Outlook to GMail Folder Sync

I use Outlook 2013 and save e-mails to a storage folder I keep for each of my clients.  I set up corresponding storage folders in GMail, but now I need to keep the GMail folders up to date with the Outlook folders, so when I save an e-mail to a folder in Outlook, it shows up in the correspoding GMail folder.  is that possible?
Thank you.

Not unless you are using Google Apps for Work - in which case if you install the Google Apps Sync for Outlook connector, the answer is yes.

  • How do I sync Mail with Outlook and Gmail in browser?

I really like the Mail app in OS X, but I've noticed that it's not synced with the browser version of my email accounts, so anything I do in Mail (e.g. read an email, delete/trash it, etc) is only reflected within the app and not in my browser.
Just in case I didn't explain that properly: For example, if I read an email in Mail, and then switch to my Outlook account in Safari to check if that email has been marked as read, it would still appear as unread. If I delete and trash and email in Mac, that same email appears exactly where it used to be in Outlook, completely untouched.
This bothers me for two reasons. One, even if I were to stick with Mail and not touch my Outlook/Gmail accounts in Safari again, I still wouldn't like the idea of my inbox being all messy if I were ever to log back in. Two, Mail doesn't seem to have any options to create folders and subfolders as far as I'm aware, so my emails which are very neatly organized in Outlook are all lumped together in Mail's inbox. So even though Mail is a neat little app, I still have Outlook and Gmail bookmarked.
I'd like to know if there's a way to sync Mail with my email accounts in-browser, so that any changes I make in the app also show up when I log into my actual accounts? Maybe I'm just missing something or if this is not possible at all, please let me know. Thank you!

You have to set those accounts up as IMAP. Right now you probably have them set up as POP3 accounts.
Pop3 account are one way. You download your mail to your computer and send mail from your computer and it all stays on that particular computer. Imap stores everything on the mail providers server. Incoming and outgoing mail is always on the imap server and can be gotten on multiple devices. All sent mail is store on the server also and can be viewed from multiple devices.
With outlook that might not be possible. Not sure if individual outlook accounts can use imap. I do know that the office365 side can as that is what my company uses and some people are using macs and other email program other then ms outlook.

  • Mavericks Mail update (build 1822): constant folder syncing with Gmail IMAP

The Mail update to build 1822 seems to fix previous major problems for Gmail IMAP.  I've changed my Gmail settings (on the Gmail side) back to my original setup: "All Mail" now is turned off for display in the Mail client. That allows me to search messages and see search results in Mail that show the folder in which search result messages reside...instead of "All Mail" for every message matching the search criteria, as it showed when "All Mail" was turned on.
    Two remaining problems for me.
1 -- Regularly and frequently, Mail goes out to the Gmail IMAP server and checks every single mail folder and syncs with them. It doesn't matter that the folders haven't been changed or that I haven't sent, received, or viewed any mail...if Mail is open, it checks and syncs frequently.  Now, very few folders have new filed messages, so bandwidth use of this behavior presumable is low...but it sure is annoying. You can see it happening by choosing "Activity" under the Window menu, and watching for a while.
2 -- I can't change the display order of Gmail folders in the left-hand column of the Mail app display.  The order is fixed and it doesn't seem to follow any rule I can detect.  The folder display certainly isn't alphabetical or by date.
Suggestions or insight about these two challenges are welcome.
    Thanks!

I've got no solution on problem one (sorry for both of us), but might for problem two.
I have four IMAP accounts in mail: 2 gmail, one google hosted app, and one Corporate.  Mavericks mail (with update) constantly checks all IMAP accounts, whether gmail or not.
This contant IMAP freak out may be related to the solution I have for you on Gmail folder sorting. I've tried diabling the account  (in preferences), quitting mail, then restarting mail, and then re-enabling the account. Let mail finish its IMAP freak out, then drag the folders where you want them.  They may or may not appear to change succesfuly.  Wait a while (so Mail does the IMAP dance again), quit Mail, restart Mail. If it looks good great, if not, do the whole disable / re-enable account thing.  Sounds mental, and pretty much is, but it worked for me. I cobbled this together from hints on previous Mail version / IMAP problems.
My pet theory--which is entirely unsubstantied by any evidence whatsoever--is that Mail's local cache is not being updated properly while in use, and the flood of IMAP traffic is leaving the folder structure changes in limbo until you force changes with the quit / preference change. Whatever the cause, it seems to affect non Gmail as well (for at least me).

  • I can sync with my outlook calendar, but cannot sync with contacts or e-mail.

I can sync with my outlook calendar, but cannot sync with contacts or e-mail.  When I click on Settings>Mail, Contacts, Calendars it doesn't open and reverts to the home page.  When I try to open Mail I get an error message saying "Cannot get mail.  The user name or password for Gmail is incorrect".  If I press "settings" it reverts to home page.  I was revised to restore settings which I have now done, but the problem has not been resolved. Can anyone help?
i do have a gmail account and may have used this when I first set up itunes/ipad (I'm new to Apple).  However, I want to synchronize with my Microsoft Exchange account.

It may be a bit late for your needs, but there's a sync product for Outlook (an add-in) that will sync public and private folders/calendars.  Once you have your items in a mailbox folder, the regular ios sync will bring it to your device.  It's called Add2Outlook, it's made by DidItBetter.com Software.
It syncs private and public, mailboxes and folders in any direction.  One-way, two-way, read-only or writable.  It also works with Office 365 and hosted exchange providers, if that's your situation.  It works for calendars, contacts, tasks, email, whatever.  It can even sync to PST or between two different Exchange servers.
It installs on your workstation, not on the Exchange server.
Check it out here: Outlook Contact and Calendar Sync for Office 365

Hi, The scenario is as follows
    1. A user has wierd problem where in outlook 2013, a folder named "Junk" is created & all emails are going to that folder
    2. This Junk is not the regular "Junk E-Mail" folder & it is different.
    3. There is "Inbox" folder as well in the outlook
    4. There are no Rules in outlook
    5. I am able to delete the "Junk" folder, but again after closing & opening the outlook the folder gets automatically created.
What could be wrong here :(

    Hi,
Which type of email account are you using? Do you have the email account sync to any mobile device? If so, please check the junk email option on the mobile device. You can also try to disable the sync in the mobile device and then check the issue again.
Please let me know the result.

  • Delete [Gmail] folder in mail?

I just set up a Gmail account on my iPhone 4 and I have a folder listed [Gmail] that I do not want.  Is there a way to get rid of it?  I figured out how to get rid of all the other folders that appeared such as "Spam" and "Important" but I can not get rid of the [Gmail] folder.  Any tips?
    Thanks.
    Thom

You are seeing an intentional but strange feature of GMail...  nothing is ever deleted, and instead remains forever in All Mail.  You probably want to just hide All Mail from Mail, so that you don't have to see it and don't have all those messages syncing back to your Mac.  See Hiding GMail’s “All Mail” from Apple Mail.  There has been one change on GMail since I wrote that, though...  you no longer have to go to Labs and turn on Advanced IMAP.

  • Can Outlook 2007 Calendar Appointments sync over the Air

    Hi,
I have an Iphone 3GS and i wonder if my Outlook 2007 calendar appointments sync over the air as my e-mails do.

As Chris said, you can use MobileMe which provides other handy features as well. Gmail is a good free alternative see here for one way to import. Then see here for instructions to setup google sync on your iPhone.

  • TS1347 I want to see my calendar that is on my iphone on either Outlook or Gmail on my HP desktop

I want to see my Iphone calendar on my Outlook or Gmail on my desktop. When Opening Outlook it is not syncing, but then in iTunes it says calendar is being synced over the air???

The solution i actually use its to use google calendar on iphone calendar. So you can update it and watch that changes online (google calendar) on my pc or ipad if you configure it there too.

  • Not able to access gmail folder

    Have a new Mac Air.
As part of setup integrated with my gmail account.
gmails now come into Mac email.
    However :
    i) After some time emails in inbox are automatically transferred to Gmail Folder
ii) Gmail folder is visible but unable to access or see the content. Can just see the number of emails in the folder
    Any ideas ?

Mail.app downloads all of your emails and stores them locally. It does not access them when you click on the folder.
If you have a lot of emails, it may take a good deal of time to initially sync them. I would let Mail.app run in the background for a day or two so that it has time to sync.
If that doesn't work, I would try deleting the Gmail account in settings and re-creating it.

  • Outlook creates extra folder called "Junk" in Mailbox.

    Hi all,
I have a user with Samsung Galaxy S4. Email is setup on his phone and Outlook. Extra folder called "Junk" is created in the mailbox automatically and some new emails get forwarded to that folder automatically. No Outlook rules set. Even if I move
emails from that new Junk folder to the Inbox, those emails get back to this new Junk folder. Its not a System folder as I have an option to delete it. This folder is accessible even in Webmail.
If I switch off the phone, new emails get to Inbox as expected but with the phone being switched on, some emails get forwarded to this new Junk folder (Emails in this new Junk folder do not have the option of "Not Junk". If I delete the email account
from the phone (Samsung Galaxy S4) and add it again, another folder called "Junk" is created again. This new folder is created under Inbox as a subfolder. If I move all the current emails from this new Junk folder to Inbox, then move this new Junk
folder from under Inbox to Deleted Items folder, those emails I had moved to Inbox just a moment ago will come back to this Junk folder. Emails know where that folder has been moved. So more I delete and re-add email account on the phone, more Junk folder
is created ie. re-adding 3 times will create 3 extra Junk folder. No Outlook rules are set. Outlook 2010 on the computer. Any suggestions, please advise.
    Thanks.

it seems that the user managed to accidentally create a rule on his Samsung S4 that moved everything originating from our primary domain to "Junk". I checked that, email software on the Samsung S4 had a junk mail rule to junk all email received
from domain.com. I've removed the rule and turned Exchange Active sync back on, and the user's emails appear to be staying put now.

  • Outlook 2011 inbox not syncing to IMAP account

This issue started about a week ago. If I ignore all the known issues with Outlook 2011 since moving to Mountain Lion, I would say Outlook has been running fine until last week. I have taken a look at Microsofts website but did not find any issue close to mine. I decided to try a mac forum first in case this is a ML issue with Outlook, rather than just an Outlook issue. Because my skeptism of Microsoft, it probably is an issue with Microsoft 2011 and they probably don't want to bother fixing it.
    Here's the issue:
My work email is set up in Outlook 2011 version 14.2.5 using IMAP. I go through my day as usual reading emails, responding to them, and filing them away in folders (on the server). I can go through 100 emails in my inbox to only 10 by the end of the day. The rest have been deleted, or filed away. I am able to receive and send emails with no errors. However, once I leave work and view my emails online or on another program (such as MacMail), I see those 100 emails in my inbox with only half of them read and another half unread. I see no pattern to it. (The most recent email in a conversation is read but several earlier ones are not). The strangest part: All those emails I filed away in folders on the server or deleted are in those folders AND in my inbox. Therefore, if I refile the emails, read them or delete them I will have dupllicate emails.  Same thing goes if I repair the folder in Outlook. It takes all those emails in  my Inbox online and puts them back in my Inbox on the server.
If I make any changes in Mail (On a different computer that is on Snow Leapord) or on the web, I just sync the folder and it shows the changes in Outlook.
Essentially this is the syncing issue:
Other programs --> Server --> Outlook = OK
    Server --> Outlook = OK
Outlook -x-> Server = NOT SYNCING
I'd like to reitterate that this started last Tuesday (Nov 20).  Our IT can't figure it out.

    Hi Meghan,
You are right saying that it is not syncing or does slowely and it is not done by the time you switch off your Outlook.
You can run some manual tests by pressing CTRL + Click on a folder in your Outlook 2011 and Sync this Folder
    Then check the webmail.
Also you may want to check this in Outlook 2011:
    1)  Tools > Run Schedule > Edit Schedules
    2)  Assuming you already have a scheduled "Send/Receive All" occurring every few minutes - double-click the appropriate Schedule item.
    3)  In the Edit Schedule window, in the Action area to the right of the Receive Mail action, click the Account Options button.
    4)  Put a check next to every folder and in the Synchronization Setting column make sure it is set to New Messages.  If you choose Headers Only, the folders will not auto-sync.
No idea why it stopped working but usually it coincides with OS updates or MS Office updates on Mac.
Post back if you get anywhere with this.

  • Outlook Iphone Google Contacts Sync

I would like to sync my contacts to Outlook the same way I currently use Nuevasync. I am happy to try another service to get this going. Currently nuevasync sync's my google, iphone and outlook calender.. Looking at it though I can only push sync my iPhone and Google contacts... the current system will not sync with my local Outlook.
I am trialing the Apple .ME service but have no need for the online storage space or other features.. Ideas anyone?

  • Outlook 2011 no longer syncing with iCal and contacts

I have installed Yosemite recently on my Macbook Pro. I run MS Outlook 2011 for professional reasons. Until now, syncing with my Android phone worked (almost) fine, using a nice app called SyncMate. For a few days now (not sure it is linked to installing Yosemite though) new data on my outlook calendar and address book no longer appear on my phone after syncing. After checking I realized that Outlook is actually not syncing any more with iCal and Contacts, so of course the syncing with the phone cannot work. How can I resolve this ?

facing the same problem, it was syncing prior to my upgrade to Lion. have you managed to find a solution?

  • Folder Sync and System Back Up, please help !!!

Right, there are the two things I can do with my Windows XP machines and can't find a valid solution on Mac OS X yet:
    1. Folder Sync
I use 5 computers everyday, 2xMacs+1PCs at home, 1xMac at school and 1xPC in my office (part-time sys admin). It is obvious that i will need the folder sync feature so that I can keep working on one project on different computers. For windows there's a very neat feature called Briefcase, it bascially allows me to create two folders in different locations ( one in PC1, one memory stick for example ) and will automatically make sure these two folders sync with each other once connected . Just wondering if there's any software that allow me to do this on a Mac? and if it allow multiple sync (i.e. keep folders stored in 3+ locations up to date with each other, via network or portable storage device) that'll be even better.
    2. Backup.
Since WInNT microsoft provides a Backup facility that allows me to perform regular backups of the entire system. except for the first backup which will copy my entire partition / harddrive content, the later ones will only add changed/newly created files to the existing backups (to save space and speed up the process). Carbon Disk Copy etc are merely GHOST-like utilities in Windows terms and does not have any advance features nor do they provide supports to exterenal hard drives (USB2, say). So, is there a good back up utility that I can use for my Mac OS X. ( i don't want to burn my 100G hard drive on 50 dvds every week )
    thanks.
MacBook Pro 2.16 with All upgrades; PowerBook 17" 1.5G   Mac OS X (10.4.6)

    1. You want rsync - will sync as many sources as you want.
    2. Rsync again will do this.

How do I remove an empty gmail folder from my iPad2?

I Think that you had a corrupt email or an email with a really large attachment in that folder and it is now causing the mail app to crash. When the app closes and goes back to the home screen, that is an app crashing. I would try to delete this folder on the server. Log into your Gmail in a web browser and try to delete it there. If you delete it there, that will delete it on the iPad.
