Outlook for Mac IMAP Account Issues

Hi all,
Hoping someone can help me!
I'm having mega-issues with my setting up a new IMAP account I have through 123-reg. I'm on Outlook for Mac 2011 v14.4.8
The story so far:
I set up the account and had it working (after originally being given the incorrect password by tech support, they gave me the right one and it then worked). I've then used the account for about a week with some teething issues like send/receive taking longer than my other IMAP account to load and occasionally having to close and reboot the Outlook for Mac app for it to work. Also the regular error message coming up saying it can't sync and wanting me to re-input my login info.
Now, it just hasn't synced at all since Sunday and in the account settings the dot is the dreaded yellow!
I feel like I've tried everything. Setting i'm using are:
Incoming:
imap.123-reg.co.uk - port is 993
TICKED - Use SSL to connect (Recommended)
Outgoing:
smtp.123-reg.co.uk - port is 465
TICKED - Override Default Port
TICKED - Use SSL to connect (Recommended)
More Options:
Use Incoming Server Info
Any help would be much appreciated - don't really know where else I can go for assistance?!

Hello,
Since the issue also happens on the user's mobility, it can be more than a Entrouge client side issue.
The first thing come to my mind is the nichname cache which still resides on the user's mailbox. Please try clearing it up and see if it works.
Thanks,

  • Outlook for Mac 2011 Calendar issue

Hi guys, hope someone can help.
I am experiencing issues with Outlook for Mac 2011. When users create their own entries in public calendars they can edit / delete them no problem up until about 2 weeks after the creation date. Then only people set to the 'Owner' permission can
    edit or delete them.
This is affecting all users. Has anyone else experienced this? Anyone know how to sort it?

  • Send Issues with Outlook for Mac (2011 / V15) and Exchange 2013 SP1

    Hi all,
we have a strange issue with only with Outlook for Mac Users (version 2011 and the newest Outlook Version (V15) from Office 365) connected to our Exchange Server 2013 SP1. Some emails which we send out to the exactly same recipient are not sent through our
    Exchange Server.
We have sent 8 emails with subject "test1, test2, test3...". Only test 3-6 was arriving to the recipient. The other emails are in the "sent" folder but it was not sent out through the Exchange.
What we can see with "Get-MessageTrackingLog" is, that the Recipients and MessageSubject are empty for these emails:
    Timestamp Sender Recipients MessageSubject

  • Calendar events issue Outlook for Mac: Failure to update or send notification for meetigns

We are seeing an issues with Outlook for Mac 2011 and calendar events. These events are in the past and Outlook will randomly post errors about the event stating that it has failed to make changes, please contact the original creator.
Additionally, some users are reporting that Outlook will not successfully send meeting cancellation notices to Windows users. All of the server and directory settings are setup correctly. Is there an issue with Outlook for Mac successfully sending
back to the Exchange server here? We're running Exchange server 2007 SP1 and in the midst of upgrading to 2013. Hopefully this and a host of other issues are resolved with 2013.
    Thanks.

  • BB BOLD 9700 sync issues with Outlook for MAC

    Hi Support,
I hope that you can help me?  I have been having issues with my BB calendar not being able to sync with my Outlook for MAC calendar.  I am using BB OS 6.0, Blackberry Desktop software 2.2.0 and Mac OS X version 10.7.2.
I have been able toget around the calendars not syncing but this morning I added iCal to iCloud, stupid move as it erased my entire calendar.
i was wondering if someone could help me restore my Outlook calendar and have my BB and calendar sync properly.
    Please Help!!!

Hello and welcome to the BlackBerry Support Community Forums.
The BlackBerry Desktop Software needs a local calendar for sync. It does not support the iCloud.
You will need to create a new local calendar in your iCal to continue synchronizing with the Desktop Software.
As for restoring your Outlook calendar, you will need to talk to Apple for assistance.

  • Outlook for Mac e-mail import issues

Ok -- I have tried everything and I can't seem to figure this out.  I exported my old e-mail from outlook for windows 2010 into a pst file and then imported that into outlook for mac 2011.  The folders come in but the e-mails themselves are not there.   I am fairly confident the messages are there somewhere in the back background as it took 15 minutes or so to import the whole file.  I tried only importing 1 small folder and it imported in a few seconds so I am pretty confident they are there I just can't see them.  Has anyone else had this problem and can offer any help?

There is a longish way to do this.
In Outlook, Select the folder you want to move (If there are folders within the folder, you have to select each individual subfolder, as the subfolders won't copy along with the main folder, only the messages in the folder will copy). Click and drag the selected folder (ex: inbox folder) to a new folder on your desktop. I couldn't figure out a way to select all the folders, so i dragged each folder and subfolder from Outlook into the folder on the desktop. Once you're done copying all the Outlook folders, open up Mac Mail. Go to File --> import mailboxes. Then select "Files in mbox format" and click continue. Then select desktop, and the folder you dragged all of your Outlook folders into. Hit "Choose." Mac Mail will import all of these folders, and when it's finished, will tell you that they are under the folder labeled "imports" in Mac Mail, and you just have to move all your subfolders back into their main folders.
Like I said, it takes a little while longer than I would like, but it worked for me and now I have all my old mail from Outlook in Mac Mail.
Hope that helps (and that I explained right)!

  • Mavericks causing errors in Outlook for Mac

Since installing Mavericks, Outlook for Mac 2011 is having problems with pop mailboxes on three different servers.  Connection errors are being reported avey ten minutes regarding server timeouts, connection has been dropped, server not found.  Prior to install there were only sporadic messages like this, mainly with IMAP connections.  This time, IMAP connections are not causing the errors, but all my different POP servers.  Is anyone else having these problems?

Seach is based on Spotlight index. Mavericks should have re-indexed your entire drive after installing. If it's still running you might want to see if search starts working in Outlook. Otherwise you need to reindex your entire drive. This can take overnight.
You can tell if it's still in progress by simply looking at the Spotlight menu: There's a blinking dot in the middle of the magnifying glass while indexing is occurring. You can also open Activity Monitor in Applications/Utilities and type in md in the search filter. You should see mdworker32 and mdworker. The mdworker32 is the Outlook Spotlight index and mdworker is for system.
Until this process is finished, Spotlight won’t know the contents of your disks and neither will Outlook. All lists like contacts, events, notes etc. are generated by the Spotlight searches.
Rebuilding should never be done to fix issues like this. Rebuilding can result in data loss.
HOW TO RE-INDEX YOUR SPOTLIGHT CACHE FILES
    Option 1)
From the Apple menu, choose System Preferences.
    *  Click Spotlight.
    *  Make sure Messages & Chats is checked under the Search Results tab.
    *  Click the Privacy tab.
    *  Drag your drive and/or Identity to the list. Wait a couple of minutes.
    *  Remove the item you added.
    *  Spotlight will re-index the contents of the item you initially dragged to the list.
    Option 2)
In Lion/Mountain Lion, there is an additional Repair Permissions application utility hidden away. This tool is located inside boot Repair Utilities. Here's how to access it.
1 Restart and hold down the Command and R keys.
2 You will boot into the Repair Utilities screen. On top, in the Menu Bar click the Utilities item then select Terminal.
3 In the Terminal window, type resetpassword and hit Return.
4 The Password reset utility launches, but you¹re not going to reset the password. Instead, click on the icon for your Mac's hard drive at the top. From the drop-down below it, select the user account where you are having issues.
5 At the bottom of the window, you'll see an area labeled 'Reset Home Directory Permissions and ACLs'. Click the Reset button there.
The reset process takes a couple of minutes. When it¹s done, quit the programs you've opened and restart your Mac. Notice that 'Spotlight' starts re-indexing immediately.
Note: you might want to use Disk Utility to Repair Permissions and Repair Disk while booted from the Repair Drive.

  • Outlook for Mac.  All emails go to trash.

    Thank you.
I have just configured my company emails to Outlook for Mac on my MacBookPro.  It worked well,  but as of last Thursday, all of my incoming emails will go first to inbox and then immediately go to trash.  They are shown unopened in trash.
Now,  I have two accounts going to OutLook.  My hotmail account is going there with no issues.
    Thanks,
    Randall

For the second problem, as long as the email is left on the server, all other devices and webmail will download the messages with they retrieve mail. The only way to stop that is to set each device or application to delete the message from the server once read, moved from the inbox, or immediately after downloading. You can do this on some or all devices.
Example: you can set your iPhone to leave the messages on the server if you want to download them later on your computer and you can set your computer to delete the message when downloaded on it so you won't have to view them on the iPhone later. However, if your iPhone is always on and it downloads email before you download it to the computer, it will still be on your iPhone.
These settings can be done in Mail>Preferences under the Accounts Tab and advanced Tab. How you set each device depends on how you want to keep mail. Most people want to save a copy forever. If so, you need to make sure they stay on the server until they are downloaded on the device you want to keep them on. If you don't need to keep messages, then set each device to delete from the server once downloaded.
If you have an IMAP account, then things get a bit different on everything. I should have asked that first.
On you original problem, when using so many devices, things get confusing when using so many devices to access the same things. Especially with IMAP. Settings on one can change the behavior on other devices. Does the problem of your messages going to the trash happen only when you read it on the MacBook first, or is it random even when you first view it on the Mac Pro. And, if it's in the trash on the Mac Pro, is it in the trash on the iPad also?

  • Outlook for MAC 2011 on a MacBook Air

I am using Outlook for MAC 2011 on a MacBook Air. Outlook times out when I am trying to email attachment greater than 10MB. Any solution

This is not a client issue, POP accounts do NOT sync but IMAP accounts do, find out how your accounts are actually setup. If they are POP then they are not working correctly and you should consult MS support (for Outlook) or your mail provider.

  • HT3748 since upgrading to Mountain Lion, my Mac Mail no longer works well w/exchange email; so, I have had to switch back to outlook. Now, how can I use outlook for mac's calendar and contacts with icloud?

Since uprgading to Mountain Lion, my mac mail no longer works with my exchange email properly. I finally gave up and moved back to outlook for mac, but now my new issue is using outlook calendar and contacts with icloud; possible?

Sorry but I'm really not to sure what I have. I'm not good with knowing my computer model. All I know is that its a MacBook running with Leopard. I got my computer last year so I suppose its fairly new. Is there a place on my computer where I can check to see what it is (sorry to be so dumb with my own mac)
And everything else works fine. I love Safari. It's just my mail that doesn't work. Here's the message that pop up several times.
"The MobileMe IMAP server “mail.mac.com” rejected the password for user “akcastaldo”
Please re-enter your password, or cancel."
The only problem here is, even though I enter my password it doesn't do anything. It makes that message go away for about 3-5 mins. After that it pops right back up. And I can't even go into my preference and change my email password. So I don't know what to do.

  • Problem with Signature tab drop down in Outlook for Mac 2011

I am setting up Outlook 2011 on my mac and have run across a problem with the signatures that I have been unable to resolve.
I have set up 2 signatures for my two different pop accounts and thought that if I defaulted them to their appropriate account they would automatically be seen in email when I had chosen the corresponding email account. I then discovered that it was not
possible to do this in Outlook 2011 for Mac.
So I selected NONE as the defaults for my two signatures, and thought I would be able to manually add the appropriate signature to each email as I compose or reply.  BUT NO!!!! THE PROBLEM LIES BELOW:
The 2 signatures that I set up are visible in the drop down menu from the signature tab in an email, however they are greyed out and cannot be selected.  I have attempted selecting one of these signatures as the default, and whichever one
I select dutifully appears when I compose a new email, but when I click on the drop down to change the signature, both are still greyed out.
So effectively, I only have the option of one signature or none, despite being able to set up multiple signatures in my profile.
Does anyone know why this is occurring and what the solution is?
    Thanking you in advance.

    Hi,
Please remove the Signature and re-add it back to check whether the issue persists. We can follow the articles below to create signature in Outlook 2011 for Mac:
How to create signature or customize it (add picture) in Outlook for Mac 2011
    http://support2.microsoft.com/kb/2455171/en-us
Add a signature automatically to every message
    http://office.microsoft.com/en-001/mac-outlook-help/add-a-signature-automatically-to-every-message-HA102928243.aspx
If the new created Signature is still greyed out in your Outlook, please restart the Outlook client in safe mode to confirm if the issue is caused by any third-party add-ins.
If the issue persists in Outlook safe mode, I suggest you ask a question in Outlook for Mac forum for further troubleshooting:

  • I hid my folders in outlook for mac by mistake.  how do I unhide them?

I hid my folders in outlook for mac by mistake (inbox, sent, etc).  How do I unhide them?

Microsoft probably do, since they are the people who developed Outlook. Have you asked them on their support site?
Alternatively, you can create IMAP folders in your iCloud email account at iCloud.com and they will show up in Outlook when the account is refreshed.
