Page twice as wide in IE

Its me again......
Im having an issue in IE where my layout is completely messed up. I know im not designing with css and I should be but I came onto this job to redesign with whats currently there so its a little difficult. All but one of my pages are showing up about twice as wide as they should be, but only in IE. Code is below AND below that, is the code for the page that shows up fine in IE. I know I can always just swap everything with the good one but thats not really getting the bottom of the problem. Any help would be great. Thanks

Can you give us a link to the live page, please?
Typically, pages that start out like this -
<td colspan="5"><img src="Images\StationeryLanding\business_cards.jpg" border="0" /></td>
  </tr>
  <tr>
    <td colspan="3" rowspan="2"
are going to be a problem.  To see why I say that, read this -
http://apptools.com/rants/spans.php
To make matters worse, you have -
<!DOCTYPE HTML PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD HTML 4.01 Transitional//EN" "http://www.w3.org/TR/html4/loose.dtd">
<table width="78%" border="0" cellspacing="5" cellpadding="5">
So - no <html>, no <head>, no <title>, no </head> and no <body>?  I note also the lack of the closing tags for <html> and <body>.  Seems very wrong to me.

    I recently bought some new albums and can't play them on my ipod

    I just encountered the same problem on my 2 month old MBPro.  I found a work around by changing USB ports.  As for the actual cause or the reason why that worked, I dont know.  The USB port I was using works fine with my phone or other USB devices.

  • Inappropriate renderings  while dynamically including the same Page twice

    Hi,
    I am including same page twice with only one backing bean. It works fine when I execute the first included page or the second included page alone. But after executing the first included page and then if I clicked second included page which comes in a modal panel I am getting inappropriate rendering of components. i reckon the form is not initialized properly though the pages are using same backing bean and JSF code. Kindly give me some valuable inputs on this regarding.
    Thanks in advance!!

    I am very Sorry BaluC!!!
    yes I am using h:messages and also reads appserver logs .My application is constant per session(per user). So I am using session scoped bean for all the pages. the page which I had mentioned here loaded twice
    1. loaded individually by clicking the link from the left navigation,
    2. Also loaded from an other page as a modal panel by clicking a button in that page.
    I have used only one jsp code and backing bean which is included using <jsp:include>.
    Here is an example code where the page is loaded from the left navigation
    Page1:
    <html>
    <body>
    <h:form>
    <jsp:include page="sample.jsp" flush="true" />
    </h:form>
    </body>
    </html>Here is an example code where the page is loaded from the modal panel of an other page
    In Page2:
    <html>
    <body>
    <h:form>
    // Codes of Page2
    *//Here I will set some values in the session and pass it to the included page(sample) on a button click and the included page is loaded in a modal panel.*
    </h:form>
    <rich:modalPanel>
    <jsp:include page="sample.jsp"  flush="true"/>
    </rich:modalPanel>
    </body>
    </html>This is the included page
    sample.jsp:
    <f:verbatim><html>
    <body> </f:verbatim>
    <f:subview id="samplePageId">
    <h:form binding="#{SampleBean.initFom}">
    // Codes of sample JSP
    </h:form>
    <f:verbatim>
    </body>
    </html>
    </f:verbatim>In the initform(HtmlForm)
    SampleBean.java
    private HtmlForm initForm;
    public HtmlForm getInitForm()
            assignPageAttributes(); // void method in the backing bean "SampleBean"
            return initForm;
    private void assignPageAttributes()
      //code to get the session values which comes from page2.jsp
    if(sessionValues != null)
        // Included page loaded in a modal panel from page2.jsp
    else
    // Included page loaded from the left navigation if the session values doesnt contains any session values
    }In this way I am binding to the form of SampleBean.java. if I used the session scope the h:form component of the included page is shared . If I used request scope means the action is not performed properly. there are the problems i am facing right now.

  • Firefox loads a page twice

    Since first version of firefox 3 and still now, firefox loads somes pages twice. It is so anoying that I have to use internet explorer to browse some websites (specially on my intranet for maintenance operations).
    I have notice that the bug occurs on pages that make a few seconds to load (like when updating database).
    Is there anyway to desactivate or fix this bug/feature?
    Thanks

    To stop F/fox 3.6.12 loading pages twice, disable Adblock+ and Adblock + uploader in Add-ons. Worked for me.

  • Have to lick "back page" TWICE on every website before Firefox reacts

    have to click "back page" arrow twice before Firefox reacts. This occurs on ANY website

    Start Firefox in <u>[[Safe Mode]]</u> to check if one of the extensions or if hardware acceleration is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Appearance/Themes).
    *Don't make any changes on the Safe mode start window.
    *https://support.mozilla.org/kb/Safe+Mode
    *https://support.mozilla.org/kb/Troubleshooting+extensions+and+themes
    If it does work in Safe-mode then disable all extensions and then try to find which is causing it by enabling one at a time until the problem reappears.
    *Use "Disable all add-ons" on the [[Safe mode]] start window to disable all extensions.
    * Close and restart Firefox after each change via "File > Exit" (Mac: "Firefox > Quit"; Linux: "File > Quit")

  • Have to click Next button on results page twice

    Help!
    My first Captivate module is all ready to go, with one small
    problem. When users get through a quiz and go to the results page,
    they have to click the Next question twice. I'm not sure why this
    is, and I can't seem to fix it.
    For the rest of the slides, instead of automatic advancement,
    users have to click a Next or Back button to go forward or back,
    and I have quiz questions where the user can't go back, and no quiz
    review, but I don't see how those would impact that one single
    button on the results page, which of course I can't edit because it
    only appears when a quiz is completed, and not actually during
    design.
    I hope this makes sense! Please help. You're my only
    hope.

  • Do I have to buy pages twice..once for laptop and for iPad?

    ALSO, Is pages the best word processing for simple documents to be transfered or written on my ipad?
    Thanks

    Thank you for such a quick response.  I would still like to hear if there is any better word processing app if anyone knows of one.  Until then - I will go ahead and purchse pages.
    Thanks again for clearing it up.  I made a mistake of purchasing another app twice and didn't want to do it again.

  • SetPage(URL) loads page twice

    Hi,
    I'm writing a basic browser in Swing. As shown in the API, I use setPage(URL) to load a page into a JEditorPane. The page loads just fine, but when I look at the logs, it's being loaded twice. I've searched the web and seen that others have this problem, but no one has a solution. Can anyone help?
    Here's the setPage(URL) and JEditorPane code:
    final JEditorPane viewer = new JEditorPane();
    viewer.setPreferredSize(new Dimension(800, 600));
    viewer.setContentType("text/html");
    viewer.setEditable(false);
    public
    void actionPerformed(ActionEvent e)
        String inputValue = JOptionPane.showInputDialog(frame, "Enter a URL",
                            "Open Page", JOptionPane.PLAIN_MESSAGE);
        try
            viewer.setPage(inputValue);
        catch(IOException i)
            JOptionPane.showMessageDialog(frame, i.getMessage(), "Error",
                                          JOptionPane.ERROR_MESSAGE);
    }Thanks!

    Thanks for the reply - I figured out the problem.
    All of the pages I was loading had a meta element declaring the character set. When this element is removed, the page only loads once.
    The javax.swing.text.html.DocumentParser throws a changedCharsetException if the HTML declares a charset. It does not check whether the declared charset is the same as the charset in the HTTP header. This exception is thrown even though the charset didn't actually change. The thrown exception causes the page reload.
    Hope this helps someone.

  • Prints last page twice: HP LaserJet Pro P1102w

    My HP LaserJet Pro P1102w prints the last page of the last job as the first page of the new job every time.  The entire job prints every time (i.e that last page prints with the new job as the last page and also as the first page of the next job).  The printer is on my wireless network (WPA password).  I have tried rebooting the printer and there are no jobs shown in the print spool.  Any thoughts?  Thanks in advance for the help!

    Please check the following document, should help solving the descibed issue:

  • Since installing the new OS i am having troubles with different appliction icons showing up on my main page twice (upper left corner), and not allowng me to select certain ones (app store specifically).   Anyone else having this issue?

    Help - anyone else out there having trouble with the new OS system on their ipad 2?    I am not getting mutliple copies of several apps ont he main page.  They are "collecting: in a pike int he upper left corner and the original application icon is no lobger working.    I have tried a hard sync, and that didn't help.

    It should only be able to have one copy of an app on the iPad. Have you tried a reset : press and hold both the sleep and home buttons for about 10 to 15 seconds (ignore the red slider), after which the Apple logo should appear - you won't lose any content, it's the iPad equivalent of a reboot.
    Do all the apps work ? In the past a few people have taken a screen shot of their iPad screen and that has then become their background picture - so some of the 'app's may actually be on your wallpaper picture and not actual apps. Have you tried changing the wallpaper to see if that makes any difference ?

  • Link doesn't work on the same page Twice

    I have implemented a module in JSF where the page displays a datatable and one the columns is a command link which when clicked opens up a dialog box to save a CLOB from the DB as a csv on the local desktop.
    All this is working fine.
    The problem is that once the user clicks on one link in the datatable and then the user again clicks on any other link on the page or tries to use the Logout link the page is directed to the welcome page and in the logs the following exception is there.

  • Web Page changes site-wide

    I am doing a redesign of my website and I have redesigned a
    template for every page other than my index page. My pages are such
    that there is a header/logo and two rows of buttons below on the
    top of every page....and an ad and another row below it. The only
    thing that changes on every page is the "Body" which is in between.
    Is there an easy way to either change this sitewide as a whole? Is
    there an easy way to "cut & paste" the new top and bottom of
    these pages?
    I tried cutting and pasting the "Body" of a page into the new
    template I made and the content all transferred, but the images did
    not. The links in the images transferred though.

    Spawn a new page from the template. All your 'boilerplate'
    layout will be
    there AFTER you save the new page so don't worry about
    missing images etc.
    Copy and paste from an existing page. Save the page with the
    same name as
    the existing page. You will be fine. Repeat this process for
    each page in
    your site.

  • Make report print its result in one page twice

    Post Author: zecox
    CA Forum: Crystal Reports
                                                      I
    have a report, it generates result and I can print it out normally.
    The result takes up half of the page. What I want to do is to make the
    result repeat itself in empty bottom section. Does anybody have a clue
    how can this be accomplished. Thank you for your reply in advance.

    Create a blank report but don’t connect it to a datasource.
    Insert your existing report as a subreport in the detail section of blank report.
    Insert another detail section and insert your subreport again.
    In the blank report create the parameters that you will need to pass to the subreport.
    Map the parameters from the blank report to your subreports.
