Outlook 2010 not showing up under default programs .
I'm running a windows server 2008 R2 and one of the clients is complaining the mailto protocol opens google chrome .
did the following :
-Checked the default programs ( only chrome shows up in here )
-Checked the registry key ( root , local machine and users ) they are pointing to the outlook.exe
I'm kind off at a loss here , why am i not seeing outlook in the default program , i do see chrome and the mailto protocol is ticked on here but grayed out ...

By this, do you mean when we go to Control Panel\All Control Panel Items\Default Programs\Set Associations, the Current Default column shows Chrome for the mailto URL?
If we click the Change Program button, can you change it to Outlook?
In addition, we may also try to change the default browser to Internet Explorer and then test the issue again.
Please let me know the result.

This little issue is driving me nuts! Occasionally, and seemingly at random, when I reply to an e-mail in Outlook 2010 it will refuse to show the "you replied on" status and the icon in the list will not change from the regular one to the one with the little
purple arrow indicating I've replied. This is very frustrating as sometimes I can't remember if I've replied to an e-mail or not, and have to go hunt through my sent items to confirm if I did.
It seems to happen to about 20% of my e-mails and I have no idea why. Is this an Outlook bug?
We're running Exchange 2007 and a BES. I've read that this issue may have something to do with BlackBerry replication; but how do I fix this???Hi

From your description, this problem might occur if you has a desktop alert for and opens the email with BES or .OST file corrupted.
The Item then gets modified by the BES server.
You type your email and click send.
The reply status does not change.

We can follow these steps to test this issue:

If you use a third-party program that may be causing this issue, let the third-part program retrieve the e-mail message before you open it. To do this,
wait for several minutes before you open the e-mail message after you start Outlook 2010. The interval of time that you wait varies depending on your computer and on your configuration.

Outlook 2010 not showing Exchange 2010 archives, OWA does.
We have activated Exchange 2010 archives for all users but most of them are not showing up in their Outlook, but everyone can see them in OWA.
Office 2010 Standard - MAK licenses, 2 distinct keys
Majority of systems are Windows XP, some Vista and 7.
Through testing it seems to be a system problem. Using 3 test accounts I log onto various systems, some freshly reimaged, some pre-existing. The test account profiles were new to each system. Sometimes the archive folder would appear, sometimes it wouldn't,
but it was consistent per computer. Meaning that if the folder didn't appear for 1 person, it didn't show up for anyone on that specific computer.
Anybody know how to fix this? Am I missing a setting or registry key somewhere?

GregOk, just spent some time looking into this more, if you google "office 2010 suite and version comparison guide pdf" and locate the .pdf file and open it, on page 17 under
Managed E-Mail Folders & Retention Policy:
"Provide a secondary location for users to store their e-mail messages and
manage their mailbox quota with new online managed folders. Unlike localOutlook Data Files (PSTs), this information can be backed
up and managed by Exchange Server." - is an Office Professional Plus feature only.
So, it would appear that we now not only have to purchase an enterprise CAL for Exchange, but Office Professional Plus as well so we can, I suspect, use the
one extra useful feature that most sys admins wanted Exchange 2010 SP1 for in the first place, which is so centrally manage e-mails and e-mail archives. Whilst this may not be a big deal for larger companies, educational institutes
etc, as the sys admin for a small private business with 70 users, this extra cost hurts. As for the lack of clarity - if you want to tie up Office versions with Exchange functionality, how about standardizing naming conventions - call the Exchange
CALs "standard" and "professional" to match the required Office clients, or rename Office Professional to Office Enterprise - either way, match up the client apps and CALs to make it clearer. -
Photoshop CC 2014 does not show up in Default Programs to associate with correct extensions.
I am trying to re-associate file types such as .jpg with Photoshop CC 2014. The executable file does not show up even after I select it by browsing to it. What do I need to do so my image file types open in Photoshop like they did in CC / CS6? I have uninstalled Extension Manager and CC 2014 and reinstalled. No luck.
Are you on Windows on Mac?
On Windows I found my registry need and update. The key HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\Applications\Photoshop.exe\shell had two lower keys edit and open. The edit command was updated to CC 2014 but Open command was still CC so I updated the open key the fix your problem on my machine. -
Gmail not listed under default programs how do I select it?
Trying to set gmail as default for email when clicking on a "reply to" address. It is not listed under default programs. How do I add it or what can I do to make gmail or any other non-microsoft program the default?
For links inside Firefox, you can change a setting in the Options dialog. This article has the steps: [[Change the program used to open email links]].
For links outside Firefox, you may want to check with Google on what they suggest. (Well, they suggest using Google Chrome, but I meant other than that!) -

Contacts from 2010 not showing info in 2013
I recently upgraded from 2010 to 2013. When the contacts moved over i cannot find all of the information like anniversary date that was in the details tab of 2010. Is there an icon or setting that i am missing to see all of this previous information?

As per the information and details provided by you, Contacts from 2010 not showing info in 2013, then please follow these steps: -
After switch from Outlook 2010 to 2013, simply press
CTRL+3 to see an overview of all your Contacts folders. If the folder is there and holds your contacts, then either the folder has not been set as an
Outlook Address Book or Outlook Address Book Service is broken in your mail profile.
If the contacts are not in the contact folder, then you either forgot to select the folder when creating an export, or didn’t select the folder when importing the
PST-File. You can take a fresh copy of your backup or the pst-file that you imported from.
Then connect to the pst-file in Outlook via:
File > Open > Open Outlook Data File
Now, check the contacts folder again. If you did not find your Contacts in that pst-file, you can select them all
(CTRL+A) and move them (CTRL+SHIFT+V) or copy them
(CTRL+SHIFT+Y) to your main contact folder.

New events on Outlook 2010 not syncing with Iphone and Ipad
I have gone through the nonsensical uninstall/reinstall every 5 restars. This time my new events or contacts on Outlook do not show on iPhone or Ipad. There is also a new confirguration where the Outlook does not separate the iCloud calendar from Outlook calendar but lists them all, then iCloud as a separate box at the bottom. I've tried dragging to that box with no success. I make about 50 appointments and reminders to my calendar each week and use all devices whether in the office or out. How dare Apple not fix this known issue.
I just looked at topic called "Outlook 2010 - Outlook does not sync with iPhone / iTunes and used the fix suggested in that string of posts. It appears to have worked!!! My happy camper.

Print management not showing up under administrative tools

for some reason even though i have all the proper roles etc installed print management is not showing up under admin tools. i have manually added the snap in to mmc console and saved that to a location for easy access, but the members on my team would like
to have it available to them under admin tools, does anyone know a) why it does not show up or b) how to add my saved mmc snap in so it shows up under admin tools?

-chazVery strange. I just added it to a Windows Server 2012 R2 server and it shows up in Tools.
Microsoft tools, into the Tools menu on Server Manager, you just need to put an entry in the C:\ProgramData\Microsoft\Windows\Start Menu\Programs\Administrative Tools directory. You can even rearrange things, create sub-directories with different sets
of tools, ACL the entries, etc.

Colour Effects not showing up under effects panel anymore?

After trashing my preferences due to an export issue, and then updating the app, the colour effects bar is not showing up under the Video Effects window like it did using the default layout. Using command-6 still pulls up the colour board but I cannot create masks or access it like I used to. The window now looks like this:
I know it's probably a simple fix but I can't figure it out.. Is there a way to restore factory settings?

i downloaded a couple text tones and since installing 8.1.1, they will not show up under the sounds tab. in fact, they do not show up in my recent purchases on itunes, but when i go to buy them again, it says that i have already bought this tone. I just want to use the tones i paid for as the tones on my phone. not asking much.... thanks for the help. i hope someone can help me get the tones working. thank you.
This was happening to me too but only for some of my songs. I have a mac so I dunno about PCs, but for most of my ringtones I had to create an ACC version in itunes to make them short enough then turn that into a m4r and those all worked fine. But if the song was already short enough and I didn't create an ACC version and just turned the original into a m4r, then it wouldn't appear in my itunes.
so if you're on a mac:
1. go to get info, options, pick when you want the song to start and end.
Has to be pretty short to work, 30 second or less is good
if it's already short enough that's fine
2. right click and click 'create ACC version'
a copy with the length you put in will appear, drag that into a folder or whatever and just type in m4r where m4a would be
still make an ACC version even if it's the right length
Hopefully this helps someone else. -
There are several albums that I've previously purchased that somehow were deleted from my computer & iPad. When I go to download available purchases on PC it say that all available punches have been downloaded. When I check iTunes Store it show as "purchased". When I try to check & download from iCloud via either iPad or PC these items do not show up under items purchased.
I can't even re-purchase the item, which I've tried since it shows as purchased in iTunes Store. This is very troublesome because there is no way for me to access these previous purchases. I have been using iTunes & various Apple products with the iTunes Store for several years & there is a lot of money invested in these previous purchases, that there is no way for me to access. As mentioned, I'd even be willing to re-purchase some of these items (though this should be unnecessary). But, the iTunes Store won't let me, because the items show up as purchased in store, but not on any of my devices!!!

If, while searching through your past purchases, items are unavailable to download and show a "Purchased" button, they are still on your computer. It may be best to search your iTunes library by clicking Music, then use the search bar at the top right.
If you are completely sure the items are no longer in your library, try signing out of the iTunes Store, and then back in.
