Packet filter problem on BM 3.8

I have BM 3.8 on OES NetWare. After I installed I realized the public NIC
was bad and replaced it. I found the filters were set to the wrong
interface, and had no exceptions set. Using FILTCFG, I changed the
interface for the filters to the new public NIC, and then had to disable
the filters because they had no exceptions. Now, I can't connect to
iManager on the BM server, and iMgr run from my main server does not show
the NBM Access Management option. What can I do short of reinstalling BM?

problem between servers until I finally thought to disable all of the

After removing TMG 2010 from a Windows 2008 R2 server, the following TMG Packet filter was left behind and the "uninstall" option is greyed out.

Anyone else solve this issue? I have this same problem now.
One of the techs here was building a second domain controller. And they didnt check to see what all was running on the Windows 2008r2 VM before they finished. I found out later after it was premoted and such. all the details I think removed forefront and
this same thing is left behind. We really only use TMG as a Proxy server so only need 1 NIC configuration. Anyway I've tried everything I know to try to get this removed but I'm having no luck.

Adaptive-Firewall (af) blacklist or blockedHosts? Packet-Filter (pf)

I have just upgraded my Mac mini Server from the latest version of OS X 10.8.5 and OS X Server 2.2.1 to OS X 10.9.3 and OS X Server 3.1.2 by turning off all server services (except Open Directory), upgrade to OS X 10.9.3 and touching up System Preferences, reboot, upgrade OS X Server 3.1.2 and run the Server app to upgrade the server's directories, files and services, and now proceeding carefully by comparing notes from my previous configuration and turning on required server services one by one.
Now the Adaptive Firewall (af) and Packet Filter (pf) perplexes me since OS X 10.8...
I have configured how to enable af on system boot-up based on information from Apple support documents. I understand that Event Monitor (emon) monitors the incoming IP connections (among its other functions) and if it detects abnormal behaviour from a particular IP connection, emon uses af to add the offending IP address to af's blacklist file.
My first question is: does af itself blocks the IP connection, or does it use pf instead to do the job?
If af uses the latter, my second question is: does af uses some internal socket/pipes to communicate with pf, or does pf uses some file from af?
Now if pf uses some file from af, it can't be the blacklist file as the pf.anchor uses the table from /var/db/af/blockedHosts file, and it seems that the blockedHosts file is perpetually an empty file and no app or process seems to touch the file since it was created.
The gist of my question is that the af and/or pf on my system seem not to be doing their job even though emon is detecting abnormal IP connections based on the log messages its been producing after following Apple support documents to enable Adaptive Firewall on my system.

Unable to Uninstall "TVT Packet Filter Miniport #4

Does anyone know the purpose of the TVT Packet Filter Miniport #4 that appears in my Device Manager list under Network adapters? The listing shows it with a yellow ! and I am unable to update the driver or uninstall it. I get the message "Failed to uninstall the device. The device may be required to boot up the computer."

This is easily fixed:
1) Go to Control Panel, Network Connections
2) For each Device listed, choose its Properties, then uncheck TVT Packet Filter, then click OK.
3) Double check making certain that you have unchecked all TVT Packet Filter for each Network Device listed.
4) Go to Control Panel, System, Device Manager.
5) Now you can Uninstall the <yellow exclamation mark> (TVT Packet Filter missing driver) under Other Devices.
6) If you followed the above steps correctly, this error should not recur.

Alv grid filter problem

Hi all,
I have a problem when filtering data in alv (I use REUSE_ALV_GRID_DISPLAY FM). The problem is that data is truncated in the matchcode of the filter.
I've seen several threads talking about this, but was not able to find the right solution for me... a lot of notes, and I think I shouldn't have to install all of them.. should I?

Bordermanager 3.8 sp5 ir packet filtering problems

On a freshly installed netware 6.5 sp6 with post fixes server, i have some problems with the packet filters i had never before.
the strange thing that happens is that when i load my filters some services configured on the private network card get blocked to. Like DHCP (does not want to bind)/NDPS manager/Groupwise poa
The rest of the traffic is going correctly thru my exceptions.
i already checked the tcpip.cfg for duplicate entry's and checked my servers configured services and ip numbers on NORM.
already tried to clear all filters and delete the filters.cfg file and run a brdcfg.

Do you mean to say like you get a dump when you enter some value in the filter field & press on enter while there is no data in the table?
If yes then give it a try in this manner. I haven't tried it out myself but its just a guess. You would have created an event handler for the FILTER event of your table. Say suppose your action handler method is ONACTIONON_FILTER then within this method you would be saying something like:
METHOD onactionon_filter .

" Within WDDOMODIFYVIEW I obtain & save the reference of my table into TABLE_CONTROL

So instead of directly calling the apply_filter method first try to obtain the data being displayed in the table by using get_static_attributes_table method. Then check if the table is initial & call the apply_filter method only if the table is having some data.

Filter problem with operating system in french

Hello,
There is a problem with the "Operating System - Windows" filter in the french version of ZCC.
If you create a bundle and go into "Requirements" and add a filter with Operating system and you set it to "Version 6.1 - Windows 7 / Windows Server 2008 R2" you get this error
"Vos modifications ne peuvent pas tre appliques pour les raisons suivantes :
ErreurLa version doit tre sous la forme "x" "x.x.x.x". "
"You changes cannot be applied for the following reason : formatting must be x to x.x.x.x"
The format should be "6.1 - Windows 7 /Windows Server 2008 R2 Versions".
The filter does work as intended with the english versions of ZCC. I have no problem with that but some of our admin does.
PS : I am currently unable to open an SR because our licence has not been renewed yet. So i am reporting this here.

But should probably be set to:
windows.versions.6.1=6.1 - Versions Windows 7 / Windows Server 2008 R2
And the correct Linux path would be: /opt/novell/zenworks/resources/properties/com/novell/zenworks/core/web/internal/resources/CoreInternal_fr.properties.
This bug would probably take them a minute or two to fix, sad to hear that it's been there since 11.

Verizon FIOS Intermittent Packet Loss Problem - How to Convince Verizon Support it's NOT ME

Hi,
I have been having a problem with Verizon FIOS Internet AND Phone since Thursday afternoon.
Basically I have intermittent outages several times a day of 15-40 seconds where my download doesn't work, but upload still does. This happens on BOTH my phone and internet. Therefore it's not my router or computer equipment causing the problem.
Here's what happens:
- On the internet: I have a periodic download problem where I can receive no data for about 15 - 40 seconds. After that it returns to normal
- On the phone: If I'm on the phone at the same time then during that period of internet loss I also can not hear anything that the person I am talking to says. However they can hear me just fine (ie. download only problem)
I have been talking to Verizon technical support and they have blamed my router and ONT. I have tried switching off the router, and using a different one. Also they have replaced the ONT twice.
* This problem occurs on BOTH the phone and internet at the same time. This clearly suggests the problem is not in my own house.
In fact I know exactly where the problem lies. I did a traceroute to google below:

Then I pinged each device for hops 2-4. When the problem occurs the first one in the hop - 74.105.157.1 - runs fine. The second device - 130.81.133.156 - times out, and all other devices further down the chain time out. This clearly suggest that the device:
130.81.133.156 has major problems.
I have mentioned this to tech support, but they have no way for me to send them logs. Apparently the support technicians at Verizon can not be trusted with even the most basic of tools like email and the web. They also shield me from the NT (Network technician), who is so special that even the tech support guys are only allowed to text chat with him, not actually talk to him. I have enough logs here to clearly show what the problem is.
The latest from tech support is that they are sending yet another guy by my house tomorrow to witness this problem firsthand. Then he will call support that will text chat with the NT, and MAYBE they'll start thinking it's not me.
My main question here is: "How do I get Verizon to believe it really could be a problem in their own network?"

One person said Verizon finally fixed it by replacing a PON card. I'm not sure if this is the same problem as that though.
I am an avid Starcraft player and this is driving me crazy because I am getting dropped from my games all the time. Also phone conversations suck when there's these big lags where I can't hear who I'm talking to.
I have had Verizon FIOS internet for 3 years now and this is the first problem I've ever had with it. But I'm starting to get majorly frustrated at how long it's taking to resolve the problem.

I understand your logic, but you have not eliminated 74.105.157.1 as the problem. It could be allowing packets out, like outside callers hearing you, but not allow them back in. Since you have results pinging out, trying ping back in. Use this packet loss tool. You do not need to catch it when it's not working because this tool will ping your IP address (and all the hops in between) for up to 7 days. You will easily see when packet loss is occurring.
If it can successfully ping 74.105.157.1 when the problem occurrs, then 130.81.133.156 is not the issue. This may not help dealing with the personalities at Verizon, but it will help definitively knowing which device is the issue.

Filter problem in the report

Experts,
We have a problem with Filter on Costcenter taking very very long time . When we click on Filter button on Cost center after executing a BW report, then a new window opens and nothing happens after that with a blank white screen in the filter window. We have tried so many options to improve performance but only one thing worked out as a work around.
I have deleted enteried in the master data table using TC SE14 and then reloaded master data. Then filter on this working now with in 1 min. But we have process chains running every day loading Master data .Once these process chains finish again when we filter on Cost center on the next day, now the problem still exists , takes long time to for filter window to open up. Is there any way to delete master data entries delete automatically. Any advice appreciated .

Is that u are doing the master data full upload?
Try to do delta loads.
If it is the client specific. Create a process chain to delete the same master data contents. and schedule the process chain to run daily night or just before the master data loads happen, so that it will not affect the runtime. Else have to delete the same manually.

Quadrature encoder on PCI 6220 DAQ custom digital filter problem

I am using both counters on my 6220 DAQ for quadrature encoders. What I am trying to do is filter some bounce that I am getting on the axes. I want to be able to custom set the minimum pulse width for each encoder (or both the same should be fine). The problem is that the digital filter using DAQmx channel property for each line seems to work fine (I haven't proven that this actually works) but one has to choose from preset values (the smallest being 2.55ms). I want to reject anything that is less the 10ms. This document mentions that you can set up a programmable filter based on an external filter clock. How do you actually do this? Is there no way to use one of the internal timebases for this? If so how? The "Digital Filtering Conciderations for TIO-Based Devices" entry in the NI-DAQmx help states that you can choose one of four different values for a debouncing filter on a PFI line (different values than the previously linked document) and a custom filter value.
OK here is the short question .... is there a way for me to digitally filter the lines coming into my counters to reject anything less then 10ms through software only? If so, how? If using an external timebase is required, how do I do this?

Although the documentation does mention that you can have one programmable filter setting, this is only true for TIO-Based devices. Unfortunately, the NI-6220 is a M-Series, which means that the only allowable minimum pulse widths settings are 125 ns, 6.425 µs and 2.55 ms. More information on this can be found in your NI-DAQmx help under NI-DAQmx Device Considerations » Digital Filtering » C and M Series.
I believe for your application requirement, we would have to look into some oour Counter/Timer devices.

Interactive Report Filter Problem

Hello,
I ran into a problem with an interactive report today. When the report first loads, no issue. If a filter is added, an error is returned. The error is actually generated by an assertion routine that raises and exception if a NULL value was passed in. Here's a modified/simplified version of the query:
SELECT id,
   name,
   dept,
   emp.year_of_emp(hire_date) AS years_of_employment
FROM emp_table
WHERE id IN (
   SELECT c001
   FROM apex_collections
   WHERE collection_name = 'EMPS_UNDER_MANAGER'
);Again, when the report first loads, no problem. Then when the manager applies, say a filter on dept, an error is raised from the emp.year_of_emp function because a NULL value was passed in.
I know that all emps with an emp id in the collection have a hire_date so I don't feel as though I should have to add another condition in the where clause to filter those out (although that is the work around at this point). Anyone have any ideas as to what could be causing this?

Yes, of course I "could" update the functions, but this is NOT something I want to do. I'm one of those people that subscribes to Coding by Contract and the assertion routines at the beginning and end of my subprograms are an important part of that.
This may be a lack of understanding on my part with regards to the order in which Oracle does it's thing - or a bug in Apex... I'm able to duplicate the problem on apex.oracle.com: dmcghan/test/test.
Log into the demo app with admin/dmcghan. The home page has an interactive report, filter the name and you should get the error. When you look at the query you'll see a filter in the where clause that goes against the apex_collections table. This is populated from the post-authentication procedure. Let me know if you have questions.

Anyone familiar with Graduated Filter problems in LR-5?

My problem is that the filters only function with the edit pins and I cannot filter the complete image without selecting an area first. (My presets still work)
No clue what happened, please help me out.

I don't think there have been any algorithmic changes in red-eye, Lr5 vs. Lr4 (certainly none mentioned by Adobe, nor in Victoria Bampton's very thorough list of changes in Lr5, nor that I've noticed in the forums...), so if it is behaving differently (you sure it's not you? ), then it sounds like something is a-wonk now in your Lr5 (or was a-wonk before in your Lr4 ).
