Paid app like WinterBoard?

Is there a paid app that does what WinterBoard does? For those that do not know what it is, it is a jailbreak application that allows you to changed appearance themes, icons, and backgrounds. It also allows you to show your wallpaper on the springboard all the time, not only on the unlock screen. I'd be happy with just being able to show my wallpaper all the time without the themes or icon changes.
I would gladly pay up to $15 for one that does, as I don't condone or want to jailbreak. As a programmer myself, I would never take money away from those that work hard for it. I know how hard it is to make it out there with the marked as tough as it is today.
Any help would be greatly appreciated!!!

Why can't I download paid apps like games?

I have a good amount of money in my account, but every time I try to download a paid app such as a game, it says my download can't be completed and gives me a URL to www.apple.com/support/iTunes. This message means that there is a restriction on the account for some reason preventing that type of purchase from processing. You'll need to contact the Account Security Team to have the restriction lifted.

All my paid apps won't sync to my iPad from iTunes. Apps like Towermadness, Downloads, etc. What do I do?

When I got to the Apps tab in my summary page, it says sync apps is checked. But, only free ones will download. All my paid apps, like downloadsHD, Towermadness HD, Fragger HD, etc starts to download then says, "itunes sync failed" what do i do?

I have also noticed the same "problem". I do not fully understand the impact of using the same ID on multiple computers and devices if I want to keep them all in sync.

Try contacting the app support of the particular app your using.
Most apps have an app support button on their app page within itunes.
If they wont reply within a reasonable amount of time and you feel like the particular app developer has cheated you, bring the issue forward to apple care.
Note that app developer have their own customer support.

How can i change a paid app from an Apple ID to other different Apple ID?

When i puchased my Ipad 2 i purchased a couple of paid apps for my little daugther, however due the damage she caused to my device, i decided to buy a new ipad.
I need to keep my Apple ID intact and thats why i have created a new one for my wife to be used with her apps and my little dauther apps.
My question is: How to change just a couple of paid apps from my account to the new account? Do i have to buy the apps again to use it trough the new Apple ID?

yes u do. there is no way to transfer apps to another apple id.
u can, however, keep the same apple id signed into the itunes/app section of every device and be able to keep ur apps. if u want wife and daughter to have different apple id's then just sign into those id's in the other places (like icloud settings) but leave urs signed into the itunes.
if u do that then it might be a good idea to put restrictions on the other devices to prevent ur daughter from being able to buy anything

How do I transfer a paid app from one iPad to another?

I am not sure where is the best place to post this question, but here it is anyway:
The school I work in has 37 iPads split between 2 mobile carts. For a variety of reasons, the staff wands the iPads divided up by classroom. No problem. The problem is that they would like the paid apps on the ipads moved around so the grade level apps wind up in the appropriate classrooms. This is logical.
My problem is I have no real idea how to free up iPads from one iPad so that they are available for transfer to another ipad. I use Apple Configurator to acquire paid apps from the Volume Purchasing Program and download/install them initially to iPads.
One knowledgeable individual gave me this advice:
"If you placed the apps on the ipad using Apple Configurator, then you should be able to attach the initial iPad to AC, unsupervise the iPad, and the apps' licences should be available for redistribution. Then connect iPad #2 to AC, turn Supervision on in AC, then add the specific app to iPad #2."
- - - - That sounded too good to be true. I tried it and found out that that process does not free up app licences (at lest when I tried it). What I think is the problem is that I don't know Apple products and iOS well enough and missed steps. (I am from the Netware/Microsoft AD/Windows computing environment.)
Could someone help an old grunt out and possibly provide a detailled set of steps how to transfer paid app licences from one iPad to another? I appreciate any help. Thanks

It is true that you can "return" app licenses to Apple Configurator and redistribute that license to another iPad. The key is that both iPads must be "Supervised" in order to return the app license. See this from Apple:
Removing apps from devices
If you use Apple Configurator to remove a redeemed VPP app from a supervised device, Apple Configurator marks the corresponding redemption code as available. It can be reassigned to a different device supervised by this copy of Apple Configurator for this Mac only. It is not available for redemption by other Macs or iOS devices.
If you unsupervise a supervised device, all apps will be removed from the device and the redemption codes used to install those apps will be marked available for reassignment. If you simply remove a device record from Apple Configurator, the redemption codes for any apps on that device will not be available for reassignment.

Purchases are permanently tied to the AppleID used at the time of purchase. If your friend used his AppleID to buy the app, then you will need his AppleID and password to update that app. Otherwise, you need to buy it yourself with your own AppleID.

Can I transfer a paid app from my iPad to my wife's iPad?

My wife has a new iPad for Christmas. Can I transfer the paid apps that I have on my iPad to my wife's iPad. Can I just open my account in the App Store on my wife's iPad and download a purchased app that would be listed in my account to my wife's iPad. The obvious disadvantages to sharing an ID for everything is that you can't each backup to the same iCloud account, sync your own Notes, Reminders, Safari Bookmarks, etc. It's a little more work (but totally possible) in order to use FaceTIme and Messages with one Apple ID only. If you use an app like Pages, you will most likely not want to sync what she is syncing or keep the same documents on both iPads.
You can share an ID for purchases, but you can set up another Apple ID so that you can each use iCloud, Messages and FaceTime. You actually don't need another ID in order to both use Messages and FaceTime, but you will probably want your own iCloud accounts anyway, and you need a separate Apple ID for that.
This explains how you can add email addresses to use with FaceTime and Messages if you want to share one ID.

The 90 day ID lockout has no bearing on whether the apps will work or not work. Once you download an app to your iPad, it doesn't matter whose ID that you used to download the app, it will always work whether you are signed into that ID or not. Your wife does not have to be signed into your ID in order to use an app that was downloaded with your ID. After the 90 days are up, and she switches back to her own ID, the apps will still work no matter whose ID was used to download them. You are correct in that she will not be able to update the apps as long as she is signed into her own ID, but she can sign into your ID and update the apps that way.
The 90 day lockout policy is to prevent the dishonest users from giving apps, movies, music, etc to one another without paying for them again, not to prevent a husband and wife to share purchases or a parent and child to share content. Since the minimum age for an Apple ID is 13, young children have to share an ID with a parent or they wouldn't be able to download anything at all.

Hi guys, It has been a while that I am not able to see or download any paid apps on ovi store. why do you think is that? I can not even find youtube app on ovi when I search for it. I can only see FREE apps.

f you are using a symbian device, then you are not stuck to using ovi store, you can find other stores that sell applications and even choose where you would like to purchase those applications based on the site you want to support....you can do this on an elppa product!

Recently purchased a non network Palm Pre p100ueu here in ireland, however it wont update to any verison later than 1.4.0.
I also cant see any paid apps; Phone is running on Vodafone Ireland Network.

As above i purchased my pre unlocked from an online retailer, its currently running on the vodafone ireland network on palm webOS 1.4.0. When running the updater app it connects but tells me the below:
I have done some research and it looks like id need webOS 1.4.1 and above to see paid apps in addition to the free apps.
Ive tried checking updates over wifi aswell, no difference. There was no errors during device activation / setup either. Everything else is working fine.

Apple configurator and paid apps without VPP codes?

Is it possible to use the Apple Configurator to install paid apps by using Gifted apps?
We cant use VPP as it is not available outside the US and iTunes support suggested the following:
"Create separate accounts for each Apple ID, and there should be one designated "Purchasing account", which can purchase all of the necessary apps as gifts, and then the redemption codes can be sent to the correct Apple IDs"
Does anyone have other workarounds for this situation in case this is not possible?

You could use an MDM solution like Meraki Systems Manager (free) http://www.meraki.com/products/systems-manager/ . Purchase VPP codes for your 1:1 teachers. Add the VPP codes to Meraki and distribute to teachers. That way the teachers wouldn't have to tie back to the AC computer. Meraki (and other MDMs) can do things wirelessly.
You could also email VPP codes to the teachers and have them redeem the codes with their own Apple IDs.
But to answer your question, yes you should create a separate VPP order for carts vs your 1:1 teachers.

Hi,, I recently bought Mac book air from Stanford book store.. however it doesnt have any of the built in apps which are supposed to be on the mac air like iphoto , imovie and all.. and all these apps are paid.. how can i get these apps without paying as these are paid apps ...when I'm suppose to get it free of cost.. pls help how can i get them...

Based on our conversation you seem to be new to the Mac, am I right?
If yes, that is okay. I will provide you with more detailed instructions.
Open a Finder window. On the left side of the window, there are lists on folders. One of them is the applications folder. You can also access the applications folder by pressing Shift+Command+A when you are in Finder.
This folder contains ALL applications that is installed on your computer. Your Dock only shows shortcuts, SOME of the applications in the Applications folder. The Dock is designed for easy access so users don't have to go to the Applications folder every time to launch an app.
If you want to use, say iMovie, you can drag the iMovie app icon from the Applications folder to the Dock for future easy access.

Can't find paid Apps on iTunes! Help!

I just upgraded from a 3GS to an iPhone 4, so I'm trying to get my phone set up the way I like it. However, after backing up my 3GS on my iTunes/transferring all of the Paid Purchases to my library, I see that absolutely NONE of my paid apps/games appear! Where did all my purchases go and how do I get them on my iPhone 4? Also, not all of my free apps appeared either! How do I work this out without having to pay again?

If you're on a Mac, the apps should be in this folder:
<Your username>/Music/iTunes/Mobile Applications
If you're on Windows:
C:\Users\<your username>\Music\iTunes\iTunes Media\Mobile Applications
