Parent-Child problem

Hi, I'm new in JDeveloper and I have a problem with a screen with dependences
I will explain:
I have a screen with Areas that it has Departaments and Departaments has positions so when I am in departaments and execute query with execute botton the positions disappear and only if I close the window and reload de application without execute a query they appear,
Does somebody know what can be ?
Please help me.

I am trying to map an existing legacy Oracle schema that involves a base class table and two subclass tables that are related by a one-to-many relationship which is of a parent-child nature.
The following exception is generated. Can anybody provide a suggestion to fix the problem?

Thanks for the thoroughness. There was a mistake in moving the code over for the forum. The field names are correct throughout the original source code.
BASE_OBJECT_ID is used throughout.
I suspect the problem lies in the one-to-many sampleItem(s) relationship that is based upon the subclassed item class. (The relationship is actually "sampleItems" in the real code and somehow got changed in the move over.)
The problem may lie in the mapping of the attribute override in the child class to the referencing of the item class from the parent side of the relationship in the Sample class.
I further suspect this may be specific to Eclipselink based upon other postings I've seen on the web that have similar problems...
Any thoughts?

Parent Child Hiearchy - Expand/Collapse problems

Hello,
We are on 11.1.1.6 and have built a parent child hierarchy on one of our dimensions. Navigation of the hierarchy works just fine if no measures are included. When a measure is added, the hierarchy becomes nearly unnavigable. That is to say clicking on the plus/minus signs doesn't work. Clicking in various locations of the screen can sometimes get it to work but it is ridiculously hard to get anywhere. The fact table from which the measure is pulled is very small, approx. 100,000 rows so we don't see that as the problem.
Has anybody else seen such a problem?

Can you provide more info on this, how have you modeled the hierarchy with the fact table, are you rolling up the measures for the child to the parent level (modeling as measures) or each employee is showing its own revenue only (modeled as attribute)? If it is modeled as measures where you join the employee table to the closure table and then that to fact table then are you applying any filters in your report ? If you are applying filters in your report and somehow only parent is filtered (and not its children) then you won't be able to drill down, though you will see the + sign against it.

Problem creating standard ECC Parent-Child Hierarchy in HANA

Hi all -
I've been trying to get a hierarchy to work on the front end of a stand alone HANA system using profit center hierarchy data from SETLEAF / SETNODE tables from ECC. Here is how my test hierarchy looks:
Following another post I found around here, I created an attribute view and filtered SETNAME to 'TST_HANA'.
The resulting data when connected to my attribute view caused an error that there was no root node, so I manually inserted the last row shown here (where PCA_PARENT = SETNAME and PCA_CHILD = SUBSETNAME):
Finally, I created my parent-child hierarchy in the attribute view and connected that view to my data foundation in the analytic view via left-outer join between Profit Center and VALFROM. However, when I go to connect to my view via MDX in excel, I get the following message:
"Hierarchy create error: Multiple parents not allowed for hierarchy node TST_ND1" Clearly from the data, there aren't multiple parents for TST_ND1. It's already a pain that to use a standard hierarchy I have to manually insert a root node, but that doesn't even seem to fix the problem.
Can anyone suggest how to fix this to get a standard profit center hierarchy working?

According to me, Hierarchy level will work fine in ms excel for all analytical, calculation view using MDX Provider..
Do you have any composite primary key or composite foreign key in the tables....
r u getting correct level hierarchy output in Hana studio... plz check with all types of permutation possible.if u r getting correct output in analytical view w.r.t hana but fails to get in Ms excel..
please create Calculation view of that.. & then check the output in ms-excel..

Parent/child fonts problem

Hi all
I'm developing a program which has been writing out servicable PDF files for a few months, with embedded Truetype fonts; the files open without problem and display correctly. However, I am now trying to write out parent/child fonts (to allow character sets other than Latin) and I'm running into problems, even though I think I'm obeying the PDF spec.
Specifically, when I open the PDF, my font is not used. In the Document properties, Fonts tab, only the parent font is displayed, and at the bottom of the dialog, the following appears: "Gathering font information... (0%)".
Presumably, that means there is at least one mistake in my font declarations. The relevant sections from my PDF are as follows; I wonder if anyone can see anything obviously wrong? Note that there are many more figures in object 5's width collection, but I have removed them for the sake of brevity.

Many thanks, Irosenth. I made the fixes you suggested, but still no luck (I still get 0% loading in the fonts tab). Looking at the preflight report on my new PDF, it lists "missing font" for each font I'm trying to embed (e.g. 'missing font "traditionalarabic"', so there's still something wrong in my PDF output.

Problem with saving Parent - Child View Objects in ADF 11g.

I have a requirment, something like I will be displaying some data on my jsff screen based on one Transient View Object. Whenever user clicks on Save button, I have to do following steps in my AMImpl.
-> Preapre dynamically Parent View Object Rows based on some logic
-> Prepare dynamically Child View object Rows and invoke insertRow method on respective child view object.
When I say commit() First Parent ViewObject data need to be saved and then Child View object data has to be saved. I am having Parent - Child Key relation ship btw these two ViewObjects. Some how I am populating the Parent Primary key in the Child View Object. Please suggest me If there is any other alternative to this.

I got the solution, Enabling the check box option for Master - Detail Entity association (CompositionAssociation -> Cascade Update Key Attributes) resolved the issue.

Parent-Child Socket Problem

I have two processes with a Parent-Child relationship.
The child communicates to the parent over a socket.
If I say "run" from my Eclipse IDE for each separately they work fine and the child can connect to the parent.
However, if I have the parent start the child (Runtime.exec) the child always gets "Connection refused: connect" when it tries to connect to the parent.
The parent is already initialized and has a thread doing an accept on the connection port.
I'm running on Windows XP.
Any idea why I get connection refused only when the parent starts the child?

Problems with Centralized No Delegation DNS with forest wide replication in a Parent-Child domain

Hi,
I have a parent domain "parent" with a child domain "child" as shown below. There are no delegations and DNS replication is set to forest wide DNS replication for both the child and parent zone. I've read that forest wide replication
in this scenario is not recommended, but no one explains why.
Also, running "dcdiag /test:dns" produces the warning below (expected as child is not a DNS zone)

Warning: The Active Directory zone on this DC/DNS server was not found (probably a misconfiguration)
I'm looking at upgrading the domain, then forest functional level to 2008, but want to ensure that this DNS config doesn't cause any issues.
Hoping someone can advise.
The only thing I've noticed is that some SRV records for DCs are not up to date when viewed from other DCs (dns diagnostics and event logs report OK) and all else seems OK.

What is the current domain/forest functional level?
Normally I would expect to see three dns forward lookup zones in a 2 domain (Parent/Child) environment
2 zones if the domain/forest level is 2000/2003 where the _msdcs zone has not been moved to its own forward lookup zone - see image below
In your environment I would expect to see 3 zones (_msdcs.parent.com, parent.com, child.parent.com) on every domain controller because all zones are replicated forest wide.
I would also expect to see 2 delegation records under the parent.com for _msdcs and child
I know you stated there was no delegations, and would like to understand better by what you mean. Not saying that anything is configured wrong just trying to get clarification on your environment to give you the best answer from the community as possible.

Tabular - Parent/Child hierarchy - hide duplicated rows problem

Hi All, in all the Tabular parent-child hierarchy examples I could find a measure is created to calculate current node depth. Later that measure [CurrentNodeDepth] is compared with aggregated node depth using MAX/MIN functions. The current node depth measure
uses ISFILTERED DAX functions like
CurrentNodeDepth := IF (ISFILTERED ('Hierarchy'[Level3]), 3,IF (ISFILTERED ('Hierarchy'[Level2]), 2, IF (ISFILTERED ('Hierarchy'[Level1]), 1)))
All works ok until you start filtering the hierarchy - that might happen with very big hierarchies - showing only part of hierarchy to speed up calculations. Once you set a filter there, [CurrentNodeDepth] measure gives wrong output and whole parent-child hierarchy
doesn't work as it should.

How to allow Sharepoint users to login from multiple parent-child accounts?

Our client has mutliple AD domains and wants to allow people which have multiple AD accounts in multiple domains to login as THE SAME user:
- only primary account will be visible in search
- there will be only one user profile with all informations gathered from all sub accounts
- permissions for the sub account will be in sync with parent account
- task generated for parent will be visible for child accouns too etc
- ad admin can link the account together in the Active Directory - this link is permament (even if we move users to another OU) and ad admin can define which account is primary and secondary (parent/child)
How we can implement this in Sharepoint 2010 Std Server?

Everything in SharePoint keys of the Security Identifier (SID) of a user. Each user in a domain has a unique SID, so there is no way to have multiple users recognized in SharePoint as the same user.

No data for Parent-child hierarchy column in Pivot table view

Hi all,
I used OBIEE 11.1.1.6.2 Version.
I drag one Parent-child hierarchy column and one measure and show result with a pivot table view.
But when I click "+" icon to show detail level data,
It messaged that: "*the layout of this view combined with the data,selections,drills,or prompt values chosen resulted in no data*."
But it can show every-level data when I used table view.
It was so strange..
Did anybody meet this before?

Yes, I have the same problem with pivot table for hierarchy dimension.
If you use a normal table (not pivot) it seem to work. Unfortunatley with restrictions as normal table view have.
Same problem still exist in 11.1.1.6.5

Insert Record with Parent/Child Tables doesn't work with Oracle - unlike AC

I just Migrated a MS Access 2010 Database to an Oracle 11g Backend with the SQL Developer Tool.
The Migration went fine, all the Tables and Views are migrated.
I'm working with MS Access as Frontend.
The application has some Datasheets with Subdatasheets with Parent/Child Relationship. (1-n Relationship)
After changing to Oracle, it's not possible, to Insert a new Record in a Subdatasheet I always get the following Error Message:
"The Microsoft Access database engine cannot find a record in the table 'xxxx' with key matching field(s) 'zzzzz'"
It used to work perfect with the MS Access Backend, do I need a trigger which first adds the child Record ?
Or what should I do?

Thanks for your answer. I still haven't solved my problem. The only way would be to use a singel 1:n Relationship, but in fact I need a n:m Relationship.
I tried the same scenario with a new Access Application, same result.
To clearify my problem.
Goal: Parent Form with Parent Records, Linked Child Form with Child Records in a Datasheet View => Insert of a NEW Child Record.
I have 3 Tables (table1 = Parent tabel, table2 = Child Table, table12 = n:m Tabel with PK and two FK)
The Recordsource of the Parent Form is Tabel1
The Recordsource of the Child Form is Table2 joined with Table12.
In my Old Access Project, Access Triggered the Insert and filled Table12 with the NEW PK of Table2.
It seems like Access can't do that anymore....
I'm pretty desperate and I'm sure it is just a litte thing to fix.....

Representating Hierarchical (Parent-Child) relation graphically using Swing

I have to represent a hierarchical data which is having Parent-Child relation using Swing. I am not able to upload the image overhere, so I am represnting the data in such a way so that one can understand this problem. If anyone knows how to upload image on Sun forum, please let me know it will be great help for me.

The data needs to be represented in two formats-
1. Tabular Format
I am able to represent data in this format using combination of JTree and JTable. The data is getting represented in tabular format and I am able to expand and collapse the parent nodes to see the childs. The tabular data will look like below structure,

This representation should be created at runtime using the hierarchical data. Also the parent and child relations should be expandable/collapsible as they are in JTree.
I am not able to find any component or any solution in Swing which can provide me this graphical representation. It will be great help if anyone can help me out in this.

Why in case of parent child relation iterator fetching one duplicate record

JDev Ver : 11.1.1.2.0
Technology : JPA/TopLik Service Facade Data Control (Without using BC4J)
I have created JPA/TopLink service facade from DB Tables and on facades I have crated DataControl which I have draged and droped on my screen to create input text, table etc.
In my application, I have many tables having one to many relationships. (Primarykey foreign key).
When I add more then one child columns (foreign key columns) for any one parent column (primary key column), in db its getting inserted properly but in iterator after refreshing also it showing one duplicate entry instead of actual entry.
e.g.
For one Account Id 1234 (primary key) , I am adding 3 account holders name (abc, xyz, pqr) in this case in db its inserting proper 3 entries but in iterator its showing
1234 abc
1234 xyz
1234 abc
so instead of pqr its again showing abc.
To select account holders name I have used selectManyShuttle components.
I have also tried tried dciter.refresh(DCIteratorBinding.RANGESIZE_UNLIMITED); to refresh iterator.
This is generic problem on most of the screen in my application where parent child relation comes.
