Pass data via hyperlink

Can a Flex app read a variable passed to it through a
hyperlink?
I am trying to create a chart page that reads its data from
XML pages (using HTTPService). I want to have the chart page
determine which of several XML pages to use for data based on the
hyperlink clicked to launch the chart page.
On a normal HTML page there might be three links:
http://www.webpagename.com/chart.html?page=sales
http://www.webpagename.com/chart.html?page=profit
http://www.webpagename.com/chart.html?page=ltdebt
Can the Flex app get information from the URL scope and use
it within the app?

Yes. You pass the values into flex from the html wrapper
using flashvars, and access them in flex using the
Application.parameters object, which is an associative array.

• Calling a new browser window with WD Abap and passing data via POST

Hi there,
does anybody know whether passing data via POST method is possible when opening a new browser window from within a Web Dynpro Component? In my case I use method IF_WD_WINDOW_MANAGER->CREATE_EXTERNAL_WINDOW for opening a new browser window. Now I want to pass a big amount of data which is only possible via POST method. How can I achieve that or is it not considered inside the Web Dynpro Framework?
Kind regards,

Hi Priya,
can you please explain a little bit more what you mean? I didn't get it..

• TCP Callback function passing data to teststand

Hi,
I'm trying to pass data via a TCP Callback function to teststand using the TCP steptype that I downloaded from Ni.
When I open a connection, container data is passed to the dll on which it creates a connection, the dll in part creates a TCP Callback function.
The handle obtained from the connection is then passed back through the container data, and the dll returns back to the sequence editor which will execute the next steps.
The problem is that when the TCP Callback function gets an TCP_READY event it can not pass data to TestStand because it can not access the container data.
How can this TCP Callback function pass/alter data to/in Testand?
Thank you...

• Nested IPE (In Place Element) usage when accessing Cluster/Array data via DVR

I am sharing data across several VIs and loops via a DVR, and accessing the data via a DVR IPE. The data is a cluster of arrays. The diagram below (VI attached) illustrates the structures invloved, but not the structure of the application.
(The diagram above does not include initialization of the arrays, as it is intended only to illustrate the Cluster1 data type. Array lengths could be 100.)
The DVR (DVR1) is passed to multiple VIs of the application at startup.
Each VI executes loops that either read or write particular elements of each array (fArray1 or fArray2).
I believe the DVR IPE (B1-DVR) provides blocking so that only one task can modify the data (Cluster1) at any time.
Case 1 illustrates how I currently WRITE to array elements. The outer IPE (block B1) is rolled into a VI (not shown) that takes DVR1, Index, and Value as inputs.
Cases 2 - 4 illustrate 3 additional methods that remove one or both of the inner IPEs (B2-Cluster and B3-Array).
Case 2: IPE B3 (Array Index/Replace Elements) is replaced with a non-IPE 'Replace Array Subset'.'
Case 3: IPE B2 (Unbundle / Bundle Elemnts)' is replaced with a non-IPE cluster 'Unbundle'/'Bundle'.
Case 4: removes both B2 and B3.
I implemented case 1 a long time ago. When I had to do the same thing again recently, I did case 4. When I stumbled across my earlier implementation, I was a bit suprised
Which of the 4 cases should take the least time (or resources) to execute? I think case 4 has as few array allocations as any of the other 3.
The attached image did not capture the Buffer Allocation marks, so I marked the ones that differed with a red "B".
I am only interested in differences in how the arrays are handled, so I see no signioficant differences.
Is this one of those cases where LV doesn't need my help?
Incidently, I recently wrote a small app with shared data and decided to try FGVs to share array data. For small arrays, 10^7 iterations, and an FGV based array-element read followed by a element write, the FGV was faster. 1.2us per read/write for FGV vs 3us per r/w for an DVR/IPE based read/write (like above).

Option 1 is a definite no and as far as I know it has been NI's explicit intention to steer clear from it. I believe there's an idea in the IE which asks for this.
I agree that option 2 makes sense, but I don't think it should be something the user specifies. Either LV can detect it automatically or it can't, but I doubt NI would let you have an option which creates the possibility for this kind of bug.
I'm not sure, but the mark as modifier option on the IPES might be the option you're looking for. I know that it exists and I know very roughly what it does, but the documentation for it is very limited and I never actually played around with it, as usually I don't need these kinds of optimizations.
You may well be right that a new option on the IPES is desirable and you should probably add it to the idea exchange.
As for NIWeek, I'm not going this year, so I have no idea what kinds of sessions are around, but it's a great place to find people who know what they're talking about and ask them about it directly. Certain people in LV R&D would probably be ideal for this and if you ask relevant people, you might even get their names. I'm sure buying them a beer would also help to loosen their tounges. If you ask me, this type of interaction is the main value of the conference, not the sessions themselves.

• Passing data from an XML object to an itemRenderer

I'm trying to color the background of a column in a datagrid and have found a sample file that illustrate the concept. However, the sample has data stored in an arrayCollection whereas mine is in an XML object. The problem is that the data in the sample file is apparently automatically passed to the itemRenderer (shown below: note the trace statement). My XML object does not appear to automatically pass data to the itemRenderer. So my questions are:
1. Is there a simple way to pass data stored in an XML object to an itemRenderer
or
2. Should I convert my XML to an arrayCollection? If so, what's the best way to do this-- I've tried the following, but without success:
<mx:Model id="xmldata" source="example3.xml"/>
<mx:ArrayCollection id="myAC" source="{ArrayUtil.toArray(xmldata.Example1)}" />
Here's what the xml looks like:

<EXAMPLE1>
<difficulty> 0.5 </difficulty>
<discrimination> 0.7 </discrimination>

3

</EXAMPLE1>

Here's the itemRenderer:

<mx:Label xmlns:mx="http://www.adobe.com/2006/mxml">

<mx:Script>

import flash.geom.Matrix;
import flash.display.GradientType;
import flash.display.Graphics;
override protected function updateDisplayList(unscaledWidth:Number, unscaledHeight:Number):void
super.updateDisplayList(unscaledWidth,unscaledHeight);
var m:Matrix = new Matrix();
m.createGradientBox(unscaledWidth,unscaledHeight);
var g:Graphics = graphics;
trace("data.col3="+data.col3)
var colors:Array = (data.col3 < 2000 ? [0x0000CC,0x0000FF] : [0x00CC00,0x00FF00]);
g.clear();
g.beginGradientFill(GradientType.LINEAR, colors, [0.2,0.6], [0,255], m);
// the rectangle is drawn a little high and a little tall to compensate for the gap
// the DataGrid introduces between rows.
g.drawRect(0, -2, unscaledWidth, unscaledHeight+4 );
g.endFill();

</mx:Script>
</mx:Label>

This sample code should answer your question of how to bring data into the renderer automatically. It comes in via the DataGrid dataProvider and then you refer to it in the renderer as data.XYZ, where XYZ is the field in the XML with the data. See FB 3 help sys on e4x syntax.

• Error in Release of Network data via BAPI_BUS2002_SET_STATUS

Hi Experts,
I have to release network data via a Custom Report Program, so I am using the STD BAPI , BAPI_BUS2002_SET_STATUS.
The functionality must be similar to the release of Network as in case of transaction CN22 or can also be done via Project Builder(Transaction CJ20N).
we r using the std BAPI as follows :
CALL FUNCTION 'BAPI_BUS2002_SET_STATUS'
EXPORTING
number                    = < NETWORK NUMBER >
set_system_status = 'REL'
IMPORTING
return             = c_return
TABLES
e_result           = lt_result.
The error is Error in processing. Function was not executed . On further analysis, the Function Module CO_ZR_HEADER_RELEASE is causing the issue , not allowing network header data to be free.
The same functionality works via CN22. Please advice whether there is a need to pass further parameters or anything else.
Awaiting a response..
Regards,
Sonika

Hi,
there are some special requirements for using this BAPI. You need to call BAPI BAPI_PS_INITIALIZATION and BAPI_PS_PRECOMMIT with this BAPI. Check documentation for your BAPI. It's well documented there.
Cheers

What I get from your question is
is that u need to call a program using SUBMIT statement in the background and u need to feed some values into the program may be into the selection-acreen so u can use
SUBMIT <prog name>
with parameter1 = value1 .
where parameter1 is the part of selection-acreen of the prog which was calld.

• Problems migrating data via LSMW using the IDoc method

Hello everybody,
I got a very strange problem migrating data via the LSMW. I tried to map legacy data using the IDoc mapping method. I'm using the message type 'CRMXIF_PARTNER_SAVE_M ' and the basic IDoc type 'CRMXIF_PARTNER_SAVE_M01'.
I can read the import data and convert it to IDoc structure as well as generate the IDoc. When I start processing the IDoc afterwards I get always the same error messages which I don't understand...
The errors are:
1) Error status 'A ' calling validation service (Status 51)
2) Validation error occurred: Module CRM_BUPA_MAIN_VAL , BDoc type BUPA_MAIN (Status 51)
3) Error_Time Dependency_Addresses CHECK_TABLE_MISSING (Status 51)
4) Internal error when calling operation module BUA_CHECK_ADDRESS_VALIDITY_ALL : Check table missing (Status 51)
5) Address moves ignored in the case of time-independent systems (Status 51)
6) Partner data processed with key PartnerGUID 4BF67ADE9B9923BEE10000000A3500DB (Status 51)
7) Partner (4BF67ADE9B9923BEE10000000A3500DB ): the following errors occurred (Status 51)
I tried to import the following data:
external ID
Name1
Name2
Address data
Telephone data
Fax data
Website data
Can anybody tell me where those errors come from and how I can fix them. Would be great if somebody could help me!
Thank you and best regards,
Markus

so apparently my issue with this was setting the time zone in the Address to the time zone of the user doing the conversion. You can find the time zone in SU01.
Also you can create a BP in the WebUI then check t-code SMW01 and it will help you on passing the values to CRMXIF_PARTNER_SAVE

• Update and transfer data via BADI LE_SHP_TAB_CUST_HEAD

Greetings All,
I've a requirement to create a custom tab in the VL01N/VL02N/VL03N header record displaying custom fields.
I've successfully implemented BADI LE_SHP_TAB_CUST_HEAD, created a subscreen, appended my custom fields to the LIKP table via append structure, and can now view my fields in the transactions listed above.
I'm having trouble updating the fields in the subscreen and save the values back to the LIKP table. First question is a) do I do this via the PBO PAI modules in my subscreen, or should I be doing this in the BADI?
Second question is, if I shuodl be doing this in the BADI, how do I do it. A simple example is that I have created a field called ZZ_CUST_TIME in LIKP, added it to my sub-screen using data dictionary linking.
How do I pass a value entered into this field via VL02N back to the transaction for update?
Any suggestions would be greatfully appreciated.
Regards,
Steve

Dear Abhishek, can you explain the step..in this step screen is comming but custom fields value is not coming and also likp table is not updated
Correct AnswerRe: Update and transfer data via BADI LE_SHP_TAB_CUST_HEAD
Abhisek Biswas Jan 21, 2009 7:28 AM (in response to Stephen Keam)
Hi Stephen,
You can do it by using PBO and PAI modules of the screen that you created. But you have to transfer the data from subscreen to the BADI method TRANSFER_DATA_FROM_SUBSCREEN and aslo from method TRANSFER_DATA_TO_SUBSCREEN to the subscreen. This will update the screen field data to LIKP.
You can aceive this by two ways.
1) You can use EXPORT in method TRANSFER_DATA_TO_SUBSCREEN and then IMPORT the value in the screen PBO. And You can EXPORT data from screen PAI and IMPORT data in method TRANSFER_DATA_FROM_SUBSCREEN.
2) Anither way to do it is by using Function modules and Function Group instead of EXPORT/IMPORT.
Create a Function group. In the global data define a structure/Work Area of type LIKP.
DATA w_likp TYPE likp.
Then create two Function modules, one to export data and another to import data.
Let us assume that the export FM takes in IS_LIKP as input and the import FM outputs the value of LIKP into ES_LIKP.
Then pass the value is_likp to the export FM in the BADI method TRANSFER_DATA_TO_SUBSCREEN and in the screen PAI pass the LIKP data to the export FM.
In the export Function module write the following code:
MOVE is_likp TO w_likp
Then in the Import FM write the following code:
MOVE w_likp TO es_likp.
The import FM is called from method TRANSFER_DATA_FROM_SUBSCREEN and from screen PBO.
This will solve your problem.

Abhisek.

• Passing data from Receiver FM

Hi,
Scenario is, once the event is raised, some information needs to be passed to workflow.
Being a standard events raised by std. applications, we can not add parameters to these events.
So wanted to know that whether we can pass data to Workflow container if we have some data population logic built at Receiver FM?
Can we populate directly Workflow container at this point? ( Reason for this question is that we will not have binding from event to workflow for the specified populated parameter, so populating event container will not serve the purpose.)
Waiting for your inputs,

Hi Ashkay,
Actually you can extend standard events with your own parameters via delegated sub object type. But of course filling the additional parameters is a different matter - usually not easy unless a user-exit or equivalent is provided for this purpose. Change document events do have some special features in this area.
You could therefore extend your standard event by adding your additional parameters, use your event receiver function module to populate the event container, and then pass it in the binding from the event in the workflow container. Which would of course work because your event parameters would be correctly defined against the standard event and therefore accessible for binding.
Otherwise a simpler approach is to raise two events. The first is the standard event which you use to trigger your workflow and wait for the second event. The second is the custom event to provide additional information to the workflow.
