Parameter passing in BADI in script logic

inside BADI when I tried to pass variables, I got error 'incorrect parameter format in "DIMENSION =" .
//local variable
*SELECT(%VERSION%, ID, VERSION, "GROUP <>'ACTUAL')
*XDIM_MEMBERSET VERSION = %VERSION%
*START_BADI RUNLOGIC
LOGIC = TEST1.LGF
DIMENSION = %VERSION1%
*END_BADI
When I changed it to DIMENSION = PLAN, where "PLAN" is an actual dimension member, it works.
when I changed it to DIMENSION = $VER$, it works. however $VER$ is for DM input parameter, not for my local variable.
So how do I pass the variable to TEST1.LGF? simply the "*XDIM_MEMBERSET VERSION = %VERSION%" will do this, right?
anyway I can pass variable from inside BADI?
my plan is to have a sructure like the following
*XDIM XXXXXX
BADI to call test1.lgf
BADI to call test2.lgf
BADI to call test3.lgf
so it will be great if I can pass different parameters into each BADI.
now %VERSION% does not work. that's my issue.
George

Gersh,
yeah, that's a typo.
I see your point. for *XDIM_MEMBERSET, I will define it for each badi.
for the DIMENSION = %VARIABLE%, I found it behaves weird, sometimes it works, sometimes it complains about incorrect parameter format. this happened like in one minute. I double checked my spelling, and could not figure out.
I will proceed now.
I will post one new question in another thread.thanks Gersh.

  • Pass package variable to script logic

    Hi expert,
I have creted a variable in a Package with the statement
    PROMPT(TEXT,%PERCE%,"Revaluation rate",,"")
the variable appears and properly stores a value.
However, what statement can be used to pass it to the sript logic?
    I tried 'TASK(Execute formulas,REPLACEPARAM,PERCE%EQU%%PERCE%) but it's somehow wrong.
    Please..any help?
    Thanks,
    Alberto Sabate

    Jeffrey,
    Thanks for your answer.
I am aware that within the script logic I have to use a variable between $ signs. So $PERCE$ is exactly what I had in my script logic.
However in order to get a value there we have to enter a command into the dstx file to actually send the value enter by the user into the script logic.
    In the Package I have:
    PROMPT(TEXT,%PERCE%,"Revaluation rate",,"")
    TASK(RUNLOGIC,FORMULASCRIPT,"*FUNCTION PER=%PERCE%")
    In the script I have
    *WHEN *
    IS
    *REC(FACTOR=PER.INPUT)
    *ENDWHEN
I have also tried $PERCE$ instead of PER.INPUT, but no luck either.
Still I'm not able to get the variable %PERCE% into the formula. Why?
    Thanks
    Alberto

  • Use BADI or LGF script logic? Which is good in performance

    Hello,
I have a situation wherein a choice is to be made among the "BADI" or "script logic" having DESTINATION_APP which is along with WHEN clause.
Below is the code in which WHEN clause is used:
    Code Starts****
    XDIM_MEMBERSET CATEGORY=FC_CUR
    *DESTINATION_APP=GROSSMARGIN
    *SKIP_DIM =WEEK
    *ADD_DIM PLAN_PARTNER = PP_NA, RPTCURRENCY = LC
    *WHEN CATEGORY
        *IS "FC_CUR"
                  *REC(EXPRESSION=%VALUE%)
    *ENDWHEN
    *****Code Ends****
The business requirement could be changing as we are at initial stage, wherein i may have to incorporate some data mapping logic which can also be handled through scripts instead of using BADI.
The major concern is if BADI would be most prefferable over script logic having WHEN clause to acheive the optimal performance considering large no. of records that needs to be written to the target APPLICATION
    from the source application?
    OR
The script with WHEN statement is fine if the data mapping is pretty simple and would not have much impact on performance compared to using of BADI even if the records to be moved is huge.

If data mapping is simple you can opt for script logic . If requirement is complex then you can go for BADI . You can check this [How-to|http://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/scn/go/portal/prtroot/docs/library/uuid/70187b3e-d5ce-2d10-d780-bb8b1a5b0bdc?QuickLink=index&overridelayout=true] 6 th page on performance considerations of BADI .

  • I want to expend base member for year.total parameter passed from pacakage

    Hi All,
I am passing an Year.Total parameter from DM Package into my script logic. I need to calculate revenue for the whole year which has been passed on. But I dont know how to handle this parameter(year.total) in my script logic. I want to calculate revenue for the whole year not like year.jan, year.feb..................... etc
// Calculate Revenue & post it to Planning Application
    // Define scope of data
// Base members only and products with a product group
    *SELECT(%BASENT%, "[ID]", "STORE", "CALC='N'")
    *SELECT(%PRODS%,"[ID]", "PRODUCT", "CALC='N' AND PRDGRP<>' ' ")
    *SELECT(%BASTIM%,"[ID]", "TIME", "CALC='N'")
    *XDIM_MEMBERSET TIME = %BASTIM%             //%TIME_SET%
    *XDIM_MEMBERSET STORE = %BASENT%
    *XDIM_MEMBERSET PRODUCT = %PRODS%
    //*XDIM_FILTER ACCOUNT = [account].properties("ACCTYPE")="AST"
    //*XDIM_FILTER TIME = [TIME].properties("CALC
    *LOOKUP UNITRATES
    *DIM ENTITY = STORE.ENTITY
    *DIM PRODUCT = PRODUCT
    *DIM TIME = TIME
    *DIM UPRICE:UNITRATE = "PRICE"
    *ENDLOOKUP
// Declare the Destination Application - we're calculating revenue in a different App.
    *DESTINATION_APP = PLANNING
    *RENAME_DIM STORE = ENTITY
    *RENAME_DIM PRODUCT = PRDGRP
    *ADD_DIM CURRENCY = LC
    *ADD_DIM ACCOUNT = 41100               // Revenue account
    *WHEN PRODUCT
    *IS *
    *REC(FACTOR=LOOKUP(UPRICE), PRODUCT=PRODUCT.PRDGRP, STORE=STORE.ENTITY )
    *ENDWHEN
    *COMMIT
    Thanks

    Hi Dalil:
    1. Firstly check if you have year input value like 2009.INP, or your revenue should be calculated by sum up 12 months.
    2. If you have year input value, you should directly use this value , you can filter using some property .
    3. If you should sum up 12 months value, then I think you should exactly declare the year time in your REC .
    like REC(FACTOR=LOOKUP(UPRICE), PRODUCT=PRODUCT.PRDGRP, STORE=STORE.ENTITY, TIME = 2009.INP )
    Wish this can help you

  • Substring in script logic

    Hi,
We have a customer dimension, where we can extract a lot of information. However the information depends on the sales organization.
Since the client currently have 30 sales organization and we can deduct information like: billing currency, sold-to-country and profitcenter from the combination of sales organization and customer this means I have to create 90 properties to hold this information (30 salesorg * 3 informations pr salesorg).
Therefore I would like to concatenate the information in 1 property per sales organization. This however means I have to be able to make a substring on the property, e.g. in a select statement to retreive the relevant information (it is not possible to do it in the report, since the properties hold information I need to save the data).
Does anyone know if this is possible?
    Thanks,
    Lars

    Hi Lars -
Sorry, string manipulation commands are not available in script Logic.  You will need to call a BAdI from script logic and use the rich string manipulation tools available in ABAP.

  • Can we calculate difference of  dimension properties values in script logic

    HI
I have 3 products, whose manufacturing process starting perod and end periods are different for three products. Now I want
to distribute total  manufactuing cost to those periods only for each product.  how will write script logic  for this senario.
    My system is BPC nw7.5
    Mahi

    Hi,
So, you want to find the difference between the dates and distribute the cost among them. I dont think this will be feasible using script logic. My suggestion would be use BADI. Script logic cannot do manipulation on the properties. BADI will be much easier. In addition to this, you need to think what should be the destination of the result. Every record is going to generate few records (depending on the number of months).
    Hope this helps.

  • Reference a value of previous year in a Script Logic

    Hi,
I need to reference a value of previous year to that I have in a Script Logic.
I've tried it with "%YEAR% (-1)", but "%YEAR%" refers to the current year and doesn't refer to the year that I have in the Script Logic, that is, if I pass "2006.DEC " to Script Logic, the system returns me in "%YEAR%" the value "2010".
    What syntax should I use?
    Regards,
    Miguel.

    Hi
The  Damien's suggestion is the correct one for BPC 7.0 NW to get the offset of the passed-in Time's member.
So you have properties in your Time dimension that store the prior year of current member or the next year of current member or next 2 years of current member and etc.
Then reference them in you logic something right this
    ID : 2008.JAN
    NEXT: 2009.JAN
    PRIOR: 2007.JAN
    *WHEN TIME
    *IS %TIME_SET%
    *REC(FACTOR=1, TIME=TIME.PRIOR)
    *ENDWHEN
    Additional information,
%YEAR% in BPC NW reflects the time on the server which is different from the BPC MS.
BPC 7.5 NW has a better function to handle this: TVML.

  • Send parameter from one script logic to another. SAP BPC 7.5 NW.

    Hello!
Before i start, want to apologize for my English.
We work on SAP BPC 7.5 for NetWeaver.
In general,  we want to send parameter from one Script logic file to another script logic file.
    I will explain why :
    1. We have parametr like %C_CATEGORY_SET% (and another four parameter, like groups, currency and etc.) that work on one script(next, i will named it A_Script).
We will send this parametr from BPC EXCEL (we will create button, then use command MNU_eData_SelectPackage(we also set parameters) and run package that we need, also before we set script for this package by the SAP Guide. We send some data, and this A_Script work good. Everything that we want from this script work correctly. )
    2. Next we create another script(B_Script) , and we want use %C_CATEGORY_SET%, but we don't know how use this parametr, if we will just write this parametr on Script Logic,  apears error ("C_CATEGORYDATAVALUE" is not assigned to the Data Administrator). We try to solve this problem by using System_Constants.lgf, but we get error.
    Code:
    *DIM C_CATEGORY          WHAT=%C_CATEGORY_SET%;             WHERE=<<<;                   USING=<<<;    TOTAL=<<<
    *DIM C_ENTITY                 WHAT=%ENTITYSET%;                         WHERE=<<<;                  USING=<<<;      TOTAL=<<<
    *DIM GROUPS                   WHAT=%GROUPS_SET%;                    WHERE=<<<;                  USING=<<<;     TOTAL=<<<
    *DIM RPTCURRENCY         WHAT=%RPTCURRENCY_SET%;         WHERE=<<<;                  USING=<<<;      TOTAL=<<<
    *DIM TIME                          WHAT=%TIME_SET%;                          WHERE=<<<;                  USING=<<<;     TOTAL=<<<
If we will change %C_CATEGORY_SET% for  ACTUAL, and also change another parameters, script will work, package will run correctly. But we need using parameters, because we didn't exactly what will choose our client.
Our question have BPC Script Logic some kind of Globar Parameter(Variable), that we will set in A_Script, and then use them on B_Script?
How can we define parameter from another script logic, maybe we should send it?
Should we use System_Constants for solving this problem, if yes, how?
    Any help will be appreciated

    Hi Ethan Jewett
    1. About %ENTITYSET% it is normal. Before this line  i write :
    *SELECT(%ENTITYSET%, "ENTITY", GROUPS, "[ID]=%GROUPS_SET%")
So it is not this problem. %ENTITYSET% just parameter, that i used.
    2. Are you running the scripts using the same data manager package? I am running two different package for 2 different Script.
For example aPackage for aScript, and bPackage for bScript.
My questions was how can i send parametr from one script to another, for example i can run another script by using BADi command Runlogic, but how can send parameter that i need to used on another script. I have for example parameter %GROUPS_SET% (CG001) on aScript, but i can't get this parameter on another script, if i write %GROUPS_SET% i will get error  ("GROUPSDATAVALUE" is not assigned to the Data Administrator)
    OR
Maybe if you will answer for next question, i will be able solve problem , How can i send parameter CG001 (this is %GROUPS_SET%, for example it stay in EXCEL in cell A5) from excel to script logic by running package. Maybe i can get cell value on Dynamic Script Data Management?
    My Dynamic Script on bPackage

  • SPRUNCALCACCOUNT passing scope from script logic

    Hi all,
Is it possible to limit the scope of execution of SPRUNCALCACCOUNT (and other business rules calls) in the script logic?
I'd like to run a few consolidation tasks (each for different list of entities) in a row, without propmting users to fill the parameters.
My script is as below, and the *XDIM_MEMBERSET_LEGALENTITY clause does not seem to affect the scope - the account transformation is run for all entities.
    *XDIM_MEMBERSET LEGALENTITY  = A1004, A0602, A0758
    *SELECT (%CURR_SET%, "[ID]", "GROUPS", "CURRENCY_TYPE='R'")
    *RUN_STORED_PROCEDURE=SPRunCalcAccount(LegalApp,%CATEGORY_SET%,%CURR_SET%,A)
    *Commit
    regs,
    Mariusz Suminski

Sorry for the slow reply on this one... This question is one that has perplexed me for a long long time, how to unravel the mysteries of the %ScopeTable% parameter.
For my case, I'm trying to dynamically control the time periods which are calculated in SPRunCalcAccount, based on the selected category, and a property value (e.g. Category.FirstPlanMonth) so that the user isn't bothered with selecting time periods when running logic. For a mid-year update category, only July - December is to be calculated.
My solution is a bit involved, but works quite well, as I create my own scope table. A custom stored proc accepts a few parameters, sets up a custom scope table exactly as I like, and then passes that table into the SPRunCalcAccount.
Your stored proc may need to consider some or all of the dimensions of your application, but in my case I'm only concerned with entity/category/time. Here's how I call it from the LGF:
// Generate a random number for use in the table name
    *SELECT (%RandomNum%, round(rand()*10000000,0),"TIME","[ID]='YYYY.INPUT'")
    *RUN_STORED_PROCEDURE=CustomScopeTableManager([%CATEGORY_SET%],[%ENTITY_SET%],[%TIME_SET%],[Custom_Scope_%RandomNum%],[CREATE])
// Use the new scope table in a business rule.
    *RUN_STORED_PROCEDURE=SPRUNCALCACCOUNT([%APP%],[%CATEGORY_SET%],[LC],[Custom_Scope_%RandomNum%],[%Logtable%],[Test])
    // Drop the scope table.
    *RUN_STORED_PROCEDURE=CustomScopeTableManager([],[],[],[Custom_Scope_%RandomNum%],[DROP])

  • Use of comments in script logic / BADI

    Hi,
Does anyone knows whether one can read the comments entered in an input schedule in a script logic or BADI? Depending on the text entered in a comment, a certain planfunction has to be executed during save ...
the user should be able to easily change a dimension value in an input schedule:
Product    Product group    Key figure 1     Key figure 2
    A             A1                     10                       30
-> the user easily needs to change the product group from A1 into B1 . When doing so the values of key figure 1 and 2 need to be copied to the new product group and the original values on A1 have to be removed. we cannot set up the product group as a propoerty since one should be able to compare multiple versions with different assignments ... So we were thinking to add an additional comment column in which the new value can be assigned to. When save, it should read the comment and perform the planfunction ... Would this be possible?
    D

    HI D-
Possible, but you would probably need to create a Badi to accomplish all the logic...
For a start, you would need to be able to find the comments...the naming convention for the dynamic comment table is:
    /1CPMB/application_set_prefixapplication_prefixCMT
The two character application_set_prefix can be identified from the table UJA_APPSET_INFO, and the two character application_prefix can be identified from the UJA_APPL table.
Once the comment table is identified you could create a custom Badi to look up comment information to direct processing of specific records.

  • Passing variables from DM to logic script problem (REPLACEPARAM)

    Dear All,
I would like to send variables from data manager to a logic script. The script copies values from an account to an other. If I hardcode two accounts in the script, it works fine, but I want to pass these two accounts dynamically from data manager to the script.
My advanced script in DM looks as follows:
    PROMPT(SELECTINPUT,%ENTITY_M%,,"Select entity:","ENTITY_DIM")
    PROMPT(SELECTINPUT,%SOURCE%,,"Select source account:","ACCOUNT_DIM")
    PROMPT(SELECTINPUT,%TARGET%,,"Select target account:","ACCOUNT_DIM")
    INFO(%EQU%,=)
    INFO(%TAB%,;)
    TASK(PROCESS_CHAIN_RUNL,TAB,%TAB%)
    TASK(PROCESS_CHAIN_RUNL,EQU,%EQU%)
    TASK(PROCESS_CHAIN_RUNL,SUSER,%USER%)
    TASK(PROCESS_CHAIN_RUNL,SAPPSET,%APPSET%)
    TASK(PROCESS_CHAIN_RUNL,SAPP,%APP%)
    TASK(PROCESS_CHAIN_RUNL,SELECTION,%ENTITY_M%)
    TASK(PROCESS_CHAIN_RUNL,LOGICFILENAME,ACCOUNT_COPY_LOGIC.LGF)
    TASK(PROCESS_CHAIN_RUNL,MEMBERSELECTION,SOURCE%EQU%%SOURCE%%TAB% TARGET%EQU%%TARGET%)
In the logic script, I'm using $SOURCE$ and $TARGET$ as variables, but it seems that only the first of them gets the value from DM, the other one not, and I always get an error message:
        Member "$TARGET$" not exist
The second variable doesn't seem to get the value. If I use only one variable, either SOURCE or TARGET, it works fine...
...and I also tried to replace the MEMBERSELECTION statement with a REPLACEPARAM statement:
    TASK(PROCESS_CHAIN_RUNL,REPLACEPARAM,SOURCE%EQU%%SOURCE%%TAB% TARGET%EQU%%TARGET%)
This way I got an other error message, saying: "Member .../PrivatePublications/user not exist"
Do you have any idea? How to pass two user selected parameters to a logic script?
    Thanks for your help,
    A.

    Hi CsernusAttila
You cannot use ACCOUNT_DIM with promp SELECT  and variable $SOURCE$ because it only works with variable ACCOUNT_SET in your script logic.
instead of you can use TEXT
    PROMPT(TEXT,%,ENTITY_M%%,"Select Entity",)
    PROMPT(TEXT,%,SOURCE%%,"Select Source",)
    PROMPT(TEXT,%,TARGET%%,"Select Target",)
    INFO(%EQU%,=)

    TASK(PROCESS_CHAIN_RUNL,LOGICFILENAME,ACCOUNT_COPY_LOGIC.LGF)
    TASK(PROCESS_CHAIN_RUNL,REPLACEPARAM,SOURCE%EQU%%SOURCE%%TAB% TARGET%EQU%%TARGET%)
or you can modify your script like this
    *XDIM_MEMBERSET ACCOUNT=%ACCOUNT_SET%
    *XDIM_MEMBERSET ENTITY=%ENTITY_SET%
    And your Prompt like this
    PROMPT(SELECTINPUT,,,,"%ACCOUNT_DIM%,%ENTITY_DIM%,")
    TASK(PROCESS_CHAIN_RUNL,TAB,%TAB%)
    TASK(PROCESS_CHAIN_RUNL,EQU,%EQU%)
    TASK(PROCESS_CHAIN_RUNL,SUSER,%USER%)
    TASK(PROCESS_CHAIN_RUNL,SAPPSET,%APPSET%)
    TASK(PROCESS_CHAIN_RUNL,SAPP,%APP%)
    TASK(PROCESS_CHAIN_RUNL,SELECTION,%SELECTION%)
    TASK(PROCESS_CHAIN_RUNL,LOGICFILENAME,ACCOUNT_COPY_LOGIC.LGF
    I hope it helps

  • Use of Variable in Script Logic

    Dear All,
We are working on a BPC Script Logic involving depreciation calculation, which calls an implementation of the BAdI BADI_UJ_CUSTOM_LOGIC. We are passing some parameters from the script logic to the BAdI. There are two parameters to be passed: an account number (Account in which the posting will happen), and the rate (rate with which depreciation will be affected). The parameters are stored in the Dimension member of the account dimension and need to be fetched from there. We are using the following piece of code to achieve this:
    *INCLUDE FUNCTIONS.LGF
    [#PERC] = PRO([%ACCOUNT_DIM%].CURRENTMEMBER,DEP_PERCENTAGE)
    [#DEPACCOUNT] = PRO([%ACCOUNT_DIM%].CURRENTMEMBER,DEP_ACCT)
    *START_BADI DEPR
    QUERY = ON
    WRITE = ON
    DEPACCT = [#DEPACCOUNT]
    PERCENTAGE = [#PERC]
    *END_BADI
Here, FUCNTIONS.LGF contains the PRO function, which fetches the account and percentage properties from the account dimension member. Problem is, when we refer to the temporary variables within our code using the variables [#DEPACCOUNT] and [#PERC], we encounter a short dump for CX_SY_CONVERSION_NO_NUMBER. We suspect that instead of passing the parameter values, the logic is passing the variable name as the value. How do we rectify this? What is the correct syntax for passing such a parameter to the BAdI? Any ideas?
    Thanks in Advance,
    Sid

    Hi Ethan,
Thanks for the answer. Unfortunately, even after trying out your solution with K2 variables, we are getting the same dump, this time the log says:
An exception with the type CX_SY_CONVERSION_NO_NUMBER occurred, but was neither handled locally, nor declared in a raising clause
The argument '%PERC%' cannot be interpreted as a number
We are starting to think that maybe only substitution variables can be passed as parameter to the BAdI call, because whenever we use a local variable, we end up in passing the variable name to the BAdI, and not the variable value. We digged through the SAP Help, following is the excerpt from there:
Run the following instruction to call custom ABAP programs: where filter_value_of_your_BADI_implementation is the name of the filter you provided during the BADI implementation of UJ_CUSTOM_LOGIC BADI.
    *START_BADI <filter_value_of_your_BADI_implementation>
    <key1> = <value1>
    <key2> = <value2>
    *END_BADI
where filter_value_of_your_BADI_implementation is the name of the filter you provided during the BADI implementation of UJ_CUSTOM_LOGIC BADI.
Does this mean we can only pass <key>:<value> pairs, and not <key>:<variable> pairs? Is there any instance / documentation which points to this (or the contrary)?
    Awaiting answers.
    Thanks and Regards,
    Sid

  • 7.0NW: script logic to post data to another cube

    Hi,
On the 7.0NW we have a FINANCE cube (8 dimensions) and a FINANCE_DETAIL (12 dimensions) cube. I was hoping that someone could advise on how to transport data using script logic from FINANCE_DETAIL to FINANCE, knwoing that the SQL logic for the MS-platform is no longer applicable (DESTINATION_APP statement) on the NW-platform.
    Thx&Rgrds
    Bjorn

BPC7Nw supports ABAP development through script logic. You can use the keyword 'call custom logic' to execute the BADI that you developed. With SP01, you can also pass parameters to this BADI. Here are step by step instructions to do the same.
