Outlook activex attachments

hello
does anybody knows how can we send emails with attachments using outlook express with activex control (using labview)?
I can send emails with no attachment but I can't find a way to attach a (single) file.
thanks in advance
joão

Hi,
You can found on the link below an example to do control outlook with LV.
http://zone.ni.com/devzone/cda/epd/p/id/3708
I have modify this example to add attachments functionnality (see my VI attach on this post)
But you have easier ways:
Does your email server require authentication? If not, you can use the built-in LabVIEW functions in the SMTP palette.
Use the Internet Toolkit (though you need to buy this).
You can use the .NET libraries.
You can use the OpenG SMTP libraries. You can get a modified version that meets the no-linefeed-only-lines rule from this thread.
You can found on this post more details :

  • Outlook viewing attachments as imbedded

Lately, my attachments sent from Mail have shown up on receiving PCs imbedded and are not extractable. Even Macs using Outlook receive attachments this way.
Anybody get this? Is there anything I can do on my end? What's a mother to do?

Just wanted to provide a bit of my experience. When sending email from Mail to PC/Outlook Express, attachments (jpegs, gifs) were visible in the message body but the Outlook Express Attachments button was not visable. Troubleshooting a bit demonstrated that the addition of a signature to the outgoing message would cause the missing attachments button problem. Messages were RTF. After disabling the signature, the Outlook Express Attachments button returned.
After finding this thread and switching to plain text messages, I was able to use signatures and add attachments with no Outlook Express Attachments problem.

  • Outlook created attachments in calendar not showing

Hello , I know this is an old chesnut; but I was wondering if anyone has found a good solution to this.
My firm uses Outlook for it's Email/Calendar/Contacts on their workstations.
I have recently migrated for my enterprise smartphone from many years with a Blackberry to an iPhone 5 - love it; except for:
1.Cannot see attachments on calendar entries, which is a real pain.
    2. Can't use the Office Communicator chat - which I can live without
Regarding the  attachments, most people set up recurring meetings, and attach the phone numbers/passwords in this, either excel/word or pdf.
I have changed the Outlook preferences, to "do not delete after acceptance" so it can be kept in the Inbox of the mail to access, however if I archive this, it is lost.
I could create an Email mailbox, that I move the  accepted meeting notices in, that is never Archived - but this seems a non intergrated solution. I can also see a very manual way, of opening them up and  pasting in the details into the event; but surely something more smart is possible.
And then if someone has attached other files I won't see these.
I know the  argument, that meeting notices often get lots of updates etc, and the system would choke up with big attachments etc; but usually they are just simple lists of numbers.
Is there some kind of plug in/app or settings somewhere than can be fettled with to allow me just to see the simple attachments I want to see?
And before some smart chap starts talking about sharepoints, and the like, this is a giant firm, with a global work force, not everyone has iphones, and to change entire work practices for the few will not be possible - so best practice zealots, please I know you think you are speaking for  the good of mankind; but unless you can come up with a solution, I can do on an individual basis and does not require the Corperate IT team changing policies for 20 000 people, please keep it to yourself.
Sorry about the last rant - but in trying to get answers before on things like this, I have seen these types parachute in , not read what is being asked and preach on their soapbox.
    Stay Safe!

    Hi,
Please try below steps to troubleshoot the issue:
Please delete related rule, recreate it and check if issue persists.
Try to to use scanpst.exe tool to repair your data file. Please refer to this article on how to use
    scanpst.exe:
    http://office.microsoft.com/en-us/outlook-help/repair-outlook-data-files-pst-and-ost-HA102749454.aspx
If you are not sure which rule caused this issue, you can use Outlook switches (In the
Run dialog box, run outlook.exe /cleanrules) to remove all rules and recreate the desired ones. (Note, make sure to backup your rules before removing rules.)
Try with a new profile and see what happens. For how to create an Outlook profile, please refer to:
    http://office.microsoft.com/en-us/outlook-help/create-an-outlook-profile-HA102749460.aspx
    Hope this helps.

  • Outlook 2010 - attachments with mail merge email

Is it possible to add an attachment to an email mail merge?

    Hi,
Actually, Mail merge doesn't support attachments.
To work around this behavior, publish the attachment to a Web site on the Internet. After you do this, provide the path link for the attachment in the body of the
merged document that you are sending.
Or you can use a mail merge utility that is designed to send attachments or use VBA.
More information, you can refer to these articles:
You cannot add an attachment to an e-mail message as part of the mail-merge operation in Word

  • I receive an email from Outlook with attachments but when I forward it the attachments are lost.

One particular person sends attachments which I can open fine but I can't forward them unless I store them and re-attach. The attachments have "size unknown" label in the email.
A friend of mine who get the same emails from the same sender doesn't get the attachments at all. Her ISP gives "images blocked for your protection".
Can the sender do anything to fix this? All other mail and attachment work fine.

RTF = Microsoft proprietary and has no place in email. Email is HTML and Text.
Contact the sender and ask them to disable any RTF in their mail and point them to this http://office.microsoft.com/en-us/outlook-help/recipients-receive-a-winmail-dat-attachment-HA010153018.aspx..
The best solution is don't use Outlook.

  • Outlook Meeting Attachments in e-mail Campaigns

    Hi,
I have been asked to provide the functionality so that when an e-mail campaign is executed, to have an Outlook meeting icon sent with the e-mail to put the item in the recipients Calendar.
This is assuming the recipient uses MS Exchange of course.
Has anyone done anything similar to this? Is it even possible?
    Thanks
    David

    Hi David
have a look to the SAP- Produkt Groupware - Mapbox.
This can replicate Data to Outlook, for excample meetings in the calendar.
We use this feature, but we have a lot of problems.
    Perhaps this solve your problem.
    regards

  • Outlook calender attachments

How do I open a calender invitation on my Iphone sent via outlook. Is there a way to confirm the appointment without first accepting it on my computer and the syncing?

    TB88 wrote:

You need to have your iPhone setup to retrieve the email, from the Exchange server. Once you have that done, once you receive an invite, an email and an invite will be synced. If you have push, the invite will show up in your calendar, and you will see the badge also over the calendar. In case you do not have push turned on, open you calendar, on your phone, and wait for it to sync. Then, click on the "inbox" which in on the bottom right of your calendar. here you can now accept, tentative or decline. Once you do this, the appointment shows up in your calendar, and the Inbox message is removed from your phone.
If you do not have the exchange setup on your phone, these cannot be done on the phone, only via the iTunes sync.

  • Outlook webmail attachments

I'm try to view an attachment (word doc) from an email using outlook webmail to my corporate account. But it tells me I must first save the document - which obviously I can't do on the touch. (This is the save way it works with Safari on my Mac.) Has anyone figured out a way around this problem???
    Thanks!

Unfortunatley, no. I too use the system your using, and attachements in e-mails, unless pictures, are not retreivable or viewable from iPod Touch.

  • Attachments in a group email sent from outlook 2007 do not show in the message

iPad doesn't show attachments in a group email sent from a Windows 7 PC using outlook 2007. Doesn't matter what the attachment is, if it is sent to a group created in Outlook the attachments do not come through. Is this a bug in iOS? My Google Nexus 4 phone handles the attachments just fine.

What happens if you read the email using 'PlainText view' ?

Do you have anti-virus software scanning emails?
If yes, then switch it off to see if it is effecting the emails when it downloads.

Thank you very much Toad-Hall. That is the information I needed. Perfect!

  • Attachments missing in Outlook 2010 but show in Web APp

There was another thread showing this but the answer provided does not seem to apply.  Exchange 2010 SP1 running as virtual system on Server 2008 R2.  4 cores, 12 GB of RAM, 60 GB of free disk space.
Had an e-mail come in addressed to 2 different people and neither showed the attachment.  Forwarded e-mail to my account.  Using Outlook 2010 on all systems.  The forwarded mail shows as an attachment of 3MB but when I open it, it is just
the message with no attachments.  Open my Outlook Web App and the same e-mail now shows the attachments.   I believe the fact that 3 different accounts show the same result eliminates the possibility of corrupt Outlook profiles.
Have rebooted the Exchange server with no change.
    Any help would be appreciated!
    Thanks,
    Eric

Is there any firewall hardware on your local network?
What is kind of your attachment?
Can you receive the same attachment which is compress by zip or winrar ?
Special format attachment will be blocked by outlook or firewall.
It is the way to receive special file by outlook.
    1.
    Make sure Outlook is closed.
    2.
Open your registry editor by opening the Run command and type
    regedit (regedt32 for Windows 2000).
In Windows Vista and Windows 7 you can also directly type regedit in the Start Menu’s Search box.
    3.
    Locate the following key
    Outlook 2000
    [HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Office\9.0\Outlook\Security]
    Outlook 2002
    [HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Office\10.0\Outlook\Security]
    Outlook 2003
    [HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Office\11.0\Outlook\Security]
    Outlook 2007
    [HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Office\12.0\Outlook\Security]
    Outlook 2010
    [HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Office\14.0\Outlook\Security]
    4.
Go to Edit-> New-> String Value and name the value
    Level1Remove (case sensitive!)
    5.
Double-click on the newly created value and enter the extension including the "dot" that you want to open in Outlook. For instance .exe
    If you need to enter more than one extension you'll have to type separate them by a semicolon like this;
    .exe;.bat;.url
    6.
Press OK on the input box and close the registry editor
    7.
When you open now Outlook, the attachments which hold those extensions aren't blocked by Outlook anymore.
To let Outlook block those extensions again follow the instructions again but instead of creating the Level1Remove
    value delete it.
Another way is to move this mailbox to another database. Maybe there is little corruption in this database.

  • Why do attachments still not work in outlook on ipad 4

    why is this still aproblem

i go into safari, open up hotmail acoount and now its outlook the attachments don't work. I can send mail in with attachments (pictures) I can view them on my ipad, but when trying to forward the message with the attachment nothing is there. In a new message the paperclip does not work and I can't cut and paste attachments between in and out mails, or I don't know how to. Been into this forum and lot of people have the same problem, just hoped apple would have it fixed by now.

  • Outlook 2010 stripping attachments

I have a group of users on Outlook 2010 SP2. They have two accounts set up on their computers. One is their standard Exchange account, and the other is an IMAP account that they all share (it's a common departmental e-mail account).
Early last week, all the users except one encountered an issue where attachments sent from the IMAP account were being stripped by Outlook. Attachments sent from their individual Exchange accounts still go through without an issue.
I have been monitoring the logs on the SMTP server the IMAP account is set up to use, and the attachments never make it to that server, so they aren't being removed there. However, the attachments are still on the e-mail in the users' Sent folders on the
IMAP server. I tried 3 different SMTP servers we have available, and the result was always the same.
No changes were instituted on the computers (by me) prior to this happening. Out Exchange server is run by a different IT group, but like I said the IMAP account is somewhat isolated from Exchange.
It doesn't matter if the attachment is Word, PDF, image file, etc. It also doesn't seem to matter if they're inline (like an image) or not. They all get stripped. Logging has been turned on and I don't see any errors jumping out at me.
Things that I've tried that haven't worked:
Disable AV software (they're using SCEP 2012)
    Using Outlook in Safe Mode
Starting fresh from a new Profile
    Disabling TNEF in the registry
Making sure e-mail is sent as HTML, not as RTF
    Erasing the Autofill cache
The only possible clue I've managed to find is after starting a user from a fresh Profile, I set up her IMAP account and tested it, and the attachments sent. Once I added her Exchange account, they started getting stripped again. This led me to think there
was a server issue again, except that it isn't affecting all users, just most of them.
    Any ideas?

    Hi,
If the Exchange account is removed from that profile, will the issue persist or disappear?
Have you also disabled the firewall to try again? If not yet, disable the firewall to test again.
