Parameters not passin values to the report

Hi All
I have created a simple report using the report builder and i have very few columns. last name, first name, location, birthdate. Now i created a parameter on last name. I right clicked new parameter, gave the name as LastName.
Available Values: I selected get the values from the query
Dateset: Dataset1 (my sql datatset that i created)
ValueField:LastName
LabelField"LastName
DefaultValues:No Default Values
Clicked ok and run the report and in the Paramter i selected a value for the last name. But for some reason its showing all the records , its showing all the last names including the one i selected and not filtering.Please need help.

Well, you could easily force that by using a where statement in your query like this:
Where (LastName = @LastName or @LastName = 'All')
When the user typed in 'All' they would get everything, if they typed in 'Munshi' they would just get that.
A for why your parameter is not causing the dataset to only return matching rows, if what you say is true, it should be.
Perhaps you can post the whole query, and I'll take a look to see if I can spot what's wrong?

How does the data differs b/w Plan and actual for the same KF ?
It stores depending on the Version...
Restrict the KF to a perticular version ...
Then you can get the desired...
Check the LISTCUBE with different versions..

Date range to be displayed & Displaying multiple values on the report

Hi,
I have date range parameters, but I also need it to be displayed it on the report. Is there any way I can display it. E.G If a parameter is created one can drag and drop it on the report if it needs to be displayed on the report, I tried to do the same for the date range parameter but it does not work.
Also If a parameter is created by selecting the option 'Allow Multiple Values', and if you drag and drop it on the report only the first value is displayed and the rest does not show. Has anyone tried this before and been successful in displaying multiple values in the report.

Hi,
A multi-value parameter is actually treated as an array in Crystal Reports.
To display the values selected in the parameter, create a formula from the Field Explorer and type this code:
Join({?ParameterName},",");
Place this formula on the header or the footer sections of the report.
Regarding the date range issue, please follow Sastry's advice and it should work fine.
Make sure you're using the parameter in the Minimum and Maximum functions. For eg: If I was to create a date range parameter called OrderDate, my formula to show the start date would look like this:
Minimum({?OrderDate})

Udf Data is not being displayed in the report

Hi all,
i have designed one report in which i am displaying some udf fields along with other system fields.
i have not used any selection criteria.
when i run report it doesn't display udf data of some random rows in the report even if data is peresent in that udf field.
If i open sales order and press 'Shift-F2' and update the document and now if i run report then i get that udf value in the report.
why this happening. data is there in the udf field only its not displayed in the report with out updating the that udf.
pls suggest some solution.

Hi Ashish,
I ran the "ZPS/!ZPS" in RSRT where ZPS is the infoset name. In Dev, it displayed the values. In QA, it displayed the below messages:
ECharacteristic 0TCAKYFNM does not exist. Check authorizations
WThere are calculated elements. These results are bracketed [ ]
and below that, it displayed the values for Number of records. But, it has not displayed the values for the other figures.
Does this has any impact in QA.

# value in the report

Hi Gurus,
I Have joined in the proejct.
When I am executing a report. it is showing the following value in the Business Explorer
#/20230401
Though # is not there in the cube.
also profit center value is showing like this. ABAD/1443300
May i know the reason why we are getting this # and / values in the report. and how to suprress this as client doesnot want this

Function not returning value in Discoverer report

Hi All,
I am using a PL/SQL function in a Discoverer Report to return a particular date. The way I am using is that I have created a PL/SQL function and registered the same in Discoverer Administatrator.
My problem is that when i run the report this function returns NULL for one particular unit but when i run the same on toad as
'select max_term_dt_pkg.max_term_dt_fn('703813','OM - AWAITING_SHIPPING - 1179628') from dual'
it returns the date as 26-May-2009
Actually it should return a value in the report also.
Can anyone guide me what could be the problem.

There are no session variables to be set. I have myself created that and it is returning values for other units also.

Reports in EPM version 16 to be refreshed twice to see the values in the Report

Dear All,
We are on BPC 10 and EPM version 16. When we try to refresh the Reports in EPM 16, the first time, it does not bring any values, but when we refresh the second time, we get the values in the Report. Has anyone faced the similar issue like this, please let me know how it can be solved? When i execute the same report in EPM 13, the report gets the values in the first refresh itself.

Thanks for your help but as per the Note, I would like to check if this will help for my Report. As per the Note it says,
Resolution
A solution is to select the member Context(XXXX) in the 'EPM - Member selector' for the dimension initialized in page axis for the input schedule instead of referring to Sheet1 in the EPMOlapMember formula.
Another solution is to implement a macro via a button in the second sheet that contains the input schedule as follows:
Point 1: I have 6 sheets in this workbook, The Input Sheet which you see below is created by using a MACRO. Going to each sheet and changing the context would not help our users because they need to just refresh from the Input sheet.
Point 2: It says, to go to each sheet and create a MACRO which is also not feasible for our users. They require to have it in the Input sheet only.

Materialized view not being used in the report

I have had a materialized view (MV) for a particular report. Recently, the report definition has changed little bit, so the existing MV is not being used by the report anymore. I copied the code Discoverer's SQL Inspection and recreated the materialized view. But still it is not working. Obviously, I am missing something at the database level. Does anyone have any idea? The database is 9i and Discoverer is 9.0.2. Thank you!

The SQL that you see from the Inspect SQL option will provide you with the SQL that Discoverer sends to the database. The database then may do a query rewrite to point to an available materialized view if available. This rewrite won't be seen from the inspect sql option. You need to check at the database level to verify if a query rewrite did in fact take place.

Where clause is not being passed to the report

I just upgraded my crystal reports from 10.0 to 11 R2. Reports were working fine in 10.0 version,
Reports are called from vb.net (vissual studio 2005). When I was running this reports using crystal 10.0 and visual studio 2005, it was working fine, After the upgrade report runs but I am noticing that where clause is not being passed to the reports.It generates report as there is no where clause and produces multiple pages report.

How to get rid of unassigned values in the report

hai to all,
here is the issue,
while running a report(sales per country), iam getting the data,after that when i drill down on sales document number iam getting some unassigned data, with Sales document number as #, and some value in the keyfigure.what is the reason behind this?
Here is another issue that i want to find all the sales documents which have the value # in the report?, is it possible? the same case with Customer country, on the same report.

Hi Shyam.
Regarding the first issue: Well, you've loaded some data records into your cube where the "Sales Doc Field" is empty. Did you load through PSA? The best way to scan your PSA (I believe) is to find the underlying table and have a look at it via SE16. In this way you don't have to scan through every data single package. This can be done via "display data flow" from your cube and switch on technical names. There you have it. (It's called /BIC/B00...etcetc you might have to add i few zeroes though when you enter it into SE16). Get request ID from "Infocube Managment". In SE16 seelction screen use F2 to set the "sales Doc No." field even to blank.
Second issue is a bit easier: in your query (or a working copy of your query) restrict on "Sales Doc No" or "Customer Coutry" to only include value "#". In the same way you can remove the unassigned values be excluding value "#".

The LOV modal window could not return value to the base page

when practicing the "create1" task in tutorial, met an issue.
when create an employee, manageName is a messageLovInput and managerID is a messageTextInput.
The issue is the LOV modal window could not return value to the mangerName, but can return to managerID .
If I remove the data boud porperties of the managerName (the bc4j porperties of view name-EmpFullVO and view attribute-MgrName), the lov works fine.
What is the reason?

James I would suggest to read the LOV topic in OAF developers' guide. Lov mappings are responsible for bringing pop up values to base page in LOV.

"you are not authorized to view the report(s)" while access from custom fol

Hey all,
Becz of some requirement, i have customized SQR to store PDF output files into custom directory located in UNIX,
psreports/htst2/my_fodler.
When i try to access them using ViewContentURL or manually writing the follolwing URL into my browser while im being
in environment as syntaxed below
http://<webserver>/psreports/htst2/my_folder/my_pdf.pdf
the system kicks out of the system with the error "you are not authorized to view the report(s)" for all the users.
By default if i ran any report as distribution node setup all the PDF's are getting saved into...
/psreports/htst2/YYYYMMDD/CONTENT_ID/my_pdf.pdf
Those files im able to access like below
http://<webserver>/psreports/htst2/CONTENT_ID/my_pdf.pdf
Can anyone helpme out what is the difference and any workaround for this?

Fortunately, it is not allowed to go through all the path directories you want onto the server. If you want your report in a specific folder, then rewrite your code to create the output file where you want, after the admin give you the proper grant against that folder.
