Issues in SAP(Idoc)-XI-File scenario
Dear All,
I am working on SAP(Idoc)-XI-File scenario. But in the Receiver agreement i am not able to see the idoc in order to specify some conditions there.
Please suggest if I have to do any settings in order to specify some conditions in the idoc.
Warm Regards,
N.JainHi nishu jain ,
U can specify the conditions in Reciever Determination.
1.Go to Scenarios
2.Choose your business scenario
3.Click Service without party
4.Double click Reciever Determination
5.U wil get screen in which there is a option called Configured Recievers.
6.Click there.then u wil get the screen with
Left Operand Op Right Operand
7.There u can specify the condition.
Reward points if u find this useful.......

How to load flat file containing data(separated by commas) into cube sapbi.
hi gurus,
please help me with this question?
i have some data in the flat file for example, address but with commas for ex:
h.no:123,colony,area,hyd-59.now i have even other columns in this flat file like customer name,age.....i want to know ,how to load this data into infocube. where in when it comes to address column sap bi takes it as a single column in the generated report.Hi Amulya,
To get reports on all ur records save ur flat file in .CSV format -> to do this open ur flat file, save as "filename.csv".
-> CSV is nothing but comma seperator value, sap supports two types of formats 1).csv and 2) ASCII format.
we prefer .csv format.
check this link for step by step modelling.

Using DTS Wizard to Import a Flat File containing data like "4124, rue Champenois"
THE BELOW DATA SHOULD BE ONE FIELD, but the COMMA causes it to separate into two fields. The FLAT FILE is a comma-delimited CSV file. The data in the CSV file for this one field actually uses double quotes at each end of the street number and street name.
"2144, rue Champenois"
"340, rue Champs Elysees"
What happens during the conversion process when using the DTS Wizard is that the street number and street name are split apart into two separate fields. This messes up the output and causes the SSIS package to fail, so that the FLAT FILE Source's data never
makes it into a SQL Server Database Table. I saw a box called TEXT QUALIFIER, so I put the DOUBLE QUOTE in there, thinking that this would keep the one field together which contains the STREET NUMBER and STREET NAME. No, that didn't work.
When using this import wizard with a FLAT FILE SOURCE, how do you keep a string that has double quotes at each end and a comma in the middle, together as one field?
Now, I went back later and started all over and put the " (Double Quote one time) in thr TEXT QUALIFIER block, and this did work. Why sometimes and not others?Hi Champenois,
I have tried your problem.
1) Exported "DimCustomer" table in "AdventureWorksDW" to filat file with bellow query.
Query: select top 10 CustomerKey,AddressLine1 from DimCustomer where AddressLine1 like '%,%'
2) Data comes to flat file like this.
3) Then i have taken flat file source and configured like this.
4) Now went to "Columns" tab and check the data. I am getting only two columns like above.
So, Please check your flat file connection manager with above flat file connection screen shot.
Please make this as answer if, you are able to solve your problem. -
Location of File Containing Data for "reopen all windows from last session"
I'm a heavy-duty Safari user and usually keep 100+ tabs and windows open, carefully invoking the command "reopen all windows from last session" each time I restart. Unfortunately, I screwed up today and started and quit Safari without invoking "reopen all windows from last session," and all of my open tabs and windows are gone.
I can recover the tabs manually using my history listings, but there must be an easier way: the information about the last session has to be stored somewhere. I did a Deja Vu backup on Friday and today I copied the files /~user/Library/Preferences/com.apple.Safari.plist and all the files from /~user/Library/Safari, including HistoryIndex.sk, History.plist, and LastSession.plist, from my backup to my hard drive, but the result was unchanged (that is, my 100+ tabs and windows were nowhere to be found).
Given the time it takes for Safari to shut down, I assume it's storing a large history file somewhere, if only I knew where. Does anybody out there know or could otherwise help my recover from my stupidity?
Thanks in advance.
-- Kevin
(proud Mac user for 23 years)I found a work-around. Since I frequently quit Safari and "reopen all windows from last session" upon restart, my history reflects all of the open tabs and windows contiguously. I thus reloaded the history file, invoked the command "History --> Show All History," found the most recent such contiguous history listing, shift-clicked and selected all relevant listings, and then double-clicked. All of my formerly open tabs and windows were reopened in tabs within a single window. I had to go back and rearrange things but it was far simpler than manually reopening all of those tabs and windows.

Reading file containing byte data
I am trying to read a file containing data that is in byte format. I can't look at the file and have no idea what is in there. For my first pass I would just like to see what the format is of the data in characters. Is there an easy way to do this? This is what I have done so far:
//file is read from another method and is passed in here.
try {
BufferedReader f = new BufferedReader(new FileReader(file));
String t;
while ((t = f.readLine()) != null) {
byte b[] = t.getBytes();
System.out.println("bytes " + b[0]);
System.out.println("chars " + (char)b[0]);
catch(Exception e) {
e.printStackTrace();
The output is looking like this:
bytes 72
chars H
bytes 74
chars J
bytes 81
chars Q
bytes -56
chars ?
Which one is the character value of the bytes? I am assuming the char one, but it sure seems like funny values. Also, I want to read the whole line and then get the whole line converted, not just the first byte. Isn't getBytes just getting the first byte? How can I convert the whole line after it is read (f.readLine())?
Thanks.
AllysonWell, I tried that and it still gives me just the binary or byte data (I have no idea what kind it is - I know I can't read it when I try to open it with notepad). There is a current application that uses this file and opens it and provides the data when it is opened. I am trying to look thru that code to find out what it does, but it is very confusing. It is written in c.
Any other ideas out there as to how to open and display the correct data in a file like this? When I did the binary data open this is the kind of data I got:
char in new loop Q
char in new loop
char in new loop @
char in new loop
char in new loop @
char in new loop @
char in new loop
char in new loop
char in new loop @
char in new loop L
char in new loop `
char in new loop :
char in new loop @
I know that data is mostly numbers and maybe a few names, but nothing like that.
Thanks.

Java CAPS SAP IDoc OTD thru IDOC descriptive file needs any sap jars and dd
Hi All,
I am doing PoC in Java CAPS using SAP IDoc Descriptive file. As I know for creating SAP IDoc OTD thru it will need certail jar filr and ddls. But creating SAP IDoc ITD thru IDoc descriptive file also we need certain jar files and DLL.
Please let me know on this.
Thanks in advance.Yes, you will need all of the required SAP JCo jars and DLLs even though you are using the IDoc description file. This link might be useful to you - [Creating a SAP ALE OTDs Wizard|http://docs.sun.com/app/docs/doc/820-4380/dsgn_sap-ale-otd_t?a=view]

i run a job to upload text file to inbound processing of IDoc
the job run in two steps with two program
RSEINB00 : to upload the file
RBDAPP01 :to activate the list of the idocs
but the job failed in the second step and it return
" During inbound processing of IDoc , an error occurred. The event for object type 'IDOC' could not be triggered "
any one know why ???Hi Kenny
I have also faced a similar issue in the past: To automate the process of file reading and triggering the inbound process whenever partner system (legacy system) copies a text file (containing data to be posted) to the SAP application server.
To automate file reading for inbound process, you have to use SAP events. You can define these events using transaction SM62.
This event will be used to execute the IDOC create program in a job based on this event.
Every time the partner system copies the extract file to the SAP application server, this event will be triggered which then runs the job for processing the data file.
For more information on using SAP events, click the following link and look into topics under heading Using events to trigger job starts:
http://help.sap.com/saphelp_erp2005/helpdata/en/fa/096e44543b11d1898e0000e8322d00/frameset.htm
the topic, Triggering events from external programs is quite interesting.

Splitting multiple IDoc XML files into single IDoc messages for R/3
Hi all. I have a problem splitting IDoc XML files coming in to XI. I currently have an interface that takes in single store sale IDoc transactions (type WPUBON01) in an IDoc XML file. I then have some complex graphical mapping on the IDoc before sending to R/3 via the IDoc adapter. This works fine. However, we now wish to include multiple sales in one file i.e. many WPUBON01 IDocs. I could use message splitting to do this BUT the mapping is so complex, I do not wish to have to change it to enable the processing of many IDocs in one file instead of just one.
What I want to do: have one mapping splitting a multiple IDoc XML file into single IDoc messages and then another taking these single messages as before and performing the mapping. I cannot find a way to do this in one interface; the main problem I'm having is getting XI to split the multiple IDocs into many single IDoc messages within XI itself. I'd be very grateful for any advice on the best way to do this.
Thankyou.
Stuart Richards (Halfords, UK)Bhavesh,
Thanks again for a clear explanation... I'm moving forwards but still struggling. I've been on this all afternoon today (after a break on other things) and just cannot get my message to split properly (though the SOAP adapter problem I had earlier is now fixed!). If my initial IDoc XML file contains this format:
<WPUBON01><IDOC>....</IDOC>
<IDOC>....</IDOC>
<IDOC>....</IDOC></WPUBON01>
.. I'm not sure what the cardinaility on the first message mapping and interface mapping should be. I'd have thought the source interface would be 1 and the target would be 0..unbounded but this isn't working. I'm trying different things but I get different errors each time. Currently, I have the above cardinality in my first interface and I'm passing in the following data:

In the message monitor, I get a chequered flag. Great. However, I get the dreaded error 500 in the SOAP receiver comm channel:
SOAP: response message contains an error XIAdapter/HTTP/ADAPTER.HTTP_EXCEPTION - HTTP 500 Internal Server Error
Exception caught by adapter framework: SOAP Error
Delivery of the message to the application using connection AFW failed, due to: SOAP Error.
Any ideas as to what this might be?! I'm getting there.... if I get a solution out of this, I promise to write the blog myself!
Cheers

Hi,
I have done a XI scenerio ( SAP idoc -> Xi-> file) and it is working perfectly in XID. I have observed a strange thing ...
In configuration scenerio i have defined sender business system as BS_ECC_400_001. But this is not there in SLD. And the whole scenerio is working....Can anyone please tell me why is this so ???
FYI, the business system was there in the object tab, i had not created it.
Regards
NiladriHello,
Check whether SLD is pointing to development environment, it might be pointing to other server. Same thing happend in my project. SLD was pointing to production environment.
Click on SLD link from your home page.

IDoc to File with different file name and data based on the IDoc header dat
Hi,
I got a requirement to implement IDOC to file senario. In this the Converted file should have the file name and file content based on IDoc Header data. Means If one of the IDoc header field value is
'A' - then the file name recieved by reciever system should be 'A.txt' and with the columns A B C D F.
'B' - then the file name recieved by reciever system should be 'B.txt' and with the columns C D F.
In both the case IDoc message type is same.
Please suggest me what i need to do to achieve this.
Thanks in Advance. ...
Regards
SriHi,
As per my requirement, we need to create one file for each IDoc based on IDoc header data. SAP program generates 10 IDocs for each run. All 10 IDoc's message type is same. Each IDoc has one header record with the file name. Base on the name in the IDoc header record, file needs to be created with different columns and file name. Means..
IDoc 01- Header Description contains 'A' - than file will be generated should have name as 'A.txt' and columns 'parent' 'child' 'descripion'.
IDoc 02- Header Description contains 'B' - than file will be generated should have name as 'B.txt' and columns 'Name' 'Department' 'Description'.
IDoc 10- Header Description contains 'J' - than file will be generated should have name as 'J.txt' and columns 'Order No' 'Materail' 'Description'.
Hope this will give more clarity on my requirement. Please let me if you are still not clear on requirement.
Thanks for your all help..
Thanks & Regards

Picking a IDOC Flat File stored in SAP R/3 Application Server by SAP PI
Hi,
Can SAP PI pickup a IDOC Flat File stored in SAP R/3 Application Server Directory and send it back as an Inbound IDOC.
Scenario:
We have a data in the EXCEL Sheet, which will be used to a fill an IDOC and the IDOC will be just save in the SAP R/3 Application Server Directory, but can not be triggered due to its peculiar behavior. Afterwards, SAP PI should pole the SAP R/3 and pick up that IDOC Flat File from the R/3 Application Server and send it back to the SAP R/3 as an Inbound IDOC.
For Ref: IDOC does not have a Outbound Process Code, thus can not be triggered and send to SAP PI. It is always used as a Inbound IDOC in SAP R/3 system.
Regards,
SaurabhSAP PI should pole the SAP R/3 and pick up that IDOC Flat File from the R/3 Application Server
If SAP PI = 7.11 --> /people/william.li/blog/2009/04/01/how-to-use-user-module-for-conversion-of-idoc-messages-between-flat-and-xml-formats
send it back to the SAP R/3 as an Inbound IDOC
why to send some information again into R3 which it already has? cant some internal code in R3 read the info from excel and then update the IDOC directly? -
ABOUT DATA SENDING IN idoc TO file SCENARIO
How the data is sended in idoc to file scenario?
what is the difference in sending data through BD10, BD14 and WE19 ?
Is the data is sended through XI OR R/3 SYSTEM?Hi Rammohan
>> How the data is sended in idoc to file scenario?
Makeing settings in SAP R/3 side then based on the RFC
destination,port,parterner profiles.....
Idoc can hold the data with out any direction but RFC port will direct where to
go ...based on the partner profiles (Out buond IDOCS)
>>what is the difference in sending data through BD10, BD14 and WE19 ?
BD10,BD11,BD12,BD13,BD14 will be to send the master data automatically
generally will be in the production(But not for testing) and this will be depending
on the declaration of profiles in the BD64
--- But we19 will be used to test the Idocs with any data
but here we need to give all the parameters like senders,receivers,ls,idoc...
>> Is the data is sended through XI OR R/3 SYSTEM?
Data will send through XI i.e XI will receive the Idoc and Convert into XI specific
SOAP XML message and process all the pipe line steps ...based on the target
it will send
Here target is file so choose the file adapter as target and give all parameters
it will work fine
I hope this will answer your question
