Parent and owner field on Account gives error read-only

We have Integration with backend ERP with C4C solution. We want to populate the Owner and Parent account field of Account through custom partner functions through HCI. We get the error that field is read-only.
We have not been able to do so and any pointers to do that is appreciated.
If above is not possible we are thinking to get the values in a custom field on Cloud and then do studio development to populate the Owner and Parent Account field using Cloud development. When we try that , the error we encounter says field is Read-only.

Hi Apoorva,
We are integrating C4C with SAP CRM so I'm not using what I found below but this should be helpful hopefully.
You can check in HCI the iflow "Customer Master to SAP Cloud for Customer" in the SAP ECC package. In there you can find easily the piece with partner functions which I'm sure will be helpful for your scenario (see screenshot below). After that depending on the Partner Functions configuration in C4C and the Mapping (you can find both these things by just following the Activity List of an Implementation Project if you selected the SAP ECC Integration in scoping), it should be fairly easy.
For the Parent Account you probably need to use the other iflow on "Account Hierarchy replication to SAP Cloud for Customer".
It's a much simpler iflow, see below.
In both cases of course the IDOCs will need to be activated in ECC, but this should already be the case for the main Business Partner one if you have the integration on, and check the generic integration guides as well (check https://service.sap.com/cloud4customer for some great guides).

The message is correct. You can only register a product once... there is no need to register again after you do it the first time. You can re-install and activate with the serial number, but there is no need to re-register.

Make certain fields in the Account Detail Page Read-Only based on a Checkbo

I think you'd need to use dynamic page layouts for this. Look at the Account type values, if you are already using it then replicate those values you have so if you have Business and Personal make it Business Read-only and Personal Read-only.
When you are ready to lockdown those fields change the Account type from Business to Business Readonly and have the page layout for this screen with Account type, Name, Primary address and phone number as read only. You will a separate page layout for yourself so that Account Type stays as writable for you.
You will need to check if you can have Account Name as read only as it is a required field.

IDOC mapping issue (calculation using parent and child fields)

We are mapping an IDOC to a file for output to a third party. The IDOC has many segments, some of which are embedded. This is where I'm having the issue. I am trying to perform a calculation on a field from the parent node (E1EDP01-MENGE) with the field from the child node (E1EDP05-KRATE) to determine the total tax for that line (qty X rate).
Issue: The mapping that is in place is using the same MENGE value for all calculations, even where the E1EDP01 segment is not a parent of the E1EDP05 segment.
Please review the screen prints and explain how I can correctly group the E1EDP05 child segments rate field (KRATE) with the corresponding parent segment E1EDP01 quantity (MENGE).
Example:
Parent segment, E1EDP01 / Child segment E1EDP05 (There are many E1EDP05 segments for 1 E1EDP01 segment)
E1EDP01 (parent node)
E1EDP05 (child node)
Target structure
ITEM (parent) --->E1EDP01 is mapped at node level
-->ITEM_DATA --->E1EDP01 is mapped at node level
-->ITEM_TAX --->E1EDP01 is mapped at node level
 -->(fields for item_tax)
 -->Record type
 -->Invoice number
 -->Line total
 -->etc...
I am mapping (E1EDP01-MENGE) for calculation with (E1EDP05-KRATE) to determine tax at the line item level. I have the context set at each Node, E1EDP01 for MENGE and E1EDP05 for KRATE. I was using CopyValue, but this was using the frist occurence of MENGE for all line items.
mapping example
*I am using MENGE (Copy_Value) then multiplying by KRATE to get the line item total. This was causing the same MENGE (because of Copy_Value) for all line items.

I removed the CopyValue and now I'm getting the following error:
Cannot produce target element /ns0:MT_DTN_INVOICE1/INVOICE/ITEM/ITEM_TAX[3]/LINE_TOTAL. Check xml instance is valid for source xsd and target-field mapping fulfills requirements of target xsd
How can I map this so the child records (E1EDP05) are grouped with the correct parent records (E1EDP01)?

Group and Owner fields blank when viewing Service Request results via UWQ

When looking at a row that represents a service request in either the UWQ or View Service Requests (search form) the group and owner columns are blank only for some of my users.
If you look at the detail for the SR, there is a owner and group.
Not sure what the issue is..? Inherited this role.

Which release is this occuring? At the first glance it looks like an issue that cropped up in 11.5.3. and has been fixed since.

Newly created folders give "staff" read-only permission

When I create a new folder in my home directory it has the following permissions:
Me: Read & Write
staff: Read only
everyone: No Access
Other (non-admin) accounts seem to belong to staff and thus have read access to any non-standard folders in my main (admin) home directory.
1) How can I change the staff permissions on these folders (Finder gives me an error)? Is this only possible using sudo chmod?
2) How can I change the default permissions to stop giving default access to all users through the staff group?

The easiest solution is just not to keep confidential folders that you create yourself at the top level of Home. You could instead create a single enclosing folder to hold that all that extra material, call it, say, "My Other Stuff", and put it in your Documents folder where it would be protected from all other users. You could then create descriptive subfolders within in it, which would also be protected.
If you still instead want to alter the permissions of folders that you create yourself and you don't want to use Terminal, take a look at [BatChmod|http://www.macchampion.com/arbysoft/BatchMod/Welcome.html].

[SOLVED] Strange Hard Drive Errors - Read Only Filesystem?

Solution: Discard old laptop, buy new laptop
I have an Acer Aspire 5103WLMi. For about 2 months now, Arch has been running smoothly. Until 2 weeks ago.
It all started when I tried to install and configure autofs on Arch x86_64. On the next reboot, all manner of errors were printed to the screen, to the effect that the internal hard drive was only being mounted read-only, rendering the system unusable. I tried to find a solution, but there were no references to read-only anywhere; fstab, grub etc. None that I could find.
I tried reinstalling. However, x86_64 Arch refused to boot properly first time due to the exact same error; and I *know* that I'm configuring everything correctly. I managed (somehow) to coerce i686 Arch to install, and things "work".
Seemingly out of the blue, during normal operation, all running applications will stop, and spit out error after error to the effect of "Cannot Write to Read Only Filesystem!". Sakura won't load (Input/Output error, apparently), and the only way to shut down the laptop is a hard reset (I can't log in as root or use sudo because it wants to write to the filesystem first, which it obviously can't.
Now, I'm going to be giving the insides of this laptop a good cleanout this weekend, and I'm in the process of backing up all of my data, but I was wondering if anyone else has come across a similar form of misbehaviour; or (with a bit of luck) some potential solutions?
This is very peculiar, because there seems to be no reason why the laptop suddenly loses write permissions to the hard drive. Cheers.
Edit: I think I should point out that my /boot partition is Ext2, and / and /home are Ext3

Everything being either Old_age or Pre-fail is not encouraging. Additionally, in the output is what I believe to be records of what caused my strange read-only behaviour:

Oh, and kclive18, after I noticed that I couldn't get onto my Drive, I reinstalled arch, leaving no trace of /etc/autofs/auto.media.
Additionally, somehow I have now been able to install Arch x86_64, but the problems still occur...

Give user Read-Only access to one table in a database.

Does anyone know how to give a user account Read-only access to 1 table within a SQL Server Database using SQL Server Management Studio? I don't want the account to be able to access any other tables in the database, just the one table. I'm not a sql programmer,
so if there is a way to do it in Sql Server Managment Studio settings that would be the best.

Make a field required on record creation, read only after that

Does anyone know of a way to make a pick-list field required on record creation, but read-only after that? The other twist to this is that we need to allow this field to also be read-write for all the integration edits, since this field's value could change in the enterprise database.

I think you can add a validation rule for that. Something like :
IIf(PRE('<YOURFIELD>') IS NULL, <> '', = PRE('<YOURFIELD>'))
This means that if the previous value of your field is null (it's a creation), so the value must be different than blank. Else, it must be equal to the previous value, so not modified.
I didn't tested it, but I let you get back to me if it works... or not !
You'll just have to add a message saying that this field is required on creation and readonly after...

If u want these field editable(read/write) u need to create GET_I_XX method for these fields and write
rv_disabled = 'FALSE'.
First enhance ur view then create GET_I_XX method of that attribute of this node.
U can check any standard node for ur refrence for example BTAdminH.

Exchange 2007 New Install Error - Read only MultiValuedProperty does not support this operation

Existing Server/Exchange 2003 environment. New 2003 R2 x64 server fully patched and updated with no other apps installed attempting to install Exchange 2007 SP2.
Initially I was getting the error "Could not find the default Administrative Group ‘Exchange Administrative Group (FYDIBOHF23SPDLT)’". This I
fixed by completely uninstalling per this Microsoft article,
this Microsoft FixIt article and this recommended blog post, ending with
setup.com /preparead. I'm making progress, because now I'm getting a new error attempting the install. Specifically, Hub Transport installation fails with "Read only MultiValuedProperty does not support this operation."
Executing
setup.com /prepareSchema fails. I've set the msExchVer attribute for CN=Offline Address Lists to 4535486012416 and gotten no change, the install still fails. This

SP2013 and Project 2013 - project files open in read-only mode with no options to edit only Save As

Environment:
SharePoint 2013 (15.0.4420.1017) RTM
Windows 8 - Project 2013 (15.0.4433.1506) 32Bit
Issue details:
When opening .mpp files stored within SharePoint they are opened successfully within Project 2013 however they are opened in Read-Only mode with no options to edit/check out only Save As. The
same outcome is experienced if you click the document link within SharePoint or you chose to edit from the document menu.
Opening the file through windows explorer also opens only in read-only mode.
To date we’ve tested the following
Windows 7 – Office 2010 = working as expected
Windows 8 – Office 2010 = working as expected
Windows 7 – Office 2013 = opening as read only, no prompt to edit
Windows 8 – Office 2013 – opening as read only, no prompt to edit
Current thinking is that it is an issue with either the SharePoint Office Documents Class ActiveX control or Project 2013 itself interacting with SharePoint 2013.
We have tested this in multiple SP2013 environments with the same outcomes.
The workaround therefore is to save locally and then upload again which is not ideal.
Unable to find an exact issue match to this.
Any help with this appreciated.

For us after investigating this further it was found that using the document menu to edit or checkout and then edit results in the project file being opened in read-only mode.
The same issue was present for Visio files.
Using the FILES ribbon menu results in the document being opened in edit mode successfully in both Project and Visio.
Please note that we found that this issue only exists within document libraries where checkout is required to edit which was our case. If checkout is not required the document
menu can also be used as expected.

Filter criteria on added field in VF04 gives error and does not filter

I have added a filed WBS to the output of VF04 using a exit. What I did was added the wbs filed to the table VKDFIF table and then used the exit ZXV6PU08 to get the values in the VF04 output. The display output for VF04 does bring in the values for the WBS field that I added . NOw when I want to do a filter on the field it pops out an error message :WBS element 00000 does not exist. But when I fill in the selection criteria in the filetr screen in ranges i.e lower value and upper value it displays me the filtered value, its only when I enter values in the lower range only it pops out a message saying the value does not exist and it does not do the filter.
Can anyone please tell why this is happening and how it can be fixed?

I ahve a program which finds the user exit for any transaction and I used that for VF04 and choose the right exit applicable to your requirement. This will lead us to the user-exit , I chose V60P0001 form the list for my requirement and when you drill down it will take you to the desired program include zxv6pu08.
