Overwrite and Delta options in Input schedules

Hi,
We are planning to use 'Park and Go' feature of BPC and save some input schedule to our local machine. We will send these files to our endusers for offline planning. Endusers are not connected to BPC server. They dont have client installed on their machine. They will do offline planning and forward the input schedules to Planning coordinator. Planning coordinator will open these files in BPC and send those values to BPC server. In some cases, he has to add those values from input schedules to the existing data in server. In some cases, he has to overwrite the existing data with new data. He also needs Delta update option. These features are available for uploads using data manager. But are these options available during data sends using input schedules? Please suggest.
thanks/regards,
Lokesh Nandula

Thanks Joost.
We are thinking of some alternatives to meet this requirement. We are planning to copy the offline plan data to a new version (Category) using data sends through Input schedules. We will use data manager package to copy these values from the new version to our original version. In data manager, we have the option to either add or overwirte the data. We can also automate this activity. Can you please suggest if this could be a perfect solution for our scenario.

  • Difference between input schedule and Journal?

Hi all, we need a brief explanation of Journals vs regular Input Schedules.
Can an expert explain to me the differences between a Journal Entry and just a regular Input schedule?
1.For journal entries are you only supposed to enter the change or the total for that account?
    2. Where are journal entries stored?
    3. Can journal entries be viewed latter and/or reversed?
    4. Do Journal entries get put into the audit tables?
    Thanks

    Hi Dermot,
I think you're right that this is a significant difference between the two. I believe journals operate just as you expect - they are an "additional" amount.
So if you already have $100 in an account and you put in a journal for $20, then the system will do the logic to make that account value $120 behind the scenes. If you input $20 into an input schedule the system will make that account value $20, not $120.

  • To open a BPC excel input schedule through a Business Process Flow

    Hi,
I have a Business Process Flow that has to open an excel input schedule.
In the define actions tab of a Process step, I have chosen the BPC for excel interface and open template option.
I browsed the necessary template to be opened.I have also provided the required inputs for member selection.
Now when I open the Business Process Flow and Select this Process step, it opens only the BPC for excel interface and not the excel input schedule template.
Can anyone expalin the reason that caused this problem and also a solution to fix this issue ?
PS :I am trying to open this Business Process Flow using BPC Web and my BPC for excel is not open yet.
    Thanks in Advance

    Hello Aparna,
Please select Application name in BPF.
Please check for Application name in which you are opening the template.
    Thanks,

  • Init and delta uploads using process chain

    Hi,
I have a scenario where for the first upload i use init upload for that i have an infopackage now for the subsequent uploads i.e delta upload i get the option for the same only once i have run the init upload.
so the doubt is can i use a process chain defined to carry out the whole task?????
    Regards

    Hi Virat,
AS init is a one time activity, so what you can do is.
1> set the init in infopack and run the process chain.
2> remove the infopack and then include a new infopack with delta option or change the existing infopack to delta option.
    3> schedule the infopack.
whatever you are expecting is not possible.
    Hope I answered your question.
    THanks and Regards,

  • Launch specific BPC Excel Report/Input Schedule or BPF from Infoview

    Hi all,
We would like to launch either a specific BPC for Excel report and/or input schedule, or link to a specific BPF from BOBJ Infoview (probably a Webi report).
Therefore is it possible to provide a url to Webi to do this?
    This is BPC NW 7.5
    Many thanks,
    Andy

    Hi you all,
we are dealing with the same problem in our project. Our customer is implementing BPC and wants the Excel input schedules to be launched from the same place where their current BI (BO) reports are stored. That's InfoView, or actually soon BI Launchpad 4.0.
Is it anyhow possible to launch a normal BPC Excel input schedule directly from InfoView/BI Launchpad? I tested a bit with OsCLD function with a published Input schedule, and using the link OsCLD returns as Launchpad hyperlink, it's possible to open the .xls file in Launchpad browser window. Of course, none of the BPC's own structures or functions are there so it's just a plain excel sheet, not an really input schedule... so I guess BPC for Excel must be running when opening them and that pretty much is the same as using them directly from the Excel UI. But it's not the solution the customer wants to use.
Their reason for using Launchpad is that they control user access to their current reporting with the InfoView folder structure and want to use the existing authorization this way for BPC planning too.
    Any suggestions?
    BR,
    Andy

  • Performance testing of Input schedule and report

    Hi All,
We are checking the time taken for a template to expand and refresh,
In a scenario, a report with 18000 rows expanded in 80 seconds,
But in BW backend system it shows,
    SQE Query read: 5 seconds
It means remaining 75 seconds are required for front end, Is it possible to split up this time like where it takes more time.
    Thanks & Regards,
    Ramanathan

Please check whether your input schedule with formating or not?

  • Copy / move input schedules and reports to a team folder

    Hi,
Is there a way to take a group of input schedules / reports that are currently saved in one team folder and copy them to another in one go or do I have to do it one by one, i.e. individually?
    Thanks,
    Arnold

    P.S.
    1) Log in to BW -> UJFS -> go to desired folder -> right click -> Download it.
    2) Right click on where you want move - > Right click ->  Upload  it

  • CRL and delta CRL generation schedule not fixed (CS 2008 R2 and CS 2003 R2)

CRL and delta CRL is generated daily at the same time in test environment (sometimes offset may be about 1 minute).
Delta CRL generation statistics (effective date) in production environment :
    2014.07.12 23:01
    2014.07.14 00:00
    2014.07.15 00:43
    2014.07.16 01:22
    2014.07.17 01:59
    2014.07.18 03:10
    2014.07.19 03:48
One can see that delta CRL generation time is constantly shifting and it's not the same as time period when delta CRL is being generated. Delta CRL validyti is 1 day, so it should be generated each day at the same time. CRL size is about 10MB, delta CRL
size is about 0,5 MB. Delta CRL generation time is about 1,5 H.
Question: is it possible to fix CRL and delta CRL generation time (make it constant), using standard ADCS tools/settings? Role separation is used in solution, therefore it's not safe to run daily task (with CA administrator's permissions)
to force publishing time in CA registry (if it's possible at all?), or similar "workoround.

Hi, Vivian! Sorry for delay - I was dealing with another urgent issue, but now it's time to return to this issue.
Vadims, thank you for information. I saw this article
http://blogs.technet.com/b/pki/archive/2008/06/05/how-effectivedate-thisupdate-nextupdate-and-nextcrlpublish-are-calculated.aspx, but it not answers all the questions.
Following links in article referred in your post, I found latest version of article moved to TechNet:
    http://social.technet.microsoft.com/wiki/contents/articles/20652.how-thisupdate-nextupdate-and-nextcrlpublish-are-calculated.aspx
That article provides more detailed explanation, but there are still some questions. Below is schedule of delta CRL publishing on production and test servers which are using absolutely identical CA settings, including but not limited to CRLPeriod, CRLOverlapPeriod,
    CRLDeltaPeriod, CRLDeltaOverlapPeriod, ClockSkewMinutes.
But production server has more certificates and publishing of delta CRL requires more time (about 1,5-2h). As result, CRL and delta CRL publishing time constantly shifting approx. by 1h (this timeframe is not equal to delta CRL generation time), but CRL
and delta CRL on test server are generated almost at the same time (see more info below).
Therefore, one can assume that something is missing in publishing time calculation formulas, provided in the articles mentioned above.

my iphone 5s got stolen and the option to erase data after 10 tries was not enabled. What happens after the incorrect password is input after 10 times?

After the sixth erroneous passcode entry a delay is imposed that increases exponentially and eventually reaches over 40 years before another attempt can be made.
No one yet knows how long the next delay is.

  • EvDRE - Input Schedule

    Hi all,
    Please help!
    Material Dimension:

    MAT004     MAT004     MATERIAL1     Entity1000
    MAT005     MAT005     MATERIAL1     Entity1000
    1. In my input schedule, I have expansion on Material Dimension and have set the Memberset to =u201DEntity=u201D&E1000u201Du201D. As I have materials in my dimension belonging to other Entities as well, I have a property defined in my Material dimension called ENTITY.
But I need to give a gap between the two Materials. Ex: So I need to declare two row key ranges and use BAS(MATERIAL)|BAS(MATERIAL1).
But how can I set BAS(MATERIAL)|BAS(MATERIAL1)  AND =u201DEntity=u201D&E1000u201Du201D in the same memberset?
    2.     When an authorized person belonging to E2000 logins to the same report through BPF, he should be able to see only Material2 and its childu2026 Similar to the above reportu2026 How can I achieve this?
    Please help..
    Thanks

    Bharath, how are you?
I've the following sugestions to your questions:
    1) There are two options. a) Use overwrite option to Entity members and create and specific input schedule to each entity member, or b) create an member acess profile for each entity member to associate them with material
    2) In this case, the best pratice is use member access profile.
    Hope it helps you,

  • Decimal places in standard input schedule templates

    Hi Gurus
I have created some input schedules using standard template. User here will be entering some values in 2 decimal places (like 1.25) but when I enter any values in the cells, it automatically round off the values and displays values without any decimal places.
I have tried changing the formats in Format control panel by changing the DATA / DEFAULT 's PATTERN / ALL for ROWs but it did not help.
Please help how to resolve this.
    Cheers

  • Retrieve data from a report or database to an input schedule in BPC for exc

    Hi,
    I am using BPC for excel ( v 5.1).
I've created an Input Schedule(Input-1) using BPC for excel and sent data to the dB.
I need this (Input-1) data to use it in a new Input Schedule(Input-2), for further manipulation.
I need this data to be dumped in a sheet for further calculations in (Input-2).
How can i bring this data?
I created an input schedule(Input-2) and tried building an evdre in an excel macro to get it as a report of the 1st Input. But i was unsuccessful. I faced an error "ERR: Invaled KeyRange Header".
Am i thinking in the correct way? Do we 've any other options to retrieve this data?
    Need your help to proceed....
(Pretty soon, the environment is going to be with version 7.0)

The macro i use to run when my workbook opens is as follows:
    Private Sub Workbook_Open()
        ActiveWorkbook.Sheets.Add
        Sheets(Sheets.Count).Name = "Dump_Sheet"
        Sheets("Dump_Sheet").Range("a1") = "Application1"
        Sheets("Dump_Sheet").Range("a2") = "=EvDRE($A$1,A14:B20)"
        Application.Run ("MNU_eANALYZE_REFRESH")
    End Sub
Also I 've tried this too:
    Private Sub Workbook_Open()
        ActiveWorkbook.Sheets.Add
        Sheets(Sheets.Count).Name = "Dump_Sheet"
        Sheets("Dump_Sheet").Range("a1") = "=EvDRE(""Application1"",A14:B20)"
        Application.Run ("MNU_eANALYZE_REFRESH")
    End Sub
Both of these gave me the same error code :
    #ERR : Invalid KeyRange Header

  • Correct Data is not shown while opening Input Schedule

    Hi
I am facing this issue almost in every template i create
After saving data in a particular template in an input schedule, i reopen the template from the dynamic templates library(etools -> open dynamic template)
But the data saved previously does not appear, instead it shows the values saved when the template was originally saved.
How to get the data newly saved data on opening the template automatically ?
List of options i have tried>
Have refresh on workbook open checked (etools - workbook options) - does not work
Have expand on workbook open checked - (works, but takes too much time to load the workbook, need not expand as the row & col expansions are quite static and only data refresh is required)
Have tried "MNU_EANALYZE_REFRESH" macro on workbook - does not seem to work fine (although when i click on the refresh buttton on the opened workbook/sheet , new data is being fetched correctly.
Have tried "MNU_ESUBMIT_REFRESH" (but this is not the right macro) as it gives a pop up on workbook open.
Any possible solution to the same will be greatly helpful
Has this been solved in any of the SAP 's Support pack versions... Im on SP03.
    -Sridhar

    Hi Sridhar,
You are absolutely right. Refresh on workbook open does not work as expected. The only workaround is to select expand on workbook open.
You can try another thing. you can right a macro which will run the refresh menu command when the excel is opened. and this macro will be available only to this workbook.
    Hope this helps.
    // Recent Addtion
    You can use the command
    Private Sub Workbook_Open()
    Call MyMacro
    End Sub
u201CMyMacrou201D is the name of YOUR macro. Call your macro which will refresh the workbook.
    Hope this will help.

  • BPC Input Schedule: DELETE button erase background color

    Hi,
Can anyone help on the following problem:
I have an input schedule (either with nested rows or simple) and BPC by default marks all changed cells with red color. But when [DEL] button key is pressed in a cell all other marked cells on the same row loses their red color and became white again. It's undesirable behavior.
I've searched the forum and internet but nowhere this topic arise, maybe i'm doing something wrong. The one idea is to write a VBA macros which automatically recognize modified cells and then restores their previous backgrounds. Is there another solution?
    Thank you!
    Ivan

    Hi,
When you create a report/input schedule using standard formating option system will generate with [multiple format|http://help.sap.com/saphelp_bpc75_nw/helpdata/en/87/2e5940a305405f957eb987daf30d5b/content.htm] .When you change the value it will turn to Red beacuse it defined under format range with criteria CHANGED and format with Red color. But system will not recognise DELETE as change. That is why if you want to delete a specific value you should make that value as 0 then only system will consider that as change other wise system would prompt you a message "There is no data to refresh".
I think you have to write your own macro if you really want to use DELETE function, instead of zerorise the values.
    hope it helps...

  • How can BPC display the property in report input schedule

When create a property, if the InApp is check, we can use the property in the MDX Query, however what is the best way to display the property in report and input schedule?
Although we can use the EvPRO function, but according the definition of EvPRO
"The EvPRO (Property value) function returns the value of a specified property for a specified member."
for example =EVPRO("Finance","Sales","Currency") will returns USD, if the currency value for the member Sales is U.S. dollars., if I have a property group for account dimension, how could I display the value of group for all the account number?

    Hi
you just use EVPRO like you mentioned:
    =EVPRO(Finance,$D20,group)
In the cell $D20 your account number is displayed. You copy this function down for each account.
-> just create an input schedule or report from a template, open the configuration panel. There you see this principle used for property High Level, Calc, ...
    D
this method is perfect but you need to add the formula each time.
I would prefer to use the formula using the after or before range in expansion options of evdre which would make it dynamic and you need not copy paste the formula to derive the property each time.
    Cheers
    Thanks and Regards
