Parallels only with administrator user

Hi,
I discovered the following:
After upgrading to leopard I had to reinstall parallels. This worked fine so far. Than I found a difference between the two MacBooks we have. With one installation it worked fine and with the other Parallels crashes every time.
The only difference is:
- With one installation my default user is "standard", with the other MacBook the default user is "administrator". With an user as administrator Parallels works fine, with a standard user it does not work. The situation is that the installation on both MacBooks has been done with an administration user. So on the second MacBook the users I used for installation of parallels ("administrator") and for usage "standard" are different. So I assume that problems of Parallels usage is somewhere located with rights management of files.
Any ideas?

    We have a problem only with one user, when the user access the UWL get the following error:
    Runtime error in the portal
    Exception in processing request, send the ID of exception to your portal ADMINISTRATION

    The other user does not have problems accessing the mailbox.
    The user is assigned the role of the mailbox correctly.
    Any idea what may be the problem?

    The best way to see what these issues are is to check the trace for when the run time error has occured:
    Log on to the portal, recreate the runtime error.  Then follow:
    1596214 How to find the latest default trace from right after
    reproducing an issue.  Please ensure that you have reproduced the
    issue with a user that is experiencing the issue that you have reported.  When you find the most recent default trace file, copy and paste the numbers from the portal screen and do a ctrl + F with the trace file opened and paste in the runtime error.  Now you should be able to see what is causing this issue.
    Then when you get this information, please paste or attach the file here that contains the runtime error for the user.  From this we should be able to figure out why the user is getting this.
    Also as an admin user, try clearing this users personalizations on the Universal Worklist first.
    Please clear all personalizations with the affected user and retest.

  • Only with administrator rights?

    Hi,
    when I launch the web page www.vh-t.de on my XP machine
    (fully patched, Flash Player 9 installed) with IE6, I can see in
    the middle of the page a little Flash intro - but only with
    administrator rights. Without administrator rights there only is a
    white area.
    Does someone know how to configure the system for making work
    Flash animations for normal users as well?

    "Renaming %program files%/Common Files/Adobe/updater5 to something else removed the error."
    This seems like a brute force approach, but it does work. I checked the event logs after doing this and don't see any errors in the App or System logs. This folder is the location of AdobeUpdater.exe and all of the Adobe .cer files, so it makes sense that this works, but seems like it should generate other errors...
    This is not how I wanted to solve the problem but it did solve it.

    Now, my Windows 2008 R2 Enterprise server are running in the domain. It have problem about some one in my team have remote my server with the user administrator while I'm remote it now. It make my session loss. I tried to remote it again but I found
    the message at the log on screen about "The task you are trying to do can't be completed because Remote Desktop Services is currently busy. Please try again in a few minutes. Other users should still be able to log on."
    Now, nobody can't remote with administrator user into this server. I have check the application log. I found the error message like this.

    In addition, I can log on this server with other user but I can't log off by it's showing the message "please wait for the system Event Notification service". Normally, the problem can solve by reboot the server. But how can be solve this problem

    The cause of unable to remote back to the server seems to be services hung, please try to reset session as the article below guides to see if it works:

  • Synchronization only works with Administrator user

    I've been using Blackberry Desktop Software for about 18 months to synchronize organizer data held in Microsoft Outlook 2010, under Windows XP Professional SP3, via a USB connection.
    I recently upgraded the BB desktop to v7.1.0 B42. In order to get a functional installation, I needed to remove the previous version and all associated data, and reinstall from scratch. After this, synchronization only works when the Windows account has Administrator privileges. This is true for both USB and Bluetooth connection.
    Has anyone else had this problem?

    I believe I do have it setup for all users - the printer shows up in "print setup utility" for the other accounts. When I get home I'll go ahead and reinstall the Stylus C86 driver.
    Since I'm at work, I attempted to print to a network printer I also have installed - I get the same error when I print from the other admin account (not mine) or the managed user account.
    Here's another tidbit: From the other admin account I navigated to the CUPS interface (127.0.0.1:631) and was able to successfully print a test page from there.
    Could this be some kind of user permission issue?

  • Windows media Player suddenly can't read some of my MP3, and only with one user account !!!

    here is my problem:
    I have a lot of MP3 in my W7 personnal computer at home. I read MP3 everyday with WMP and all was working fine, until some days ago. Some of my MP3 can't be read by WMP. I've looked at their properties, but there is nothing wrong, compared to others
    MP3 that I can read.
    The "unreadable" files are correctly read by VLC. So they are not corrupted.
    When I swtich to an other user, the same MP3 are read correctly with WMP. (Both usersd are admins)
    My MP3 are présents on two computers at home. When I connect from my second computer with a
    \\computername\c$, I can read these files. So the files are definitivly OK. But when I connect from my first computer to the second one, I can't read the MPS that have the same name! it's absolutely strange!
    I've tried to uninstall WMP, to delete all files related to WMP in my Appdata folder, I have even tried the FixIt from Microsoft, but any of these steps were helpful.
    I've copied the "unreadable" files from the Music folder to my desktop, allways the same issue.
    I've disabled my Antivirus, but without any results. I've tried the system restore, idem.
    My computer is running W7 32 bits, SP1, all updates installed regularly.
    Please help me, I want to understand what has happened!!! :)

    the error message is inside a popup: (French trnaslation) "Windows media Player encountered an error and will close." I have the choice beetween "CLOSE" and "HELP ON THE WEB".
    Of course the "help" is totally useless....
    I don't see any troublshooter related to "media player". The only troubleshooter where I can choose Media player is for the "compatibility mode", so it's not helpful. On the "audio and devices" troubleshooter I see "read
    a DVD with Windows Media Player", but that's not my case.
    I've already done the last step. I copy the MP3 from my second computer to the "problematic" one, and I can't read my file. But, on the second computer, i can read this MP3 so the issue is ONLY when I try to read this file with my Windows session.
    (in the same computer, with the administrator session, I can read all the files).
    To put it in a nutshell:
    on computer A logged as CEDRIC i can not read the mp3 called SUPERSONG (it's an example lol)
    on computer A logged as administrator, I can read the SUPERSONG
    on computer B logged as CEDRIC (other local account but same name) I can read the SUPERSONG mp3 that is present in the music Library (that is not the same file, but it's a file with the same name, and of crouse this is the same song). (all my MP3 are copied
    from computer A to computer B in case of failure on one of the computers)
    on computer A logged as CEDRIC, if I do a
    \\computerB\c$\...\SUPERSONG I can not read it.
    I know this is complicated to explain, but if I ask to the Microsoft community that is because I don't know what to do ;) ;) ;) 

  • Web Application working correctly only with Everyone user added to user privilages

    I have an web application in Sharepoint 2013 which only works correctly with the Everyone (Read Only) user added to User Privileges in Central Admin. 
    If I remove Everyone user from user privileges, user domains, that are added to access groups in Site Permissions, are directed to Request Access page of the site. I cannot understand how is this happening, specially because I have other Web App on the same
    server which are working correctly.
    Could you please advice me how could I trace the problem and resolve it.

    According to your description, my understanding is that Everyone user cannot access the web application except adding the account to user policy of the web application in Central Administration.
    I recommend to check if the Super Reader account has been given the Full Read permission on the web application in Central Administration.
    If not, add the account to the User Policy of the web application and grant Full Read permission to the account.

  • CS5 Updates only with Administrator Privileges?

    Hi!
    I installed CS5 Design Premium on several PCs in the company as administrator, the Users dont have administrator-privileges. The problem is, that CS5 does prompt for updates very often at the moment, and the users cant apply them. Is there a way to let them apply the updates without administrator privileges? I dont want to update this much PCs on my own and i dont want to give the users admin privs, of course

    We made a "hack" to get this possibillity under CS4.
    You have to look into "runaspc.exe" in order to get it to work.
    That's the way we did it.
    Not an ideal solution but Adobe has not yet managed to their updates to work with eg WSUS or similar.
    They have however released their Adobe Update Server, but that doesn't help one bit as the update procedure still needs administrative rights.

  • Really Slow Start-Up, force shut-down, only with one user....

    Lets see. I've had this puppy since August of 2005. We've been through a lot together. Im sure this is apple telling me to buy a new computer BUT all I want is to make sure I do not lose ANYTHING of importance. THE PROBLEM:
    So, I used my computer on Saturday, came home late on Sunday to check my e-mail. And I turned it on, logged into my Administrator account and go distracted, 30 minutes later the desktop hadn't fully loaded. The background picture came out, the tool bar from the little apple to the Help loaded, but my google notifier, airport and time and finder did not load. The application bar at the bottom loaded, but nothing happened if i moved the mouse over it. I had maybe 10 files and 4 folders on the desktop, so i tried moving them. I logged into another account to delete stuff I didnt need. It got a little better. I was able to actually move the folders into the HD icon on the desktop, and TRIED to take the picture off the desktop, but I ended up having to go to bed after hours of trying to fix it.
    I would have copied everything to disks, but a few months ago my CD/DVD ROM failed. Well, I never got it looked at because i've been in transition to LA. But it just spits any disk that is put in.
    I thought maybe I have too much stuff on the HD, causing it to be slow, but its not even 1/2 full. So that really can't be it.
    I have 2 accounts on my iBook. One is mine, the Administrator and the second is the Guest account for anyone borrowing my computer. I tried logging into the Guest account and it works perfectly. No problems with it at all. I am sooooo confused as to why overnight there is another problem with my computer. I have an appt with a Genius on Thursday, I do have my OSX Install Disks. I just found them!!
    Any thoughts or suggestions GREATLY appreciated.

    I've been trying to help another individual with an issue similar to yours. That case is a little less extreme--only certain applications cause trouble, not the whole works.

    See if any of that helps you. If not, it's probably best to ask the Apple experts when you go see them--my final idea is to erase and install the OS, which isn't an option for you since the CD/DVD drive doesn't work.

    I have just install BPC for NW sp03. I have windows domain controller and computer with window server that was included on this domain. on this computer I have install .NET part of the BPC. Under the user bpc_sysadmin I can saw the users that are into domain in adminstration console. I can add them into the apshell and other application sets. I gave them all the permissions.
    but when I am trying to access my application sets I can't saw them. so I can work only with my user bpc_sysadmin. what I am doing wrong? thanks

    Hi,
    normally when you run connection wizard, here once you mention the valid user name and pwd and at the end it will tell you "no application sets available for this user" if this user is not added properly for this application set.
    So you should check the secuirty again using your admin user and see that you have added this user, assigned to team/task profile and member access profile. Also check the task profile and member access profiles if they are configured correctly or not.

  • App is getting damaged when I replace it as non-administrative user

    Hey people,
    When I want to update e.g. VLC Player, as an administrator, it is simple: I just download the dmg, mount it and drop the new version of the VLC.app into the Applications folder to replace the old VLC.app. Few days ago I created a new admin account and changed my old account  to normal user. If I want to install new software that I did not use before, everything works as expected: when I drop an .app package into the Applications folder, I need to type in the admin login and password to allow this operation, then the package will be copied and I can start the new app.
    My problem:
    If I want to update the software by replacing the app as non-administrative user, the system first will promt me to keep both files, replace an older one or to stop - so far so good. BUT, when I select to replace, the copying process actually begins before the administrator prompt and it results in corrupted file. I also tried to create a new user account. So then I need first to remove the broken app (admin prompt once again) and then to install the new one (3rd admin prompt).
    I attached some screenshots to visualize the issue. I have the same issue on two different macs with different  user/admin names. I hope you have any idea how can it be fixed.

    We have a report with EVALUATE function , which is working fine with Administrator User but when we run for other users its giving following error.

    Is there any parameters that we have to set for the user level to use Evaluate ?

    You can create a compound key of Cat + SubCat (concatenation in a logical column is a quick win) which will render the SubCats unique and assign that as the logical level key:
    SubCat:
    A-Basic
    A-Value Add
    A-High
    B-Basic

  • Unable to interact with Flash content when running Firefox with restricted user

    When running Firefox with limited Windows user on Windows XP the Flash elements are displayed, the content that is set to auto-play does so even, but the flash area doesn't receive any mouse input: e.g. when I right click in the area instead of the flash context menu I get the browser context menu as if the flash plug-in wasn't even there. The exact same page on the exact same computer but with Administrator user works as expected: can press buttons, interact with flash controls and the context menu upon right-click is of course the flash one. This behavior occurs even if I disable all add-ons.

    Try uninstalling your sound card driver in Device Manager and reboot your PC.

  • Not Administrator user see uncorrect data

    i've a problem. I've developed a report in BI Publisher. If i access with Administrator user, i see correct data, but if i access with user not belonging to Administrator Group i see uncorrect data. The query in two scenarios is the same. Is it a problem of particular user? A problem of row security level? Can you help me?

  • Unable to login to caralog manager online with adminstrator user

    Hi Gurus,
    I am unable to login to catalog manager online with administrator user. I get error as
    'access denied for user to path /.'
    I think this is because of catalog migration from dev to test.
    What do i need to do so that i could login to catalog manager online with administrator?

    Hi,
    When the catalog is moved from Dev to Test/prod permissions are not copied. The users are part of the system folder (i.e Catalog Manager > Users > Properties > Owner Account = System Account), which is why Catalog Manager does not transfer the permissions.
    I guess that is the reason you were able to run the reports from dev and not from test/prod. To have them work you might need to refresh GUID's check the Oracle note [ID 1467256.1].
    1. Stop the Presentation Server.
    2. Backup the instanceconfig.xml file at [middleware_home]/instances/instance1/config/OracleBIPresentationServicesComponent/coreapplication_obips1/instanceconfig.xml
    Under the 'Catalog' section, add the 'Recover' tag. For Example:
    <Catalog>
    <UpgradeAndExit>false</UpgradeAndExit>
    <UpdateAccountGUIDs>Recover</UpdateAccountGUIDs>
    </Catalog>
    4. Start the Presentation Server. It will perform a recovery and then after some time shutdown.
    5. Remove the tag.
    6. Start the Presentation Server again.
