Parsing SAP IDOC files
Hello Experts,
I want to parse the outgoing idoc invoice file.i mean when a invoice is generated in SAP then a idoc file is created and i want to read the data from the out file like which all fields are there and what all data does it have. I want to extract the necessary info out of the IDOC files .
Is there an easy way of doing this ,I am new to R/3,any help would be highly appreciated.
Thanks
Abhishek
hi,
check out the database tables EDIDC and EDID4, there you will find the idoc-data, including INVOIC. by reading the needed lines from EDID4 and copying them in the given structures, you can easily extract the needed data.

Parsing a IDoc file in the Java
Hi experts,
Could you point me to some article or documentation where is described how to parse a IDoc file. My IDoc file is not a XML but a old format e.g:
E2PITYP001 11000000000000390060000070000010301P 999995829999 1800010199991231
1. I've found out that I should use a JCO. In the version 3 there is a example how to parse a XML IDoc, but this is not my case.
2. Do I need to connect to the SAP server during a IDoc parsing?
3. I would really appreciate a example.
4. Is this requirements feasibility with JCO, or do I have to write my own parser?
Best Regards
Andrejhi Andrej,
To level of my understanding You have a Idoc and you want to read that one
1. not with use of xml
2. may with file format
keeping 2 option check this thread

Read/write operation on SAP IDOC file
Hi All,
We are developing an application, which will be used for registering and processing of travel data for a client.One of itu2019s functionality is to get the data from external system in different format(like CSV, Excel, Fixed Flat file, XML, main frame file, DBF and SAP IDOC) and import it into Oracle databases.
One of the design considerations for it, is to read these files and convert it into predefined XML format
and then import these data from XML to oracle database.
Currently we are analyzing the requirement and trying to find out all the Open Source JAVA API which can convert these different format files to predefined XML format, using some mapping file.
We have found out Open Source JAVA API for all the file format, except SAP IDOC files.
Any Java API to read/write the SAP IDOC file, Please advise

Issues in SAP(Idoc)-XI-File scenario
Dear All,
I am working on SAP(Idoc)-XI-File scenario. But in the Receiver agreement i am not able to see the idoc in order to specify some conditions there.
Please suggest if I have to do any settings in order to specify some conditions in the idoc.
Warm Regards,
N.JainHi nishu jain ,
U can specify the conditions in Reciever Determination.
1.Go to Scenarios
2.Choose your business scenario
3.Click Service without party
4.Double click Reciever Determination
5.U wil get screen in which there is a option called Configured Recievers.
6.Click there.then u wil get the screen with
Left Operand Op Right Operand
7.There u can specify the condition.
Reward points if u find this useful.......

SAP IDOC shows status 03, but no file is written
We have SAP configured to generate delivery IDOCs when the SAP Delivery document is posted/saved. The IDOC is initially created with status 30. There is batch job RSEOUT00 every 30 mins that collects the IDOCs in status 30 and converts to status 03. When we review the IDOC processing screen, even though they are in status 03 and successfully written outside of SAP to a folder, there is no file in the folder. We are missing IDOCs. There is no real time external system integration. We are simply trying to write IDOC files to a folder.
Can you some please share your insights on how to resolve this issue?
Thanks in advance
SatishRFC destinations, Logical systems, and then Partner profiles needs to be maintained. and You need to create the Distribution model in sender system.

How does XI pick up idoc-file sitting in SAP?
Hi All,
Our scenario is SAP (Idoc) --> XI --> Bank(FTPS). We are creating idoc-file in SAP system and want transfer this file using XI to bank FTP server.
This what we done in SAP system:
1) Created FILE port pointing to physical directory in SAP system
2) Created Partnet Type B (bank) partner profile
Created i/b and o/d interface in XI refering Idoc. Now configuring sender file adapter....Can I pick up file in SAP system using NFS?? How does it work?
What is the best way to do this scenario by using XI?
Thx
NavinNavin,
Create a File port in WE21. Also give the directory and file name in the physical directory. When ever you have created the partner profile you have to give the Recevier Port. Give this as your File port which is created above.
Then in the corresponding directory you will have a Flat Idoc. Then pick this file with XI and send to the Bank as FTP. You dont need anything in IR. Only you need is ID. Check this for some help on how to use XI for FTP purpose:

Allowed naming convention on SAP Server for IDoc files???
Hello everybody,
When I send any outbound IDoc, it saves a copy of that IDoc on the server in text format. I want to know what are the different file name conventions I can use? Can the file be automatically named with the information below?
Date + Time + Purchase Order # + EDI Transaction Code + .txt ? Where do you program/configure for the names of the IDoc files used in IDoc communication?
Please refer me to some documentation or other files/threads if needed..
Thanks,
Charles.Check with below links :
ftp://ftp.software.ibm.com/software/ts/cw/adapters/WSAdapterForSAP/Guides/sap6021.pdf
http://www.erpgenie.com/sapgenie/docs/advanced_guide_to_edi_configuration.doc
http://www.erpgenie.com/sapedi/operations.htm
I have done but i used datetimemessagetype.txt.
you can setup these things in FILE Transaction,here we can use logical file,logical path,physical file,physical path,IDOC FM will use FILE_GET_NAME to get dynamic file.
you can search in SDN like File transaction or FILE_GET_NAME.
Thanks

Hallo Everybody,
In one of the requirements,for the interface design which involves IDOC-FILE scenario we have a req as:-
Multiple IDOCs would be sent from SAP R/3 to SAP XI. Each IDOC can have 0-4 segments and for each segment a file needs to created.
The files needs to be FTPed to a location, only if all the IDOCs have been processed successfully.
Requirement:
1) Even if a single IDOC fails,the files should not be FTPed. --> How do we handle this in XI.
2) We need to send a notification from XI, in case any IDOC processing fails.
3) How do we check in XI, if all the IDOCs have been processed successfully.
Please suggest me with some good stategies to resolve this issue.
Appreciations and Rewards in line.
Regards,
YounusHi
Are you planning to use BPM as it suits your requirement.
To collect the idocs in small bunches refer
Collecting IDocs without using BPM
1) Even if a single IDOC fails,the files should not be FTPed. --> How do we handle this in XI.
BPM will allow you to wait for the time all IDOC are processed
2) We need to send a notification from XI, in case any IDOC processing fails.
BPM exception handling will allow this functionality even to the exact field you want to send notification
3) How do we check in XI, if all the IDOCs have been processed successfully.

Parsing an xml file using xerces DOM parser
Hi
I want to parse a simple xml file using DOM parser.
The file is
<Item>
<SubItem>
<title>SubItem0</title>
<attr1>0</attr1>
<attr2>0</attr2>
<attr3>0</attr3>
</SubItem>
<SubItem>
<title>SubItem1</title>
<attr1>1</attr1>
<attr2>0</attr2>
<attr3>0</attr3>
</SubItem>
<SubItem>
<title>SubItem2</title>
<attr1>1</attr1>
<attr2>1</attr2>
<attr3>0</attr3>
<SubItem>
<title>SubItem20</title>
<attr1>2</attr1>
<attr2>1</attr2>
<attr3>0</attr3>
</SubItem>
<SubItem>
<title>SubItem21</title>
<attr1>1</attr1>
<attr2>1</attr2>
<attr3>0</attr3>
</SubItem>
</SubItem>
</Item>
I just want to parse this file and want to store the values in desired datastructures,
I am trying using DOM parser, since it gives a tree structure, which is ok in this case.
public void init()
InputReader ir =new InputReader("Habsys");
Document doc =ir.read("Habitat");
System.out.println(doc);
traverse(doc);
private void traverse(Document idoc)
NodeList lchildren=idoc.getElementsByTagName("SubItem");
for(int i=0;i<lchildren.getLength();i++)
String lgstr=lchildren.item(i).getNodeName();
if(lgstr.equals("SubItem"))
traverse(lchildren.item(i));
private void traverse (Node node) {
int type = node.getNodeType();
if (type == Node.ELEMENT_NODE)
System.out.println ("Name :"+node.getNodeName());
if(!node.hasChildNodes())
System.out.println ("Value :"+node.getNodeValue());
NodeList children = node.getChildNodes();
if (children != null) {
for (int i=0; i< children.getLength(); i++)
traverse (children.item(i));
But I am not getting required results, a lot of values I am getting as null
Could anybody tell me how to retrieve the data from the xml file, I simply want to read data and store it in data structures. For eg, for tag Subitem with title as ' SubItem1' has attr1 as '1', attr2 as'0' and attr3 as '0'.
Thanks

NO MATERIALs in the Sales order created through inbound idoc file
hi,
i have maintained the customer material number as well the SAP Material number in the tcode VD51,but still the inbound
idoc type ORDERS03 is posting the application document(Sales order) without the materials.
for instance,
I have cust.material as CUSTMAT1 in the idoc file.
I have maintained the CUSTMAT1 as cust material and 1001 as material no in VD51.
After posting the inbound idoc file using RSEINB00 prg,the idoc is created and i can see the CUSTMAT1 in the material segment field
The Sales order is created successfully ,but without the materials.
i need the application document has to be posted with materialsm,can any one help me to solve this issue.?
ThanksHi ganesh ram
In order to determine the Material Number with you custom material then you needs to have some configurations.
Check with your Functional consultant to add the Access sequence for determining the Material Number with you custom material
In Sale order processes...

HR-PDC interface: Problems in the file name of the downloaded idoc file
I'm currently busy with the HR-PDC interface to EBI-time recording system. The RFC destination to EBI's quality system is working fine but we are experiencing differences in the idoc file name that we are creating in the EBI path. When we send a request to EBI to upload clocks, an idoc (Message Type: HRCC1REQUPTEVEN and IDOC type: HRCC1REQUPTEVEN01 ) is sent to EBI The file name is HRCC1REQUPTEVEN whereas in a previous implementation file name is HRCC1REQUPTEVEN01. The control record information on the outbound idoc are the similiar in terms message types and idoc types sent through to EBI. Have you ever come across this issue in your previous experiences with SASOL's HR-PDC interface. SAP has not changed the IDOC type HRCC1REQUPTEVEN01 since 1998.
can you please also contact IDM support about it?

IDoc- File scenario: can you explain thses acknowledgments?
Hi,
I have an idoc->file scenario. in sxmb_moni I can see a green "OK" mark for my message in acknowldgment status column. when I dblclick the message, I can see my original message and 2 acknowldgment messages under this one in the top left.
1 acknowledgement is the OK one, the 2nd one is of type AckNotSupported.
When I dlbclick the OK one ack and click the idocoutbound, I can see:
<SAP:TABNAM>EDI_DC40</SAP:TABNAM>
<SAP:MANDT>450</SAP:MANDT>
<SAP:DOCREL>700</SAP:DOCREL>
<SAP:DOCNUM>0000000000257842</SAP:DOCNUM>
<SAP:DIRECT>2</SAP:DIRECT>
<SAP:IDOCTYP>ALEAUD01</SAP:IDOCTYP>
<SAP:CIMTYP />
<SAP:MESTYP>ALEAUD</SAP:MESTYP>
and when I dblclick the 2nd ack and IdocOutbound, I see:
<SAP:MANDT>450</SAP:MANDT>
<SAP:DOCREL>700</SAP:DOCREL>
<SAP:DOCNUM>0000000000257862</SAP:DOCNUM>
<SAP:DIRECT>2</SAP:DIRECT>
<SAP:IDOCTYP>ALEAUD01</SAP:IDOCTYP>
<SAP:CIMTYP />
<SAP:MESTYP>ALEAUD</SAP:MESTYP>
<SAP:MESCOD />
450 is the client of my IE, not the sender SAP system.
What should all this mean? What does each ack mean and why do I get 2 of them?
When I check the Idoc no. in XI, there is no such IDoc. Where are these Idocs sent from?
POINTS WILL BE ASSIGN FOR SURE FOR CORRECT ANSWER.
Thanks, Oliangreen:
