Detail of legacy license and future price increases

Legacy Licence:
I currently have a licenced retail copy of Photoshop CS6 that would allow me a reduce rate for 12 months membership of Creative Cloud.
If I took up this offer and in 12 months time decided not to renew Creative Cloud membership which of the following happens.
1. I can re install (or re-enter the code of) My old Photoshop CS6 and continue to use it on my desktop and laptop just as now
2. Taking up the Creative Cloud offering terminates my license in some way to use my retail Photoshop CS6 and I will not be able to use it.
Future price increases:
Have Adobe released a statement detailing how they propose to increase charges for Creative Cloud in future years?
Which of the following is true:
1. Increases will be in line with inflation with no sudden large price hikes.
2. Adobe do not rule out larger than inflation increases in cloud membership
Hope these questions dont sound too paranoid, a clear answer to both these questions will help both myself and my clients determine their response to Creative Cloud membership.

Hi Ken,
Thanks again for the rapid reply.
I do appreciate that you may not be in the loop on this but it is a concern for myself and my clients.
The good news is that upper management will know as its their duty to plan for such things. They may decide not to let me or you know what those plans are in which case we would need to infer the likely reason for non disclosure.
Lets not run ahead of things however!, I think it only fair to allow management time and space to answer this question.
Just to clarify: current and future pricing was top of my mind when I saw the Creative Cloud offering, future price increases were a concern for some of my clients also, it is not a trivial question and is best answered by someone who does determine pricing plans. It will significantly influence the decisions of myself and my clients (and no doubt many other users) if we can get a clear understanding of price increase principals for Creative Cloud.
Many thanks
Stephen Johnson

  • Material Standard and Future price

I would need to extract the material standard and Future price ( with effective date). I am aware that this information will be stored in MBEW table. Is there any extractor that would give us this information ?
I tried 0CO_PC_ACT_05. This would give us only price types ( P01 and P02 i.e Standard and MAP).
Is the custom DS is the only option ? Do i need to enhance 0material Infoobject by including the Standard price, Future price and Effective Date fields ?
    Any help is highly appreciated.

    Hi,
Yes, there is no other data source as per your needs.
You need to enhance your standard data source(0CO_PC_ACT_05).
please check your info 0material have those fields at ecc side. check at RSA6 or table ROOSFIELDS.
Above fields if you need at reporting level then you  need to enhance 0material_Attr and mark those info objects as navigational attr. so that you can use them at bex level to play with filters or free chars.

  • Why is it difficult to get a straight answer on future price increases for the PS CC $9.99 offer

I own CS6 and am happy with it. I have been a PS user since the second version so I have extensive experience with updates and the value I seek. I am an advanced amateur so this is a hobby, not a profit source and Adobe needs to consider us. No one wants to buy a product that can continue to increase in price indefinetly after they already own one or can find substitues. The curret offer is more expensive than upgrading every other time (or when there is a great new feature   ) as I normally do. Taking into consideration that the current base pricing for new contracts for PS CC is $20 per month forever it is much more expensive and rise to even more unreasonable heights.
Adobe should freeze the pricing for the $9.99 offer for 5 years (or commit to limit increases to a nominal amount) and consider this approach a steady annuity and as a way to secure existing hobbyists.  They have created a great deal of ill witth thier move to CC without a any real benefit to the customers.

Noel you make somevery  good points.
We never knew what the price of the next upgrade for the perpeual license was to be but if we did not upgrade our cameras then we had perfectly working software, Adobe of course tried to force the issue when issuing new versions of Raw (and excluding previous versions of PS) to many people's annoyance. But that is the Adobe we know....
They could certainly commit to freezing the price as much as we could commit not to buy in on CC or in past not to buy into an upgrade if the new features were not that great. They needed to delight us into giving them our cash.Sadly I don't think they have realloy ever felt that way and although they have  innovated within the program and its interface are strating to show it's years (it is more like  Windows than any cool app) and DSLR photography is headed in the same  direction as Kodak. I am a skilled user and recomend it to anyone wanting to improve their work but I love it enough to konw its limitations.
We can cancel as you siggest but we are left with nothing with CC.  I still own and can use PS6 if I don't like their new deal which is worse for them than getting a steady stream of tens for a known timeframe. It is one way of looking at it and maybe not their cup of tea but I think they should consider it.
Not many people take the time to master PS and among the kids I know not many think they need to go past their phone and a coulple of apps. Maybe we are all heading in that direction.

  • OAF license and future

    Hi,
I have three questions which need to be answered as soon as possible.
    1. OAF license: does OAF come with Oracle E-business suite? Do we need to purchase it if we want to develop interface application using OAF.
    2. OAF future: does OAF will still be the technology in the Oracle Fusion?
    3. Learn OAF: we have a small application which will have 10 screens and need to be developed in 6 month. We have 2 tech people with Oracle form experience. Do you think we can finish this application on time?
    Thank you for your time!

  • Price increased with no explanation. trying to cancel now and can't get in touch with support.

how can i cancel my account? the price increased and i have no idea why. i want to cancel account and can't get in touch with anyone in support. my account shows that i have a free cloud membership ... so nothing to select to cancel ... but I've been using for more than a year AND getting charged to credit card for more than a year. Anyone know what the hang is going on and/or how to cancel?
    thx

The monthly charge was $30/month for the first year and went up to $50/month or something similar so the price increase was not without explanation you’ve just forgotten about it or never read the small print when you signed up, which is understandable.
Not having an active subscription could be that you’ve already successfully cancelled the plan, somehow.  The important thing is whether you can see any billing and/or payment transactions associated with your AdobeID, and whether you’ve been getting monthly e-mails when each payment is made or when the subscription renewed—like I do.
It’s the weekend in the US.  You may have more luck with this sort of issue during normal business hours weekdays in the US when the most Adobe staff are at work in the US.  I mean if there was some sort of data-glitch for your account then weekend staff in India may not understand enough about how everything works to get it figured out.  At least you got some answers and it being an introductory price.

  • Future Price Secenario

    Hello All,
We have just moved from Std Price control to MAP for all our raw materials, now we want that the price of raw materials should also have the FUTURE Price and should update on the said date.
Like we want to set the Price of a Material X as 10$ and want that when we do the costing run on July 1/08 this price of 10$ should update in the material master as current price.
Now as per my knowledge, this price is to be entered in Material Master (Costing View) in the planned Price Box along with the date and the Valuation variant should be set as such that it picks Planned Price first to update when the costing run is done for the material.
    I have Ques
Can someone help me know, that what i know above is correct and if not then solution to above secenario.
    Also Some suggesstions if any
and if we have over 600 Materials, hw can we enter the planned price for each material, like we change std price in MR21 hw can we enter Planned Price in the material Master.
    Thanks
    Amit

    Hi,
If you want your Future price should be automatically updated from the said date got o Material Master Accounting1 View and enter the Future Price in the Future Price Field and enter the Valid from date so that it can be activated from the given date.
I dont think MR21 will work in this Scenario. because MR21 is used to Increase / Decrease the Moving Average Price.
Use Mass maintenace for Material Master MM17 to update bulk. Else use LSMW.

  • Price Increases from 1/12/2014

Just received a letter and leaflet from BT detailing the price increases.
Are BT trying to make pricing so complicated that we will not be able to understand them?
They are introducing an additional line rental called Line Rental Plus which will have additional facilities and cost an additional £2 a month. Those who are not paying by direct debit will be transferred to this package with no choice. They are however ending the £2 processing fee for those nor paying by direct debit. Seems to be a con way of charging those not paying by direct debit more!!
I can not find any mention in the letter or leaflet about Caller Display. When the price increases were published last year a charge for Caller Display was introduced but it remained free if a new 1 year contract was taken out.
Looking on BT website I can find no mention of charges for Called Display other than last years announcement.
So what is the position this year? Are there charges for Called Display and if so where can we find details?
    Regards
    Peter

Companies like BT have been over-complicating their prices for years.  What bugs me about the letter is that it's personally addressed to me, yet only lists some of the price rises that apply to me.  I then have to visit their web site to discover the rest of them.  Even that's not totally transparent, as I have to follow another link and enter my account details to find the last few price rises.  There may be a lot of surprised customers in December who find that their bills have gone up by a lot more than they were expecting.
The caller display is still free if you agree to a 12 month phone contract.  So when your current contract ends, they will start charging.  You then have to agree to a new contract to get it free again.  It's BT's trick to lock customers into endless rolling contracts that you can only get out of once a year - or twice when you count the option to cancel whenever BT announce their latest price rises.

  • Are there planned price increases for renewal of creative cloud subscription

My renewal for creative cloud is pending. Are there price increases planned for creative cloud single app renewal?

I should have wrote, "I am better off, purchasing the Creative Suite 6 Design & Web Premium at $1899.00 and upgrading every 2 years at a cost of $375."
    So....
    Let's do some basic arithmatic
    CC Suite is $49.99 x 12 = $599.98 per year || $1199.76 / 2 years || $1799.74 / 3 years || $2399.72 / 4 years || $2999.70 / 5 years || $3599.68
When you compare to purchasing the Creative Suite 6 Design & Web Premium at $1899.00 and then upgrading every 2 years at a cost of $375, it only takes 4.5 years before the CC subscription begins to surpass the 'owning' the product license model. Of course, the Adobe finance people know this very well and that is why the subscription model is absolutely adored!
My graph clearly illustrates this... hopefully I don't annoy the Adobe people with this... not my intention.
I am rounding values and not taking into account regional price differences nor am I accounting for price increases.
I should add that at a subscription rate of $29.99 per month, Adobe still stands to make significantly more money, over the long term... but the mid-point is just over 9 years, rather than 4.5 years and that is a more palatable proposition... I am guessing... for most of us.
    Adobe, don't be greedy!

  • LogMeIn Central price increase - AGAIN!

So we started with central back in 2013.  The "intro" price, I'm now being told I paid, was $200 for the year, unlimited machines. In 2014, we found out we were being charged $1500 for central as we're over 500 computers.  No notice, no heads up, nothing.  Found out by accident.  I called my rep (We used LMI rescue for probably 10 years now) and they offered to renew us for $500 for the year.  MANY MANY others online had the same situation, though many were just charged and asked questions later.  Never found anyone that received an email from LMI about the price increase. As our 2015 renewal approaches, we received an email from LMI letting us know of our renewal date.  No mention of price.  I replied back that we're not committing at this time as we're looking at other products due to pricing and how 2014 was handled.  Receive a call from the rep and as we're talking about price, she informs me we're already on a "promo" price.  This promo price is $1900 and change as we're at the 500-1000 machine level.  WHAT?!  What are you talking about?  I was told renewal would be $1500.  Oh no - we have new products, etc.  You're in the basic plan, which is $2500/year for 500-1000 machines, but we're giving you a promo of $1900 and change (If memory serves.) She insists we received an email (Just like all LMI central users) on 12/14.  No email.  Again.  This is the second year of this excuse. So - from 2013 to 2015, we'll be experiencing an 850%+ increase.  From 2013 to 2016, we'll experience an 1150% increase.  No new features we've used/experienced in this time. Remind me why I should renew with you?

I have 5 computers on LMI, 3 of my own (1 with Pro), and 2 at clients.  4 are actually online now.  Same crap.  I paid the $150 for the 50% discount to keep access with Central last year.  I received no email about their intentions this year, but just found they want to upgrade me without my permission to LMI Central "Pro" for 25 machines, for a "discount price" of $553.  I just happened to need to help a client on X-mas eve, and saw the banner with the following message: Introducing the new and improved LogMeIn Central with three versions (Basic, Plus and Premier), each designed to provide specific features and capabilities to meet customer needs. In order to maintain your level of service and keep the features you need and use most, your account will automatically renew as Central Plus.Your Central Plus subscription includes 25 computers at a price of $553.43. This price reflects a promotional discount off our list prices for the first year. Any unused portions of existing Pro subscriptions have been applied to this renewal price. For a detailed breakout of your pricing please refer to the Subscriptions page under the Account Menu. All changes take place upon renewal. No action is necessary on your part. If you have any questions regarding these changes or want to learn about pricing options and discounts on other Central packages, please contact Customer Support. I was actually considering keeping the LogMeIn Central and my Pro machine.  That's around $365 for something I use maybe once or twice a month.  With them changing products and pricing and NOT NOTIFYING ME, except by way of an innocent looking banner when I logged-in today, I'm sorry, but I can't help but be totally offended by their actions.  Some other guy posted that he has 95 computers and they wanted to charge him *LESS* than me, and he was outraged.  I've had my house burglarized before.  At least those when those theives hit, I knew it happened.  These guys have my credit card - this is more like a drive-by shooting - wouldn't have even known until i got hit with the bill.  Who's running this company, the mafia?

  • I'm horribly confused about student licensing and commercial use

As the title says I'm horribly confused about student licensing and using it for commercial use.
I currently have a Student Licensing version of Adobe Creative Suite 4 that I purchased through my school's journeyEd portal.
Seeing how CS5 is now out I was browsing looking at prices (why not upgrade while I'm still a student, right?) and while browsing I bumped into one source that says that Student Licensing can not be used for commercial purposes, and this is when the confusion started. I remember reading before that we are able to use student licensing for commercial purposes, okay time to google search. I found one Adobe FAQ that says I can. .
    http://www.adobe.com/education/students/studentteacheredition/faq.html
" Can I use my Adobe Student and Teacher Edition software for commercial use?
Yes. You may purchase a Student and Teacher Edition for personal as well as commercial use. "
    and I found this old thread;
    http://forums.adobe.com/thread/314304
Where an poster listed as an employee of Adobe states
"There is no upgrade from the CS3 Educational Edition to the comparable CS3 editions sold in non-academic environments. If you have an educational version of for CS3 obtained legitimately (i.e., you qualified for the educational version when you obtained it), you may continue to use that software for the indefinite future, even for commercial use! You cannot sell or otherwise transfer that license, though! When the next version of the Creative Suite is released, you will have two choices: (1) If you still qualify for the educational version, you can buy a copy of that next version (there is no special upgrade pricing from one educational version to another; the price is already very low) or (2) you can upgrade from the educational version of CS3 to the full version of the next version of the Creative Suite as an upgrade from CS3 at the prices published at that time. "
Okay cool, hmm what this? Adobe is asking me if I want to IM with live costumer service agent, sure why not? Then the conversation started and I asked her my question about using my CS4 license for commercial use, she asks for my product code and email to verify my product, then informs me I can purchase the upgrade version of CS5 and use that for commercial, okay great, but not really answering my question. I reword it and give her a link to that FAQ page it goes like this. ..
"[CS Rep] : [My name], I would like to inform you that Adobe Student and Teacher Editions are not allowed for
    commercial use.
[CS Rep] : However, you can upgrade your current software to a normal upgrade version, and you can continue
    using it for commercial purpose.
[Me] : Then is the FAQ page mistaken? Because it is very misleading if it is. But thank you for the information.
[CS Rep] : You are welcome.
[CS Rep] : I apologize for the misleading information in the FAQ."
. .And after that, I went back to being confused.
SO my questions are. . . Can I or can't I use my Adobe Creative Suite 4 student licensing for commercial purposes? and If I purchase a Student Licensing of CS5 can I use that for commercial purposes as well?
Sorry for the long post, I just want to be perfectly clear on what I can and can not do with my purchase.

The rules differ in various parts of the world. In North America you can use it for commercial work.
There are no student/academic upgrades. The pricing is so low that in many cases you're better off buying another full student license but you are eligible for upgrade pricing for commercial versions once you're out of school.
You may not transfer the student license in any way.

  • Volume Licensing and KMS questions

I've been reading up on MS licensing all week and still slightly unsure of what we need.
We are revamping our infrastructure and need new licensing. We have 150 Win 7 Pro OEM (and some Win 8 Pro OEM licensed  computers that have been downgraded to Win 7 Pro OEM) computers and are getting 4 physical Windows Server 2012 R2 Standard servers.
We would also like to add some virtual servers to those.
From what I've researched, we can just purchase a single
    Microsoft®Windows®ServerStandard 2012R2 Sngl OLP 1License LevelC 2Proc
for $865 (used quick quote from MS website). This will give us a KMS host key to install on a 2012 server. We can then reimage Win 7 Pro and other 2012 servers and they will be able to activate with KMS.
Is all this correct? Or do I need to purchase separate Server 2012 and Windows 7/8 VLK's?
I read somewhere that this will also grant access to ISO files for imaging that already have the KMS client key or do not need a key at all? Or can we take any Windows image and apply the corresponding KMS client key to it and use that for imaging?

We are going to end up re-imaging all of our machines, current and future, anyway. I should just be able to use any ISO to create an image and implement the KMS client key there or during deployment, yes? Not gonna buy a client license just for an ISO that
    I don't need.
Is software assurance recommended? I saw an advantages chart of it and noticed it included new product versions, license mobility, and virtual desktop allowance, but not much detail about what each of these means exactly. It seems to be something we'll probably
    want though.
reimaging rights, can be a little tricky:
    http://www.microsoft.com/licensing/about-licensing/briefs/reimaging.aspx
Here is an overview and some scenarios for customising/reimaging:
    https://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ff730914.aspx
Note that there are some limitations about customising if you *don't* have a VL agreement..
    SA benefits:
    http://www.microsoft.com/licensing/software-assurance/by-product.aspx#tab=2
There are many benefits to SA, but the value of each benefit varies according to your organisation.
It's also worth noting that when you purchase a product (e.g. new computers with OEM Windows license), within 90 days or purchase you can enrol them in SA, and I think that might be less expensive that if you attach SA later on. But you'd want to consider
that you'll get your value from doing that, compared to some other agreement approach. There are lots of ways to bundle things up to get discounts, many different offerings across different licensing programmes.

  • 600% Price increase for educational CLP customers.  Anyone mad?

As many of you may know, Adobe killed maintenance contracts for CLP licensing on the first of the year.  I work at a small college, and as part of the CLP program, we ordered licenses for Production Premium, as well as a 2-year maintenance contract for $150 per seat.  For that $150, we get 2 years of upgrades for Production Premium, whenever they are released.  That works out to $6.25 per month, per seat.  It was because of this great pricing, we were able to get budget approval to use the Adobe suite of products for my Digital Media department.  Adobe even sold us on this plan because it "allowed us predictability in our budgeting."  Now, that is gone, and my department is really screwed as a result.
I've been going several rounds with Adobe on the phone, trying to get anyone to explain to me how they can justify yanking the rug out from the educational market by discontinuing our maintenance license. Whenever I ask for an alternative for our Production Premium maintenance contract for our college, they keep reading the same script about Creative Cloud for Teams. That sounds great, except for the price. It's $40 a month per seat for this service. We are currently paying $150 for two years of maintenance licensing, which works out to $6.25 per month per seat. When I tell them that we can't afford a 600% price increase, they keep reading the same line about Creative Cloud not being a single product, and that we get cloud storage, blah blah blah. No real explanation of why they are sticking us with a six-fold price hike. Are there any other educators out there who are as infuriated as me? For each student, over the course of their 4-year academic career, that's an extra $1600.

As per the other thread, the customer also has a Muse subscription and the renewal email he received with a price of £11.11 + VAT was for this subscription not the Photography Plan.
    Kind regards
    Bev
