Paperless Billing and Price Increases

We save BT a fortune in terms of both money and time in going paperless. The reward we now get is to have this allowance removed in the latest round of charges!! i.e. effectively a type of underhand increase.
I can of course send BT £120 by way of an upfront payment to influence my line rental rates and if enough customers do this they make a fortune from interest payments.
I could on the other hand, since there will not be any financial benefit, revert back to insisting upon a paper bill send by post. If we all did this I am sure that BT might well wish to reconsider the matter.
It is also interesting to note that whilst BT are happy to e-mail their customers with details of increased charges they have created a facility whereby it is almost impossible to reply by the same medium.
Welcome to supposed customer care in the electronic age!

Ernie valid point however unfortunately im one of the few who upgraded in august with no knowledge of the impending price hikes and removal of the paperless billing "reduction" and not one iota of it was mentioned during the renewals process (given the forums posts the staff knew of the price hikes at the time of sale but neglected to notify) ,
They also tie you in , You see it on the forums
They are hiking most landline prices but if you have just ONE service thats not increasing inprice it brings it all crashing down , esp as They are Hiking phone line rates but anyone closing a bt phoneline with broadband/vision are getting hit with huge cancellation bills because of it. Some service such as unlimited calls etc have also been seen to be causing the same issues.
So the question is , was it honest sales when they sell product at X price but are fully aware that price will only be valid for 3 - 4 months of the contract and don't notify the customer of the hikes? and how many others like myself signed recent renewals and have been caught in the same trap ?

  • Totally at the end of my tether with bill and pric...

New to this but totally at my wits end over it. I rang BT end of Dec and asked to be put on the anytime price plan as they were going to charge me £32 a month from £24.50 a month as I was making daytime calls.
I simply asked if I could clear my account and then be put on an anytime plan from Jan. I was told I owed £7.75, queried this but they insisted it was correct. I wrote a cheque for £7.75. Got letters after sayin I would be paying £17.50 anytime plan which was a £2 reduction for being with BT for a while. Then got a letter they would take £20 a month from me. I rang and then got told it would be £17.50 as we had agreed. They had received my cheque.
Now my latest bill says I am £50.45 in debit and from April will be charged £31.50 a month. yet other parts of the bill says I will be paying £19.50 from Feb to May with a £2 reduction.
I need a degree to understand the bill. Numerous phone calls and I still cannot understand it all HELP, its taking over my life trying to sort it. How fantastic it would be if you could help me.

You're right - the bills can be terribly difficult to fathom.
First things first, the £17.50 basic charge is correct (line rental £14.60 + Anytime calls £4.90 - £2 discount).  But your monthly payment ought to be a bit more to cover chargeable calls, unless you're absolutely sure not to make any.
Your bill should be in 4 sections:
    1. Your starting credit, hopefully a minus figure. This is the payments you have made since the previous bill, adjusted by any credit or debit brought forward.
    2. Your basic charges. This is in advance and should be 3 x £17.50 = £52.50, but there may be items brought forward.
    3. Additional charges. Obviously, this is what you used above your basic charges.
    4. The bottom line.
If you paid £17.50 a month and there were no other factors, your bill would show payments of £52.50 in section 1, charges of £52.50 in section 2, and zero in sections 3 & 4.
But, as you rightly surmised, to get a bill like that you would need to start with a zero balance, and that clearly has not happened. I'm guessing that the £50.45 debt is the bottom line on your latest bill, in which case it will not relate to advance charges as suggested by oldie68. It is a debit; if it is correct your future monthly payments would have to cover it, and an extra £14 a month against a debit of £50 is not unreasonable.
If you can post details of your latest bill (with any personal information deleted) we could try to unpick it for you to see if it is correct.

  • Line Saver Rental and Paperless Bill Saving

    Hi
It says on the Line rental saver that if you sign up you lose your saving for your paper free billing discount.  This ultimately reduces any saving/benefit by £15 per year.
Can you tell me once the line rental saver contract period ends is the paper free billing discount reinstated.
    C

Currently i have the unlimited anytime plan, which is NOT subject to an auto renewing contract, i currently pay cash quaterly , what i want to know is: if i decided to get line rental saver from £113  would this change anything with my calling plan such as start a new contract term ? btw i am aware that i would need to sign up for paperless billing and pay for call & calling play by direct debit quarterly or monthly

However, the only reason I was considering adding Sky Sports 1 & 2 was for the live F1 coverage lost from the BBC next year.
Just checked the Sky website and not the F1 races will be on a new dedicated channel available to Sky Sports 1&2 or Sky HD subscribers.
I can't see the channel being made available to BTV Sky Sports subscribers, but will need to look closer.
Don't want to give anything to the evil Murdoch empire and hate F1 for selling out.
In that case there is no point in looking to add Sky Sports 1 & 2, because most of what you will pay for them goes back to the Evil Murdoch Empire

  • Price increased with no explanation. trying to cancel now and can't get in touch with support.

how can i cancel my account? the price increased and i have no idea why. i want to cancel account and can't get in touch with anyone in support. my account shows that i have a free cloud membership ... so nothing to select to cancel ... but I've been using for more than a year AND getting charged to credit card for more than a year. Anyone know what the hang is going on and/or how to cancel?
    thx

The monthly charge was $30/month for the first year and went up to $50/month or something similar so the price increase was not without explanation you’ve just forgotten about it or never read the small print when you signed up, which is understandable.
Not having an active subscription could be that you’ve already successfully cancelled the plan, somehow.  The important thing is whether you can see any billing and/or payment transactions associated with your AdobeID, and whether you’ve been getting monthly e-mails when each payment is made or when the subscription renewed—like I do.
It’s the weekend in the US.  You may have more luck with this sort of issue during normal business hours weekdays in the US when the most Adobe staff are at work in the US.  I mean if there was some sort of data-glitch for your account then weekend staff in India may not understand enough about how everything works to get it figured out.  At least you got some answers and it being an introductory price.

  • Price conversion base on billing frequency and price frequency

We have a business scenario - an unlimited subscription billed annually, price condition record set monthly, i.e. for subscription for product for one month cost £100, and bill annually.  We need to have automatic price conversion to achieve subscription price of : 12 x £100 = £1200.
We set up a yearly billing frequency, and monthly price frequency, added this matching entry in IMG-> maintain billing procedures for subscriptions.   Our pricing structure (key combination) is: publication/edition/price frequency, £100 for price frequency "monthly".  Then we created a subscription with yearly billing frequency, and expect the price to be 12 X £100 = £1200.  However, we could not see this conversion work.  The order just simply retrieve £100 price based on the coniditon record with access to publication/edition/price frequency (value "monthly" is retrieved in access sequence to find condition record).
Based on SAP help document, this functionality should be standard (attached), but it is not working.
Pleaes advice how to make this happen?  Anything i set up in config or price condition record that is wrong? Many thanks.
    Hailan.
    SAP help doucmentation:
The price frequency is used to record subscription prices in the master data for conditions. The price freqnecy for which a price is maintained can differ from the billing frequency of the subscription. An automatic conversion takes place during pricing.

    Hi,
Maintain price frequency = 1 Month and billing frequency = 12 mnths.
Then assign price freq. to billing freq.
In ur case i think both price freq. and billing freq. are 1 Month.

    Rajesh

  • Detail of legacy license and future price increases

    Legacy Licence:
I currently have a licenced retail copy of Photoshop CS6 that would allow me a reduce rate for 12 months membership of Creative Cloud.
If I took up this offer and in 12 months time decided not to renew Creative Cloud membership which of the following happens.
    1. I can re install (or re-enter the code of) My old Photoshop CS6 and continue to use it on my desktop and laptop just as now
    2. Taking up the Creative Cloud offering terminates my license in some way to use my retail Photoshop CS6 and I will not be able to use it.
    Future price increases:
Have Adobe released a statement detailing how they propose to increase charges for Creative Cloud in future years?
Which of the following is true:
    1. Increases will be in line with inflation with no sudden large price hikes.
    2. Adobe do not rule out larger than inflation increases in cloud membership
Hope these questions dont sound too paranoid, a clear answer to both these questions will help both myself and my clients determine their response to Creative Cloud membership.

    Hi Ken,
Thanks again for the rapid reply.
I do appreciate that you may not be in the loop on this but it is a concern for myself and my clients.
The good news is that upper management will know as its their duty to plan for such things. They may decide not to let me or you know what those plans are in which case we would need to infer the likely reason for non disclosure.
Lets not run ahead of things however!, I think it only fair to allow management time and space to answer this question.
Just to clarify: current and future pricing was top of my mind when I saw the Creative Cloud offering, future price increases were a concern for some of my clients also, it is not a trivial question and is best answered by someone who does determine pricing plans. It will significantly influence the decisions of myself and my clients (and no doubt many other users) if we can get a clear understanding of price increase principals for Creative Cloud.
    Many thanks

  • Increase decimal places in the PO quantity and Price

    Hi All,
Can the decimal places in the PO( ME21N) creation be increased more than 3 decimal places in quantity and price?
I did changes in UOM's in CUNI, I increased the decimal places upto 14 but still it does not take more than three i-e., 0.001 maximum.
Is there any other way to handle this?
    Request inputs on this.
Note 569326 - ME9F: Customized decimal places are not taken into account........ found this OSS but this correction instruction is not for our pack level ECC 6.0
    Best regards,
    Sridhar

    hi
In case if you are already working in production remember that decimal places should not change. It will affect all previous data.
For your problem best solution is make order unit as 1000. So that your problem will solve
e.g. instead of 2.009 inr for 1 Unit use 2009 inr for 1000 unit.

  • Paperless billing discounts

Is the quarterly discount of £3.75 for paperless billing being scrapped at the same time as the introduction of the December price increases?
    Anyone know why?

    i8lufc wrote:
Great, getting scr*..d again, not as if they don't make massive profit already
Anyone who was on our paper-free discount could benefit from our Line Rental Saver deal. You can cut your line rental from £14.60 a month to £10 a month by paying upfront for a year. That's over £50 a year off your bill. Sign up here.
(you have to stick to e-billing.)
We're making some changes to the prices of our products and services from 3 December 2011. We're putting up standard monthly line rental by 70p, removing the paper-free discount, and changing some call charges, as well as changing the prices for broadband and some other services. You'll find all the details here.
We know no one likes it when prices go up. That's why we've kept the rises as low as we can and the cost of more than half of our products and services won't change at all.
On top of that, the cost of standard monthly line rental, calls to UK* landlines and our Unlimited Anytime Plan won't rise again until 2013.
Yes that is correct, Line Rental Saver requires you to use paperless billing.

  • Multi-Room DVR price increase

Just received a letter from Verizon stating that on 7/15/12, my 3 room multi-room DVR package will increase from $29.99 to $33.97.  In the letter they said, "We are working right now to build a more exciting product, with even more TV channels in HD and new equipment in the home to allow you to view your favorite programs on all your screens".    Does anyone have any idea what these exciting new features are and what new HD channels are they referring to?  You would think they would roll out these new features and channels before increasing the price.

I called them about the price increase to find out the reason...the girl re-read me the message that appeared on my bill stating that they are now charging $2 more per box, so when I said, ok so the price just increased for no reason? And she said, yes ma'am.  Nice... why did I sign a contract?

  • How to handle effect of sales price increase in already invoiced sales

Our customer is dealing with parts made by metal. As metal prices are fluctuating, Customer need to raise prices of products. In some cases as the customer of customer take time in approval of prices increase, when our customer receives approval from his customer, he generates supplimentary bill, which is actually the price difference between old price and new price.
The issue is in this scenario,  material movement is not involved, so in SAP B1 if we take the same item which was supplied to customer earlier, then inventory will not allowed.
Request to suggest the correct process to record the accounting and tax effect in case of price difference case.
    Samir Gandhi

    samir,
    Direct Solution,
1.Reverse the ar invoice by ar credit memo.
2.Create a new delivery for customer with new price.
    3.Raise ar invoice.
There is a work around as below,
1.Create a excisable item master as Item Code Supp.Inv.
2.Do goods receipt for item with qty as 1 and unit price
as total price difference(for all items) post good receipt to inventory account (to inventory account impact happens in case of delivery).
3.Do delivery for customer with qty as 1 and price difference
as unit price and with reqd. excise tax code.
4.Do Outgoing ex. invoice frm delivery
    5.Raise ar invoice frm delivery.
Hope this solution will solve the problem.

  • Price Increases - Any Notification?

Does anyone get notices of price increases in advance?  I found my TV service bill increased this billing cycle. I don't recall seeing any notice of an upcoming price increase, and the latest bill shows new charges due to taxes & fees but fails to mention that they are the result of a new higher cable TV price. While a minimal change for my little plan, this is still very frustrating. Furthermore, I am dismayed that Comcast does not appear to provide any support that is not via the telephone, i.e. chat or e-mail, so unless I want to spend untold amount of time on the telephone, which usually ends up being a very long & very painful process, the best I can do is post in a forum?

As a comcast basher (due to their practices and denials) I will  dispute a segment of your  comments. I have used their  chat services while vacationing in  Spain and found the individuals i communicated with to be some of the best/intelligent I have dealt with @ the big C.. The billing is like the temperature outside.. up/down..then they have the audacity to state you had enrolled in a year plan and your term is up thus the higher billing.. I asked if they could produce a signed/ and or a voice recording of my so called agreement..NO was the reply..However I have experienced great customer service  from the individuals at the corporate office. One may not get the result you desire, BUT they listen, research, call you back..which  is gigantic upgrade from the field office and the  ROBOTIC reps . PLUS they can hold a conversation  and make you feel like they care about your plight... Our development is obtaining ideas for our new contract with comcast, I will suggest they have an office here as they are frequent visitors for repairs in the development.. Bythe way the service calls are now 70.00 and everything will be your fault(wiring-equipment etc... GREAT PRODUCT< HORRIBLE SUPPORT FOR THE CUSTOMER

  • Price Increases from 1/12/2014

Just received a letter and leaflet from BT detailing the price increases.
Are BT trying to make pricing so complicated that we will not be able to understand them?
They are introducing an additional line rental called Line Rental Plus which will have additional facilities and cost an additional £2 a month. Those who are not paying by direct debit will be transferred to this package with no choice. They are however ending the £2 processing fee for those nor paying by direct debit. Seems to be a con way of charging those not paying by direct debit more!!
I can not find any mention in the letter or leaflet about Caller Display. When the price increases were published last year a charge for Caller Display was introduced but it remained free if a new 1 year contract was taken out.
Looking on BT website I can find no mention of charges for Called Display other than last years announcement.
So what is the position this year? Are there charges for Called Display and if so where can we find details?
    Regards
    Peter

Companies like BT have been over-complicating their prices for years.  What bugs me about the letter is that it's personally addressed to me, yet only lists some of the price rises that apply to me.  I then have to visit their web site to discover the rest of them.  Even that's not totally transparent, as I have to follow another link and enter my account details to find the last few price rises.  There may be a lot of surprised customers in December who find that their bills have gone up by a lot more than they were expecting.
The caller display is still free if you agree to a 12 month phone contract.  So when your current contract ends, they will start charging.  You then have to agree to a new contract to get it free again.  It's BT's trick to lock customers into endless rolling contracts that you can only get out of once a year - or twice when you count the option to cancel whenever BT announce their latest price rises.

  • LogMeIn Central price increase - AGAIN!

So we started with central back in 2013.  The "intro" price, I'm now being told I paid, was $200 for the year, unlimited machines. In 2014, we found out we were being charged $1500 for central as we're over 500 computers.  No notice, no heads up, nothing.  Found out by accident.  I called my rep (We used LMI rescue for probably 10 years now) and they offered to renew us for $500 for the year.  MANY MANY others online had the same situation, though many were just charged and asked questions later.  Never found anyone that received an email from LMI about the price increase. As our 2015 renewal approaches, we received an email from LMI letting us know of our renewal date.  No mention of price.  I replied back that we're not committing at this time as we're looking at other products due to pricing and how 2014 was handled.  Receive a call from the rep and as we're talking about price, she informs me we're already on a "promo" price.  This promo price is $1900 and change as we're at the 500-1000 machine level.  WHAT?!  What are you talking about?  I was told renewal would be $1500.  Oh no - we have new products, etc.  You're in the basic plan, which is $2500/year for 500-1000 machines, but we're giving you a promo of $1900 and change (If memory serves.) She insists we received an email (Just like all LMI central users) on 12/14.  No email.  Again.  This is the second year of this excuse. So - from 2013 to 2015, we'll be experiencing an 850%+ increase.  From 2013 to 2016, we'll experience an 1150% increase.  No new features we've used/experienced in this time. Remind me why I should renew with you?

I have 5 computers on LMI, 3 of my own (1 with Pro), and 2 at clients.  4 are actually online now.  Same crap.  I paid the $150 for the 50% discount to keep access with Central last year.  I received no email about their intentions this year, but just found they want to upgrade me without my permission to LMI Central "Pro" for 25 machines, for a "discount price" of $553.  I just happened to need to help a client on X-mas eve, and saw the banner with the following message: Introducing the new and improved LogMeIn Central with three versions (Basic, Plus and Premier), each designed to provide specific features and capabilities to meet customer needs. In order to maintain your level of service and keep the features you need and use most, your account will automatically renew as Central Plus.Your Central Plus subscription includes 25 computers at a price of $553.43. This price reflects a promotional discount off our list prices for the first year. Any unused portions of existing Pro subscriptions have been applied to this renewal price. For a detailed breakout of your pricing please refer to the Subscriptions page under the Account Menu. All changes take place upon renewal. No action is necessary on your part. If you have any questions regarding these changes or want to learn about pricing options and discounts on other Central packages, please contact Customer Support. I was actually considering keeping the LogMeIn Central and my Pro machine.  That's around $365 for something I use maybe once or twice a month.  With them changing products and pricing and NOT NOTIFYING ME, except by way of an innocent looking banner when I logged-in today, I'm sorry, but I can't help but be totally offended by their actions.  Some other guy posted that he has 95 computers and they wanted to charge him *LESS* than me, and he was outraged.  I've had my house burglarized before.  At least those when those theives hit, I knew it happened.  These guys have my credit card - this is more like a drive-by shooting - wouldn't have even known until i got hit with the bill.  Who's running this company, the mafia?
