Output to RTF File format

I have a report which generates a RTF output in which first and last page are PORTRAIT, all other pages in LANDSCAPE. The problem I am facing is it generates the RTF output but all pages are shown in PORTRAIT. If I open this document and go to each section/page and define in the page setup layout, it prints/looks as per format but if I dont do this it does not print/look good. Is there any setting that I am missing from Windows Word perspective or anything from Reports persepective?
Any pointers would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks in advance
Ajith

Ajith,
If you haven't done already, please set the oroentation per section in the reports definition and then run to RTF

  • Statement of Accounts Output to PDF file format and email to customers

    Hi,
Would appreciate inputs from contributors on the issues/requirements below.
I have two requirements regarding the output of Customer Statement Of Accounts (form):
    1. The output is to be in Adobe PDF file format;
    2. The file has to be emailed automatically to customers based on the email address maintained in the Customer Master;
I envisage that the program would be executed online (on demand) or in the background via scheduled jobs. Due to complexity of the customer's requirements, we will be using a customized program to generate the form.
I am not familiar with both requirements. Would appreciate contribution on how to set up the above.

    Hello,
In FIBF transaction code, you can configure the same
    SAMPLE_PROCESS_00002840
If you do not think this is not suffice your requirement, you can take help from ABAPer and create you own function module.
Refer SAP Note. 836169 how payment advice is being emailed.
It will emailed in PDF format.
Once you run F.27 the entries should flow to SOST.

  • Not able to save report output in a text file and RTF file

I am using Oracle Developer6.0 . I am facing problem with reports. I am invoking reports from form using run_product.
    1. I could not able to save the report in text file . Whenever i try to save the report output in a text file.It gives dump and application get closed.
    2. In RTF format , it execute the query which i have given at the design time while creating a report . But while running i am passing query either through lexical parameter or passing value of where criteria user parameters. It display the output for the specified value. But when i save this report output in rtf file . It execute design time query and save that in a rtf file.
If any body is having any idea about it . Please let me ASAP . It is very urgent for me.
    Thanks in advance

    Try the following:
Do not generate the report to .rep file, but rename/copy the .rdf file to .rep file and execute it.

  • Output report data to excel file format or csv format

Is there any way to save softcopy of report output to excel file format or csv format.

    Hi,
Regarding csv file format, i have no issues. The file is generating without any issues in using oracle reports without using any PL/SQL code.
My requirement is to design oracle reports to generate excel (.xls) file with multiple worksheets. Each sheets are having many data and graphs(chart).
Using oracle reports alone, how to achieve this.
In oracle reports 10g 1.2.0 version, I tried by creating .rdf file but, it is generating single worksheet only.
In oracle reports 10g 1.2.0 ver, I tried by creating .jsp file. For this first i am creating excel template about how my ouput column headings all that going to be with one sample hard coded data and save the excel file as web page.
    Eg employee.html.
Next open the html file in oracle reports builder and double click the websource now, you will see the jsp tags, html and xml tags. Now include the contentType="application/vnd.ms-excel " and charset also.
    Next, include the <rw:foreach id="G_EMPNO_1" src="G_EMPNO">
here insert the fieldl for each column by removing the hard coded values.
    close the tag
    </rw:foreach>
Save the file as .jsp and deploy it in oc4 enabled folder (say, devsuite_home/reports/j2ee/reports_ids/web
    Start the oc4J server
Run it in the browser http://server:port/reports/emp.jsp?useride=uid/pwd@db
It is invoking the Microsoft excel with 3 sheets default and my emp table output in the first page.
We can save this output file as .xls file by clicking file -> save as.
    1) The question is, it is working fine with Microsoft excel 97-2003 version. But for excel 2007, i am not able to create single html file like how 2003 save web page option.
    2) I found this in oracle getting started demo
    http://www.oracle.com/technology/products/reports/htdocs/getstart/demonstrations/index.html
Which is more useful. This is what i am looking for.
I done that in excel 2003 as per demo. But excel 2007 with reports 10g issues.
Is there any demo for 10g with excel 2007
    3) For most of excel issues working fine with excel 2003 and 10g. But excel 2007 with 10g reports are issues.
I want the excel output from oracle reports with multiple worksheet similar to the above demo.
    Thank you.

  • BO 4.0 save as csv file format issue

    Hi All,
We are using BO 4.0 Webi for reporting on SAP BW 7.3 system. Some of our reports have to be scheduled to bring the output in CSV file format. When I schedule the report in CSV format, the final output has data in two sets. The first set has the list of columns which I have selected in my report. Starting on the next row I get to see the second set of data with all the objects selected in the query panel including the detail objects.
We only need the data for the columns which is selected in the report, but it is bringing the dump from all the objects in the dataprovider.
Can anyone tell me how to get rid of the second set of data in the same csv file ?
    Thanks,
    Prasad

    Hi,
CSV format is reserved for 'data only' dataprovider dumps. it exports the entire webi microcube (query results)
You don't get that option when going 'save as' - which preserves the report formatting - in which case you should consider .xls

  • HELP! - RTF Report format

    Reports 6i Database: 7.3.4
    Hi,
I have a report that I am trying to generate to a RTF file format so that I can open the report in WORD. When I open the report in WORD it is the whole report, but I can't seem to see the whole report because it is in PAGE LAYOUT FORMAT with only shows the 1st column (the report has 3 columns). I do see the Header of the report and part of the Footer of the Report. How do I can I show the whole report in Normal view. Any suggestions?

Try to enlarge the page size in Word page setup.

  • How to open Report output in RTF format using concurrent request form.

    Hi
I have created a report using BI publisher and RTF format. This report is working fine in PDF format. User can submit report using consurrent request form and can see report preview in PDF format.
Now user wants to submit another request and wants to see report output in RTF format.
User submitted a request, request successfully completed and generated a output RTF file in unix box but when user wants to see report output using concurrent request form (View Output) then window is showing raw data instead of RTF output.
Can any body tell me about solutions?
    Thanks
    Ravi

    Hi Ravi
I did little R&D on it and found following 2 solutions.I am sure that you also find something but for my shake i am putting it here.If you already find the solution then ignore it.
    I) 1st Solution
1)Change the profiles 'Viewer: Application for Text' and put value as 'Browser'
    2) Change the profiles 'Viewer: Text' and put value as 'Browser'.Either change it system level or concerned user.
    3) Log out from Current session and close all internet explorer application.
    4) Log in again to check the result
    II) 2nd Solution
    1) Navigate to: Sys admin --> Install -> Viewer Options to open the Form "Viewer Options".
Do the entry as shown below:
    File_Format     Mime Type               Description
    RTF          application/rtf Microsoft Word(.rtf)
    RTF          application/msword          Microsoft Word(.rtf)
    2) Then ensure that the profile option Viewer: Application for Text is set to BLANK at the Site Level and User Level.
    3) Then ensure that the profile option Viewer: Text is set to 'browser' at the Site Level.
-- It will pop-up the screen to choose application name from above two values.
Hope this will work it for you. For me i replicated the scenario and both solutions were working for me.
    With Best Regards

  • Unable to View output in .rtf format

    Hi guys,
I am new to BI publisher.
I want to view the output in .rtf format
When click on view output I am getting an error "Unable to find the published output for this request" and then "No output file exists for request xxxxxxxx"
Do we need to apply any patch on the applications side in order to resolve this
I am able the output in .pdf format on the serverside
I am unable to view it in .rft or excel format
    Any suggestions

Is the issue with XML/PDF concurrent requests or with all requests?
Can you find any errors in Apache/Database log files?
Is the application listener up and running? Can you find any errors in the listener log file?
Have you tried to run AutoConfig and bounce the services and see if this helps?
    Thanks,

I am generating a report output to a RTF file.
The report is output in landscape orientation in Reports Runtime
    window.
But when I open the RTF document, the output is in
Portrait orientation and some of the information is getting out
of the view. If I manually change the orientation in the RTF
Page Setup, I am able to view the output properly.
Can this be automated by using some property/setup in Oracle
    Reports 3.0?
Also, the BMPs are not visible in the RTF file.
Can anyone help me on these issues?

    Hi Aravind,
I don’t think there is any help in HTMLDB for this. There is this technical note: http://www.oracle.com/technology/pub/notes/technote_htmldb_fop.html I don’t really like this approach.
You should consider using XML Publisher. It’s a “new” Oracle product that is easy to use and really works! Actually it’s an Oracle Application product that is now standalone. It’s much faster to use than making the xslt manually. You can make the templates in Word. We have a project where we don’t make any templates. The customers make their own on each site.
There of cause is a licensing issue. Depending on you setup it can be expensive.
    Check:
    http://www.oracle.com/technology/products/applications/publishing/index.html
    BI Publisher
You can download it from Oracle eDelivery:
    http://edelivery.oracle.com/EPD/Download/get_form?egroup_part_number=B23145-01
Product Pack Oracle Application Server Products
Platform: Any (e.g. Window 32 Bit)
The part number is B23145-01: "Oracle® XML Publisher CD/Media Pack".
This includes the client and server side code + documentation and sample templates and applications.

  • Changing the file format of spool output when scheduling a background job.

    Hello Experts,
I have an issue. It is related to Spool output format. I created a job for one report program for which the output is a list output. I have added one recipient in the 'Spool list recipient' while creating the job SM36. After the job is finished the spool output is sent to the recipient mail id as .htm format as an attachment. But the attachment should be excel sheet or text file. No coding in the program should be used to convert the file format. Only settings in the spool while creating job should be manipulated. Please help me in solving this issue.
    Regards.

    Hi Sunil,
You can use the logic for converting spool to PDF using program : RSTXPDFT4 . Alternatively you can use FM: CONVERT_ABAPSPOOLJOB_2_PDF . In this FM you need to pass the Spool id .
u can make use of these FM's SO_DOCUMENT_SEND_API1
    SO_NEW_DOCUMENT_SEND_API1

  • Adhoc Query- problem with the output file format

    Hi Gurus,
I have a problem in exporting the output of an adhoc query to Excel format.
The menu option I chose to export the report data into Excel is List>Export>Spreadsheet.
However,I think I've just pressed the wrong option to export my report and now I can't seem to change it from a HTML file option.
Can anybody help me correct this output setting.
    Points assured for apt help...

    Hi Sushil,
There are two ways to save the output in the excel format.
As you have mentioned, you can use
    List -> Export-> Spreadsheet.
Then select table. Now the output will open in a spreadsheet.
    The other way is
    List -> Export-> Local File
Here you need to select the option spreadsheet. Then mention the path where you want the file to be stored. Also mention the format as .xls
    Hope this helps
    Regards,
    Brinda
