Panel not dissolving on state transition

I have two states, both based on the base state. Very simple.
One has a panel and a button and the second has a panel and a
button. The transition effects seem to work OK on the buttons but
the panels seem to be impervious to any effect, they just cut in.
Is there something unique about panels? Do they have to be within
another component to accept a transition effect? Does someone have
simple code to dissolve between two states that includes a panel
that successfully dissolves?
Thanks much

  • Audio not dissolving with simple transitions

    Hi,
    I know was a topic posted a few years ago and I assume IMovie09 has a resolution I"m aware of. There was a lot of tralk abot having to extraxt the audio and re-sync it with the video and doing sep. audio effect cross fades for each transition? That's a longer process and some posted it didn't work,
    I'm doing a simple 25 minute timeline if some digital footage with dialogue. All the clips tranz together with a cross dissolve. BUT The audio is not mixing. It makes a stuttering, skipping sound for the duration of the transition 15 frames, or 25 frames, etc). Still happens after the project render or export to diff formats.
    Why is it doing this?
    Where is the setting I am missing that tells the audio to crossfade/follow with the video?
    Thanks

  • Problem with multiple sub-panels through Enum case structure: "The VI is not in a state compatible with this operation"

    Hello,
    I am using LabVIEW 8.0 and I am attempting to create a sub-panel that displays the front panel of a sub-vi depending on the selection made by the user via the Enum dropdown menu.  I have wired the Enum to a case structure and applied identical coding to each individual case structure except for obviously changing the sub-vi source.  However, I receive an error "The VI is not in a state compatible with this operation."  I was able to successfully make a single sub-vi work within a sub-panel using a true/false case structure and the exact same coding.  However, now that I am using an Enum box wired to a case structure, I receive this error.  I have attached my block diagram as well.  Could anyone assist me as to where it is that I am going wrong?
    Thanks in advance!

    I only see a picture. Can you attach the VI instead? At what point do you close the reference?

    Well, if the code is identical except for the source, only the source should be inside the case, right? Why duplicate code?

  • State transitions across components?

    Hi,
    I've been using Catalyst for a few days now to put together a "clickable mockup" of an app. Instead of working based on a comp, I'm creating the UI in Catalyst directly, using it's built-in components and creating a "wireframe" look. Works fine. I anticipate to work with more hi-fi comps.
    One thing I'm having trouble with, is making deep transitions between states from subcomponents.
    Imagine this setup:
    The app has two states/pages, "1" and "2". Inside each page, I have one component to represent all the states of that page. So for the first page, the internal component states would be 1-1, 1-2 and 1-3. Ditto for 2.
    So, now, let's say that in state 1-3, I have a button inside the component, where I want to transition to 2-2. Currently, it appears that there is no way for me to do that. When I click on the options in "Play transition to state" of the button, it shows me states 1 and 2, as well as 1-1 through 1-3, but it does not show the "child" states of "2".
    Is there any way to accomplish the transition from 1-3 to 2-2?
    Another version on the same problem: let's say I can somehow get from 1-3 to 2-2. Now, inside 2-2, I have a button that jumps back to "1". Currently, when I jump to "1", it jumps to whatever state 1 was in, which is 1-3 in my case, which is undesirable. It would be nice if I could somehow reset the component state on some event (showing, hiding, ...) to its default state, so that when people later jump back to it, it would start in its default state.
    I am familiar with ActionScript and XML and did poke around a bit. I see that in components, there is this kind of code:
      protected function Button_click_1_1():void
        mx.core.FlexGlobals.topLevelApplication.currentState='AppHome';
    I speculate that this lets me do what I need by editing code, and instead of topLevelApplication.currentState using topLevelApplication.someComponent.currentState... but I wanted to see if there is/will be another friendlier way of accomplishing this?

    Hi,
    Just my, hopefully helpful thoughts about how to render complex state transition much easier to understand, design and debug ...............
    Perhaps, initially for coders with a solid background in conditional logic, the inclusion of one or two design windows/panels providing the ability to design and display at least state transition diagrams and preferably also state transition tables, could be very helpful when trying to either design or understand complex, inter-related state transitions - actually, even relatively simple state-transitions with only five to seven objects, each with only three or four states to track concurrently, can be difficult to design, debug and test using just a mental model and memory to retain knowledge of the desired vs. actual state transition paths.
    Although I say "initially for coders", many years ago I taught both of these techniques successfully during software "design principles" courses that addressed software developers who's function was to prepare "design specifications" rather than actually write the code which, in those days, was the job of programmers rather than designers.  In fact many of my students were not programmers at all - for example analysts who used state transition diagramming techniques to design functions regardless of whether those functions would become implemented as code, or as a set of human actions, or mechanical machine operations (think pinball!).
    It should be possible using today's technoloy to be able to
        (a) generate code from a state transition table or a state transition diagram and
        (b) generate both forms of diagram from existing code (including the code autogenerated during visual design and
        (c) consistency check existing code automatically.
    It should be possible, using state transition table and diagram functions, to highlight structural logic errors.  How such highlighting should be done, for example:
        (a) using a classic state transition table or diagram or
        (b) generating some form of structured text report or
        (c) inserting colour-highlighted error messages in-line in the code or
        (c) some other more visual-designer-oriented signalling technique or
        (d) a combination of several of the above
    would be a design issue for Adobe.  This would not be a trivial exercise for Adobe, but the functionality would be reusable, i.e. transferable into other products.
    After all, the only reason for such tables or diagrams is to render complex state transitions understandable by humans, and these two techniques have proved extremely useful for many decades in many areas of design - programming, electronic circuit design, machine design, business process design......
    Re. Catalys, it's just a classic program design application, with some whizzy UI graphics that need to display, disappear, change colour, glow, shimmer, move, .... in predictable and desirable ways.
    The original pinball machines used mechanical relays to implement their underlying state transition diagrams; pinball designers needed to understand at least two things (a) complex state transitions and (b) a well designed UI. From this point of view, Catalyst looks like a pinball design panel!

  • Accordian panel not resizing between records

    I have a spry table on the left of my page and when you click
    a row the detail of the row will appear in an accordian to the
    right. The accordian has two tabs on it - the top one contains data
    that always fills the same height between records, but the lower
    one has data that changes in height between records.
    When I select a row and click on the lower tab for the first
    time the tab will expand to fit the data correctly. However, if I
    move to other rows in the table and leave the lower tab open, the
    accordian will not expand/contract to fit the new data - it stays
    the same height as the first row clicked. In order to get it to
    resize I have to click on the top tab of the accordian (therefore
    closing the lower tab) then reclick on the lower tab and it resizes
    correctly. I hope I have explained this correctly.
    If you'd like to see what I mean go to
    http://66.148.0.112/orderstatus/249000/test.asp
    and try it out for yourself.
    Simon

    Hello Simon,
    This problem appears because when you open a panel we are
    animating the transition from the element current height to 0px and
    the other way around by setting a gradual fixed height. Because of
    this the last height value used to animate will remain set to the
    element. When you change the content into the Panel, the Panel is
    no longer able to resize automatically. Unfortunately there is no
    solution to this issue other then to disable the animation by
    passing "enableAnimation" option to false into the constructor.

    Cristian

  • Triggering a state transition via time

    Something that comes up often for me is the need to jump from one state to another after a certain amount
    of time (as opposed to a user clicking on something).
    For example, lets say you are prototyping a search interface. The sequence is:
    1) The user fills in a form and clicks "Search"    (state 1)
    2) The UI displays a "searching" indicator for a few seconds (state 2)
    3) Search Results are displayed (state 3)
    Note that the user does not "click" anything to go from "state 2" to "state 3"; it happens
    automatically after some specified time.
    For the life of me I cannon figure out how to do this in Flash Catalyst gracefully. You can kind of fake it
    my fading things in the timeline, but this seems "hacky"; also, I cannot figure out how to fade something in AND
    fade something out in the same transition (to simulate state 2 above).
    Any suggestions?
    Thanks!
    Rob

    You can't do this in Catalyst; you have to add timer code in Flash Builder. And what totally sucks is that once you modify code in Flash Builder, you can't bring it back into Catalyst; it's a one way street

  • CSM : How to display state transitions ?

    Hi,
    Is there any way on the CSM to monitor the number of state transitions for real servers and virtual servers (like the show summary command on the CSS)? I don't find any information in the detail output of "show mod csm x real detail" or "show mod csm x vserver detail"
    Thank you,
    Yves Haemmerli

    Yves,
    there is no counter tracking this info.
    The CSM will log a message when a server goes down or up. You could save them on a syslog device and use a script to count transitions.
    A CSM command to use to detect if there was probe failures is 'sho mod csm X tech probe'. It counts total of probe [not per real] so.
    Gilles.

  • Could not find prepared statement with handle %.

    Greetings. I've seen several posts for this error on the web, but no clear cut answers. I captured the code below in profiler, with the intention of replaying in mgmt studio.
    However, the attempt end in the following error: "Could not find prepared statement with handle 612."
    declare @p1 int
    set @p1=612
    declare @p2 int
    set @p2=0
    declare @p7 int
    set @p7=0
    exec sp_cursorprepexec @p1 output,@p2 output,N'@P0 int,@P1 int,@P2 int,@P3 int,@P4 bit',N'EXEC dbo.mySproc @P0,@P1,@P2,@P3,@P4 ',4112,8193,@p7 output,219717,95,NULL,1,0
    select @p1, @p2, @p7
    Something noteworthy is that my sproc only has 5 input parameters, but this makes it look like it has many more.
    How do I manipulate the code enough to make it work in mgmt studio? Thanks!
    TIA, ChrisRDBA

    In profiler you would normally see RPC:Starting and RPC:Completed. The statement shown in RPC staring is what you need to pick because as Erland explained, completed would show "funky" behavior.

  • Anchor links to accordion panels not working properly across browsers

    Hi everyone,
    I need some help to figure out why my anchor links  to specific accordion panels on another page are not working properly  across browsers.
    I have a Map page which has tooltips on  mouseover on the site markers. 15 of the tooltips have "Click here for  information" anchor links (although only 14 are currently linked) which,  in theory, would take you to the Nurseries page where the specified  accordion panel would be opened with the nursery entry appearing at the  top of the new browser window.
    Here are the links to the Map page and Nurseries page, respectively:
    www.alegriadesignstudio.com/RFRI/map_v6.html
    www.alegriadesignstudio.com/RFRI/nurseries_v6.html
    I've  tested the anchor links on IE, Firefox, Google Chrome, and Safari, and  have received varying results. In most cases, the anchor links worked  perfectly on two of the browsers, while on the other browsers, the  correct accordion panel is opened but the nursery entry does not appear  at the top of the new browser window. Anchor links using Safari and  Google Chrome fared better (10 out of 14 links worked properly, and  8/14, respectively), whereas when using Firefox and IE, only 3 anchor  links worked properly. The target audience for this website will be  using IE and Firefox, so I  would appreciate any help to figure out how to tweak the code so that  the most, if not all, anchor links work properly on these two browsers  in particular.
    Here's an anchor link which worked perfectly in  IE, GC, and Safari, but in FF, the entry did not appear at the top of  the new browser window.

    Here's a sample anchor link in which the entry did not appear at the  top of the new browser window in any of the 4 browsers:
    www.alegriadesignstudio.com/RFRI/nurseries_v6.html?mindanao=4#magpetAmabel
    http://http://www.alegriadesignstudio.com/RFRI/nurseries_v6.html?mindanao=4#magpetAmabel [To access the anchor link on the Map page, go to "Mindanao" at the  bottom of the map and mouseover the fourth green  dot below the word "Mindanao" (Tooltip--LOCATION:        Brgys. Amabel, Bongolanon, Imamaling, & Manobisa; Magpet;        North Cotabato) and then  click on "Click here for information."]
    Here's a sample anchor  link in which the anchor link worked properly in GC and Safari, but the  entry didn't appear at the top of the browser window in IE and FF:
    www.alegriadesignstudio.com/RFRI/nurseries_v6.html?visayas=1#bilar
    http://http://www.alegriadesignstudio.com/RFRI/nurseries_v6.html?visayas=1#bilar [To access the anchor link on the Map page, go to the small island  north and a bit west of "Mindanao" which is called "Bohol" and mouseover  the fourth green  dot below the word "Mindanao" (Tooltip--LOCATION: Bilar; Bohol) and then   click on the first "Click here for information."]
    Many thanks in  advance for your assistance!

    Hi everyone,
    I'm still trying to figure out how to resolve the problem of anchor links to accordion panels not working properly across browsers (see original post for details). I would greatly appreciate any suggestions on how to resolve the problem.
    Many thanks in advance.

    You may need to delete the Firefox program folder before (re)installing the latest Firefox.<br />
    In case you still have problems after installing then check your security software.
    A possible cause is security software (firewall) that blocks or restricts Firefox or the plugin-container process without informing you, possibly after detecting changes (update) to the Firefox program.
    Remove all rules for Firefox from the permissions list in the firewall and let your firewall ask again for permission to get full unrestricted access to internet for Firefox and the plugin-container process and the updater process.

    Are you talking about a custom workspace, or actual panels made with Configurator?  If the former, then go Preferences > Sync settings.  If the latter, then those Flash panels no longer work in CC 2014.  Check out any of the multiple threads about Extensions being greyed out.

  • Is there a way to make state transitions/animations of a fl.control states - button for example ?

    Is there a way to make state transitions/animations of a fl.control states - button for example ?
    All I can do now is change the skin design and that's it, I can't animate between states like I can with Flash Builder skins. So is there a way to do that, any technique or I have to create a button component from scratch?
    Thanks!

    simplebuttons have upState etc properties you can use to assign movieclips to the 3 states.  you can use the currentFrame property of movieclps to (appear to) smoothly transition from one state to another.

  • Error: Could not resolve s:states to a component implementation.

    So I am trying to setup states on a Flex application I'm building, but it doesn't seem to want to compile. I get this error:
    $ ./build.sh

    Here is my build command nothing special ...
    $ cat ./build.sh
    #!/bin/bash
    mxmlc -output bin/uploader.swf src/uploader.mxml
    I have a class that extends the Spark application like so ...
    package com.uploader.controllers
        import spark.components.Application;
         dynamic public class FlashUploader extends Application
    Then in my main application mxml file I use it like so ...
    <?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8"?>
    <c:FlashUploader xmlns:fx="http://ns.adobe.com/mxml/2009"
        xmlns:s="library://ns.adobe.com/flex/spark"

        xmlns:v="com.uploader.view"
        xmlns:c="com.uploader.controllers.*"
        minWidth="709" minHeight="400"
        skinClass="com.uploader.skins.UploaderApplicationSkin">

        <!-- states -->
        <s:states>

            <s:State name="uploading" />
            <s:State name="normal" />

    Now when I try to compile I get the states error. I've found several examples and even made a dummy app just using the spark application and it compiles fine. Not sure if I'm doing anything weird here but the few other flex devs I know don't seem to see anything wrong with what I'm doing that could cause this.

    When you define an object using a namespace you have to use the same namespace for its properties, so you will want to use "<c:states>" instead of "<s:states>" in this case.
