• Wage type Creation Problem ( No values selected )

Hi,
I have a problem creating wagetype. when i go to transaction OH11, when i click on the dropdown list ORIGINAL WAGETYPE, it gives me the following error : "No values selected Maintain entries?"
Since a wage type cannot be created from scratch and should be copied from original wagetypes, I am blocked. Could you please tell me what is the problem.
Than you.

Hi,
Whichever country wage types you required, Create the wage type in the table of V_512W_T, in this table copy the any one wage type or directly you can create the new wage types with the new entries tab.
If you create the new wage types then you need to maintain the all PC and CC and EC in the table of V_512W_D.
Otherwise copy the wage type from the existing wage type, then no need to maintain the all PC, Cc, Ec.
Good luck

• Problem in HR Custom Info Type Creation

Hi,
Created custom info type from PM01...
Activated... This is working fine in the System and Client where I created.
But its not working from other client..?
I am getting error by saying that Info Type is not created... All the Structure and PAXXXX table got activated in both Clients.
Earlier we faced same problem, at that time our team made some changes to info type and probelm resolved.
I don't know where and what exactly we need to do...
But,
One of the problem I identified is,
We are not getting T591A, T591S tables at Subtype Tab, Subtype text tab in INFOTYPE CHARACTERSTICS.
I can enter these two from TECHNICAL ATTRIBUTES... but when I generate all aobjects from PM01, these two values getting deleted from INFOTYPE CHARACTERSTICS.
(Above may be the reason)
Please let me know if any solution for this.
Thanks,

Hi Gautham,
I deleted previous one, Created as your blog says. Still same problem.
Venkat,
Yes, you are correct. We need to release the Customizing request which contains Subtype , Subtype Text Tables with Info Type Entries.

TROUBLE SHOOTING PROBLEM ON SQL*NET, NET8.X, AND NET SERVICES
(GENERATING TRACE FILE OF SQL*NET, NET8.X, AND NET SERVICES)
==========================================================
PURPOSE
Explanation
Oracle Networking
Solution Description
a. prompt$ echo $TNS_ADMIN
b. $TNS_ADMIN이 설정되어 있으면, prompt$ cd $TNS_ADMIN
아니면, prompt$ cd $ORACLE_HOME/network/admin
c. vi sqlnet.ora
# 다음 line들을 추가
TRACE_LEVEL_client=16
TRACE_FILE_client=<filename>
TRACE_DIRECTORY_client=<directory>
TRACE_UNIQUE_client=TRUE
:wq
prompt$
prompt> notepad sqlnet.ora
TRACE_LEVEL_client=16
TRACE_FILE_client=client
TRACE_DIRECTORY_client=D:\temp
TRACE_UNIQUE_client=TRUE
prompt>
prompt> dir D:\temp
client_<PID1>.trc ...
client_<PID2>.trc ...
prompt>
g. trace를 중단합니다.
prompt$ vi sqlnet.ora
TRACE_LEVEL_client=0
:wq
prompt$
prompt$ cd <directory of TRACE_DIRECTORY_client>
prompt$ trcasst <filename of TRACE_FILE_client>_<PID>.trc > trcasst.out
prompt$ vi -R trcasst.out
i. oerr command로 tns error에 대한 error message를 봅니다.
prompt$ oerr tns 12541
prompt$ oerr tns 12560
prompt$ oerr tns 511
Web browser에서:
1) Go to http://metalink.oracle.com, then login
오른쪽 위 HTML frame에서 :
2) "Advanced" Button
4) "Search" button
3rd party
prompt$ vi sqlnet.ora
TNSPING_TRACE_LEVEL=16
TNSPING_TRACE_DIRECTORY=<directory>
:wq
prompt$ tnsping <tns alias>
prompt$ vi listener.ora
TRACE_LEVEL_<listener name>=16
TRACE_FILE_<listener name>=<filename>
TRACE_DIRECTORY_<listener name>=<directory>
:wq
prompt$ lsnrctl stop <listener name>
prompt$ lsnrctl start <listener name>
Web browser에서:
1) Go to http://metalink.oracle.com, then login
Certification Matrix

Oracle Support Services

• Problem with SQL object type extend

Hi,
i have a severe problem when i try to extend an SQL object type (that derive from an XMLSchema registration) with standard SQL operations. After update when i look the updated record with SQL (XMLDATA.*) then i find the new items. But when i load same XML as file from XML repository via FTP or WebDAV protocol i don't find the new items in that.
Would anyone please help?
Thanks in advance

Hi Syed Emad,
Could you please try to post a simple reproduce project in here?

• SQL Net Problem

I am trying to connect from an Oracle client 9i-V1 to an Oracle server 8i-V3 over the internet and through MS ISA Firwall , tnsping is working correctly and returing latency as between 250 and 330 M/Second.
When trying to connect using SQL+ I get ORA-12535 despite that I have adjusted the CONNECT_TIMEOUT on the listener and reloaded it , I have adjusted the parameter to 0 but still getting the error.
We are running Oracle Apps 11i from the same location using the same internet line and its working at a remarkable speed , also all the required ports are opened and secured on the firewall.
Could you advise something.

These two waits in your statspack report:
SQL*Net more data from dblink
SQL*Net message from dblink
refer to a database link. (A connection between this database and another database.)
http://download-east.oracle.com/docs/cd/B19306_01/server.102/b14237/waitevents003.htm#sthref4564
It looks like a lot if the time during that snapshot was consumed waiting for data over the database link.
It looks like that would be the place to look for improvements.
The SQL*Net more data to client wait was only a tiny percentage.

• Problem in Wage Type Creation

Dear Gurus,
I am going to configure wage types in IDES ECC6. I want to configure Wage Types for Infotype 0014 for Recurring Payments & Deductions. When I configure these wage types, it does not appear in infotype 0014 instead it appears in infotype 0015. I use country grouping 99 and select Recurring Payments and Deductions in SPRO. When I check the wage types in infotype 0014, there only appears CM01,CM02, CM03. Such type of problem has never occured in production servers. Please advise me what is the cause of missing wage type in infotype 0014.
Best Regards.
Ali

Brother I just opened the table VV_52D7_B_0014_AL0 and then created a wage type again with description of your name (Sikandar"
Now the wage type appears in info14. Thanks for your kind guidance and hope for the same in my future issues.

• Process wait SQL*Net message from dblink /SQL*Net message from client

Hi There,
We have an ETL process that we kindly need your help with. The process been running since Sun, where it transfers the data from one server (via remote query). The process was running ok till last night where it appeared
to have stopped working and/or the session is just idling doing nothing.
Here are some tests that we did to figure out what's going on:
1. when looking at the session IO, we noticed that it's not changing:
etl_user@datap> select sess_io.sid,
2         sess_io.block_gets,
3         sess_io.consistent_gets,
4         sess_io.physical_reads,

SQLNET.INBOUND_CONNECT_TIMEOUT = 6000
listener.ora:
INBOUND_CONNECT_TIMEOUT_LISTENER = 6000What else can we do and/or further investigate to work out the root cause of the problem, and may be help resolve this. We don't want to just stop and start the process again as it took few days already. We have
had a chat to the infrastructure team and they've assured us that there have been no network outages.
Also, the alert logs for both instances (local and remote) shows no errors what so ever!
Your input is highly appreciated.

• Sql net trace file

Hi All,
Our prod db is 2 nodes RAC 10g in MS window 2003 servers. It is located in a remote place. Recently one of our local app servers lost connection to this db although we can tnsping it but got ORA3113 error when we tried to logon using sql plus. Most of our local PCs did not have problem logon at all. We enabled the sql net trace on this app server and network administrators spent a lot of time on this and finally shutdown one of the app servers in the same remote location which seemed cause a lot of network traffic with a local app server. So the problem went away and the app server can logon to the db now. I (I know nothing about network) tried to read the sql net trace file generated during the trouble time using the help outlined in the “Examining Oracle Net Trace Files” written by Kevin Reardon. The error happened after client sending server character set and conversion graph it supports and before receiving character set and conversion graph from the server. It took a minute in this step and finally gave up. Following is a section of the trace file where error happens. My question is: even we know when the error happens and at what step how can we use this info to further identify the root cause: Is this because we have too much network traffic which caused timeout or other reason(s)? By the way our db servers have “INBOUND_CONNECT_TIMEOUT=180" (3 minutes) in the sqlnet.ora file and whole trace file starts at [06-NOV-2009 14:50:23:352] and ends at [06-NOV-2009 14:51:24:758] which is a little over 1 minute. Greatly appreciate your insights and thoughts.
Shirley

Bonjour,

Antoine,
We have had a similar problem (we use Oracle 8 and L.2 - also M.2). The
solution
our Forté consultant came up with was to define the data as 'Long Raw'
instead of
BLOB.
Hope this helps,

• SQL*Net and Datapump export disconnects with ORA-03113 error

Hi,
I have some trouble with an Oracle 11.2.0.1.0 server installation on a Windows 2008 R2 server.
If I am connected with SQL*Plus on the database server to an instance it randomly disconnects me, but no longer than after 30-60 seconds even though I am active running simple select queries.
I can connect again without any error and soon it disconnects me again.
If I am running an expdp, datapump export it starts but displays error UDE-03113 and then ORA-03113. The datapump export continues in the background and finish successfully though.
When having a look at the Alert.log for the database instance I see this error everytime it happens:
Fatal NI connect error 12547, connecting to:

I don't believe it is an network problem as each command I am running is on the server console. No other errors in the OS event log so I need some help where to start...
Thanks in advance!
Best Regards

Thanks, no windows firewall turned on, I turned on SQL*Net tracing and this is the last part of the trc file after doing a simple select query on a table with 3 rows. After the select query has been runned I am disconnected... Any idea, help is really appreciated!

• I-net oranxo driver problem. cannot connect

Hi, im new to the j2ee programming communitty and i was trying to use the i-net type 4 driver to connect to an oracle database. The service name of the oracle database is orcl. i know that the host is the local host, and im pretty sure that the port number is 1521. i dont think i changed it. unfortunately i dont know how to change it. if you could tell me a way to change it once i have already installed it, i would appreciate it.
my code for this problem is
import java.sql.*;
public class testDB{
public static void main(String args[])
new testDB();
testDB()
try{
Connection con = DriverManager.getConnection("jdbc:inetora:localhost:1521:orcl", "scott", "tiger" );
new com.inet.ora.OraDriver();
CallableStatement cstmt = con.prepareCall("{call procone(?,?,?)}");
cstmt.setInt(1,6619211);
cstmt.setString(2,"Java");
cstmt.setInt(3,22);
cstmt.execute();
con.close();
}catch(Exception x){
System.out.println("exception: "+x);
the error its giving me is the following
com.inet.ora.ORA3SQLException: [OraDriver] Connection Refused:Connect
Anyone know why theres a problem. im sorry i know its probably a dumb question but i cant figure this out.

re: Oracle database and listener:
Oracle does not do things in a simple way. I'll explain things using Oracle's terminology (which I didn't use earlier).
To Oracle, the collection of data-storage (files or devices) that actually has the data is the "database", without regard to any program code or running process.
To Oracle, the memory structures and process (or threads on some OSes) normally used to access a database is called an "instance". (In casual speech, most people call the "instance" the "database"; usually the distinction doesn't matter).
You can have a database without an instance (the program isn't running), an instance without a database (the database hasn't been created or you're using a special Oracle feature called ASM), or you can have multiple instances for one database (an Oracle RAC cluster).
You cannot connect directly to an Oracle instance via a TCP/IP connection (which is normally what a JDBC driver will use, although there are other ways). Instead, Oracle has another program, called the "listener" that brokers connection requests; your program talks to the listener on port 1521 and the listener arranges for your program and the database to connect. The database might actually be on another computer but almost never is, except with RAC clusters or failover configurations. So the listener has to be running for most JDBC programs to work.
SQL*Plus can connect to a database instance via TCP/IP, which requires the listener; however, SQL*Plus can also connect to a database instance that is on the same computer via inter-process communication, which does not require the listener. Stopping the listener process and connecting via SQL*Plus is a common way of putting a database into "maintenance mode", where only the database administrator can make changes to the DB.
The standard Oracle installation will install everything and set up the listener and have it autostart on boot and everything else needed. However, people sometimes disable things they think they don't need, so it's not unheard of for people to turn off the listener becaus they think they don't need it. Or sometimes there's an error and the listener fails to start...
