Please take a look at the following pages in both browsers. pay attention to the right column and see the lists. In firefox they are ok but explorer does not show the same thing. any suggestions?

Also, make sure you declare a doctype in your page template:

If you don't, browsers will just take a guess at what type of (X)HTML you are using. Firefox might guess strict, IE 6 might guess loose, IE 7 might guess loose+quirks, etc. I know it doesn't seem like it would matter, but I've run into it quite a few times recently, so it's the first thing I check now.
You might also try a "Rest CSS" file. This fixed an issue I have in my current project:

I use Intuit to maintain a website. After I update the website, Firefox continues to display the previous version while the revised version is displayed on Internet Explorer. I have tried using both Firefox and Internet Explorer when I revise the website, but that does not appear to make any difference. The version on Firefox usually updates to the new version with in a day or two, but the change on Internet Explorer is immediate.
Try clearing your browser cache.
Tools > Clear Recent History... - hit Details and make sure only Cache is selected, then select Everything and hit the Clear Now button. -
Firefox has suddenly gone wrong. I was successfully running both Firefox and Internet Explorer 8 on Windows 7. My laptop is new and has plenty of RAM and HDD. I auto-accept upgrades including the most recent Firefox upgrade and the suggested upgrade to Adobe Flash 10.1. But after this, Firefox stopped working and does not work when I re-load Firefox 3.6. Also IE8 now works very slowly and does not locate major websites like Microsoft without a 'can't find the website message' and having to pressing Return a second time. When I do get to the Mozilla website and click on the button to try to download Firefox 3.6.6, I get this message "Oops! Internet Explorer could not find mozilla3.snt.utwente.nl". Can you help with what has gone wrong? As it stands, I can't use Firefox at all. Note: because Firefox did not work after the upgrade, I've downloaded the IE8 version of the Adobe Flash 10.1. What I really want is to be able to use both Firefox and IE8. But is this possible if they use different versions of Adobe Flash?

After upgrading to Ffx 3.6.6, the program asks you to upgrade to Flash Player Plugin 10.1. I download and installed 10.1 only to find videos weren't loading.
In my case, the problem is the previous installation of Flash Player (9.0.47) was somehow messing things up. To fix this, because I already had Flash plugin 10.1 installed I had to uninstall 10.1 using the uninstaller from adobe and then manually remove any files related the old flash player plugin 9.0.47
Here is a run-down of my process:
0. To check if you have a previous installation of the Flash Plugin lurking around, in Firefox go to Tools -> Add-ons -> Plugins (tab). At this point you may seen both Flash plugins.
1. Proceed to uninstall Flash Plugin 10.1. Adobe provides an uninstaller here: http://kb2.adobe.com/cps/141/tn_14157.html
( you have to make sure you have nothing running when you execute the installer).
2. On my Mac (sorry I don't know what it is in Windows) I searched the hard drive for any files/folders with "Shockwave". I found a folder called "Shockwave 10". It wasn't removed by Adobe's uninstaller. For safety I deleted it and then emptied the trash.
3. I then went to My HD -> Library -> Internet Plugins.
Remove the file and folder named "Flash player.old"
4. Restarted; ran the Adobe Flash Player 10.1 installer. Restarted again.
5. Opened up ffx and double checked the plugins list (see step 1). Version 10.1 is installed and available. Went to problem sites to test it out and Success!

MOUSE_DOWN & MOUSE_UP events behaving strangely in firefox and internet explorer w/low framerate
Basically what I'm seeing is that in Firefox and Internet Explorer only, using the latest flash plugins for each, when the framerate in my game drops due to a large number of display objects on screen (not unexpected behavior), MOUSE_DOWN and MOUSE_UP events seem to get queued up (this probably happens whether the framerate is low or not, but it doesn't have any adverse effects when the framerate is high). Flash will try to process every click that occurs, even though it can take up to several seconds. So, for example, if the user clicks the mouse 20 times in a second, but the framerate is running at around 5 fps, the game will be reacting to those clicks for around 3-5 seconds. It doesn't ignore any of them. This causes some strage behavior in our game and is not desirable. In the standalone flash player, and in Chrome browser, a large number of clicks in a short time frame does not have the same behavior. It seems to treat the most recent click with some priority, so it will cancel out a previous click. A single click in our game will cause an object to generate a path and move to the point on screen which was clicked (think point-and-click to move a walking 2D character).
Since this behavior is so different in 2 browsers, could have something to do with how it's embedded, like the wmode parameter? That seems to be the only idea that comes up searching on Google. Is there some way in my code that I can forcibly make a new mouse_down get processed right away instead of waiting for previous events to complete?Ya, the problem isn't that events are coming in out of order, but rather they are somehow getting triggered at an unacceptably slow rate. It's not that the events are complicated. They merely set a boolean _isMouseDown to true and false (for MOUSE_DOWN, MOUSE_UP, respectively). But if I rapidly click, and then let go of the mouse, I'll see that boolean get set true,false,true,false,etc for a few seconds after I let go of the mouse. Why does this delay exist in Firefox and IE but not Chrome or the standalone player? It's almost as if Chrome and the standalone player let events be in their own thread while IE and Firefox, the events get held up, maybe because there is only one thread to use?

Firefox, Chrome and Internet explorer are all types of Browser; for use (mainly) on the internet, other modern browsers are Safari & Opera.
Just to confuse things slightly, Windows Explorer, is the name of the software that is usually used to look at content (files & folders) on Windows PCs.

I have used Firefox as my default browser for many years. I've recently started getting a Java error message. It pops up continually. I have updated flash and java. I have uninstalled and re-installed Firefox and nothing has helped. I have had to start using Chrome instead of Firefox which I don't care for but I don't have the java error with Chrome. The first rule of thumb with misbehaving applications is to erase the Application's preferences and then try it again, but that might be somewhat dangerous considering that you could accidentally erase all of your bookmarks/favorites in the process.
I'm running Mac OS 10.4.7 and I can get FireFox 1.07, 1.5, and 2.0, plus IE 5.2.3 to run, in addition to other browsers like Safari 2, OmniWeb 5.5, Netscape 7.2, and Opera 8.5 and 9. -
Firefox and Internet Explorer crashes on startup
Firefox and Internet Explorer both crash at startup. I have tried resetting Firefox but it still crashes. I click on the details box and nothing happens. They will both work fine when I boot up Windows in safe mode.

My Muse page looks different on Firefox and Chrome - both are the latest versions
On Firefox, my pre-loader wants to load each time it encounters an Edge Animate on my scroll page. Page anchors are slightly changed in Firefox and this messes up my scroll, opacity and Ege Animate triggers.

Lastly, I can't get my Form on the said page to work - on both Chrome and FIrefox. I can fill in the boxes but clicking 'Send' doesn't seem to do anything. Also, the text column for "Message" is ridiculously narrow - only 2-3 words long and I can't seem to change this. Visually it looks long but once I start typing it wordwraps after only 2-3 words. I'm using the built-in Form widget that comes with Muse.BTW, the form is right at the bottom of the page/URL I provided in the previous para - you can get there via the menu button, Inquiry.

Notice how Firefox initiates the Muse pre-loader each time it reaches an Edge Animate object AND how the layout looks different when I use the menu buttons to access page anchors. Unfortunately, I forgot to record the form's Message Text Field, to show how narrow the column is. Any idea on how to fix/enlarge the column for this?
BTW, I just received a form submission that I made a while back - like half an hour ago.

Does the Math.Random() work differently in Firefox and Safari??
Hello,
I was wondering if anyone can help me with a problem I'm
running into using the math.random(). I'm using Flash CS3 and
created a very simple script to select random frames in a simple
movie. It works as expected in the CS3 environment and in Safari
but it doesn't work correctly in Firefox or in the DotNetNuke
module I am using. Here is the code:

Quicktime video looks different in Firefox and Safari, is there a fix?

but to keep it simple, my immediate issue is that Safari and Firefox are displaying my video differently. Firefox appears darker and Safari appears brighter. With my monitor set to a gamma of 1.8 (default for OS X) Firefox looks perfect and Safari looks washed out, and with my monitor set to 2.2 (Windows default and all-together better looking) Firefox is too dark and Safari is perfect.
All I want to know is WHY they look different and how to fix this.Thanks for your response. While this may work with audio and video originating from your own computer it doesn't seem to effect audio and video viewed from the Firefox 5.01 browser which uses a QuickTime plugin. Audio and Video viewed from Safari and Firefox 3.6.19 work fine which leads me to believe the QT plugin and Firefox 5 browser are not working correctly.

Safari 5 Blank Page - Works in Firefox and Chrome

I have been creating a website in dreamweaver, and the preview in safari doesn't seem to work and it's getting rather irritating. I think it's something to do with javascript, as the main page i put the java above the css and it worked. But the second page only worked when i deleted the css.

Firefox (and interent explorer) won't open at all despite functioning interent connection
I'm using a dell Inspiron with windows vista (home basic). I downloaded Skype and was promoted to install some emoticon thing with it and somehow it closed my browsers. When I went to open it again, I'm getting messages from Microsoft windows that says "Firefox has stopped working. A problem caused the program to stop working correctly. Windows will close the program and notify you if a solution is available." I uninstalled Skype and the emoticons, restarted my laptop, and Firefox still won't open at all. Please help me! Thanks.

We can try this by starting Firefox in safe mode to see if the issue is because of some plugin/addin. Once Firefox works fine in the safe mode, you can then go ahead to find the offending plugin and uninstall it to ensure that you are able to use Firefox without any issues.
