Parent Total and Parent Currency Total

Can you please explain the what is the parent total and parent currency total ...
please correct me if this wrong
parent total is the total of the previous level plus any adjustments applying to the specified parent
the parent curr total is the total of the translated value plus any adjustments applying to all parents

Parent Currency is the default currency set in the metadata attribute for the Parent Entity, for Example
Parent: Australia Consolidated (USD)
Child: Australia (AUD)
Child: Indonesia (IDR)
The parent currency is USD
If you allow adjustments in Australia Consolidated then you can book an entry in Parent Adjs and so your parent Currency Total would show the consolidated number in USD for Australia consolidated plus the adjustments made at the parent.

  • Difference between parant total and parent adj total?

    hi experts.
What is the difference between Parent total and Parent adj total in value dimension? can you explain with a simple example.
    Your comments will be appreciated
    Thanks
    Sarath

    Hi Sarath,
Hope the below can help you.
Parent Totals: when you save data, financial management automatically calculates totals for the parent members of the dimension hierarchy.
ex : if you enter and save data for the hotel and meals members, a total is calculated for their parent total expenses. ; here the data does not aggregate to parent members until consolidation occurs.
Parent Adjustment : If entities roll up to more than one parent, you can create parent adjustment. Parent adjustments enables you to apply an adjustment for a child to a selected parent, rather than to all parents.
Parent adjustments are available only for parent entities for which the AllowAdjFromchildren application setting is selected.
    thank you

  • Transaction code for sales order totals and purchase order totals

Hi i am using alv grid report to display the sales order and purchase order totals by productline(profit center)
Now i have to call standard transactions from first list to display the totals of sales order and purchase order.I have to display these transctions for specfic orders and their specfic lineitems only.
in VA05n transaction it is allowing me to enter only the document numer but not item.
Can any one help to find the standard transaction to display the totals for only specific orders and line specific line items

    Hi Polite,
The transaction CRMD_ORDER is the superset for all the transactions mentioned by you. So it is better to remember just one transaction instead of remembring the subsets . Once you use the transaction CRMD_ORDER and then Follow the menu Business transaction -> Create (F5) you will get the list of transactions you can create this is nothing but the the transactions you have mentioned.
If you know the transaction no. you can directly open that in transaction CRMD_ORDER. The other opetion is to use the SAP Menu instead of transactions.
    <b>Reward points if it helps!!</b>

    colum total
The problem is that even though the calculation seems to be right, the final total, colum totals and some of the line totals don't update. The sum remains zero.
Could there be a wrong tab order? Could somebody tell me the right order? I've tried several variations, but I just can't get it work . Could somebody help me please?
    Thanks in advance!

It's most likely an incorrect field calculation order, which is not at all related to the tab order. In case you don't know how to set it, select "Forms > Add or Edit Fields" to go into form editing mode, and then select "Forms > Edit > Set Field Calculation Order".
Arrange the order so it makes sense, which looks like it should be:
    col 2 total
    col 3 total
    col 4 total
    Row 1 total
    Row 2 total
    Row 3 total
    Row 4 total
    Row 5 total
Other arrangements might be just a correct, but it's important that the row totals are in that order. You should also check it again when you have the form ready to distribute to make sure it hasn't changed as you've done further editing.

  • Weekly Group Total and associated YTD total

    Hello,
I need to show current week group total and total year to date of the same group.  My columns are Model, Department, Issue.  Currently, the report is grouped on Model, Department and Issue with a filter for date.  Can this be done?   Thank you

Create a formula field, say {@Current Week Amount} as (basic syntax):
    if datepart("ww", {datefield}) = datepart("ww", CurrentDate) then
      formula = {amount}
    else
      formula = 0
    end if
You can then sum() this, or place it in a detail line, or whatever.  It will only have a (non-zero) value when the date field is in the current week.

    hi,
you must use "w_fieldcat-do_sum = 'X'" and change your layout like :
    w_sort-fieldname = 'FIELD'.
      w_sort-tabname   = 'TABNEME'.
      w_sort-up        = 'X'.
      w_sort-subtot    = 'X'.
      APPEND w_sort TO i_sort.

  • Account calculation vs. Entity currency total

    Hi all,
I'm trying to solve one issue regarding an account calculation...
This calculation is simple one and calculates the ratio between several accounts. Let's say C = A / B.
I want this calculation to be run not only for <Entity currency>, but also for <Entity currency adjustments> and <Entity currency total>. For <Entity currency> and <Entity currency adjustments> it's working correctly and it calculates the ratio. But for <Entity currency total> it simply sums <Entity currency> and <Entity currency adjustments> which is not good.
How to force HFM to use the calculation also for <Entity currency total> and override the default setting which just sums <Entity currency> and <Entity currency adjustments>?
    BR
    Vladino

    Hi,
I have tried this but this is not working... See the printscreen: http://i52.tinypic.com/2hq8kdw.jpg
    Here is the rule:
    Sub Calculate()
    HS.EXP "A#c = A#a / A#b"
    End Sub
Accounts "a" and "b" are set to revenue type, account "c" is balance type.
    Any other idea?

  • Line Totalling and page totalling in smartforms?

    Hi,
Any ideas about displaying line totals and page/grand totals in smartform. Answers would be appreciated.
    thanks

    Hi..,
in TABLE you will have one tab called CALCULATIONS..
in that select the type as TOTAL and give the field name for which u want to find out the total. and give the resultant field into which u want the total to be stored !! and select AFTER LOOP in the next list box...
in the footer you just write this field name. u will get the cumulative total for each .. i mean for second page the total of ( the first page and second page) will get printed !!
if u want the total for each page then u need to write a program line for the table.. to clear the total field for each page !!
    reward if it helps u,

  • Difference between Parent and Parent Curr Adjs

    Hi gurus,
Kindly explain the difference between the Parent Adjs and Parent Curr Adjs.
    Thanks in advance

Consider two members in the entity dimension "A" and "B" now both these members have a child as "C". Where "C" is the shared member. Now if you pass a Journal at <Parent Curr Adjs> of "C" then this journal entry has an affect on both the parents "A" and "B". Whereas if you pass an entry at <Parent Adjs> of"C" then you can also select the parent which you want to get affected by the same.
    Hope this is helpful

  • Difference between parent currency and parent in value dimension

    Hi
Dear friends please tell me about following:
1.Difference between <Parent Currency> and <Parent> in value dimension and its significance.
2.Difference between <Parent Currency Adjs.> and <Parent Adjs.> in value dimension and its significance.

When you have an entity which contributes to two or more parent entities, you can specify if an adjustment applies and contributes to all parent entities or the selected entity.
    1. Create the adjustment to <Parent Curr Adjs> and the adjustment value contributes to all parents.
    2. Create the adjustment to [Parent Adjs] and you can select which parent entity you want the adjustment value to contribute to.
<Parent Currency> is where the translation happens.
<Parent Curr Total> is the total of the translated value plus any adjustments applying to all parents -i.e. <Parent Curr Adjs>
[Parent] simply carries the <Parent Curr Total> numbers to the next level of the value hierarchy
[Parent Total] is the total of the previous level plus any adjustments applying to the specified parent -i.e. [Parent Adjs]

  • Entity Currency Adj, Parent Currency adj for Parent-child with same currenc

    Hi,
In 11.1.2.1 I noticed that if parent and base entity currencies are same, entity currency and entity currency adjustments equal parent currency and parent currency adjustments respectively. If the currencies are different, the entity currency total gets translated to parent currency and post that, we can pass adjustments at PCA level.
I had an understanding that Entity Currency total always rolls upto Parent currency irrespective of whether the currencies of base and parent are same/different.
Is this something new with version 11 or has it always been like this?
    Thanks,
    S

I don't follow your explanation. To be very clear: <Parent Curr Adjs> is NOT the translation of <Entity Curr Adjs>. This will never happen. HFM takes <Entity Curr Total> and translates that into the target currency. The only time <Parent Curr Adjs> will equal <Entity Curr Adjs> is when they are indeed the very same currency. In that case there is no translation but instead two names for the same data set.

  • Calculating Percent totals and Averages in SSRS

Below is a report created using SSRS. I want to be able to calculate the percentage(%) total to add up to 100 % in the Total column. For some reason my averages are not working as you can see from the table. The idea is to calculate the averages of opportunities
as well as Sold. But from my calculation, things are not adding up as I supposed. This report is not grouped by parent. How do I make this to work as it should? Thank you.
(NB: Please zoom in to view the image)
    Zionlite

    Hi,
According  to the description, I doubt you may manually add Total and Averages columns. Did you manually add Local and International or they were in a column group?
You can use the following expression for the Opportunity Cost(averages) column in the total row:
    =Sum(Fields!opportunitycost.Value)/2
How did you calculate the percentage column? If it is Sold value divided by Opportunity Cost value, use:
    =Sum(Fields!sold.Value)/Sum(Fields!opportunitycost.Value)
Also try to define the scope in the expression and see if it make difference.
If there is no progress, please capture the screenshot of your design tab.(Click on the report and capture the image of your report structure)
Also, tell us the expression of the text box which in problem.
    Thanks.

  • Customer Aging Report totals and detail is different

    Hi Experts,
I have a customer aging report and i find something odd with the total column in local currency and System Currency.
    for Example :
    Customer _______Total_______Future Remit_______0-30________31-60________61-90________90+
    ____A100   _______1000_____________ 300________200_________100__________200_________300
Total Column doesn't show the correct value.
    It should be 300200100200300 = 1100 and it's only show 1000
and if i click at the row number to show the details, the total on the detail form shows the correct value
It is not happening in FC currency
    Anyone has any idea?
