Is it possible to add an attachment to an email mail merge?

Actually, Mail merge doesn't support attachments.
To work around this behavior, publish the attachment to a Web site on the Internet. After you do this, provide the path link for the attachment in the body of the
merged document that you are sending.
Or you can use a mail merge utility that is designed to send attachments or use VBA.

    Yes, It is possible. You can merge contacts, calendars, and bookmarks between multiple computers.
    When you sync the contacts and calendars to your iPhone from the new computer you'll see the option to Merge or Replace, just choose Merge.

  • SO8: Problems with Mail Merge

    The mail merge wizard in SO8 seems much less flexible that in SO7.
    In SO7 I could insert any fields from a Calc spreadsheet into the Address locations in a letter: getting rid of blank lines was clumsy but it worked.
    SO8 seems to want to force me into using a set of predefined address formats, none of which does exactly what I want it to: my address format (for the UK) involves first name, last name, 5 address lines (the 3rd and 4th of which may be blank) and the postcode.
    Will this be enhanced in a future release?

    I am trying to use cells from different sheets in a spreadsheet for table entries in a mail-merged email document. Although the addresses in the table are correct, only values from the sheet the email addresses are on are appearing in the email document. This is a gradebook appliction--each sheet corresponds to a unit of assignments. I want to email from more than one unit at a time (say the overall grade sheet and the current unit).     Apple has not made worthwhile changes to Pages v5 for nearly 18 months, so it is unlikely that they will have a surge of conscience over missing features.
    If you have an iWork '09 DVD, and the Apple 9.3 updater, use that as it has mail merge and 100+ additional features built-in. Otherwise, you can download LibreOffice, or OpenOffice (order by functionality) Office suites for free. I use LibreOffice myself.

    I just found out about the function to generate mail merged PDFs and send them via email. I tried that using Outlook 2007 as the email client, but it seems to me that Acrobat generates RTF emails instead of plain text. That causes many email clients, except Outlook, just to display a file called winmail.dat instead of the actual PDF file.
    I already checked the settings in Outlook and made sure that new mails are started in plain text mode. If I do this manually the email becomes plain test. But not automatically with Acrobat.
    Does anybody have a solution on that? I'm using Adobe Acrobat 9.1.

    Hi andré, I guess the issue is coming from the fact that you selected "AllPartiesInvolved" and that may contain any numbers of entries. So when you test your webservice, you put a key and then get a result for that key, and in that case you might get "element1" until "element3" for example if there was 3 partners involved in you activity.
    But, when you design your template, you don't have a key at that moment, so in the Web Service structure, you have "items" which stands for all the possible entries you might retrieve at runtime. I guess you could use an index in your template to specify which item you need, but this is quite hasardeous, so i would be you, I would not design my web service to use "AllPartiesInvolved" but rather a specific Partner type like contact person for instance.

    A form designed in LiveCycle Designer with a Submit By Email button, doesn't launch Outlook 2010 (Standard Edition) when clicked, although Outlook is properly configured as Default Mail Client.  Checked with Microsoft and followed all proper steps yet the button doesn't invoke Outlook onClick.  However, Outlook is launched if a link or html button, set to the mailto syntax is clicked.  Is this a PDF form issue for LiveCycle or is there something I am missing?  Please any ideas?

    I have this problem on Win7 64bit, but it seems to work fine with XP and Vista. Not sure about Win7 32bit.
    I've also seen the problem in the past with programs like Thunderbird set to be the default email client (on XP).
    I've never been able to figure out if it's an Adobe or Microsoft problem. Adobe uses the MAPI settings to find the email client.

  • TS3276 Mail merging emails with no apparent connection in one thread

    Hi.
    This is a problem which started about 2 months ago and had gotten progressively worse.
    Mail is merging emails from different people on different days with different subject titles into one long thread. There is no apparent reason or connection between the emails so I can't work out why Mail thinks they should all go in one thread.
    It is even merging emails directed to my 3 different email accounts (but which are all managed in Mail) into the same threads. So for example, if someone emails me on [email protected] and someone else emails me on [email protected], they are merging into the same threads.
    It doesn't do it with all the emails in my account, it just groups certain ones together. There are about 10 different threads with between 5-10 different sets of emails merged together in each thread.
    I use Mail on two different computers and it is doing the same on both.
    Can any one help to explain why it is doing this and how I can stop it? I want to keep the thread option but obviously only having the thread full of emails from the one person responding to their email rather than it merging 5-10 different peoples emails into one thread when they have no connection, different subject headings and so forth.

    Tried this but it hasn't solved the problem.
    As I mentioned, it happens on an iMac and a macbook where the mail is set to the same accounts. The exact same threads of messages merge. However on the macbook  there are 3 email accounts and they all merge emails. On the iMac there are only 2 email accounts which show the same merged email threads as the macbook but without the 3rd email address's email mixed in.
    Any help is appreciated!

  • Outlook 2010 issue with .pub attachments and read-only

    Just starting this week per users they can't open a .pub(publisher) document from Outlook 2010, then edit the document click save or click the send to email button without being prompted to save the file to their my doc's or some where.  Tested
    it out and get the same error.  I can click forward, then click on the publisher attachment, then edit and save or click the X to close the document and the attached document includes the changes.  Then I can email out.  So it works that way
    but not the way they did it before.
    Also we did install updates last week so could be an recent update that is causing the issue.
    Appreciate any idea's or suggestions.

    Workstations are on a domain
    Also it may appear to be more of a issue with 2000 .pub type of files.  As users can create a 2010 .pub file and it works great fine.  But every time a user opens a 2000 .pub file via outlook and tries to edit and save it requests the
    user to do a save as, vs. save to outlook temp location.

  • Need help with mail merge

    I created a mail merge using Outlook for Mac (2011) and Word for Mac (2011). I'm creating an email that uses only three fields from the data source (Email, Name, Company) and creating new emails. However, all my line breaks disappear once the Word document creates the emails.
    All my research points to unchecking a "Remove extra line breaks" option but all the directions are for PCs. I can't find this on my Mac. I have tried creating new columns in my data source and creating a line break within them, but that still doesn't fix the problem.
    How do I create emails with a mail merge and keep my line breaks? Is there a preference in Outlook I need to modify?

    I have both Pages '09 and Pages 5.2 installed on my Mavericks OSX 10.9.2 boot drive. They do not interfere with each other at all. Apple has all Apps sandboxed since Lion.
    Menu > Insert > Merge Field > Choose
    NB How the Merge Inspector adds the new fields to its list:
    Dragged the VCard (the blue highlighted name) of the Contact onto the Pages document below:
    The Result:
    For multiple merges make up a Group in Contacts and drag the Group onto the Pages document and it will reproduce several pages of merges.

  • Exchange 2010 SP3 UR8v2 - Outlook 2010 Sluggishness when sending an email - Green progress bar - I'm clueless

    Hi All,
    Really scratching my head on this one.
    Prior and Post UR8v2 patching, some folks were experiencing an issue with their Outlook in which they'd try to send an email and then the dreaded green progress bar shows up.
    Further issues today are Outlook 2010 pop-ups with the following:
    Certificate pop-up (our OWA Cert) with the "IP Address" instead of something like "webmail.contoso.com." 
    Outlook pop-up with "Allow this website to configure
    [email protected] server settings?"  The autodiscover link contained the IP Address instead of the "webmail.contoso.com"
    We have a 3 node CAS Array and a Cisco ASA that is serving up a VIP for "webmail.contoso.com."
    I'm not even sure where to being.  We are patching the CAS Boxes tonight.  The folks that have had issues were all on different databases.  I cannot seem to find a common ground.
    Any thoughts you have I'd be very grateful for,

    Creating new mail profiles didn't resolve the issue.  The issue would remain.  It's impressive how complex the environments can be nowadays...Unified Messaging, Airwatch & Activesync, Cisco Unity, Symantec Vaulting, AV, Lync, Symprex Mail Signatures,
    etc.
    We don't use cached profiles due to issues experienced over the years with Calendaring items going wonky.
    I dug into using ExMon.exe to try and view what was going on.  Didn't really see much that stuck out.
    Two of the CAS boxes had mail.que files that were around 1.3GB.  I did resolve that last Friday and I'm not really certain if that was the fix(in addition, I saw MS15-009 get deployed from Desktop).  I'm no longer receiving tickets regarding slowdown
    and it's near impossible to receive correspondence back from the Users.
    I also contacted Microsoft Support and we had plans to try the following:
    Add host file entry (C:Windows/System32/drivers/etc) for “mycasarray.domain.org” - pointing to ‘IP’ of any one CAS server (CAS1/ CAS2/ CAS3), individually on certain selected 2 or 3 internal client PCs to by-pass load balancer
    Note the exact time of issue with the user name and Outlook version
    Try sending multiple emails without any signature
    Check if able to send multiple emails in OWA without any delay or issue
    Try sending emails without any signature
    Try adding signature to Outlook email and check Outlook’s connection status to confirm if Outlook disconnected
    Try launching Outlook using switch ‘Outlook /safe’
    Check if any event getting triggered from Outlook source at time of issue in affected client PC (Application and System event logs)
    I'm wondering...is it plausible that a mail.que file larger than 1GB could've caused issues?  There were no space issues on the CAS boxes.

  • Trouble sending attachments with Mail 7.0

    I just upgraded to Mavericks and I just started using Mail 7.0 to manage my email (switching from Outlook 2011 for Mac).  I'm using an early 2008 Mac Pro.  I'm having trouble sending emails with attachments through Mail 7.0.  Any attachment regardless of file type or size doesn't go through on the first try.  I compose my email, hit send and then after sitting in the outbox for a minute or two I get this error message...
    I then click on "Try With Selected Server" and sometimes it will send after that and sometimes it won't.  File size doesn't seem to matter.  I switch back to Outlook and all attachments send just fine.  Outlook has its own bugs (that's why I'm trying to switch to Mail) so I'm trying to make Mail my email app.
    Any help is greatly appreciated.  Let me know if you need any more info.  NOTE: I'm not an IT person so please try to dumb down your answers to a first grade level.

    I am also having the exact same issue only with exchange emails that have attachments... funny thing is the problem only persistis on my MacBook not on my Imac.  Both running Mavericks, set up identically and both totally up to date.   I will on occacsion get the can't send mail error on the imac but after I click try again it goes through... on the MacBook I'm not so lucky and end up having to email people dropbox links to every darn file I want to send from my laptop.  Talk about a pain in the butt.  Apple please address and fix. 
    btw the unchecking auto discovery trick didn't make any difference for me

  • Synch Outlook 2010 diary with iphone 4 - was fine, now calendar gone!

    I've just updated to Outlook 2010, and my iphone now won't sync with Outlook calendar, now wiped its entire contents so no diary at all on iphone!  It goes thru the motions, but nothing is there.  Fine and dandy in my Outlook on the pc.  Daren't try synch with my ipad in case the same happens.  Any bright ideas please.     I'm posting this here because your answers didn't help with my particular problem but aimed me in the right direction. so maybe this will help someone else.

    At the bottom of the calendar app click Calendars there should be a check to the left of your calendar. (my calendars weren't even listed here)
    The google.com/calendar/iphoneselect solution. (mine was checked correctly)
    Google 2-step verification (I even turned this on to see if it would help)
    Deleting all accounts “Settings – Mail,Contacts,Calendars – Accounts” and starting over

    Since I deleted all my accounts already this is what worked I don't know why.
    Under “Settings – Mail,Contacts,Calendars – Accounts”
    I added my google account “add account” “Google”... so on. Calendar was selected.
    I added a second account “add account” “other” (at bottom) scroll down to “add CalDav Account” under calendars.
    Server= www.google.com
    user name = your email
    password = your password
    description = whatever
    Calendar was selected.
    Then I went to “Settings – Mail,Contacts,Calendars – Accounts” and down towards the bottom I clicked “default calendar” and set it.

    My iPhone 3 had been syncing fine with Outlook 2003 via Google Sync.  I recently had to reload my PC, wiped it and installed Outlook 2010 as part of the reload; when I tried to install Google Sync I learned it was no longer available for download after December 14th.....I did have it on another PC, moved it over but got an error message. So I am no longer able to make calendar changes on my iPhone and have them sync to Outlook or vise versa.  In addition my Google calendar is now empty....

    no you can not do that. You can sync any web calendar that supports web dav to lightning, but Microsoft have chosen to not use the open standard and instead only offer a Microsoft Proprietary interface. Nothing new here though. They only offered a Microsoft Proprietary interface to download mail for many years. They call it innovation. I call it vendor lock in.
    Interestingly enough you can sync office 365 calendar via OWA but not outlook.com
