Output was not according to requirment?

Hi to All,
I am facing a confused situation and i am unable to recognized the error where is that.
Can any body help where i m going wrong in following Code?

Write a function called
smallerSquares that returns an array of the squares that are less
than its argument. For example, smallerSquares(66) returns the array {1, 4, 9, 16, 25, 36, 49,
64}. For this problem, the smallest square number is considered to be 1.
If you are programming in Java or C#, the function signature is int[ ] smallerSquares(int n)
If you are programming in C or C++, the function signature is int *smallerSquares(int n)
The array that is returned must be dynamically allocated in the function and should be
exactly the size of the number of lesser squares unless you are programming C or C++ in
which case its length must be one larger than the number of lesser squares and its last
element should be 0. You will not receive credit for your answer if you do not dynamically
allocate the array! The syntax for allocating an array in Java and C# is
int[] a = new int[n];
and in C and C++ you can use
int * a = (int *)calloc(n+1, sizeof(int));

actually there is not a error in code. I think the error is in logic.

Error:--     at here the array a[] have not show a correct output. It shows blank and just one digit.
