Pacman-mirrorlist-20100131-1-i686.pkg.tar.gz corrupted

what the title says so I can't upgrade. Is anyone else having this problem as none of my other packages are producing this message.

is it me or has the mirrorlist gone to hell the last few days.  the only mirrors that seem both 1. up to date and 2. working without unexpected ftp errors and "cannot find package.tar.gz" (or cannot find server in a few cases) are the 3 french ones:
Server = http://mir.archlinux.fr/$repo/os/x86_64
Server = ftp://mir1.archlinux.fr/archlinux/$repo/os/x86_64
Server = http://mir1.archlinux.fr/archlinux/$repo/os/x86_64
even mir2 is not working for me atm (it was earlier).  my paranoid self tells me something is going wrong with the internets, because i was having other issues loading pages at work and here at home.  my less paranoid self says this is a freak occurence and most if not all mirrors will be caught up in a week or so.
i just fear losing those 3 mirrors, since even ftp.archlinux.org seems to be lagging behind with those 3.

  • Db-4.6.19-1-i686.pkg.tar.gz

    I have this problem for a few days, and have no idea how to fix it.
    When I comment [testing] in pacman.conf everything upgrades correctly.
    But when I enable [testing], I see:
    Targets: apr-1.2.11-1  db-4.6.19-1  pam-0.99.8.1-4  heimdal-1.0.1-2

    I tried to change servers in /etc/pacman.d/testing but it never helps.
    I tried to remove db, but too many other system packages use it.
    What's the reason and what's the solution?

    OK, looks like it was my problem with wget settings. I wonder why it happens only on testing. Probably all other repositories were downloaded via http.
    Sorry for false alarm.

  • Sudo-1.8.4-1-i686.pkg.tar.xz causes sudo/gksudo to fail

    Sudo and gksudo from the sudo-1.8.4-1-i686.pkg.tar.xz package fail with me, often producing a 'cannot open display' error, despite having 'Defaults env_keep += "HOME"' in /etc/sudoers. Happens with any program I'm trying to run. Downgrading to sudo-1.8.3.p2-2-i686.pkg.tar.xz makes everything work again as expected.
    Has something in the sudo logic or configuration changed, or is this a bug or whatever?

    Yes, I have experienced the same problem. After playing around with visudo, I commented the "Defaults env_keep += "HOME" option that I added in /etc/sudoers (therefore disabling it) and sudo/gksudo started functioning again for graphical applications. Something definitely changed, but I have no idea what..
    From the Arch Wiki this variable does the following;
    "Run X11 apps using sudo
    To allow sudo to start graphical application in X11, you need to add
    Defaults env_keep += "HOME" to visudo."
    But now it seems with the new sudo package that adding "Defaults env_keep += "HOME" disables the functionality of sudo/gksudo for X11 apps on my end?

  • Xgl-git-20061214-1.pkg.tar.gz corrupted

    the archive itself is corrupted, and pacman says
    error: archive xgl-git-20061214-1.pkg.tar.gz is corrupted
    from danimoth's server i686
    it's not my connection because i've tried pacman -Syu a couple of times, deleting the 'corrupted' package in between from /var/cache/pacman/pkg/xgl-git...
    the archive itself doesn't extract with a tar -xf anyways, so either I'm stupid, or the package wasn't zipped properly.

  • Can anyone provide me wine-1.1.11-1-i686.pkg.tar.gz?

    Seems 1.1.12 has some nasty bugs that dont allow me to run some of my games anymore.
    Since i am on 64bit i cant compile it easily...

    Yes, you should always keep wine packages somewhere OUTSIDE /var/cache/pacman/pkg.
    I've started doing this. I can also upload the wine version you are interested in, but my upload speed is also very very very low.
    Just trust Anarconda and wait for it

  • Libsamplerate-0.1.2-4-i686.pkg.tar.gz not found during MPD install

    ran pacman -S mpd
    Targets: libmikmod-3.1.12-1  libsamplerate-0.1.2-4  mpd-0.13.1-2
    I was able to get the first and third fine when Synching the package, but all the mirrors failed to retrieve libsamplerate-0.1.2-4. Do I need to download and compile the newest version of libsamplerate myself or will the pacman repositories obtain it?
    edit: I compiled -0.1.3 myself. hopefully that will do it.
    Last edited by elephantos (2008-05-14 00:43:00)

    In such situations one would do:
    pacman -Syy
    Current libsamplerate version is 0.1.3, the database information is not in sync, so it's refreshed. Compilation is not a solution. If after running the above you still can't get it to install, it's possibly a bug or a fault somewhere which you shouldn't ignore.

  • Xproto-7.0.14-1-i686.pkg.tar.gz File unavailable

    Right after a fresh installation and "pacman -Syu" I'm running "pacman -Sy nvidia" now.
    It doesn't find the xproto file anywhere, although I can see them when I browse the
    repos directly. I noticed that this file is in [testing] and uncommented those two lines
    in pacman.conf.
    Any idea?

    Same problem, if i look here the package is present, but if i look here it isn't.

  • Want nvidia and nvidia-utils-169.12-1-i686.pkg.tar.gz !!

    That might be your best bet.  I thought I had an even older version in my cache, but unfortunately I must have deleted it a few days ago.  Sorry.
    Edit: Did you by chance upgrade your kernel, too?  A few times I've had trouble when upgrading the kernel.  Try reinstalling (perhaps uninstalling and reinstalling) the nvidia drivers, or try "modprobe nvidia" as root.  Hopefully one of them will do it for you.  But then again, if you're not getting errors from X and you just have a black screen, I doubt either of those will do it.
    Good luck.

  • Convert .pkg folder to .pkg.tar.gz?

    I just build a package gmchess-0.20-1-i686.pkg.tar.gz from PKGBUILD,  I unpack the gmchess-0.20-1-i686.pkg.tar.gz and create a folder gmchess-0.20-1-i686.pkg, after changing some .png files in this folder, I compress the gmchess-0.20-1-i686.pkg folder back to gmchess-0.20-1-i686.pkg.tar.gz, however it can not be installed with command pacman -U, I try to search wiki, but get no clues, thanks for help.

    Try deleting it when asked.  It will then be redownloaded.  If it replicates, then file a bug report.

    ftp://ftp.archlinux.org/community/os/i6 … pkg.tar.xz
    This packet can't be downloaded (550 Failed to change directory). It causes some rsync errors.

    Maybe your sync database is out of date. Upgrade the system and try downloading the package again.
    pacman -Syu python2-pytz
    If that doesn't work, there may be something wrong with your mirror. Change it in /etc/pacman.d/mirrorlist and run the above command again.

  • Pacman failed retrieving *.pkg.tar.xz

    I recently discovered that my system was not upgrading because pacman was looking in repositories with older versions of files.
    I added this to /etc/pacman.d/mirrorlist
    Server = http://archlinux.org/$repo/os/x86_64
    Pacman needed upgrading
    So I upgraded pacman from 3.3.x to 3.5.4 and updated the database as instructed
    Now I sync'd with pacman -Sy
    It gave errors about not being able to find core.db and other .db files but appeared to sync the repositories anyways
    Now I started seeing lots of packages that needed upgrading, including pacman
    So I upgraded with pacman -Su and every file gave an error like the following line but then appeared to download
    error: failed retrieving file 'man-db-2.6.0.2-2-x86_64.pkg.tar.xz' from archlinux.org : Not Found
    I searched all around but haven't seen anything definitive about these kinds of errors
    One suggestion I saw was that this is connected to the pacman database version change
    Does anyone know why those errors are happening and how can I fix it?
