Panel expansion

Hi,
I am trying to achieve something like"Column Labels" in the below link
http://www.flexmonster.com/flash/help/index.html?file=Examples/sample_flex/FlexPivot.html
I tried using collapsible panel concept but the when the panel opens it is of limited width say width=200 but when it expands i am displaying data that fits in width=400 so all data is not displaying.
the collapsible panel is from
http://hasseg.org/blog/post/113/collapsible-panel-component-for-flex/
I would really appreciate if you guys can suggest any new ideas or improvements to the existing code
Thanks

rootsounds,
Thanks for the reply. I have applied the popup and it worked.
I changed the popup = BtnPopup(PopUpManager.createPopUp(this, BtnPopup, true)); so that the user has to select some value on popup or click cancel
I have one more question is it possible to make this popup non moveable??since i can drag the popup anywhere in the window
I really appreciate your help
Thanks

  • LR2.0 - disable lightroom mouse over panel expansion

Is there a way I can disable the auto-expansion of side panels when I have the panel hidden but I mouse over the edge of the screen? I only have so much screen real estate so I hide all the panels when reviewing images. I don't want the panels to re-appear until I click on them. The mouse-over behavior is just annoying and I want to disable it. To me this is the most frustrating / irritating part of the LR interface.

Switch the panels to Manual mode (right click each). Then just use F5-F8 to hide or display them.

  • Conditional row keys in EVDRE

    Hi All,
I'm trying to build a schedule with nested row dimensions where level 3 member is based on level 1 member value.
Let's say I have TIME expansion in columns and three espansions in rows: RESOURCE, DOMAAIN, PROJECT.
RESOURCE dimension members have a custom property DOMAIN which should facilitate many-to-one relationships between members. For example, RESOURCE_A only has value on the intersection with member DOMAIN_A. There are several hundred resource and domain members so displaying memebrsets is not an option, moreover, determining the relationship based on names or ID-s is not so intuitive.
So basically I have the following Membersets in Evdre control panel:
    EXPANSION 1 | EXPANSION 2 | EXPANISON 3 | EXPANSION 4
    COL | ROW | ROW | ROW
    TIME | RESOURCE | PROJECT | DOMAAIN
BAS; BAS; ="ID=P00 or ID="&I8; NOEXPAND
I was expecting that if I have row keys defined as follows, EVDRE would expand based on first two rowkey columns and repeat whatever is left in the last. I have similar schedules working but without formulas in rowkeys, just plain hard-coded id-s.
    Rowkeys:
    RESOURCE_A | P00 | =EVPRO(H2;K15;"PROPERTY_1")
    RESOURCE_A | P01 | =EVPRO(H2;K15;"PROPERTY_1")
    RESOURCE_B | P00 | =EVPRO(H2;K15;"PROPERTY_1")
    RESOURCE_B | P01 | =EVPRO(H2;K15;"PROPERTY_1")
Any suggestions or alternative solutions welcome.
    Many Thanks,
    MU

    Hi Madis Udam,
Instead of EVDRE, you can go for a static schedule wherein you need to use EVEXP for expanding the various dimension members.
Once expanded, use the list functionality of Excel to give a drop down for selecting those dimension members.
In addition to this, you need to write EVSND formula for sending values at the above dimension cut.
In case of clarification, revert back.

  • *FIXED* No sound and 'No Audio Device' in Control Panel. *FIX

I?m having a problem with my sound. Basically all I get is a system sound, which means no sounds from itunes but the error prompt sounds still play. I?m tempted to say that this is a detection issue because of several things:
-First, when looking in the ?sounds and audio devices? in the control panel I get grayed out selections and a ?no audio device?.
-Secondly, when running the directX diagnostic tool (typing ?dxdiag? in the ?run? window) I get several troubling indications. First under device I have no manufacturer or product ID. Second under drivers I have (copied from dxdiag text file):
    Driver Name: ctaud2k.sys
    Driver Version: 5.2.000.96 (English)
    Driver Attributes: Final Retail
    WHQL Logo'd: Yes
    Date and Size: 8//2006 4:45:38, 499584 bytes
    Other Files:
Seems hunky-doorey but then I have a note at the bottom that reads:
Sound Test Result: Failure at step 3 (DirectSoundCreate): HRESULT = 0x88780078 (No driver)
I have seen another similar post that seemed to have the same problem, but they didn?t provide much information and the fix was to pull out the audio card, run start up, turn it off, and then put it back in and run start up. If this is what needs to be done, could I have a picture or something of what the sound card looks like?
This problem started when I tried to update my sound card and since then my sound has been? possessed? or prone to working at sometimes and then (most of the time)failing at others.
Here is the dxdiag.txt file without the lengthy directShow filters and directx components:

I found that once you reinstall your sound card you need to make sure you hook everything back up correctly.
basically all you need to do is run a start up with your sound card out ofyou computer and then re-run start up with the card back in.

  • Want to disable display of column values in Selection Panel (11g)

In 11g, double-clicking on a column from the selection panel (under the Subject Areas heading) adds that column to the analysis. It also "expands" that column so that the first 20 values of that column are visible in the selection panel, immediately under the column that was double-clicked.
I don't want to see those first 20 values of the column pop up every time I add a column to the analysis by double-clicking. And although dragging the column into the analysis does not cause the popup behavior, dragging is not my team's preferred method of adding the column.
Is there a way to disable that expansion when double-clicking to add a column to an analysis?
I suppose it also means that we would be searching for a way to turn off the little plus sign next to each column as well. I don't want to EVER see those values.

I suppose you might want to know WHY I want this turned off.
One of my columns in the repository, Region, is defined as a concatenated text string that will be treated as HTML in Analytics. I see this when Region expands in the selection panel:
    <span title="Central: Smith ">Central</span>
    <span title="East: Jones ">East</span>
<span title="West: Graham ">West</span>When displayed on an analysis, I see Central, East, and West as the regions, as expected. The hover behavior for each region properly shows its title (Region+Manager) as well.
If the expanded display in the Selection Panel showed Central, East, and West, I wouldn't care. But because it shows the actual text for that column (the HTML string) it's rather confusing to the uninformed. Expanding it to include other tags would make the display almost useless unless you know some HTML. Even then, it's ugly.

  • How can I make an area of the front-panel have scroll bars?

I'm writing a VI that provides many options to the user. The front-panel is large and contains many controls ~130 of them, it's divided up visually to match the workings of the system the VI controls. One particular functional block has very many control options though these are rarely used. I can't fit all of the controls I need onto the screen area I have available.
What I would like is a way of making an area of the screen with scroll bars on it. I don't need any more than that, just an expansion of the front-panel area I have available. The "Sub-Panel" feature provides the scroll bars. But, a Sub-Panel is a way of accessing another VI, I don't want to do that. I could put the extra controls on the far-left or far-right of everything else and get the user to scroll the main scroll bars at the edges of the screen. The problem with that is that I it would mean couldn't lay out my front panel to match the system block-diagram as I have so far.
Does anyone know how to do this?
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

I know I can show the scroll bars at the edge of the VI. In my case that's not very useful. The front panel shows a block diagram of a system. It's made up of a set of clusters which control various parts of the system. I want to keep this layout because it's very useful in explaining to people new to the system how it works. I inherited that approach from a previous iteration of the program for an older system. The problem I have is that the new system has far more control parameters for one of the blocks. Unfortunately it's one of the blocks in the middle of the block diagram. If it were one at the left, right, top or bottom it would be no problem because the main scrollbars could be used.
I can use a tab-control, that's my fall-back plan. The problem is that would be abusing the purpose of the tab control. In a tab control each tab is supposed to deal with a group of controls that have a common connection. So, all the things in tab #1 are supposed to be connected in some way and all the things in tab #2 are supposed to be connected in some way. There not supposed to be a way of gaining more screen space.
The controls I'm dealing with are numeric controls, switches and rings.

  • Vertical Panel per page Problem for Form-type Reports

I have a notification form-like report consists of 5 pages so I set the vertical panel to 5 (so when it prints, there are actually 5 physical pages, but 1 logical page in the reports builder). Some fields will expand, their datatype is BLOB. And when they expand, there are now 10 physical pages (even if the expansion is caused by a half-page-long data) some with blank pages. What I expect to happen is that there are 5 physical pages (as originally set) and additional pages (let's say another 1 page) for the expansion. But is this possible, that we can limit the number of vertical panels for the expansion? Can anyone help me please...?

Has anybody experienced the same problem? Thanks in advance!

  • Uncontrolled expansion of a system slide control

I have two system slide controls (part of a larger cluster) that are getting longer by a few pixels every so often without me touching them on the front panel.  I don't know what this is correlated to (i.e. opening the .vi, running the .vi, etc.) but these slides are now running into the space for other controls and even their own digital displays.  My program does not change the position or sizing of these controls, however I do occasionally write to them through local variables and value references.
After noticing this issue, I tried programmatically keeping them down to size however there is an issue with this.  When the slide controls start to grow, their scales remain in place so there is a bit of a mismatch between the position on the scale and the corresponding label.  When I reduce the size by hand, or in the program, the scale similarly moves thus preserving this mismatch between the slide position and the label position.
The only fix I have found deleting the control and putting in a brand new one.  This is obviously not a tenable solution.  Does anyone have any ideas?  For reference, I'm using LabView 8.5 on the Mac but I had this problem with version 8.2 as well.
    Thanks!

    johnsold / Lynn
The slider control is within a cluster that is indeed a typedef from a custom control, yes.  However, I noticed this behavior in slider controls belonging to clusters that are not deposited from a custom control.  I have never found this expansion to occur in slide controls that were standalone variables.
I have included a .vi. that has the cluster of interest -- it would be difficult to include the cluster as part of the offending program.  I should mention that this slide expansion does not occur when the program is running, or even when the .vi is in memory.  I only notice this when LabView boots up and the .vi is first loaded.  In looking at this cluster now, the slide controls have expanded more than 10px on both ends.  Interestingly, i just noticed that they are getting taller too.  The scale on the bottom cluster is now starting to be clipped by the boundary of the cluster itself.
Any insight would be a great help.

  • IPhone 4S Back Panel Loose (Need Advise)

    Hello, everyone.
I would really appreciate if you will read whole message.
I’m Max. I live in Ukraine and as Apple doesn’t officially sell it’s phones here people frequently buy expansive imported iPhones (European, US or UK ones usually). And so I did. Obviously those are not covered by any of Apple’s policies or official warranty, if covered by anything at all. I mean here. So I ended up with new iPhone 4S from Italy with three (3) month of it-is-not-an-issue-pay-or-get-lost warranty.
Now, the problem is that phone’s back panel making sounds after a month of really intensive use (gaming, etc.): it clicks when pressed sometimes and it kinda knocks if tapped quite a bit. All the issues are within the area where battery resides. I don’t know what to think. It might be glue lost adhesive or something. I don’t want it to get worse.
At service point we tried tightening screws and resealing back, but accomplished nothing. Guy there told me that he can’t replace the panel because there are no visual defects or a single flaw he can consider as warranty case. Even part itself looked perfect to him. Of course device replacement simply isn’t an option too. I don’t feel like spending money myself either for now.
And what is interesting is that he shown me four or five iPhones (4s and 4Ss) currently in his service due to completely different reasons and all of them had gaps and loosen backs of different sorts, including really horrific ones. He said it’s quite a normal («normal» means most iPhones, in his opinion, have that flaw). I understand that all of them were used by different people under different circumstances.
So the question is how many iPhones (if any) experience such an issues? Maybe yours? How old phone was when it started? How many of your friends phones doing it? Please, do not answer if you’re not sure.
Note: it’s a real iPhone that I own, not a copy of any sort. Also, I’m acknowledged about camera lens rattling. It’s definitely not the case.

Either, is fine, but to avoid a possible long wait, make a Genius appointment. Here is link:

  • Firewire drives won't mount when front panel is in use

Does anyone else have this problem? My firewire drives (some, not all) will not mount when the firewire cable from my deck is plugged into the fron panel on my G5. Weird. When I unplug it, they instantly mount. I'm running 10.3.9, and I'm wondering if this is something that has been fixed in Tiger? Any other solutions?

stay away from belkin cards though, nothing but reported problems.
    www.macsales.com
    www.macgurus.com
both great places for products like these. i put a siig card in my g4 from macsales and i've never had a firewire related problem of any kind.
also, i see you use a g4, the apple discussion site for your computer is a great place to have expansion and other questions answered. be sure and do a search before posting.

  • Lync server 2010 control panel SoapException error

We had a multi-site installation of Lync 2010 up (2 FE servers, 2 back-end SQL servers, 1 director, 1 Group Chat) and running when suddenly (and no one has any explanation of what happened, of course) no one can logon the Control Panel.  Those in the
CsAdministrator group are flat out denied (not an RBAC denial) and new users added to the group received a SoapException (CS2001, CS2008) and a long, drawn-out explanation of why it failed:
An operation failed. System.Web.Services.Protocols.SoapException: Server was not able to process request.  System.InvalidOperationException: Unable to generate a temporary class (result=1)  Error CS2001: source file "c:\windows\temp\xxxx.cs"
could not be found  error CS2008: no inputs specified
At the same time, the Group Expansion is also no longer working and the Group Chat Lookup Service refuses to stay running (although I'm not sure this ever worked, given the other issues)...   I did find some blogs/articles that mention something
about the permissions on the C:\windows\temp folder for other products (FIM, Visual Studio) but not for Lync.  The installation is still in beta testing, so a complete re-do isn't beyond the scope of the install... just something I would rather avoid
    if possible.
    Suggestion? ideas? questions??
    Thanks for the pointers...

  • Controlling Front Panel LEDs

This is hopefully a simple problem, but I can't figure out what to search under.  I have a program with two loops (Z Only Test and Full Test in Tester Program v2).  They do not run at the same time.  I would like both loops to interact with an LED on the front panel (Testing).  How is this done?
Under Z Only Test, it works fine.  I tried to connect it to the sequence (Full Test), but it tells me I can't do that.  On odd sequences, for the most part, I would like to have the LED light (TRUE).  On evens, off.

Do you mean make the LED a shared variable?  How do you do that?  I clicked on it and changed it to a variable, but I thought that was like one of the others that I have.  I'll give it a try and see what happens.
I would assume whatever works for this would also work for numerical displays as well.
No.  I'm not even sure exactly what you mean by clicked on the LED "and changed it to a variable."
Right now you have only a single place where you use that LED.  It has a terminal node on your block diagram within a while loop.  I don't know how that fits into your overall program architecture as your VI is quite expansive.  (Two tips, 1.  Don't use stacked sequences.  2.  Look into a state machine architecture)
All that happens at that point is your read from a shared variable called "Testing".  I'm not sure from where else in your VI that you want to interact with that front panel indicator.  Or whether it will conflict with the already written piece of code.   I also don't know where this shared variable is written to. But the first idea is have the other sections of the code write to the shared variable and let this one update the front panel indicator.
The second idea is to create a local variable of the front panel indicator.  Right click on the terminal within your code and select Create / Local Variable.  But again, you will have to be careful with conflicts with the different portions of your code writing to the LED.  This is also known as a "race condition".
(Yes you can use either shared variables to store numeric data, or create local variables of numeric controls or indicators.)
I'm a bit nervous about your code.  It looks like you have a decent amount of LV experience as you have created quite a sophisticated VI there.  However, it doesn't seem like it is easy to expand or modify.  It takes up quite a bit of screen real estate.  It doesn't use any subVI's even though a lot of the code seems to be duplicated or very similar.  And it seems like it uses a lot of shared variables, probably more than necessary.

  • Hp p6367c front panel usb ports: how do I access these?

There is a button in front along the side that I assume is supposed to open the expansion bay and provide access to front panel usb ports, but nothing happens when I press this button.

Please look the upgrade and service manual page 13. You will notice the DVD drive, the empty 2nd CD/DVD bay, maybe the pocket drive (if so equipped). Below that is the mystery USB ports, and audio ports.
The panel likely has a small tab, and the access panel flips up, or slides up/down. Without knowing the exact face plate design, it's difficult to know. But if you look at the manual, the mystery will be exposed.
