Palmone tungsten e2 PDA

Does a Palm One Tungsten E2 have an internal memory besides the SD card in the device. I have lost battery power and will not recharge but the SD card is blank. I had a lot of addresses and phone numbers and wonder if they are still in the device . If so will I need to purchase a battery to replace the old one and retrieve the data?

Hello, and Welcome to the HP Support Community!
The E2 has NVRAM as it's internal memory, so whatever is there will still remain in the event of power loss!  :-)
You will need a battery to retreive the data.  Might want to look up Chris Short, aka PalmDr. on eBay for repairs.

  • Transfer file from Windows 7 to palmOne TUNGSTEN E2 on internal memory by BlueTooth

    Hello.
I have palmOne TUNGSTEN E2 without memory card and laptop Asus F3E with Windows 7.
I would like to transfer by BlueTooth PDF file from laptop to Palm.
How to do it easly and step by step?

Adobe Reader for PalmOS was a terrible program that can't read raw PDF files.  They had to be converted on a computer first into a .prc file.
This is why I suggested using "PalmPDF".  It can read raw .pdf files.
I am thinking you might not be able to transfer raw PDF's into RAM.  It may be time to purchase an old 1 gig "regular"  SD card if you want to use these files on a Palm device.

What version of Vista?  32bit or 64bit?
If 64bit, you cannot sync via a USB cable.  This subject has been extensively covered many times in the Windows HotSync section of the forum, BTW.  I'm going to move your post to there for better focus.

  • NEEDED "Hot Sync USB Cable for Palmone Zire 31 PDA"

I am looking for a Hot Sync USB Cable for a Palmone - Zire 31 PDA. I have searched the internet up and down yet, all places I've browsed are either out of stock or the item is out dated. Yes, I know that I've had it since 2005 but it is still in perfect working condition and I'm not going to rock the boat and buy an updated one when I have one already.
If there is someone out there who can assist me with locating the above referenced cable please let me know.

How do I move apps from PalmOne Tungsten E2 to Palm TX?
    Apps are:
    Blocks
    Big Clock
    Gobble
    YAUC
    Speed Value
    Mine Hunt

Non-copywritten apps can be sent via BlueTooth ("Send"), or Infra-red ("Beaming").
From the Launcher screen, tap the top left corner to open the pull-down menu.  Choose either Send or Beam, then select the program you want to transfer.
To use BlueTooth, both devices should be paired first, and to use IrDA, you need to make sure "Beam Receive" is turned on in the receiving device.

  • Palm Desktop Crash - unable to sync with handheld PalmOne Tungsten E2

Hello, this may have been addressed before, but I am not sure.  A couple weeks ago I was in Palm Desktop when it just froze.  Once I got out of it, I found that about 99% of my calendar datebook had been lost.  I have tried to sync it again with my handheld Tungsten E2 to try to reinstall my info from handheld to desktop - but it just gets stuck on syncing the datebook.  I had a computer geek look at it and he was unable to help me.  I guess I could live without my former appointments and re-enter my future ones, but I can't sync anymore, it keeps hanging up at datebook.  Any suggestions?  I really appreciate your thoughts.....BTW I have a MAC with Vista installed through Bootcamp.

    Hi,
Basically, the sync will stuck at Datebook when there are some corrupted Calender events on Palm device.
We have 2 options to fix this issue.
    1) Hard Reset.
    2) Use DbScan application to remove the corrupted calender events on Palm.
As many wouldn't like to do the hard reset as sometimes all the Calender events would be on Palm.
    Hence, I suggest DbScan.
It's easy to fix the issue.
First we have to set the DateBook to Do Nothing in the HotSync Manager window.
To get to the HotSync Manager window follow the below steps:
Right click on the HotSync Manager in the Windows System Tray(on the lower right corner of your computer) and click on Settings.
This will open the HotSync Manager window.
    And then click on Applications.
Make sure you select the correct sync user name in the HotSync Manager window at the top center.
    Double click on Datebook.
    check the box "Do Nothing"
And click on OK and Done button.
Now install the dbScan software from the below link.
    http://www.palmgear.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=software.showsoftware&PartnerREF=&siteid=1&prodID=2351
Download the software with Guest user name.
Double click the dbScan.prc file it will goes to Install Tool.
    Peform the sync.
This will install DBScan application on Palm.
Then, follow the below steps on your Palm device.
1.Tap on Dbscan application on the device.
If you see any message saying, it's an older version and you need to install a new version. Please ignore the message and go to next step.
    2. Choose the option other.
3.Press the menu button on the device.
4.From the options menu choose "Remove all the deleted records"
5.Now choose the option "Palm source".
6.From the options menu  again choose "Remove all the deleted records"
7.Now choose the option "Palm one".
    8. From the options menu choose "Calender DB Blob check".
    9.Tap on "Yes to all"
    10. Try performing HotSync now.
This will fix the Datebook sync issue.

  • PalmOne Tungsten E2

Hi, I am new to this site.  I have a Tungsten E2 that I use strictly for planning, organizing and storing info/contacts.  I do not go online with it or sync it with my computer, nor do I really want to do so at this time.  I have very limited knowledge and patience for technology and am ok with that.  The problem I have is that all of the sudden my calendar information only goes back a few months, where in the past I could look back to the date I started using my handheld.  Is there any way to restore this old info and can anyone tell me why this happened?  I am feeling completely lost and inept on this site as most of the topics for support seem to be computer jargon that I don't understand.  Help!!  Thanks...
    Post relates to: Tungsten E2

Hi. I'm sorry to say that if you don't sync your E2 with a comouter or have any other backup such as on a Secure Digital storage card, your old data is gone forever.

  • I NOW HAVE 2 PALMONE TUNGSTEN /E2'S I WANT TO SYNC THEM WITH SAME INFO. PLEASE HOW???

My daughter gave me her palm because she has gone to other stuff.  I love my Palm and I would like to sync them both so I could use one especially for Travel purposes while my 'baby' sits safely at home.  All suggestions would be woulcome. TNX HP12thman

Hello, and Welcome to the HP Support Community!
Syncing two Palm PDA's to one HotSync account is not something the devices were designed to do.
I/we here who offer our help here in this Forum have heard numerous reports of scrambled devices, and data saved in Palm Desktop caused by performing this task.
There is a tedious way to do this safely though.  Whether you feel it is worth the trouble is up to you!
You need to designate one of the devices as the "Master", the other the "Slave".   Erase the Slave device via a Hard Reset, then sync it to Palm Desktop.  Palm Desktop will recognize the device as blank and will ask you "Create a new account, or use and existing one?"   Choose existing, and pick your normal account name.
FROM NOW ON you have to change all the Conduit settings in Palm Desktop to "Desktop overwrites Handheld" whenever you wish to sync to this Slave device!!!   If you don't, you will risk scrambling all the data for both devices and Palm Desktop...
In essence, you are creating a simple "Backup Device" that does not get updated while on the road.  Any updates have to be done in either Palm Desktop or the Master Device.   When doing a HotSync to the Master device, the conduits have to be reset to "Synchronize".
I'm sure you can see the probability of making a mistake can be high.
Many of us perferred using an on-device backup system named "NVBackup".  This saved an entire mirror image of the data to an SD card in the device.   However, if you are worried about the slave device being lost or stolen, this won't be of much help.
Good luck!   I still have two Palm TX PDA's that work like brand new!

Hello, and Welcome to the HP Support Community!
Instructions and downloads can be found in this thread.
You will have to be logged in as an Administrator to properly install the software.
Ask your IT folks to grant you this permission once for the install, then they can revoke it back to user after one successful HotSync (if you don't normally have Admin rights).

  • Synching a PalmOne Tungsten E2 to a BlackBerry Curve 8310

I'm trying to get the calendar, contacts, tasks, etc from my old Palm to my new Blackberry.  Synching starts and then freezes during the calendar sync at 1818/1983 when I'm using the BlackBerry Desktop Manager.  I've tried shutting down and reopening the programs, rebooting the computer, removing the phone battery and upgrading to BlackBerry Desktop Manager version 4.7.  It always freezes while exporting records from the Palm Desktop during the calendar export on record 1818 of 1983.  I'm at a loss.  Any suggestions?

Hi and welcome to the forums!
I had the same problem you are experiencing when moving from my Treo 650 to my BB.  You can sync directly from your Palm to your BB using the switch device wizard, but I ran into problems.  Here is what I did to move my organizer data:
First thing you want to do is to make sure you get a good, complete sync of your Palm data with the Palm desktop. All your data will then be up to date on your Tungsten.  Then change the conduits in your Palm desktop so that your Tugnsten syncs with Outlook instead of the Palm desktop. Make sure you map the fields as you want the organizer data to move over to Outlook as the Palm vs Outlook fields differ in many respects. Once successful, you should have your data in Outlook; check to make sure everything is as you want it in Outlook.
Since you have had error msgs along the way, you would probably be best to get a clean installation of DTM (BB desktop manager) before you go any farther: Clean uninstall of Desktop Manager
Reinstall DTM, reboot your pc and you should then be ready to sync between the BB and Outlook. Open DTM  and then connect your BB via usb. Set up your synchronization settings for your organizer data. Synchronization settings
At this point, I sync'd one app at a time (calendar-contacts-memos-tasks) so I would only have one app to monitor in case of  any error messages.   Once you have successfully sync'd all your organizer data, make a backup.  Excellent practice to get into each time you sync.
Let us know how it goes.

We tell people DO NOT BACKUP the virtual disk.. as it will make your TM backups blow out to crazy sizes.. especially if you have been doing this over wireless. Most people exclude the virtual disk.
If you have been backing it up, try restoring it. I don't know whether it will restore properly though.
    Check the parallels forum area..
    http://download.parallels.com/desktop/v4/docs/en/Parallels_Transporter_Users_Gui de/22666.htm
If you can reset it to use a different virtual hdd. Do not be surprised if the end result is you have to start all over again though.

Well my application is developed using java wireless toolkit 2.5 beta for midp2.0 and cldc 1.1 and as i understand it, tungsten E2 supports midp2.0. I created the prc file using IBM WME toolkit's jarToPrc tool, could that be the issue? the fact that the development environment is different from the tool that created the prc file?
