OS 10.8.4.)
I find it very strange that it should be caused by a change of original partition, does anyone know?

There is no error message, have a look at this video showing the error
    http://youtu.be/mY22LK9XqiM
as mentioned it have been changed HD and graphic card on service (warranty) after that update is impossible. Service claim a software error or change of original partition.....witch I not belive. I belive service have used third party hardware....rather then wrong partition.
    what do you think?

  • Refreshing the OBIEE layers to incorporate Essbase outline changes

    Hi,
I am trying to establish a connectivity between Essbase(11.1.1.1.0.112) and OBIEE (10.1.3.3.2) to generate reports.
The "Import from Multi-Dimensional" menu option in the Oracle BI Administration tool is used to
create BI Server Physical layer. Once the physical cubes are imported, they are dragged and dropped into the Business Model and
Mapping Layer then into presentation layer.
The Essbase outline may change in the subsequent data loads because of addition of new dimension members.
In a normal scenario, it is required to redo the whole process (Import the outline again to physical layer, then move to the next layers) to incorporate the subsequent changes in the Essbase outline. I would like to know whether there is a way to automate the whole process? i.e. using any scripts or OBIEE utilities?
    Thanks in advance,
    Devi

In a normal scenario, it is required to redo the whole process (Import the outline again to physical layer, then move to the next layers) to incorporate the subsequent changes in the Essbase outline. It may be stated in the [OBIEE Essbase modelling guide|http://www.oracle.com/technology/products/bi/pdf/obiee-essbase-modeling-guide.pdf], but actually not necessary at all. First of all, dimension members don't require any rpd change at all since they will automatically flow in as members of their respective generation in the outline.
As for outline changes like lengthened, shortened hierarchies, new dimensions etc...read the solution here. In fact you can manually write a whole cube outline without going through the "Import" process a single time.
    Cheers,
    C.

  • Outline Change ASO cube in Version 7

    Hi Guys,
I am working on version 7 of EAS.
I have to make a minor change(add a child) to the outline in the ASO cube. I am not able to see the option of retain data with restructure ( which is the case with higher versions).
so how do i save the restructure and data in version 7 of Essbase.
    any inputs will be great
    Thanks
    Ram

You don't Version 7 deletes data with most outline changes. (Simple changes like chaging a formula might not delete data). THe whole premise of ASO cubes was you would always have the source data to reload from. In System 9 it was improved to be able to retain data in most cases

  • How to make Attribute Change run alignment & Hierarchy changes in Aggregat

    Hello
I want to understand that How to make Attribute Change run alignment & Hierarchy changes in Aggregate?
I posted previously the same question but there were not good answers and i was not able to understand clearly .....
If there is Process chain XXY which makes Attribute change run for Master Data 0SPELLING ?
Now there is Aggregate TRT which includes :
0SPELLING , Fiscal Period , Purchase Product, Purchase Category ?
Now pls answer following question ?
    1) Does the Process Chain XXY which makes only attribute change run alignment for 0SPELLING , Will this process chain automatically do the Change run alignment for 0SPELLING in Aggregate TRT ? YES or NO
    2) If Yes, then we are just suppose to do Roll up for Aggregate TRT after Process chian XXY completes and finish job ?
    3) If No, then what steps are suppose to be DONE so as to make sure that Aggregate TRT has new values and perfect values for 0SPELLING ?
Please answer and coorect if i have any wrong question....

    for e.g.
u have 0spelling whicha has attributes x,y and z on day 1 with 10 records
so do ur aggregates on day1 with same values
now on day2 u had new values of attributes y,z,s,d and new hierarchies and so u add new records
with data load u will load the data with version M of modified and is not available for reporting
If u do attribute change run then this modified version is activated to A i.e. active version .
It will also do the change run alignment for Aggregate for new attribute values and new hierarchy values for aggregate.
now in order for this data to be available for reporting u will need to do the roll up of aggregate.....
if u roll up aggregate before attribute change run , new data is not avaialable for reporting
if u roll up aggregate after attribute change run, then data is available for reporting
if u dont roll up aggregate eventhough new data is in dataprovider, still new data will not be available for reporting.
    this is how it works

  • Scripting essbase outline changes

<p>Where is the best information to use in learning how to scriptEssbase outline changes?  I'm very new to Essbase, but can seethat I would rather handle outline changes with a script as opposedto using the Hyperion Essbase Admin GUI.</p><p> </p><p>Thanks!</p>

Automated changes to the outline via a script - in its simplest form - take the form of a ready-to-use data source and a load rule, typically one for each dimension, but at times multiple per dimension. These can then both be further leveraged by writing a script - such as an ESSCMD or MaxL script, languages that are unique to Hyperion - which could then even be scheduled.<BR><BR>Please note that these are moderately complex topics, ones that will be impossible to learn via message board forums or email. Although you may be able to educate yourself by an in-depth analysis of the applicable chapters of the Dabatase Administrator's Guide, might I recommend that you plan on attending a class on the topic? Our Essbase Bootcamp (if versions 6 or 7) or the Analytic Services Bootcamp (if System 9) are both inclusive of the topics you seek and much more.         I'm sorry to learn that you have endured the audio issues outlined in your post for almost 2 years SusanLM1! This is certainly not normal! Let's get to the bottom of this issue, first please confirm your phone model; your mention that you have the iPhone 5 but your post is on the iPhone 5S forum. Also, share the iOS version currently installed on your phone. What is your ZIP code? Does this happen mainly while you make/receive calls from a particular location (home, office, etc)?

  • MBR changes and OKR doesn't work

In my case, with a G550, I'm not sure if I changed partition sizes or not, but I did have some MBR problems. Now I'd like to restore the machine to factory state, and "One Key" Recovery won't work. I've changed the factory partition to ID 12, and now at least the OKR button brings up a Windows boot error, whereas it had booted into Windows before. So at least it's trying to do something.
The central question I have is: is it possible to get a factory recovery disk? This OKR business is for the birds. What were they thinking of, to tie such an important function to such a fragile thing as a partition scheme? Lesson learned: burn recovery disks first thing.

OK, I called support. He said that if there have been any partition changes the OKR is no longer functional, period. He claimed there is no way to restore it with an MBR repair. It eludes me why there isn't some facility for finding the recovery partition after changes have been made. Hello?
He also said that new disks would restore the entire hard drive to factory status, and are not dependant on the recovery partition.
But at $59, it is not worth it to me, when my main goal is only to reload Windows. Unless I can come up with a way to restore recovery functionality, I'll probably just reinstall Windows, and even might reclaim 15 GB of disk space in the process.
But I would much rather have that recovery partition functioning.

  • Outline Synchronization in Transparent Partitioning

Hi,<BR><BR>Would it be possible to synchronize outlines in a transparent partition that uses different types of storage? I have a source db of ASO and target db of BSO. I tried GETPARTITIONOTLCHANGES using Esscmd, but didnt work since it requires both cubes of the same storage types. I also tried using 'refresh outline' from maxl, but it didnt seem to do any good. Anyone encountered this type of problem?<BR><BR>Gerd

Found out that this cant be done if the storage types between source and target are different.

  • How to increase Boot Camp partition without harming both Mac and Windows partition

    Hello Apple Support Communities.
I have made a Boot Camp partition with my Mac partition, but the problem is that I am running out of space on my Windows partition. (Darn you, Steam Summer Sale! )
Anyways, is there any way to increase the space on my Windows partition without harming both Mac and Windows partitions. I would prefer if I didn't need to delete the Windows Partition and do everything all over again, as I need to download and set up everything all over again. I also know that changing the Windows partition is a tricky and hard thing, and one step can harm my whole computer, but I think that it is worth the risk.
I really don't care how to do it, anything, from a bootable program, to anything. I just want to know how to do it.
So is there any way that I can increase the Windows partition of my Mac without harming both Mac and Windows partitions? Thanks.

This cannot be done using Boot Camp Assistant. But, you can try using Paragon Camptune X for Mac® – How it works.
