Package control...

Wouldn't it be great if there was a command or program that would scan through all the installed packages on your system and create a nice, tree view including structure of dependencies. The program could use the information from /var/lib/pacman/local to create this package tree.
I know that it's possible to navigate through these directories manually but it's time consuming and chaotic.

Bingo
It's written in pyGTK/glade and it handles recursive dependencies. Just take a look at this thread please:
http://bbs.archlinux.org/viewtopic.php? … pacman+gui
there's a link to the author's page and you can download gpacsearch there.
It looks awesome, just what i needed.
Edit: It's almost what i needed;)
This program shows only dependencies so far. Would it be hard to implement %REQUIREDBY% section to the packagage information window????

• Video Control Bar in Flash Displays on HD but Not From Webserver

I am using Flash Pro 8 - putting FLV files in SWF files using
Flash Pro 8 and then "publishing" to Html and SWF to a location on
my hard drive.
When I display the webpage from my Hard Drive from where ever
on my hard drive I initially published to from Flash 8 Pro -
everything works fine - videos play and video control bar shows and
works.
When I publish this website to web server the video displays
and plays but NO Video Controller Bar (at bottom of the video)
shows at all.
Symptom: when I make an Html, SWF and FLA file into a folder
on my hard drive and display them in the browser the video control
bar shows. When I copy those three files into the hard drive
website in FrontPage, the video shows but the video control bar
does not.
So, I re-made the Html, SWF, and FLA files and put them
directly into the FrontPage website (on my hard drive) then
everything works fine when I use broswer (IE 6 or Firefox). z
But, when I publish the hard drive website to the remote
website hosting company, the video control bar disappears -
everything else works fine (video shows OK just no video controller
bar.)
My guess is that the SWF file has a non-relative URL
reference concerning the video control bar and when the three files
(Html, SWF and FLA) are moved to new location then that
non-relative address rears its head.
I should NOT publish from Flash 8 Pro directly to remote
webserver as it has FrontPage Extensions and does not like to talk
to FTP changes to website not coming from FrontPage client.
is my guess right? What to do?????

perfectly however when I use Dreamweaver to insert the .swf it does
not carry over the control bar. I have tried pulling over the
control bar .swf and placing it under the video file but a HUGE
object is imported with a bunch of controls that do not work (bunch

make sure the component skin is uploaded in same directory as

• 2012: Execute Package Task (external reference) Very Slow in SSDT

Hi All,
I have 4 packages which I've deployed using the package deployment model to the MSDB package store.
Configuration setup is System Env Var pointing at SSIS Configurations table that populates the connection string of my SSISConfig data source. Source/Dest configurations are in the SSIS Configuration table.
I have a 'master' package that executes the 4 packages in parallel using the Execute Package control flow task (external reference, SSIS Package Store)
When I execute this master package in SSDT it takes 1minute 56 seconds to finish. All the execute package tasks seem to hang until the last few sec then finish one after the other. It's the same if execute one of the Execute Package Task items individually.
It just hangs there for nearly 2 min then rushes through its work (i've verified by looking at the destination tables; nothing happens until the end).
But the packages executed directly in ssdt take 2-3 sec to execute.
I've deployed the master package to the server and executed it via SSMS. It takes <3 sec.
I've RDPed into the ssis box and it's the same. Executing the packages individually or the master package in dtexecui takes less than 3 sec.
Something's going wrong inside SSDT (some kind of timeout? but there are no error msgs or warning) that's making it take nearly 2 minutes.
Have others experienced this? Have I misconfigured something? The env var has been working on my local machine since last week and i've restarted many times since then, so I'm positive SSDT is using the 'current' version of the env var.
Jakub @ Adelaide, Australia

Very strange. The sysssislogs are the same for any method of execution, but there's a 5 sec delay for each step when executing via SSDT

Look at the times. It's going up in exact 5sec increments! The package takes about 3 sec to run when the master package is executed via dtexecUI outside SSDT. The log looks "normal" in those instances as well; the end times are more randomised
This is with SP1 CU8 installed.

• Calling Service Control from Page Flow

In Workshop for Weblogic Platform v10.0, we have a web service control in a page flow.
Although the web service call succeeds (as evidenced by a TcpMon monitor), the control method always returns null.
I'm guessing that although the call looks synchronous, it's actually behaving asynchronously - returning immediately with null.
Is this perhaps related to the particulars of calling controls from a Page Flow environment? Is it a bug in v10 of Workshop (Eclipse-based?
Thanks for any ideas!

ps: Here's the control interface and using class:
package controls;

Strange -- the PageFlowJspFilter adds no-cache headers to the response, so
if you're forwarding to a JSP from the action, then the browser shouldn't be
caching the result. What's in the URL bar in the case where your request is
getting cached?

Ok. I dug deeper into the issue and now my problem is that although theaction

• RAC failover with HP-Serviceguard package over listener

We have two nodes (lcsnew1 and lcsnew3) on which RAC is installed. We are using HP-Serviceguard and HP-SGeRAC in the co-existence model, where RAC derives cluster membership information from SG and SGeRAC.
We are using the dedicated server model, where each node has one listener. We have configured HP-SG packages over RAC listener so as to provide failover capability. The HP-SG packages monitor database listener and on node failure or listener failure, the package moves to the other node and attaches itself with the listener running on the adoptive node. So, the basic setup is
Initially:
lcsnew1 lcsnew3
pkg4 pkg5
On listener / node failure at lcsnew1:
lcsnew1 lcsnew3
Not Available pkg4, pkg5
On listener / node failure at lcsnew3:
lcsnew1 lcsnew3
pkg4, pkg5 Not Available
We want to connect to any of the pkg IP Address, and if it failsover to another node, the connectivity should still be maintained.
I have a small Test programme which uses JDBC connectivity (thin) to connect at pkg4 virtual IP Address. It is able to get a connection and run some queries in a loop on the same connection. Then pkg4 is moved from lcsnew1 to lcsnew3 (at this time the test programme is in sleep mode). On the same old connection, we expect the query to run successfully. But the behaviour we are observing is random. Sometimes, the test programme remains connected to pkg4 IP address even after failover, while sometimes it gives ConnectionError. However, on again connecting to pkg4 IP address (which by now is in adoptive node lcsnew3), it works. So, basically fresh connections always work but the old connections do not failover every time.
I am enclosing all the configuration files for RAC (listener.ora, tnsnames.ora) and package configuration files (config, control). Also, the hosts file is enclosed which gives the details of all names and IP addresses. The test programme is also enclosed.
Pls have a look and suggest what how to move forward.

Why do you want to use the HP-serviceguard even when you are using RAC on 10g Rel 2.
Oracle itself provide facility of TAF and now in 10g the concept of Vip.
all this functionality will be available by using TAF.

• !!!! Urgent Database Control Not working, Plz help !!!!!

Hi,
I have a webservice and in the same server(weblogic 9.2) a data source(cgAppSource) is configured. the database control is not instanciating properly, it is always remains null despite the calling of webservice. I am getting NullPointerException in the webservice. First time I am using annotation to execute a SQL query. It is urgent.can anyone please help me. what code change I have to do in both the files.
SampleDatabaseControl.java -
package control;
import java.sql.SQLException;

Hi james,
In that link it says to 'Create a Beehive-enabled Server Domain' in which On the second page(named Select Domain Source), I need to place a check in the Apache Beehive checkbox . But in my machine when I follow the steps I dont find any such checkbox in the (named Select Domain Source) page. Is this the problem? I can see only two check boxes. The page looks like......
Generate a domain configured automatically to support the following product. // radio select
Weblogic Server (Required) //check box
Workshop for Weblogic Platform // check box
Base this domain on an existing domain. //radio select
Templatelocation .... // a browse option
Do I need to do some other configuration to make beehive check box active in the page? All the beehive jars are present in the instalation. And as far as I remember I did the full instalation of Weblogic 9.2 after downloading from the bea site. and I am giving the beehive related jar

beehive-controls.jar,beehive-jdbc-control.jar,weblogic-jdbc-control.jar in the lib folder wnder WEB-INF and deploying.

• [SOLVED] After pacman update, system no longer boots

Updated pacman packages, and half-way through the upgrade proces fails (it mentions not being able to find package-control). Upon investigating, I notice no programs are working. I ls /usr/bin and it is empty! In a panic, I restart the machine, and it no longer boots up.
My boot is on sda3 and /root is sda5.
When bash starts up, it loads the kernel fine, and then after a second it panics and exclaims: "No init found. Try passing init=bootarg".
I load up my trusty Arch livecd and fsck the partitions. Fsck claims both partitions are clean. I am able to mount them and examine the file structure: all files look like they are there. I then try to chroot the mounted partition (sda5, my /root), and get the error that "/bin/bash" is not found, even though it is there in the correct directory. Not sure what to do now.
My grub entry, which has always worked fine prior to this:
legacy_kernel '/linux344-ck' 'acpi_osi=Linux' 'root=/dev/sda5' 'rootfstype=ext4' 'init=/sbin/init' 'pcie_aspm=force' 'acpi_backlight=vendor' 'i915.i915_enable_rc6=1' 'i915.i915_enable_fbc=1' 'i915.lvds_downclock=1' 'ipv6.disable=1' 'i915.semaphores=1' 'modprobe.blacklist=bluetooth,uvcvideo' 'ro'
legacy_initrd '/initramfs-linux-fallback.img' '/initramfs-linux-fallback.img'
UPDATE: solved issue. I didn't read the news. Upgrading via pacman broke my system because of this. Now I know! System is running smooth again.

Huh. I guess the problem was a couple of stale and crusty {,f}getty .service files, and an obsolete slim.service file I created a while back.
Removing them fixed my problem, although tty1 still shows boot messages (not a problem, and may not even be "new" behaviour)

• Importing video to a folder or HD

Sorry if this is kinda simple. I've been trying to figure out how to download video to a file before I import in into IMovie. I would like to use the same clips in several projects. Currently I can only load the clips into IMovie from my camera and then I am unable to "find" the clips again once the are in the project. Is there a way to do this?
Thanks

Welcome to the forum!
iMovie HD project cannot "share" a single media file, e.g. a file that contains a video clip. The file must be imported separately to each project. (That does NOT requiring importing to each from the camera. See below.)
All the media files of a project -- pictures, video and audio files -- are stored inside the iMovie HD project itself. Although the project looks and acts like a file, it's actually a special kind of folder called a "package".
To peek inside the package, Control-click on the package icon and choose "Show Package Contents" from the popUp menu that appears. The media files you have imported are stored inside the Media folder.
(You'll find other interesting things in the package too, including special QuickTime movies -- called reference movies -- that play the project timeline. They don't contain video or audio data of their, just pointers to the files in the Media folder.)
Don't change anything inside the package. This is territory controlled by iMovie and iMovie expects to find everything exactly as it left it. Renaming files or folders, for example, is verbotten.
It's a snap to copy a media file from one project to another, and it doesn't require digging around inside the package. One way is to Copy the clip in Project A and Paste it into Project B. Another is to drag the clip from Project A to Project B.
Note that copying a clip copies the entire source file of the clip. To avoid iMovie copying that source file more than one time when copying multiple clips, copy all the clips that share the same source file together. (Or simpler, Copy and Paste ALL the clips you want at the same time. Then iMovie sorts out which files to copy.)

• Problem with Beansbinding as separated class

Hello,
I used beansbinding together with a JTextfield and usually it works, which means that if I do it like the following;
/// the class that I use implements a binding listener
binding = Bindings.createAutoBinding(AutoBinding.UpdateStrategy.READ_WRITE,                        // two-way binding
systemDaten , //source and backing bean
BeanProperty.create("debeyeHueckelkonstanteA") ,          //name of field
debeyeHueckelkonstanteA, // name of jtextfield as swing source
textProperty,                                                     //Property textProperty = BeanProperty.create("text");
"debeyeHueckelkonstanteA" );                             // Name
binding.setConverter(null);
binding.setValidator(null);
binding.addBindingListener(this); /// this = because the class that I use implements a binding listener
binding.bind();
//if I use instead of binding.addBindingListener(this) the following version with an anonym class, it works as well:
binding.addBindingListener(new BindingListener() {
@Override
public void bindingBecameBound(Binding binding) {
@Override
public void bindingBecameUnbound(Binding binding) {
@Override
public void syncFailed(Binding binding, SyncFailure failure) {
@Override
public void synced(Binding binding) {
@Override
public void sourceChanged(Binding binding, PropertyStateEvent event) {
@Override
public void targetChanged(Binding binding, PropertyStateEvent event) {
} );if I use this form using a customized class and a constructor with the data (double number) to be represented :
binding.addBindingListener(new SystemBindingListener(systemDaten.getMesstemperatur()) )with a class implementing the listener as below it doesn't work.
public class SystemBindingListener implements BindingListener {
private double value = 0.0;
public SystemBindingListener(double value) {
super();
this.setValue(value);
private final PropertyChangeSupport propertyChangeSupport =
new PropertyChangeSupport(this);
public void addPropertyChangeListener(PropertyChangeListener l) {
propertyChangeSupport.addPropertyChangeListener(l);
public void removePropertyChangeListener(PropertyChangeListener l) {
propertyChangeSupport.removePropertyChangeListener(l);
@Override
public void bindingBecameBound(Binding binding) {
System.out.println("bound ok " + binding.getName());  }
@Override
public void bindingBecameUnbound(Binding binding) {
System.out.println("unbound ok " + binding.getName());  }
@Override
public void syncFailed(Binding binding, SyncFailure failure) {
System.out.println("sync not ok " + binding.getName());  }
@Override
public void synced(Binding binding) {
this.setValue(value);
System.out.println("sync ok " + binding.getName() + this.getValue()); }
@Override
public void sourceChanged(Binding binding, PropertyStateEvent event) {
System.out.println("source ok " + binding.getName());    }
@Override
public void targetChanged(Binding binding, PropertyStateEvent event) {
System.out.println("target ok " + binding.getName()); }
public double getValue(){
return value;
public void setValue(double value){
final double old = this.value;
this.value = value;
propertyChangeSupport.firePropertyChange(
"value", // the name of the property
old, // the old value
value // the new value
this.value = value;
}The problem is that I wanted to "outsource" the BindingListener but change its output depending on the source modified on the GUI.
I have several textfields and I want to be sure that whenever one of them gets modified the value is modified in the backing bean
and this should be visible by the System.out.println(this.getValue()) output.
I added Property Support but this didn't help. As you can see I want a Read-Write Binding which works as described in the first two examples.
But with a externalized class binding doesn't work.
Does anyone know how to do this.
Thanks for help

Hello,
I am not sure if it is as short as you want to, but anyway there cannot be less classes than that, because I need each of them and any further reduction
would falsify the situation given.
Also there are only some lines which are determining size, location - and especially Layout - etc which I left nearly as they are.
Before using the given function addComponent() I had big problems to get a proper GUI Layout so I changed not to much concerning the layout (I didn't want to take the risk that nothing appears at all (or not at the right place) as I experienced many times before).
Anyway, it is much less than the 10 classes (or the 30 original classes) I had before. So here is the code:
package controls;
import java.awt.BorderLayout;
import java.awt.Component;
import java.awt.Dimension;
import java.awt.FlowLayout;
import java.awt.GridBagConstraints;

}Due to your questions I guess to know why it there is no binding between the Listener-Instance and the Swing-Compound but
I don't see how to get all three classes working together.
I mean: If I want to have a binding between the value variable in the BindingListener and the SwingCompound I need to create such a binding in the panel-Class.
But I only created a binding with the field in systemDaten because this is the bean I want to work with.
It seems that I didn't understand how it is managed that the value is changing in the bean and the swingcompound simultaneously - after creating and adding the
BindingListener-Instance.
In the two other cases there is still a communication between the Listener and the swingCompound but in the given case there is not.
I was not aware of this problem before and I am still not sure to fully understand why it works in the other cases.
Do I need to give the binding variable or swing compound to the BindingListener to keep communication ?
Thanks for your help

• Can't open Pages 09 document

Like many others on this post, I also cannot open a very important Pages 09 document built using mainly blank pages and a couple of standard Page Layout Templates.
It is 80 pages of colour photos with captions, totalling 1.7 GB. I saved everything successfully and kept it on my EHD, but now I can't open it, even when copied back to my laptop. The message simply says it can't be opened, with no indication why.
If I used too much capacity, why does the system not warn me?
I can see the document through the ".pages Info" Preview thumbnail section, and can click through each page. However, although the document is set to "Open with: Pages.app" when I double-click on the preview, I get the same "can't open" message.
Can anyone help please?

Sounds as a corrupted file.
Two tracks:
(1) if the document is stored as a flatfile,
rename it as xxx.pages.zip.

• Deluge and KDE - displaying incorrectly for one user only

My deluge (and possibly other gtk apps) are being displayed incorrectly in KDE. You can see the screenshot attached, but the thing I mostly notice is the progress bar. On my laptop, as well as any other user account on the PC in question, it's a very blue progress bar (so 100% torrents will be all blue, 0% no blue, and obviously in between as % increases). In the past I've messed with various gtk/kde rendering apps (so that gtk apps will display "correctly" in KDE), but I don't currently have any installed. I also have rm'ed the configs in question per the wiki ( https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/Un … plications ). I have tried removing the deluge config for my current user and it still doesn't "fix" the issue. I've gone through kde system settings to setting all display options to default-type options (which is what my laptop is set to).
Just wondering if anyone had any thoughts on where I could look to fix this? It's mostly an annoyance, but I've been trying to fix it for a while now so thought I'd finally ask for some help.
EDIT: I realize this should be in the Desktop/Apps sections, so if a mod could move it for me, that would be much appreciated.

1. You said the projects were all saved "to a shared folder." Do you mean THE Shared folder? Your Mac's Users folder should list two Users, plus a folder named "Shared". Is that the folder you mean?
2. The trouble is that an iMovie project isn't actually a file. It's a special kind of folder called a package, which contains other files and folders. (To look inside the package, Control-Click on the package icon and choose "Show Package Contents" from the popUp menu.)
3. When YOU are the user and you create a new iMovie project, the package and everything it contains is configured with you as the owner. You are the designated owner of all the items that comprise the project. No one else can Write to the project.
4. To change that, you have to change the project package into a normal Finder folder, adjust its permissions and the permissions of all the contents of that folder, then change it back into an iMovie package.
Here's how:
In the Finder, choose Finder > Preferences. Click Advanced and turn ON "Show all file extensions".
The name of your iMovie project "My Sample Project" is now displayed as "My Sample Project.iMovieProject" in the Finder.
Remove ".iMovieProject" from the project name, removing the period. When the Finder asks, say OK.
The project package has now turned into a folder. Select the folder and choose Get Info.
Set Others permissions to "Read & Write". Then click "Apply to enclosed items". When the Finder asks, say OK.
Select the folder name again and add the extension ".iMovieProject" to the name. The folder will change back to an iMovie package.
The package will now allow anyone to Read and Write to the project.
Karl
PS: This solution isn't very handy, obviously, but it does the job. A better solution is to buy an external hard drive, and configure it to Ignore permissions. (In the Get Info window for the disk.) That lets both users save projects to the drive without permission issues.

• Can I use the same media clips for multiple movies?

What I'd like to do is import about 15 - 20 hours of camcorder footage, and use that to cut several different iMovies. These are home movies that cover about 5 years, so I'd like to make a Halloween movie using just the halloween clips, and then make a christmas movie, and a birthday movie, etc.
Is there a way to do this without having every separate iMovie import its own clips? Or in other words can I have all of my imported media sharing by multiple iMovies? Any suggestions?
Thanks,
Anthony

Welcome to the forum, Anthony.
It's a good question, with no easy answers. Every few weeks someone asks a similar question here. They plan to import many hours of video into iMovie, then build multiple projects from that video. Some have already imported the video and are trying to deal with a huge, unmanageable project.
iMovie isn't designed to share Media files -- the video files iMovie HD imports to the Media folder of the project package. (To look inside the package, Control-click on the package icon and choose "Show Package Contents" from the popUp menu.) Rather, iMovie HD requires each project has its own Media files.
iMovie HD is a non-destructive editing environment, which means the entire Media file supporting a clip "sticks" to the clip -- the entire file. The file is never shortened. The file is discarded by iMovie only if you discard every clip associated with that file. In other words, stuff tends to stick around. And the stuff of 15-20 hours of video is large enough to fill a huge hard drive. So we're talking lots of stuff x 2 or 3 here, which is a lot of stuff.
As you import the video, iMovie HD creates a new Media file at each scene break. Some of those files can be very large -- 12 GB if the hour has no breaks -- so before long your multiple projects are consuming huge amounts of disk space. Although you can Copy and Paste clips between projects, doing so duplicates the entire source file of the clip. So a 20 second clip that's part of a 4 GB Media file that you Copy from Project A to Project B now consumes an ADDITIONAL 4 GB of disk space in Project B.
When projects reach huge, many users give up in frustration. They've invested lots of time accumulating the video, but they have so much stuff they don't know what to do with it. And sometimes the project size causes iMovie to choke.
Everything is a lot easier if you plan ahead. Plan WAY ahead. Consider importing just the video you need for each of the (small) projects. Finish one project at a time, then move on to the next one.
The trick is to view all the video before you begin, and make an index of what video you want to keep, what you want to discard, and what video goes in each (small) project. Use the timecode of your camera to log the location(s) in your index. (If you're using iMovie to view the video in the camera, you might want to take screen captures.)
When you are done making the index, you are ready to build the Halloween project. Import the Halloween chunks from all the tapes to a Halloween project, edit it, and burn it to a DVD, export it back to a new "Halloween" camcorder tape, or do whatever you want with it.
Don't miss that if you import all the Halloween clips to a project, you can export that project back to a new tape in the camcorder. The clips will (usually) retain their clip-ness, so when you re-import that tape to a project the clips will come back as discrete clips. Tapes can be useful place to store clips temporarily, or as permanent vault organized by topic.
Good luck with your project. It'll be fun, but it's going to take a while. Relax, take your time, and enjoy it.

We get the following error: "The project could not be opened, because the disk is full, the folder is locked, or the folder permission are incorrect." We can both open projects #3-5.
I have checked the permissions settings on all 5 projects. All are same, Read and Write priveleges for both of us. Anybody seen this before? Am I missing something?

PS: This solution isn't very handy, obviously, but it does the job. A better solution is to buy an external hard drive, and configure it to Ignore permissions. (In the Get Info window for the disk.) That lets both users save projects to the drive without permission issues.

• Problem overloading "set data" function on Button DataGrid Renderer

Hi all, I'm hoping this is something simple.
I have a class that extends mx.controls.Button and implements mx.core.IDataRenderer. I need to set the button icon whenever the Data property is set from the DataGrid. My problem is that my overloaded set/get Data function are never called (I've stepped through the code in debug). Instead the set/get functions in Container.as (Flex 3.4 SDK) get called.
Here's the basics code:
exportButtonRenderer.as
package controls
import flash.events.Event;
import flash.events.MouseEvent;
import mx.controls.Button;
import mx.core.IDataRenderer;
import mx.controls.dataGridClasses.DataGridListData;
import mx.controls.listClasses.BaseListData;
import mx.events.FlexEvent;
import mx.controls.Alert;
import model.descriptors.compDescriptor;
import events.exportClickedEvent;
public class exportButtonRenderer extends Button implements IDataRenderer
//    embed your icons
[Embed(source='/assets/icons/export.png')]
[Bindable]
public static var imageExport:Class;
[Embed(source='/assets/icons/blank.png')]
[Bindable]
public static var imageBlank:Class;
public function exportButtonRenderer()
super();
private var _listData:DataGridListData;
override public function get listData():BaseListData
return _listData;
override public function set listData(value:BaseListData):void
_listData = DataGridListData(value);
private var _data:Object;
override public function get data():Object
return _data;
override public function set data(value:Object):void
_data = value;
override protected function clickHandler(event:MouseEvent):void
super.clickHandler(event);
Now I know I'm using the Flexlib TreeGrid and not a standard DataGrid but when I trace through all the code all code firing the set/get functions is coming from the DataGrid anyway.
Here's the my Grid def in my main app mxml:
Header 1
<flexlib:TreeGrid
id="MKTXGrid"
dragEnabled="false" sortableColumns="false" showRoot="false"
disclosureClosedIcon="@Embed(source='/assets/icons/arrow_right.png')"
disclosureOpenIcon="@Embed(source='/assets/icons/arrow_down.png')"
folderOpenIcon="@Embed(source='/assets/icons/psd.png')"
folderClosedIcon="@Embed(source='/assets/icons/psd.png')"
click="MKTXGrid_clickHandler(event)"
doubleClickEnabled="true" doubleClick="MKTXGrid_doubleClickHandler(event)" left="0" right="0" top="0" bottom="16">
<flexlib:columns>
<flexlib:TreeGridColumn dataField="Name" headerText = "Name" minWidth="200" width="200" editable="true"/>
<mx:DataGridColumn dataField="ExportName" headerText = "Export Name"/>
<mx:DataGridColumn dataField="Export" headerText = "Export" width="50" minWidth="20" resizable="false">
<mx:itemRenderer>
<mx:Component>
<mx:Box horizontalAlign="center" width="100%" verticalScrollPolicy="off" horizontalScrollPolicy="off">
<controls:exportButtonRenderer label="Export" icon="@Embed(source='assets/icons/export.png')" width="12" height="12" useHandCursor="true">
<controls:click>

import events.exportClickedEvent;
var e:exportClickedEvent = new exportClickedEvent();
e.itemData = data;
dispatchEvent(e);

</controls:click>
</controls:exportButtonRenderer>
</mx:Box>
</mx:Component>
</mx:itemRenderer>
</mx:DataGridColumn>
</flexlib:columns>
</flexlib:TreeGrid>
Nothing too special going on.
I know this can be done, I've seen examples in the SDK:
http://opensource.adobe.com/svn/opensource/durango/trunk/ExternalFlexTools/com/dougmccune/ containers/accordionClasses/AccordionHeader.as
By the way I've stepped through the code of the TreeGridItemRenderer class in Flexlib which works correctly and the class def starts like this:
TreeGridItemRenderer.as
import flash.display.DisplayObject;
import flash.display.InteractiveObject;
import flash.display.Shape;
import flash.display.Sprite;
import flash.events.Event;
import flash.events.MouseEvent;
import flash.geom.Point;
import flash.geom.Rectangle;
import flexlib.controls.TreeGrid;
import mx.controls.Image;
import mx.controls.dataGridClasses.DataGridListData;
import mx.controls.listClasses.BaseListData;
import mx.controls.listClasses.IDropInListItemRenderer;
import mx.controls.listClasses.IListItemRenderer;
import mx.core.IDataRenderer;
import mx.core.IFlexDisplayObject;
import mx.core.IToolTip;
import mx.core.SpriteAsset;
import mx.core.UIComponent;
import mx.core.UITextField;
import mx.events.FlexEvent;
import mx.events.ToolTipEvent;
import mx.events.TreeEvent;
import mx.managers.ILayoutManagerClient;
import mx.styles.IStyleClient;
public class TreeGridItemRenderer extends UIComponent
implements IDataRenderer,
IDropInListItemRenderer,
ILayoutManagerClient,
IListItemRenderer
Any help would be great!

That's because you put your component in a Box. The DataGrid is setting the Box's .data property and no code is setting the one on your component. You shouldn't really need Box. You can override updateDisplayList to center your Button instead.
