Parameter distribution from Central office to registers

Hi,
is there any documentation for enabling the parameter distribution from central office to Register POS application?
any pointers for enabling the configuration changes for MQ in central office and back office WAS will be helpful.
Also how the parameter data flows from central office to register.

So only worstation takes precedence over application.

Referring to the Table 2-2 in the Oracle document, sss-1301-cg.pdf, it seems that the corporate.xml and store.xml residing on the registers <client>/pos/config/parameter folder would contain parameters distributed from Back office and Central Office web applications respectively. However, in our experience, what we have witnessed is any parameter distributed from both the web applications, are updated in the register's workstation.xml file. The corporate.xml and store.xml do not contain any updated values.
Could you please confirm if this is a behaviour expected. Also, what would be the order of precedence in this scenario? Is it just going to be workstation.xml takes precedence over application.xml (containing all the default values)?, since corporate.xml and store.xml contains no values

How to deploy and debug Central Office 13.0.1 Application in Oracle AS

Hi,
Can anybody please explain me how to deploy and debug Central Office 13.0.1 / 13.1.1 Application in Oracle Application Server via Ecllipse IDE.
Please explain this:
1. Run the Oracle Application Server in debug mode from Ecllipse IDE.
2. Deploy the Central Office 13.0.1 into Application Server from Ecllipse IDE and able to debug the code.
3. Restart the Oracle Application Server in debug mode from Ecllipse IDE.

Dynamic parameter selection from infoview not storing the sql password

We are having the problem of dynamic parameter selection from infoview not storing the sql password as it does for the actual report. We are using Crystal Reports XI Release 2 version 11.5.3.438 (Not sure of SP level, asked in separate thread).
To be more specific.
We have created a report that dynamically populates the parameters of the report by pulling the records from the Informix sql database and allowing selection from there.
In the Central Management Console for the report object we have set as follows:
Process - Database:
Use original database logon information from the report - the sql username and pw etc
Use same database logon as when report is run
Process - Parameters
In selecting a default selection there is the option to put in the sql password, however, this does not stick and clears after update.
As such the end result is that every time this report is run from infoview and a user chooses a parameter (there are 5), crystal goes through some timeout for about a minute or so and then requests the sql password, if a user then selects the next parameter, the same timeout and password dialog appears.
We need the crystal report to handle to the sql password for fetching the parameters as well as for the database section of running the report, however, the parameters insists on the end user always putting the password in.
This is 100% replicatable on our system.
Any way that we can fix this?
Will an update fix this issue? If so could you please advise which one?

Problems moving distribution from one environment to another
Initially we have the environment as below:-
Production :-
Server1 : AIX Environment manager (dealing with conductor, web, db)
Server2 : NT Node manager (dealing with outlook)
Development :-
Server3 : NT Environment manager (dealing with conductor, web, db)
Server4 : NT Node manager (dealing with outlook)
Currently, we intended to change the production environment via
changing the Server1 to Server3, as the new environment
manager, while the node manager unchanged.
Things that we've done in Server2, the node manager for
production environment:-
1) Pointing to Server3 instead of Server1, by changing Forte
Control Panel and changing registry entry.
2) Re-deploy the needed libraries in the new environment, so
that it can has the updated version.
3) Re-olegen the vb component.
4) Re-deploy the whole application.
However, we're facing the following problems/error messages
for the newly deployed Forte application:
1) Failed to bind to object named (/wfuseraccessobj/odbso/1)
2) Failed to bind to object named (/wfuseraccessobj/emailso/1)
These errors are actually refer to the libraries that used by
Conductor in order to perform database retrieval, and emailing
functions. These functions were worked properly in the initial
environments.
NOTE: The first error could be okay when refreshing the internet browser
(as our system is a web-based system), somehow it keeps on occurring every
now and then.
Please advice on this matter and reply ASAP as the project
delivery is crucial for our side.

Yes. I organize all my film rolls by name. If I import new pictures that don't fit into an existing film roll name I create a new film roll with a name appropriate to the theme of the new pictures. No problem with this.
However, if I import pictures at a later date that I want to move to an existing film roll, there is a problem if scrolling is required to bring the existing film roll into view in the display pane.
For example, I have a film roll called "Flowers & Plants". I later import a roll that contains some pictures that I want to move to the Flowers & Plants roll. The Flowers & Plants roll is not visible in the display pane so scrolling is necessary. I select and drag the new pictures up (the new film roll is always at the bottom of the display pane) to reveal the Flowers & Plants film roll. However, the film rolls scroll by so fast it is virtually impossible to stop on the Flowers & Plants roll's title bar.
This was not a problem with earlier versions of iPhoto on slower Macs. I really appreciate the much improved iPhoto/Mac performance but I wish there were some way to control this aspect.

1) Oracle retail central office (ORCO)
2)back office (ORBO)
3) pos (POINT OF SERVICE)
4) Sim (store inventory management)
Before i discuss with implementation team for hardware , i need advice on best hardware configuration for Orco (Oracle retail central office) and Sim
following prerequisite will be installed on ORCO prod server
a)11gR2
b) weblogic server 10.3.5
c)jdk1.6
d)ORCO application
following prerequisite will be installed on SIM prod server
a)11gR2
b) weblogic server 10.3.5
c)jdk1.6
d)SIM application
Note : Operating system for both servers Oracle Linux 5.3 above/ Redhat linux 5.3 above
application users may be 200+
Among both sun servers and HP which one is best and how should be the structure for both ORCO and SIM.

Trying to get service. Building that looks to be a central office just down the street.

I have been trying to find who services my area for landline internet. Every time I try to type in my address into the website the data base has no idea where my address is but this is the same issue with all the other isp databases so I think the address on file in the county/city is different then the one saved on the isp databases. Either way there is a Verizon building a small concrete building with power/ and phone line and maybe other things I don't know. Right down the street from my house and there is no cell tower within 3 miles of it. By any change could I get service from this central office. I tried to call the tech support for setup but they seem to be working off the same data base that I have access too and they have no idea where I am as it says my address is on the other side of town. If there is anything you can do to help please let me know. O and also I was supposed to get a call from the engineering department but that was like 3 weeks ago.

Trying to get DSL internet. Verizon central office just down the Road less then 1 mile away.

I am trying to get service to my home and its a bit frustrating when the county physical address does not match with any other maps to try and get service. (its not just you). My property has 2 addresses associated with it

There is a central office just down the Road with your logo on it (less then 1 mile when traveling on a Road with power/phone lines)

when i try to play around with the address trying to find one that is (somewhat close to my address to use as a reference point)
What seems to be the case is so far i have found that i can get Phone service and direct TV through Verizon.
Is this due to the distance the system thinks i am from the Central office or is it just that you do not provide Internet other then wireless even though there is a Central office and phone lines already set up in the area and to my 2 houses.
Also last year we got all the way too getting a phone rep who told us that we would be getting a call from engineering to look into our problem...... that never happened.
I would be most appreciative if you could please look into this.
If there is any more information you need to better understand my situation please do let me know and i will do what i can to provide it.

after the holidays i will again call customer support and hopefully i find them more equipped then the check for service plug in i also have access too and no way of dealing with difficult questions.

Infopath form not removed from central admin after retracting the solution

I have InfoPath form admin appvoed deployed through Stat machine workflow when I retracting some forms are not removing from Central admin
when trying to deploying it says

try to use force command to uninstall/remove solution,then only add solution.
if this not work out then first uninstall feature using force and manually delete feature folder from file system inside layouts.

VERIZON CHANGED HIGH SPEED DSL AT CENTRAL OFFICE AFTER I HAD 7.840 MBPS FOR MORE THAN 10 MONTHS!!!

ALL OF THE SUDDEN VERIZON DECIDES IN LATE APRIL THAT I SHOULD HAVE 7.1 MBPS INSTEAD OF THE 7.840 MBPS I HAVE BEEN HAVING FOR MORE THAN 10 MONTHS. AS A MATTER OF FACT, AFTER A LOT OF DISCONNECTIONS SUFFERED IN MARCH/APRIL 2012 BECAUSE VERIZON WAS DOING SOMETHING IN THEIR CENTRAL OFFICE WITHOUT TELLING TO THEIR CUSTOMERS, AND HAVING TO REPLACE ALL OF THE DSL FILTERS, AND TWO MODEMS... I GOT THE D-LINK WORKING AT 7.840 MBPS. AS A MATTER OF FACT, VERIZON TECHNICIAN CAME TO MY HOME AND WE DID INSTALL THE NEW MODEM AT THAT VERY SPEED, WHICH WAS AGREED MORE THAN 1 YEAR AGO AFTER DOING A LOT OF TESTING TO ENSURE THE STABILITY IN THE CONNECTION. ALL OF THE SUDDEN, AFTER THE 20-DAY HONEYMOON WITH MY NEW MODEM, I NOTICED THAT MY SPEED WAS NOT THE SAME, AND FOUND OUT THAT THE IP WAS CHANGED AND THE SPEED SETTING DROPPED TO 7.1 MBPS. AS A MATTER OF FACT I COULD GO EVEN OVER 8 MBPS BUT BECAUSE OF MY LOCATION, RELATIVELY FAR AWAY FROM THE CENTRAL OFFICE AND AFTER A LOT OF TESTING, 7.840 MBPS WAS THE MOST CONVENIENT SPEED. VERIZON CHANGES THEIR POLICIES NOT NOTIFYING THE CUSTOMERS, THEY DO WORK INTERRUPTING THE SERVICE WITHOUT NOTIFYING. I AM GOING TO WAIT AND SEE WHAT THEY DO IN THIS CASE. IF THIS IS NOT SOLVED PROPERLY... GOOD BYE VERIZON, AND HELLO TIME WARNER CABLE!!! SO, VERIZON BE PREPARED TO LOSE ANOTHER LOYAL CUSTOMER FOR MORE THAN 9 YEARS!!! THAT IS THE PROBLEM WITH VERIZON, THEY ARE SO DEDICATED TO GET NEW CUSTOMERS THAT FORGET ABOUT THEIR OLD LOYAL ONES... UNFORTUNATELY, THERE ARE CONSEQUENCES... AND THOSE ARE THAT YOU WILL LOSE THE OLD ONES SOON BECAUSE YOUR LACK OF CARE ABOUT THEM!!! ONCE YOU ARE HOOKED WITH VERIZON, THEY THINK THEY GOTCHA FOREVER... LET'S WAIT AND SEE...

Believe or not... That 20% does make a difference... In one of my games, I used to have 5.3 secs of response time, now it does not lower from 7.8. By the way, even my PC worked faster when I had that little higher speed... I know the changes were done without my knowledge because for a period of 2 weeks I got lot of unstability in my connection that I never got for years before... After 20 days with the first IP assigned to the new modem, the speed dropped like Verizon was running a program to levelize such an speed.
At the end, what really bothers me, is that the 7.840 Mbps was a speed agreed with Verizon, their technicians, their supervisors at the CO, and it was fully documented, and all of the sudden because an "internal change in their policies" that agreement was broken... I am currently making arrangements to have FIOS installed at home, subject to an scouting visit from Verizon to evaluate the feasibility of its installation according to my internal wiring limitations. I have to give them a try... No doubt that it would me cheaper and much faster than the high speed enhanced internet connection that I currently have. Let's wait and see...

Unable to allow traffic from remote office - Cisco RV220W

Hi there,
I have just bought the RV220W Cisco router firewall because my DLINK-1600 got broken and now I am unable to allow access to the machines located behind this router from the machines located at a remote office. Any help would be much appreciated!!
This is the situation:
1. Two remote offices A and B connected by a VPN tunnel (this connection is managed by an external provider and it is properly functioning)
2. IP range A office: 192.168.236.0/24
3. IP range B office: 192.168.237.0/24
4. Office A: CISCO RV220W router/firewall (the one that I´ve just bought as the old dlink has broken). This RV220W is connected to a cisco router (managed by provider) that is the one with the VPN tunnel to the other office. The CISCO router does not do NAT. On the other end (Office B) there is another CISCO router managed by the provider.
5. Everything was working smoothly until our old router/firewall got broken and that is when I bought the rv220w. I have set up the CISCO RV220W at office A and the machines can ping the machines located at office B and can browse the internet, i.e., the traffic going out is OK and in that sense everything works smoothly.
6. The problem is that the machines located at office B cannot access the machines located behind the CISCO RV220W and I know it is a problem of the firewall as if I capture traffic coming from office B, I can see that it is dropped by the CISCO RV220W.
7. I have tried to enable an access rule in the firewall to allow traffic from office B (see picture below) but it does not seem to work. In the field, Send to Local Server (DNAT IP) I have entered the WAN IP of my router (you cannot leave it blank) … this rule does not work at all. I think that is not properly configured but I don´t know how to do it.
8. As you see, the problem is that I don´t know how to set up a rule to allow specific traffic coming from the WAN (traffic from remote office – 192.168.237.0/24) to the LAN at office A - 192.168.236.0/24.
In the old router/firewall I just had to create a rule specifying the source interface (WAN) and network (Office B) and the destination interdace (LANOfficeA) and network (Office A). It does not seem that here I can do the same. i mean, you always have to point to a server ip inside the LAN??
I know it has to be a very easy thing to do but at this moment I am completely stuck. If anyone can give me some advice would be great.

Hi Eva, the default inbound policy cannot be changed. It will block all inbound traffic. To my knowledge there is not a way around this. Access rules are the only way to 'poke' a hole through the firewall but as you note, it is for a specific host. Values such as .0 and .255 do not work.

Unable to get parameter values from a remote database

I am linking to a remote database view via a synonym in Oracle and trying to retrieve parameter values from it. The username and password are the same for the local and remote database and I can run the SQL query using SQL plus against the database and values are returned. However, when I try and run the same query in Crystal Reports (XI) I receive an Oracle error:
"An attempt was made to connect or log in to a remote database using a connection description that could not be found.
Action:
Specify an existing database link. Query the data dictionary to see all existing database links. See your operating system-specific Net8 documentation for valid connection descriptors. "
How can it be that Crystal cannot run the query when it is valid in SQL plus?
Any tips/info would be appreciated.

When running one of the reports in VS.Net this is the error I receive:

When running the same report in Crystal Reports designer I receive this error message:
"Prompting failed with the following error message: 'List of Values failure: fail to get values. [Cause of error: Failed to retrieve data from the database. Details: [Database Vendor Code: 2019]. Failure to retrieve data from the database. Error in File UNKNOWN.RPT. Failure to retrieve data from the database. Details: [Database Vendor Code: 2019]]'.
Error source: prompt.dll Error code: 0x8004380D"
So this one is also failing in the designer.
All the parameters in the main report are static and the ones in the subreport are passed in from the main report.

How to make upgrade from application server and not from central instance?

Hi Victor,
Upgrade process has to execute from the server where message server is running.
So I guess it is not possible to initiate the SAP upgrade from application server.

I just updated my OS to Leopard and know Power Point from my office suite is opening, or tries to after a reboot and hangs when you try to open it.

I just updated my Mac Book Pro to leopard 10.6.8, and now Power Point from my office suite angs, and when I start up or re boot the laptop Power Point automatically opens and then just hangs, the only way to close is to force close.
Does any one know of any similar issues.

Saving/Opening documents to SharePoint 2013 from within Office 2010 applications

I was hoping that Office 2010 would work nicely together in terms of saving to and opening documents from SharePoint 2013. Alas, I was disappointed and somewhat surprised to see that opening/saving documents in SharePoint from within Office still
involves copying, pasting and hacking the URL of the document library in the Save or Open dialogue box. I was fully expecting that Office 2010 would have display some sort of SharePoint navigation so you could view your sites and document libraries in a similar
way to folders. A mature document management system this ain't!
Anyone have any advice on how to improve the Open/Save to/from SharePoint experience in Office 2010? I'm open to the idea of Office add-ins whether third party or official Microsoft.

An example scenario: I create a new document or receive a document, I'm in the document, and I want to publish the document to a document library in SharePoint. At the moment I would have to save the document, load up SharePoint, navigate to the document
library and then go through the upload process.
I should really be able to, from within Word, select File - Save to SharePoint (say) and then be able to navigate to the document library I want to publish to. Really basic DMS stuff that I'm surprised isn't there!
Similar thing to opening a document. I should be able to Open from SharePoint, navigate to the document library via some sort of navigation box, and open it.
Thoughts appreciated.
