Partial quantity when do MIRO

Dear Experts,
My requirement is that we not activate "External Services Management", for service we use normal account cat (not D) and input quantoty = 1 UoM.
When GR, it's always full which is 1 UoM.
Problem is when we do MIRO there is many partial invoices from vedor and AP staff has to change quantity to tie with invoice amount (calculate protion) which is difficult to user.
For now we planned to input quantity same as amount (concern is MM report and tolerance to block invoice).
Your advice would be appreciate.
Thank you in advance,
Kaew

Hi
The workaround as you have mentioned is the only solution ,Mentioning the Vaule in the Quantity feild & vice verca,
As far as the reporting is concern you can create seperate document type for such kind of materials,so that while consolidating the Final MM reports the Changes of the Quantity & value feild can be taken care.
Also follow the GR base IV in this scenario.

Manish

  • Mile stone billing with partial quantity.

    Hi,
We are facing problem in the milestone billing. we have scenario where we have payment terms (Ex: 10% advance, 70% on delivery, 10% on installation and remaining 10% on completion) with the materials having multiple quantity. Delivery will be in partial, so except the advance invoice all the remaining invoice require change in the billing quantity before billing, but in the system billing quantity showing in gray mode. After delivery also remaining (10% installation) also will be on different quantity i.e. actually installed at the site.
As per the law invoicing has to be done with in the 14 days of the installation of the work, once the installation over for partial quantity we required to do the invoice irrespective of the delivered quantity.
In the system if we do the invoice for the total quantity at the time advance after that we are unable to change the invoice quantity in the subsequent invoices.
Please suggest us how to make enable the billing quantity field in case of milestone billing.
Ex: let us say sales order is created for qty 10 with the value of 1,00,000.00 as payment terms as follows.
10% Advance, 70% on delivery, 10% on installation, 10% final completion.
First we have raised the 10% advance invoice using 1st milestone with the total quantity.
When we deliver, we deliver only partial quantity i.e. qty. 5, so we have to create the invoice for (50,000-5,000) Rs 45,000. But when we create the second invoice we are unable to change the billing quantity. Same way when we create the third invoice after installation we may have to bill for qty. 3 if only 3 machines are installed out of 5 delivered, so again we require the quantity change.

    hi
Milestone billing means distributing the total amount to be billed over multiple billing dates in the billing plan.
As each milestone is successfully reached, the customer is billed either a percentage of the entire project cost or simply a pre-defined amount.
During sales order processing, the system determines from the item category whether a billing plan is required and, if so, which type of plan
The type of billing plan that is determined at this point is set up in Customizing and cannot be changed in the sales document.
Billing plans for periodic billing and milestone billing plans for project-related milestone billing have different overview screens so that you can enter data relevant to your
    processing.
For example, for milestone billing, you must be able to enter data to identify the individual milestones.
    IMG configuration requires :-
    1.  Maintain billing plan types for milestone billing in OVBO.
    2.  Define date description in SM30 - V_TVTB.
    3.  Maintain Date Category for Billing Plan Type IN OVBJ.
    4.  Allocate date category in SM30 - V_TFPLA_TY.
    5.  Maintain date proposal for Billing Plan Type in OVBM.
    6.  Assign Billing Plan Type to Sales Documents Type in OVBP.
    7.  Assign Billing Plan Type to Item Categories in OVBR.
    8.  Define rules for determining the date in OVBS.
Milestone billing is typically used for billing projects, such as plant engineering and construction projects. Such projects often include a series of milestones that mark the completion of different stages of the work. In the SAP R/3 System, milestones are defined
in a network along with planned and actual dates for the completion of work. The milestones are also assigned to the billing dates in the billing plan.
Each milestone-related billing date is blocked for processing until the Project System confirms that the milestone is completed.
Delivery-relevant order items for which a milestone billing plan applies are billed on the basis of the requested delivery quantity and not on the total of the confirmed quantities.

  • Does Transfer Invoice Price Variance pro-rate for partial quantity ?

We were planning on using Transfer Invoice Price Variance to Inventory but unfortunately, we find when there's an IPV for quantity that's partly issued - the variance is not pro-rated but entirely applied to the remaining quantity.
Just wondering if this is desired functionality and if so, could we use SLA to ask the program to pro-rate the variance and for partial quantity, apply the pro-rated amount to the quantity remaining and the rest to the Cost Variance account.
    Thanks,
    Sanjib

TIPV to Inventory doesn't pro-rate for partial quantity.
It transfers the entire IPV to the remaining quantity.

  • TO with partial quantity

  • How Quantity flows to MIRO

    Hi,
I have a question for the GR based Invoice verification briefed as follows
    1. Created GR against PO
    101 Mvt ty-- 10 Qty
    2. Posted return delivery against 101 Material Doc
    122 Mvt ty-5 Qty
    3. Now If I go to post MIRO, I can see the quantity proposed for invoicing 5 Qty, Why?
Please help me to understand what is the logic behind and how the Calculation takes place for the quantity field in MIRO, Is there any note available ?
    Thanks

    Hi
    Regarding the  "GR-Based Invoice Verification" (EKPO-WEBRE) indicator;
When this indicator is flagged in the purchase order item the system differentiate individual goods receipts.
A new goods receipt posted with reference to the purchase order item serves as reference document for follow-on postings. This way, we link every invoice with its respective goods receipt document.
This individual assignment between receipts and invoices can be seen in ME23 / ME23N, displaying the purchase order history and selecting the view "GR/IR assignment".
When a new goods receipt is not posted with reference to the purchase order item but with reference to an existing posting (as a subsequent delivery, for example), all the goods movements which keep the link are considered within the same "GR/IR assignment" block.
Also have a look at the following KBA regarding the valuation for the same
1827732 - Valuation when GR-Based IV (EKPO-WEBRE) is set in the PO item.
    I hope this can help

  • Using mult Acc *** when using MIRO and limit order

    Hi
Do you have to use mult account assignment when doing MIRO against a limit order (Item cat B). When doing MIRO against a normal PO that has no GR you are able to enter the quantity and amount directly onto the row without using mult acc ***. Is it standar to use mult. acc. *** when doing MIRO towards a limit order?
    /Anders

I am not sure what you mean by your query is it standard ?
SAP allows you post singly account entries as well multiple account entries in case of PO account assignment, it is applicable to all type of account assignment and not only B
It is all based on how your company wants the accounting entries to be made, whether to a single account and apportioned to multiple accounts

  • Packing - per partial quantity

    HI,
    I have a requirement
    I have three materials, A, B & C of 100 each.
I need to pack 10 of each material into a single box, in the end I will have 10 boxes.
Those 10 boxes will then be packed on to one pallet.
    Example
    1002000 Pallet
    - 1002001 Box
    --- Material A = 10
    --- Material B = 10
    --- Material C = 10
    - 1002002 Box
    --- Material A = 10
    --- Material B = 10
    --- Material C = 10
    etc...
My question is, is there a way to do this similar to using the "per partial quantity" button. I know I can do it individually, but that is very time consuming for my shipping department especially when the numbers start getting bigger.
    Please let me know
    Vickie

    Hello
You can resort to automatic packing using a) Packing Instructions, or b) User Exits-  via SAP enhancement PACKMODI. Firstly you need to enable automatic packing for the delivery type by checking  the 'Automatic Packing' box in the delivery type config.
See this link for more info.

  • How to restrict the quantity & rate of MIRO with MIGO and PO

    Hi friends,
Can any body tell me how to restrict the quantity & rate of MIRO with MIGO and PO.
e.g. if we have done MIGO for quantity 10 and the rate maintained in the PO is Rs.100.Then at the time of MIRO system should not allow to change the quantity and rate.
    How we can do this?
    Regards
    Purnesh Sharma

    Hi,
You are misunderstanding the use of MIRO.
If you change the details in MIRO you are NOT changing anything. You are just entering the price and quantity from the Invoice.
If this price and or qty is different from the GR aqty and PO price then the system will block the invoice for payment (and it can issue messages toinform the buyer if configured correctly).
The whole design of MIRO is based on the principle that you enter EXACTLY what the vendor has put on the invoice. By preventing the users from changing anything you will get NO mismatched invoices, but you will not be paying the vendor the amount specified on their invoice. This will surely cause problems.
If you do want to ensure that ONLY the GR qty and the PO price are used and cannot be changed then why not consider using ERS (Eveluated Receipt Settlement. this is basically self billing.
Effectively you will be paying the vendor based on what you have received in MIGO multiplied by the price from the PO. (which is what you would be doing if you stop any changes in MIRO)

  • About foreign currency exchange difference when do MIRO

    Dear all,
There's a  purchase order with foreign currency, for the currency rate floated every month, if we do MIRO in the next month after we do GR, there's foreign currency exchange difference happened,
the problem is if the mat'l code with stand price control, in OBYC, I set the transaction KDM with account determination:exchange difference, then I do MIRO, it's ok, the currency exchange diff goes into the right account(exchange difference),
but if the mat'l code with price control V, when do MIRO, the currency exchange difference goes into the inventory account automatically, seems not determined by the setting of OBYC KDM,
    so what can I do,?
Appreciate your kind reply in advance.

  • Block zero quantity when creating Inventory Transfer

    Hi all,
does anyone know how to block zero quantity when creating inventory transfer?
for example: I have zero quantity in warehouse A. Then I want to transfer it to warehouse B. The system accept that. So, when I check that item in warehouse A, the in stock column become negative. How I can protect it?
please help me. it's very urgent.
    thanks
    sisca

Go to Administration > System Initialization > Document Settings > General Tab
Check Manage Inventory nu Whse and also check Block negative inventory. Read details below of their functionality.
    Manage inventory by whse
Defines whether the check is performed for the warehouse selected in the document row. If you select the checkbox, the system checks the minimum inventory level in the warehouse that was selected for the item when the sales document was entered.
If the transaction causes the inventory level in that warehouse to fall below the minimum inventory level, a warning message appears even if the total available inventory of the item is greater than the minimum warehouse quantity. If you do not select this checkbox, the system checks the total available inventory in all warehouses where this item is stored.
You can also define automatic notification for a specific user when the inventory level falls below the minimum level. A purchase transaction can then be initiated.
    Block negative inventory
Select to block documents that would cause the level of inventory to fall below zero. If you deselect the checkbox, the message “Negative inventory usage is not in accordance with accounting rules. Are you sure you want to enable negative inventory usage?”
If you select Manage inventory by whse and Block negative inventory, SAP Business One calculates the block per warehouse. However, if the item is not handled by a warehouse and you do not select Manage inventory by Whse, the block is calculated for all the warehouses.
