Cannot stop a HP6500A Plus wireless print.

I cannot stop a document printing on my hp 6500A Plus wireless printer once it has started to print.  I have to wait till each page tries to print, then press the red X to the right of the printer display window multiple times to kill that page print.  I have to do this procedure 75 times to stop a document print of a 75 page document..  It acts like the wireless prints every page separately, so I have to kill each and every page untill all pages have been 'killed'.  Stoping a print can take 15 to 20 minutes of such effort.  HELP!

I forgot to add the HP 6500 was installed for wireless printing from a Windows 7 64 bit computer. My prints are usually from PowerPoint presentations.

    Oh..Yes. It worked. !!
Thanks Jack for your inputs, that helped a lot.
The issue was not with the printer, but that the PDF document itself was a secured PDF document.
I tried copying the document from my pc to mac and tried to open the document and what i saw was exactly what got printed earlier in my first post.  Tried attaching to my email and when downloaded, the document had just those text that got printed (also pasted below).
Finally got it working when directly printed from the pc over wireless(or wired). Looks good now .

  • Officejet Pro 8600 Plus wireless printing dilemma

    Hello,
I recently purchased the Officejet Pro 8600 Plus for my dorm room in college. However, the school requires all devices that want to use its wi-fi to register their IP addresses through detection software in addition to the default log-in information just to use the wi-fi. Now, here are the items I currently have:
    - the printer itself
    - the printer USB cable
    - a few ethernet cables
    - a personal router
    - an ASUS wireless dongle (plugs into PCs via USB, has ethernet port but the device itself can create a hotspot and its own "network")
    - one of the built-in school routers (high up on the wall)
The question is, is there a way I can set up any type of wireless printing in my dorm room? Is it possible to buy two wireless USB attachments that hook up wirelessly to my printer and computer, acting like bluetooth? Thank you!

Range extender improves the signal strength and cover a bigger area, but adds an extra layer of communication so will have slower response. It helps connecting devices far apart, but may cause delay and "loss" of communication, especially "two way" communication which is the problem you are experiencing.

  • EA6500 stopped being recognized by wireless printer

Last week, my EA6500 stopped being recognized by my wireless Canon printer.  The laptops and ipad can still see the router.  How do I fix this?  I have tried router power off, and, complete reconfigure as if new.  Has not fixed the wireless printer issue.  THe printer can see other networks
Also, one suggestion was to do a 'reconnection' to the printer by first pressing a wps button.  Does the EA6500 have this button?

    Hi jjohnsen8!
In my case, what I did was disable the Simple Tap feature on the router. It's also running on 2.4 GHz so it may have interferred to the network. On the Linksys Smart WiFi, click on Wireless >> Simple Tap >> the select OFF.

  • Can't setup ePrint / Web Services on a new HP 8600 Pro Plus Wireless Printer

I just purchased a new HP Officejet Pro 8600 Plus All in one printer. I setup the printer on my home wireless network and it prints great. I am now trying to setup ePrint and when I go through the option to setup the Web Services /ePrint function on the Printer or via the web application for the printer I get the following error:
    "Cannot connect to the server.
Check the Internet connection and try again. Or contact your system administrator or the person who set up the printer. If your network requires a proxy server address to connect to Internet, click Enter Proxy or check your browser settings."
My primary PC is running Windows 7 Home Premium with Svc Pac 1, 64 bit
My home network is set for DHCP and I do not have a Proxy Server setup but the Web Services setup page is asking for a Proxy Server an Port.
I have already established a ePrint ID but cannot complete the process until I can get the Printer Web Services setup process to complete.
    Any suggestions?

    HI Adrianf;
Hope you are doing well, welcome to the community,
I wil take several steps to make sure they are not causing the issue,
     Try this tool Click here
I will also set an static ipaddress for my printer and change the DNS servers provided by your ISP to Google DNS servers
How to set an static IP address
Follow these steps to assign an unchanging static IP address to the product through the Embedded Web Server (EWS).
Open a new Web browser window.
Type the IP address located on the Network Configuration Page in the address bar of the Web browser, using http:// to begin the address e.g. http://192.168.0.1  Then press Enter .  The EWS home page for the product opens.
In the EWS screen, click the Network tab.
Click Wired (802.3) , and then click the IPv4 Configuration or the IPv6 Configuration tab.
Click Manual IP . The Manual IP Address box opens.
In the Manual IP Address box, type an IP address with the same values in the first three sets of digits (subnet values) as the product's IP address (listed on the Network Configuration Page), and a higher value (between 1 and 254) in the fourth set of digits. This creates a static IP address on the same subnet, but outside the Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol (DHCP) range.
For example, if the product's original IP address is 192.168.0.1 , assign the static IP address to 192.168.0.200 .
    NOTE:
Do not type the static IP address use as the example. Enter a static IP address based on the IP address for your product. This can be found on network configuration page.
Enter the Subnet Mask and the Default Gateway settings as they appear on the Network Configuration Page.
Click OK to save the new settings, and then click Exit or close the browser to exit the EWS.
    While you are here in the IPV4  you can set the DNS servers of google instead of the DNS servers provided by your ISP  just change the option of automaticly select DNS server and use this;
DNS servers of google are 8.8.8.8 and alternative DNS 8.8.4.4
Make sure that the operating system is updated, that the routers firware is the lastest.
    Hope it helps and best of luck;
    RobertoR

  • My ipad 2 cannot find my hp 4500 wireless printer?

My Ipad 2 can no longer find my hp 4500 wireless.  It was working but stopped??  I recently upgraded to OS 5.1, any suggestions?

    John-
I do not see your HP 4500 printer listed at <http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4356>.  Are you using a printing App like Print n Share?  If so, its ability to print from within other Apps was broken by iOS 5.  (Unless the other App has the "Open In" option.)
The only alternative I know of, is to share your computer's printer as AirPrint over WiFi.  If you want to try it, search the web for AirPrint Activator.

  • Cannot use BOTH HP 8600 wireless printer pro in office and home

I bought the same unit so I could interchange cartridges and parts as well as the ease of software, the home printer works fine wireless, but does not work at the office. The only way that it can be used is to plug in the ethernet cable and that defeats the reason that I bought it. Many are plugged in since this has an office with Mac and such that all feed into.

    Hi UCRToledo,
Welcome to the HP support forums. I understand that the Officejet Pro 8600 you have in your office will not maintain a wireless connection.
I have included a trouble shooting document for when the printer doesn't maintain a wireless connection. It has a section dedicated to many common causes of why the printer would be unable to maintain a wireless connection. I have also included a link to your user guide. There is a section dedicated to wireless problems starting on page 138.

  • Hi, I have an HP Officejet 6500a Plus wireless printer and I am getting an error code 0X61011BED.

My printer shows an error code 0x6101bed and when it tries to print the is a very loud clicking sound that lasts about 2-3 seconds before the paper jam error shows up. I've looked in the machine but I do not see any paper jammed anywhere. What could be the problem and how can I fix it.

    Hi,
If you think it is coming from the "clicking noise", it could be cartridge carriage related.  Especially, as the carriage moves side to side.  Since your printer is only two weeks old, if it were me... I'd call the tech support center at 1-800-HPINVENT.  They might have additional troubleshooting to try.  Generally, the 0x error messages have to do with the cartridges and show up on the front panel during printing and resets typically take care of error message.

  • MacBookPro cannot find my HP wireless printer.

I have a HP8600 Plus wireless printer. I recently bought a new airport extreme, which is working ok. When I try to reconfigure my printer, my Mac cannot find it. Report says I should disable MAC address. How do I do this?

From the Canon website: "Printer firmware update is necessary for AirPrint function. Certain exception may apply. AirPrint functionality requires an iPad, iPhone 3GS or later, or iPod touch 3rd generation or later device running iOS 4.2 or later, and an AirPrint-enabled printer connected to the same network as your iOS device.  A printer connected to the USB port of your Mac, PC, AirPort Base Station, or Time Capsule is not supported. "
Sounds like you need to update the firmware.

  • Can I set up a wireless printer as a network printer and not use Airport?

I have a HP Photosmart Plus wireless printer set up in my network for use by several iPods, iPads, and iPhones.   I have an iMac running 10.6.8 that I want to set it up on, but to use it as a regular network printer, not using Airport.  Is this possible?  I haven't been able to hit on the right combination of settings.  I have a Samsung laser printer that works this way, and an Epson that is attached to an Airport Express, but all I get on the HP is garbage.  It will work when I set it up using the HP install disk, but I have to use Airport and I don't always get a good signal where the iMac is located.  I would prefer to use  the wired connection to my router and access the HP's IP address, like a wired network printer.     Any suggestions?

I'm using a Canon printer here which is networked via my Airport Express.  My printer cannot be Wi fi enabled simultaneousely with an ethernet cable connection. It is either or.  I realise that this doesn't fully answer your question, but I just wanted to give you a clue.  You'd need to consult your owners manual, or HP to get a definitive answer.
If you want to use the HP printer printer only with the wired ethernet connection to your router, that should be no problem as long as it is ethernet capable.
After setting it up for wired ethernet capability, you will need through the sequence of powering your router down, and resetting you Lan network so the router and printer can pick up their respective IP assignments.

  • I had a problem with connection with wireless printer, I had to delete. But I cannot install back. Printer HP officejet 6700

Please anybody can help me with installation of HP officejet 6700 on MacBook Air.
It stopped working, I could not find printer to connect, therefore I had to delete but I cannot install back again.

So the printer is no longer shown in the System Preferences > Print & Scan window?  If you haven't already, you can power the printer off and on, then try to set up the wireless connection again and see if MBA recognizes the printer.
You'll need to provide us with more info so we can try to help.
